Excellent Stay – Consistently Great Service I stay at the Crowne Plaza two nights a week, and every visit is consistently excellent. The rooms are always clean and comfortable, and the bathrooms are spotless. The front desk staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating, making check-in and check-out smooth every time. Breakfast is a highlight of the stay – delicious, with a good variety, and the service is top-notch. Greg, in particular, always goes above and beyond to make sure guests feel welcome and well taken care of. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a reliable and comfortable place to stay!

we only had one night in Fredericton and it was pouring rain. We did really like this hotel and the location was great being right downtown. THere are lots of restaurants all nearby and the waterfront path is right in front. It definitely is in the perfect area. We tried the pub for drinks and it was busy and the staff was great. The breakfast which was included was in the beautiful dining room and the wait staff was amazing. We upgraded our room to a premium suite which had an amazing view. we would stay here again in a minute. Sadly we only had one night. We loved Fredericton.

I didn't like that the shower head wasn't expandable so I couldn't just wash my hair without jumping in and having a full body wash. Rooms are clean and I get that the hotel is an old building but I was unable to sleep due to the noise outside. All employees are very nice!

My wife and I stayed here last week and it was a great experience! Penny at the front desk was a prototype for what great customer service can be! She helped us in a difficult situation and was empathetic and offered solutions and was proactive! Hôtel was nicely maintained, amenities were plenty and well priced. Zelda in the restaurant was great! Location can’t be beat. Would stay here again in a heartbeat

My experience with this hotel (the booking was in my wife's name, we were a family of two adults and two children) was nice, except for two points. If the management could take care of these two points, I will be happy to return. First, we left a request for our room to be cleaned and serviced when we stepped out on the second morning. We were out all day, and came back in the evening to find that the room had not been cleaned, used towels not replaced, coffee and sugar not replenished. That was a bit of a disappointment. The other problem was that although the room itself was quite nice and spacious, the bathroom does not have an exhaust! If it did, it was clearly not working. The location of the hotel is quite nice, although the breakfast buffet could improve its spread and variation.

Stayed for 1 night. Beautiful hotel walking distance to lots of restaurants. we were traveling with a trailer and they had a few options for us to park off of the hotel grounds which was real nice. Room was fully updated, modern and clean but the only odd thing is the shower tub / tile / fixtures was not replaced? it was yellowish compared to the rest of the washroom and showing signs of age. Tub was chipped, shower hardware showing signs of age... but it was very clean with new grout.,.. that close to a 5/5 star :(

I booked a standard room with two queen beds at this hotel, advertised as 4 stars — but the experience was far from it. The elevator was tiny, like in a 1-star motel, and couldn’t even fit the luggage cart. No staff offered to help, and the room was extremely small, dusty, with a worn-out door and windows facing the street. It felt more like a low-end motel than a 4-star hotel. I’ve stayed in 3-star hotels before that were much better. The pictures online are misleading — showing hallways and nicer areas, but standard rooms are cramped, outdated, and disappointing. I was ready to cancel and leave, but thankfully a staff member named Nihar helped us upgrade to a junior suite with a river view, which was much better. Surprisingly, even the elevators were different for upgraded rooms, which raises questions about fairness in how standard guests are treated. Parking is also an extra $17/night for an unsecured outdoor lot in downtown. Leaving early in the morning didn’t feel very safe. Overall, the hotel needs serious renovation and more transparency in its advertising. Thanks again to Nihar — without his help, we wouldn’t have stayed. Definitely not worth the price in general

Google
Perfect location in beautiful downtown Fredericton, NB. You are within walking distance to all kinds of cafés, bars, and walking trails. The hotel is older but well maintained and the staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are quite large and, so far, the bed has been super comfortable! Room service was top notch. Definitely worth a visit!

Yelp
Been coming here for years. 2022 and they are killing it... Major remodeling job seems complete, the pub has been elevated both in menu and drink selection. Our room is beautiful and you cannot beat the location. The recent upgrades really brought this hotel to a new level of quality. Staff are top notch as always. Highly recommend.

Yelp
The food was great and it was served by friendly experinced staff that gave us the perfect wine paring.I had the seafood (muscles) they where cook just right tender with a creamy buttery sauce. Also was suggested for a starter tuna tartare was fresh delightful. Overall a great night with food that was perfect for the occasion.

Yelp
I stayed here for two nights in October 2011. I was in the "tower" section and had a glorious corner room at the end of the hallway on the 5th floor. The beds were incredibly comfortable and the room was spacious. I travel about 125 nights per year for work in the US and Canada---and this hotel is definitely one at which I'd stay again! The service in the lobby was friendly, professional, and attentive. In fact, one afternoon, my keys wouldn't work in the door any longer and instead of just re-magnetizing them and leaving me to go back to the room, they sent a staff member to accompany me and ensured they worked (or they'd go and get new keys made again without me having to make yet another trip down to the lobby.) I really appreciated that gesture after a long day of working on my feet! I had room service deliver a wine and cheese/fruit tray to my room so that it was there upon my very late arrival (1am) and it was outstanding! 7-8 different kinds of cheeses, a wonderful glass of wine, and perfectly prepared. The location of this hotel is superb! There's an excellent wine bar nearby and several other restaurants, shops, and a wonderful downtown shopping area. Try the pub downstairs! If you stay, I highly recommend the Cream of Mushroom soup at the pub in the hotel. It's freshly homemade...and made with love, 3 kinds of mushrooms, and isn't pasty or too creamy---it's loaded with delicious mushrooms and was truly the best I've had...That's coming from a true mushroom soup connoisseur that's picky about her soup!!! The Wireless internet was great---they gave 2 codes to each room, enabling two devices to be used in the same room. I am a Priority Club member, so the internet was complementary. The hotel was sold out the week I was there and the room was around $180 Canadian. If I return to Fredericton, I'll definitely stay here again.

Yelp
This is one of those old Dames that manage to survive today in the world of cheapy hotels. The Crowne Plaza has a great foyer with a big bold staircase leading up to the Mezzanene. I like the free parking right next to the hotel in the downtown heart of Fredericton. The service at the desk is always great - welcoming, efficient and helpful. The elevator is slow and classy. Be careful with your selection of floor for the lobby - as opposed to the Mezz. The rooms are well appointed with a great old feel. I still don't know what to do with six pillows on the bed - but it does make me feel special. The pool is large and deep - as is the tilled hottub. It also has a steam room which is a great way to relax those driving muscles at the end of a long day. The best thing about the Crowne Plaza is location, location, location. It is right on the river bank so one can hop, jump or run onto to fantastic trail system that worms all around town. It is a shot hop, skip and/or jump to all of the great restaurants and drinking holes in the downtown. No need to stagger up the hill to the cheap hotels after enjoying a great night on the town. So, even though it sometimes shows some of its age - this is a place that I go out of my way to enjoy.

Yelp
The positives - great location. Restaurant - both food and service - were excellent. Horrible front desk service. Disorganized check-in and front desk manager cares little about customer service. They say they want to resolve issues, but are not receptive to customer feedback. When asked who I can speak to about customer service - response was, look it up on the internet - we are privately owned so don't need to accept feedback. Would have been 1 star if not for the positive restaurant experience.

Yelp
I've stayed here for a total of 7 weeks in the past year. Overall I'd rate it 'good'. They are renovating the rooms so I'd expect some improvement there, but not for quite a while. PROS: Location - central downtown. View - the back faces the pretty St John river and the front the beautiful legislature. Staff- very good. The building - old and classic, attractive lobby area and staircase. Rooms - clean and large, albeit bland and aging. The bar - good food, and very impressive collection of local beers, knowledgeable staff, welcoming interior, just the right amount of TV's for sports if you want to watch them. Pool and exercise room - good size pool and well-equipped exercise room. CONS: Really disappointed in the overpriced and underqualitied breakfast - limited selection, lousy bread, lumpy room-temperature oatmeal, mixed fruit had a scary chemical flavour and there was no other whole fruit like bananas to substitute for something safe, so-so orange juice and poor coffee. Beds- too soft and sagging. I'm glad my last room had two beds because the first was basically concave. The second was just tolerable. Clock radio - all three I've had were old and cheap and the time was hard to read. One's alarm, though set to off, went off randomly. No music player, nor microwave, and most rooms don't have a mini-fridge. TV good and large but had limited channels. Last summer I asked why the Blue Jays games weren't on my room's tv and was told that the cable company wouldn't give them a better package. Yet the games were playing on the hotel's bar's TV; so I think the correct answer was 'we don't want to pay for an upgrade'. Staff - I know I said 'very good' above but have to add under cons that while most staff were great, more times than I liked my complaints were met with shrugs rather than help, from some of them.

Yelp
I was in and out of the hotel for a few days for work - we had meetings there and rented one of the rooms for a press conference. The location is perfectly central, and the staff in every area of the hotel were incredible - Tristan & Alexander at reception helped me check in some of our guests early; assisted me with getting my phone charged when my charger was broken; and were generally a font of information. In the restaurant, Nic and Greg were ever-present friendly faces, the embodiment of Maritime hospitality. I was sad to say goodbye to them, and next time in Fredericton I will absolutely stay at the hotel myself - I hope they're still there! Thank you all, so much.

Yelp
Next time I stay in Fredericton, I think I'll stay at the Best Western. I was pretty excited to be staying at the "Crowne Plaza Lord Beaverbrook". I had heard what a great hotel it was and how nice the rooms were and so on and so on.... Sure the grand staircase in the entrance is appealing but my overall experience sucked. First of all, I'll start with my first room (yes, I had to switch rooms). I get in and was honestly, a bit overcome but the stale stench of cigarette smoke. I'll confess, I was a smoker... but having fought that terrible habit, I find the smell overbearing and it honestly makes me sick.... If this had been a smoking room, I would have obviously understood but they claim it to be a NON SMOKING PROPERTY! Fail. I went into the washroom and two of the three towels were dirty - this turned me off... but still I can live with that. Then I go to the coffee machine and it's decaf... only. Honestly, this is where I drew the last straw. I understand that things like this happen but when I was told how fabulous this place was, I just couldn't stay in that room. I felt terrible about complaining because I have worked in hotels so I know how hard these people work, but when I have three different things that bother me I knew I had to say something. Onto the second room. Same type of room but normal. It was just blah. If I had been in this room to start off with I would have given this place a 3 star review because honestly, it's just blah... but with that first room experience behind me I have stayed in much nicer hotels at a cheaper price which has put this into perspective... therefore I'm disappointed to give this place a 1. :(

Yelp
Stopped in completely last minute with my folks and the concierge was very accommodating. She gave us a great rate, free parking, and recommendations on what to see on a holiday for local events. The location is excellent - right in downtown Fredericton and the back of the hotel is a parking lot adjacent to a walking path that goes along the river. Great spot. The dining room looked beautiful but we didn't end up eating anything there. Our 7th floor spacious room had 4 windows looking in two directions, so we could see out to the river though we weren't really on the river side for the view. Everything was clean and tidy with just a couple of small strange exceptions - one of us found the end of a baguette in the bakery bag hiding behind a curtain (though she spotted it before moving the curtain, so it should have been seen by staff) and a towel was in the tub over the drain as though to catch drips from the showerhead. The rest of the towels were perfectly in place. Huge TV and lots of channels. Really good value here if you are looking to stay downtown, and I'd come back.

Yelp
Ok I changed my mind. Basically the front desk man is SO nice and helpful that it has made a huge difference to my stay - I also came across some very good and nice cleaning staff.. Staff do count if you get people who are good with customers it makes all the difference ..

Yelp
Beautiful hotel. Modest rooms, clean, and quiet. The pool was nice, the kids loved it. I'd stay here again.

Yelp
My last visit to the JAMES JOYCE PUB, left me with a bad taste. I am a patron of this pub and I have been there many times but tonight for the first time, I had a bad experience with my food. I ordered chicken wings and a glass of wine. The wings were not cooked enough. They were raw inside with very red bloody meat close to the bones. (The first 4 wings that I touched were raw). I told the waiter and he kindly brought back the wings to the kitchen. He came back with what seems to be the same wings but cooked a little bit more. They were hotter but still a little bloody by the bones. The waiter checked on me and I explained what was going on. He offered to replace the wings but at this point I could not stomach more "raw chicken" taste in my mouth. I ordered a piece of apple pie instead to get rid of the raw meat taste. The pie came. It had been reheated in a microwave oven and the pie dough was soggy. The ice cream was delicious, the apple filling was delicious but the soggy pie dough was not. I am sure that if it would have been heated properly it would have been a great dessert. Although the food was bad, very bad, the service was great and fast. The waiter was very polite and caring. I felt bad as nothing of this had to do with his work, it was the kitchen that was not doing its work. I was given a 25% discount on the price of the wings (which cost 14.00$ - the discount was about 3.25$). I will go back but I will stay away from their wings.
