Our son's U11 Team stayed here for two nights while playing in a local tournament. All families were in agreement that we were all very happy with the stay. Check in staff were very friendly and even knew when we played and who we were playing...wishing us luck. Our group was mostly all on the same floor with a conference room at the end of the hall. This was SUPER convenient! Kids played respectively in the halls and we were never given any grief for this. Pool was a hit with all the kids and very clean. We will not hesitate to book here again as a group.

Decided to spend the night there after going on line and seeing their services for kids. Pool, Bowling, Arcade and mini golf. Had a fast check in and we're off to the pool. Pool was clean and the kids enjoyed it. We then headed for dinner at the Aqua Lounge. Service was fast to get drink and take orders but then disappeared. We almost walked out then food arrived. i got a burger and it was so greasy. Kids ate their burgers and my wife rated her sandwich a 6. Off to arcade were half the games are broken and the other half you have to shoot guns. There was a girls hockey team there so the bowling was crowded and thats understandable. Off to the room for the night. Beds comfy rooms are cozy. You could hear those hockey kids running around till about 11. Next morning we were in the pool at 730. Then breakfast. We got the buffet and it had lots off food for kids. they are 3 and 9. Everything you could want from a hotel buffet. The wife would of liked to order off the menu. Finally bowling for an hour and that was awesome. Kids loved it. Will do it again. Only down fall was dishes in the hall our whole stay from someone's room service.

A typical downtown Kitchener chained-style hotel. Long and twisted hallway to get to the room. Feel like a group of hamsters finding their way home. Rooms are dim, and the bathroom is not too spacious. It was nice to have a party room available for big groups, like hockey teams, to socialize during the stay. Also, all rooms for the families of the group are assigned to the same floor with no one else. I find this very convenient. Perhaps it's not a busy season, and they can accommodate this. Nice treatment. As a bonus, swimming pool and arcade games are also available to entertain kids while you want to take a quick break. It's not a bad idea at all. Overall, it's a good downtown place to stay with a reasonable price.

We stayed in a premium king room on the 6th floor and were pleasantly surprised. Thankfully there were no noisy neighbours during our stay. Bed was comfortable. One minor detail to note - they forgot to refill the tissue box and the hair conditioner. Breakfast was pretty good (eggs, bacon, sausage, french toast, pancakes, fresh fruit, yogurt, etc). We didn’t notice the omelette station until we were almost finished eating. I wouldn’t pay $20 per person for the breakfast however if you see a deal on their website, on Expedia, or another third party website, I would say it’s worth a try.

Though our first impression at check in. We waited about 5mins while a customer was very upset and dressing down the front desk staff. We were recognized as diamond elite and checked in with no issue. Arjun was nice and professional. The first night room was comfortable, but bathroom is very small. All amenities were good. The second night we were upgraded to a suite. Though one of the windows needs to be replaced. The room was again nice. We had to call Dave the repairman to fix the TV. The bathroom again was on the small side. The restaurant AQUA, was a good dinner with our friends and the food was good. All in all it was a good weekend. Thank you.

Our room was upgraded away from visiting hockey teams. The breakfast buffet was delicious, fresh and with lots of selection and attention to detail - like your own pot of coffee at your table, real plates & cutlery etc The parking was handy and though not included was affordable. The location was excellent for us to walk to Centre in the Square for a concert. A very comfortable and enjoyable overnight stay.

Stayed one night for our anniversary during Octoberfest. Our room was upgraded at no extra charge by the front desk staff when I mentioned that it was our anniversary. The room was a nice corner room on the seventh floor. The bed was comfortable and room was clean. The carpet was a little dated and could use a deep cleaning. Breakfast the next morning was one of the best breakfast buffets we have had a hotel. We would recomend anyone to stay here. We enjoyed our stay.

10/10 Exceptional 2 Jul 2024 A very pleasant surprised. Cleanness was 5-star. The breakfast buffet is the best in years I have found. They give attention to any detail: freshness, variety of food , egg preparation and presentation, as well as different types of milk, fruit and nutritional value. The 90%-carbohydrates breakfasts that are common in other hotels, don't exist in Crowne Hotel. On the contrary, I was highly pleased with the attention given to protein content menu, and vegetables. Last but not least, they made us feel as we really are: unique, important individuals. I know they will improve the brightness and carpets in corridors and a little more lights in the rooms, but that faded when I encountered the gratifying welcome each time I run into an employee. Way to go!

Yelp
Had a good stay with great customer service in early October 2024, but have since been charged an extra 305 CAD as an extra night plus no-show fee, despite confirming check-out date when I checked-in, and again confirming check-out in-person at the front desk when I left. I have spoken to two different people now with no return calls from management as promised, and no resolution. It's going on two weeks now. Unacceptable. Be warned, shady business practices are acceptable here it would seem once they have your credit card.

Yelp
Very hip and modern looking. Clean. Friendly service. Great location downtown. King room average in size. Nice desk space, lounge chair - with table you can work from. Comfortable beds and linens. Coffee maker, fridge AND microwave. Parking is a nominal fee, but the location is downtown so you have to pay for parking everywhere. The cost here is a fraction of the cost at nearby lots. The halls are a bit confusing lol, but nice views. Small bathroom, but it's clean and looks newly renovated. I travel here for work often and look forward to staying here again.

Yelp
This hotel only had air conditioning in half of it. The parking is terrible. The staff were no accommodating at all. Worst hotel stay I've had in 15 years. I would never stay there again , nor recommend it to anybody

Yelp
This place is beautiful, came here for a work trip, and as I walk in the reception greets you kindly. Gets you set up really fast with your reservation and lets me know when breakfast, lunch and dinner starts and what they recommend me getting. I got a executive king room and it was really huge, had a very comfy bed and pillows and a couch to lounge and a desk to work. Came down for breakfast and man oh man! They have everything you can ask for! Again the employees here treat you like kings and queens! Would recommend staying here for a comfortable stay. 5 star would recommend to anyone visiting the area!

Susanna S.

Yelp
You have a problem! I asked a very basic question to the front desk that they could not even answer. They patched me through to the sales team, who did not pick up. Then they hung up and blocked me. The basic question: I need to run a webinar. Do you have high speed internet connection in the room that would be good for that. This is major chain. In a high tech town. SERIOUSLY?

Yelp
I spent most of the week at a pension and benefits conference in Kitchener. It was held at the Crowne Plaza Kitchener-Waterloo and that's where I stayed from Tuesday evening 'til today. I had a king executive room. To get to my room, I had to take an elevator to the fourth floor .... then walk down a hallway ... then take another elevator to the seventh floor. It was ($180 plus taxes for Tuesday night and the conference rate of $144 plus taxes for Wednesday and last night). My bed was comfy. You can self-park ($12/night) or valet-park ($20/night) ... we had free parking and I parked it myself. The parking building is behind the hotel (not attached). I parked my car while it was still light ... I wouldn't want to do it at night (it's down an alley) as it seems creepy. There was a fridge and microwave in the room. WIFI was free and a bit slow. I lost it yesterday so used my Internet stick instead. Our conference was on the second floor. When we booked the conference in the spring (I'm on the committee), the conference rooms were supposed to be renovated but they weren't. They were okay, just kind of dated. The hotel is downtown and there are lots of restaurants within walking distance. There seems to be a mall across the street ... it looks old and I'm not sure if it's even open (I Googled and couldn't find a link for it).

Bruce J.

Yelp
This place is not good in any sense of the word. Tiny TV. Told them that I had just finished a 17 work hour night and would be sleeping all day. So they gave me a room on the street side. ( Thanks ). There was cig ash on one of the comforters, under side of the beds was filthy ( Found in checking to see if I lost anything ). No USB ports, tiny bathroom with no door on the shower. Sheets did not know what an iron was. The white comforter covers weren't so white any more.

Yelp
I stay here for work and it's very conveniently located from my office. The surrounding area is safe but still in development, so you've got interesting people around. It's a 3 minute walk from Queen Street Yoga and makes it very convenient. The staff is awesome. I've never really had any issues. The in-room dining is also really good. They're quick, they will customize things for you and they're great about the special requests I have. The pool and fitness area is awesome. Pool is smaller, and not that great if you used to swimming in standard size pools. But it's great for lounging. The fitness area is well equipped and they have a sauna and jacuzzi downstairs. love this place and will stay here whenever I travel to Kitchener.

Lyndsie L.

Yelp
Average hotel. Bathroom layout is pretty small and a bit difficult. Staff seems friendly but they did cause issues for our company when we rented out an entire floor. They said we're not allowed to have more than one person to a room? Which was a bit ridiculous.

Yelp
The restaurant aqua was the highlight of my trip! I am gluten free and a bit of a foodie. I will chose hotels based on dining options. I would return again here for that reason! The staff went out of their way for me. A very warm charming and professional server keera or heera took excellent care of us ! The chef Alex made a fantastic omelet with potatoes for me that were gluten free (not done in a fryer). I get this special treat maybe once in a year and usually at the four seasons or Jw Marriott resort so it was a lovely surprise! I was extremely impressed with the quality of the food , and the service at aqua restaurant at the crowne plaza. The dining room itself and the hotel lobby are also beautiful. The hotel is very well located and rooms clean and beds nice and comfortable. I slept well. We were in town for the Kitchener blues fest. Had a great time and will return! Looking for good options so we can "just say no to Toronto"! And we finally found a nice alternative in Kitchener! Great hotel and restaurant and entertainment options in this right sized city!

Yelp
Pretty nice. The rooms are OK and have the usual amenities. The pool and hot tub are pretty neat. You can watch the swimmers from the hot tub thru a window...Pretty neat.

Yelp
Executive Summary:Clean, comfortable, free wifi, though 'dated' furnishings... if you care about that kind of malarkey... I quite enjoyed my 5 nights at the Delta Kitchener... but I think my standards of what a good hotel is are skewed a bit by years of backpacking and traveling on a shoestring budget. To wit: I'm perplexed by comments in other reviews along the lines of "the bathroom was clean, but the room hadn't been updated in years.... though it too was clean and the bed comfortable." In my mind, a clean and comfortable bed and bathroom should be the primary feature being graded in hotel reviews... I don't really care if the furnishings looked 'tired'; I'm there to sleep, not learn new cutting edge design techniques. Anyway - in addition to fulfilling the basic bed-and-cleanliness needs of a hotel-goer, there was also free wifi and the room I had was pretty big. All this for a very reasonable price (though I did get a group rate, so there is that...). That's four stars every day of the week in my book!

Demi A.

Yelp
So my excitment for my trip to Canada for a week of Sales training was quickly diminished when I checked into my room. I won't spend a whole lot of time on complaining about this place however let me just point out the top four things: A. If I had a dog I wouldn't let him stay here B. A coworker wouldn't unpack any of their clothes and slept in the bathtub for fear of bed bugs C. I shouldn't have had to call down to maid service multiple times a day every day I was there for them to clean my room. D. I would have rather opted to sleep outside...It may have been cleaner.

Yelp
I have travel extensively and stayed in many hotels over many years. My daughter recently had her wedding in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. My only responsibility in planning the wedding was reserving my hotel room with an attached suite. From the time that we checked in until we checked out we were treated like family. The front desk did everything we wanted...everything. We flew from Savannah, GA to wedding site and did not bring a lot of supplies. We asked if we could have a coffee pot in the suite. They did not have one available, but the front desk manager brought hers in from home for us to use. We brought some dry cleaning down and unfortunately we missed the pickup. The girl at the front desk said she would run and catch them to take our laundry. My wife said it was not that important and we could wait another day. Not sure what happened, but that evening the dry cleaning was completed and hanging in our closet. We had first rate service every time we went into the restaurant and bar. I wanted to watch the CFL game in the bar on a holiday Monday. They told me they closed the bar/restaurant from 2 to 4, but I could stay in there with my drink/lunch and continue to watch the game. The restaurant manager actually came around when my daughter and her fiancee showed up and poured them a drink. She continued to serve us even though they were supposed to be closed. I asked for a late checkout and they said the latest I could check our of the room was 2PM and could stay in the suite until 4PM. The lady from housekeeping came into the suite before 2PM and said I could stay in the room, because they would not be able to clean it until at least 3PM. Love this hotel and they made us feel like part of their family. Thank you Crowne Plaza Kitchener Family.

Yelp
The Kitchener Delta is a classic case of bait n' switch. Their web site shows you pictures of their updated lobby, their bar area and their neon-blue swimming pool housed under a brightly lit atrium. All of this is true, but once you get past the lobby your experience goes steadily downward. While the bathroom of my room had been remodeled and was clean, the room hadn't been updated in ages. To be fair, the room was clean and the bed was very comfortable, but the finishings like the furniture and the carpets were well worn. The lamp shades are faded yellow and the televisions are older, small tube units. Also, my room on the second floor was very, very loud. You can hear the traffic below through the double-paned windows. The restaurant in the hotel is pretty run down. Even though their "buffet" breakfast is free, it's well worth paying for something nicer on your own at a local restaurant. Don't be fooled by their "fitness center" either. It's a bunch of run down equipment in a basement that smells pretty funky/musty. The price was reasonable, but you really do get what you pay for. If you can afford $25-$50 more a night, I'm sure there are better places to stay. I hear the Radisson in Kitchener isn't so bad. Maybe that'll be my next stay/review.

Amy J.

Yelp
This is a review for the restaurant/bar Botanica. It's a very nice place to lounge and the appetizers were good. I would definitely stop in here for a quick bite. The staff were pretty helpful because I don't think they were expecting a huge crowd.

Renton H.

Yelp
DO NOT COME HERE!!! THIS REALLY IS NO STAR!!!! Service is so slow, parking tix never worked resulting in people paying more for more garbage tix that didnt work. Our driver ran over the curb bc it wasnt working. You can waste your money to go bowling at a non polished lane for only 25 minutes but you must have 4 ppl to play. Mini golf sucked, arcade never worked and the fitness room somehow is 19 and older. What do they serve alcohol there? Breakfast was ok and so were the rooms. Pretty small bathroom wth bad design. My hotel door card didnt work. It takes you forever to get to the hotel from the parking lot

Laura R.

Yelp
I stayed here for two night for work meetings in the area. You can get to King St/city hall and the restaurants in that area in a 10-15 minute walk. Crowne Plaza has taken great care and cost in renovating the hotel. Often when a hotel renovates there is some small detail in the rooms that betrays its age but this isn't the case. They've done a beautiful job with the rooms and common space. I stayed in the King executive room. It was spacious, comfortable and well decorated. It came with a fridge, microwave, coffee maker and large flat screen tv as well as a nice sized working desk, couch and ottoman. The new bathroom had a full vanity, walk in shower, tile floors and make up mirror. The mattress and bedding were comfortable and good quality. A full buffet breakfast, including coffee and OJ, was included with the room. The staff in the restaurant were friendly and attentive and kept our coffee hot and topped up. The breakfast had something for everyone with a good selection of cold buffet (yogurt, cottage cheese, fruits, cheese, cold cuts & hard boiled eggs), hot buffet (french toast, beans, hash browns, bacon, sausage & scrambled eggs one morning, the other had waffles, frittata, bacon, sausage & potatoes). A large selection of pastries and cereal were provided as well. I ordered room service one night and it came in good time by another friendly staff member. Valet parking is very reasonably priced and wifi was available complimentary in the room. Front desk staff were all helpful and genuinely friendly. The area has a limited number of hotels of this quality at a reasonable price. I'll be staying here for all of my business visits in the KW region.

Tim W.

Yelp
Clean rooms and great service from the front desk but that's about it. Wireless sucked big time for my iPad and iPhone. Several calls to the IT call centre left me thinking they had no control over the wireless. My MacBook had better luck on the last day. If you want to get work done over Wirelss or VPN it's just not reliable enough to be useful. Eggs Benedict in lounge/dining area was more like soft boiled eggs. I ate the eggs (no choice tight deadline) but I couldn't bring myself to eat the bland potatoes or coloured water posing as coffee (okay I'm a bit of a coffee snob though). Didn't eat anything else there after that. Front desk was great though and tried to offset my wireless pain by deducting my parking charges. So unless you have a good data plan this isn't the best place. If you like eggs Benedict and a good coffee you may need to look elsewhere.

Steve L.

Yelp
I stayed there for work the other day and was pleased by the physical appearance. Unfortunately they did not tell me they we doing construction right below me. At 7:30 am they started with the hammer drill and pounding with a hammer, I called the front desk along with others i found out and it stopped. They were kind to offer free breakfast, this did not help the situation there eggs when they did arrived (15min after i told the server)were cold just out of the fridge. and they did not have any coffee. This was their Buffet Be aware they charge for parking $12.00 Next time i will do a better job in my bookings, and ask if there is any renovations going on.

Daniel S.

Yelp
Its a Delta, comparable to a Holiday Inn in the US. The rooms are nothing to write home about but they do have nice balconies that you can walk out on and overlook the pool. The lounge was nice and the staff in the entire hotel were helpful. It wasn't my choice to stay here so I'm not sure that I would ever go back with my own money to play with - I'd probably find something nicer in the area.

Dorothy C.

Yelp
Sucks that the reviews are so bad! Here's our experience... So there's construction here and that was annoying because it made finding the hotel (parking and actually walking into the hotel) difficult. Our first impression was walking through the parking lot to the back of the building where college kids all huddled and smoked together. Once you get into the front lobby it's VERY nice and clean. Newly remodeled, I believe? The room was nice. We got a king bed, decent sized room and bathroom. No issues, really. They have a pool, hot tub, sauna, activity center (ping pong, mini golf, bowling). Don't be fooled! The activities do cost $5 per person to play. The only downside is that to get to the activities you have to walk past the restaurant and front lobby. Gets kind of awkward when you're all dripping wet from the pool, in your bathing suit trying to get back to your hotel room. Wish there was a way to bypass that. The front elevator only goes to the 4th floor so that's not helpful. Another downside is that there happens to be this huge college/uni marketing conference this weekend. Lots of drunk young adults, loud noise, super busy and oh yeah, someone pulled the fire alarm at 3am. Other than that it was great. Everyone has left so the parking lot is empty again and the halls are finally quiet! I would come back again. Hopefully construction will be done. Due to the awkward layout and loud noise/conference people blocking us from accessing the parking lot (I guess they thought we were trying to steal free food?) I take off 1 star. Next time set it up so you're not blocking the exit and we don't have to be interrogated for trying to get to our car.

Lynn C.

Yelp
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here at the Crowne Plaza Kitchener Waterloo.!!!Awesome pool ,gym and super large hot tub. The rooms are very nicely decorated and very comfortable. Super location to downtown and King st. We walked everywhere. Literally a 5 minute taxi ride from train station as well.We had breakfast at the hotel's restaurant Aqua. So lovely and the staff were very friendly. The buffet was delicious and the wait staff went above and beyond with my special request. We will definitely return and I highly recommend Crowne Plaza to anyone

Larry M.

Yelp
The service is wonderful. All staff very friendly. Breakfast buffet is good. Restaurant is clean and well managed. It has improved greatly from my last time there four months ago.

Yelp
DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM- unless you don't mind overpaying, poor customer service and a cancellation policy that changes with the wind. We are getting married at a venue in Kitchener and were looking for a hotel for us and our guests. We've had such a horrible experience that last minute we've needed to change hotels and inform all of our guests. Namit Bhavsar tried to gauge us on the room rates, charging us more than what was even posted on their site open to everyone- nevermind a group discount. When we would call him and leave messages to discuss it, days would go by without response and then he accused us of never calling and never receiving our voice messages. The only way we were able to contact him was to call front desk and have them physically walk over to him with the phone to take the call. The one time this actually worked he then complained that we were bothering him on his lunch. He guaranteed us a shuttle at night time for our guests and then later told us that they no longer offer shuttle services. When we told him we were sick and tired of the horrible treatment we were receiving and didn't want our guests to experience the same, he would not guarantee that we would be able to cancel the existing reservations, even though there was still 6 weeks to go. After all of this, I requested to speak with his manager, Manoj Nair, General Manager, to which our reply has been that he is sick and lost his voice and therefore cannot talk.....that was 3 weeks ago. So clearly no one at this hotel gives a crap about customer service or even common courtesy. With General Managers and Directors acting like this, it's no wonder that even the frontline staff have been rude- look who they have leading them! Our guests that had booked rooms there already have since cancelled. They have had nothing but bad things to say as well. From being hung up on repeatedly, to incorrect charges....the list goes on. I would strongly recommend that you choose one of the other many hotels in the area to save yourself a headache.

Carleigh L.

Yelp
Really annoyed at this inconvenient hotel. I blocked off 20-25 rooms for my wedding and reserved 5 suites. However, the check in time is at 3pm which is when my ceremony starts. When I asked the sales associate, Sarah, if she could put a note on my blocking that we need an early check in for 2, she said there's nothing she can do and the guests will just have to call the morning of for availability. I find this a little ridiculous considering you know it's a blocking for wedding. I could've gone to any other hotel, but I chose yours, and now my guests will literally have to have the inconvenience of not being able to change into their suits quickly before they come/put their bags upstairs. My wedding doesn't end until 1am, so what, are they supposed to check in the next day? Completely annoyed with this, and I wish I never booked any of the suites or rooms with Crowne Plaza. Unfortunately, all the other hotels are now booked up, so my guests literally have no choice anymore... ridiculous.

M S.

Yelp
Just went to Aqua for their brunch buffet. Called ahead, no reservations needed, parking $12 (yeah, whatever! FREE on King St!). Restaurant opens at 7:00 am for breakfast, brunch at 11:00. We went at 11:20 am. No one greeted us in the lobby so we went into the restaurant where no one greeted us there either. We seated ourselves after someone said to sit anywhere, and a girl putting random silverware on the tables told us that they were still setting up. They should have been ready 20 mins ago! There was a lady already in there eating. We waited 10 mins at a table, no one acknowledged us being there or gave us direction. There were bread crumbs all over my placemat that hadn't been used yet today, and there was just a knife on the table. After being ignored for so long, we got up to get out coats and left. No one said anything to us as we got up, did not question us leaving, didn't apologize, nothing! That was the first and LAST time we are going to venture downtown for this place! Save your money and go somewhere else! Nothing has changed!

Kate D.

Yelp
We stayed at Crowne Plaza with our son's hockey team. Hotel staff were fabulous and efficient. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast each morning. Public areas (such as the pool, arcade and bowling lanes) were kept clean and tidy. Our room was clean, comfortable and quiet. A great place to stay!

Emad G.

Yelp
Clean hotel. Great breakfast. Nice amenities. Parking is not good as you have to cross the street in cold. Staff are nice.

Ashley C.

Yelp
I will be checking out tomorrow morning thankfully. It is now eleven and I cannot sleep due to a loud function being held on the second floor. I would call the front desk again but They areunable to assist me as this hotel is fully booked. I cannot change rooms and I cannot tune out the loud drums and bass literally vibrating the walls and window. I know security has been sent to ask them to turn the music down yet again but at this point I was supposed to have been asleep two or three hours ago. I have never disliked a hotel stay more then I have tonight. I was drawn to this hotel by references, the location and the promise of renovations and I feel let down terribly. I could get over the renovations, or lack there of in my case, the quality of towels and the lack of sufficient outlets, but a sleepless night leaves a bad taste is my mouth. Never again. And run if you have an SUV, the parking garage ripped off my antenna because the ceiling is so low. Save you money and go somewhere else, anywhere else. There are lots of options in this city. Don't be fooled by the website.

Edward F.

Yelp
Newly renovated in spring 2014. Very friendly and helpful staff. Nicely appointed rooms. Not extravagant, but definitely above average.

Marianne N.

Yelp
I have booked my hotel stay for later this week, but after many phone calls and conversations with a number of people. There is a link on the hotel's website for 'roomkey' that advertises that it gives you the lowest room rate for IHG members (I am a member). The price listed for IHG members is an attractive price, but when I clicked on the link to book the room, I get redirected to the hotel's main website with a much higher room rate. This is very misleading and I was disappointed that IHG nor the Kitchener hotel was not able to honour the listed room rate for IHG members that was quoted by roomkey. In addition, in anticipation of arriving late Thursday, I called the hotel's desk twice to find out where the parking lot is located. I was told that the parking lot is at Charles and Benton, which according to Googlemaps is more than a block away from the hotel. I think there needs to be clearer information about where to park on the website.
