Crown on Darby

Helpful and very friendly staff. Excellent location. Easy checkin. Large and comfortable room with practical amenities. Shower over bath and steep steps to our top floor room. Parking fee was far too expensive and penny pinching. We stayed a week and found it pleasant.

Extremely spacious & well appointed apartments on exciting Darby Street. Comfortable beds, separate lounge, great shower and a balcony. Convenient share laundry facilities are also available. Private parking available if required (currently $25 per night). Street parking worked fine for us (2 hour parking not timed between 1900 - 0900). Even more exceptional than our room itself were the three staff we engaged with. Warm, understanding & helpful at all times.

The rooms and location are great but the after hours check in is absolutely ridiculous - i was left on the street to call a number to a company that is contracted to the hotel, who requires that i take photos of my id and credit card. Once this was verified, and i needed to call back to provide my cc info over the phone for incidentals before i could get the pin code to enter the hotel. I note that there are no incidentals, ie food or alcohol, even available in the room. This is despite the fact that i have stayed here before and this information is actually on the hotel file. The whole check was a terrible experience.

Stayed a couple of nights here to attend a conference. Location was good, convenient to restaurants and transport, room was quite and spacious. Unfortunately I did have a problem with there being a stain on my sheets which I discovered afterhours (reception runs with limited hours). Staff resolved promptly the next morning. Overall would stay here again.

Get to room after being moved from one accommodation I get in and no lighting only to be placed on hold and jumped around to people on after hours to get it sorted. Turned out I needed a card key not just a code! I had to head back to reception to access their key safe and fund a spare card key. No empathy from people on phone given this was now 1.5 hours after trying to initially check in to accommodation. Room nice at least but that's it. Service could be so much netter

A hidden gem in the heart of Newcastle. Short walk to great restaurants and the centre of town. Secure undercover parking at reasonable rates. Lovely staff. Huge rooms! Absolutely brilliant!

Great location with plenty of cafes and restaurants at your doorstep. Nice bathroom and kitchenette. There could be a shelf near the vanity and a small table and 2 chairs to eat at in the room.

Excellent accommodation right in the heart of Darby Street, staff very friendly and helpful, our stay was the best, so much so we booked in advance for our next trip down
