Crowne Plaza Managua, an IHG Hotel

From the moment we arrived at the hotel, we are welcomed by the porter. Always very kind and helpful. When we show up at the frot desk we are always received very cordially and thank us for being members of the IHG group. very pleased to stay at this hotel every time we visit Nicaragua. The front desk staff very professional and friendly..

nice friendly staff, the bed was very comfortable, and the room had nice views. It was a little small, and right by the elevator, so it was noisy. The food was good. We had dinner and breakfast there. The pool was nice, but it needs to be cleaned.

Poor service from the front end staff. Local knowledge of a major festival was non existent and indifferent. For a major international chain this is inexcusable and i was amazed at the staffs complete apathy. I have travelled extensively over the years and this is the worst I've ever felt and have had to write this review in order for you to rectify this. I don't normally use higher end hotels because of the "corporate" experience and i work in food retail so have some understanding of customer service

I am a traveler and a lawyer so I need to stay connected to most of the times. The wifi was stable and I had a good stay at the hotel not to mention I was recognized as an IHG member which is valuable on my end. I was given the opportunity to do an extended check-out while I wait for my vehicle enroute to Granada. I would recommend the hotel for a transient stay in Managua.

My experience at the Crowne Plaza Managua left much to be desired. I was initially assigned a room on the third floor, but the overpowering smell of mildew made it uninhabitable. I was moved to a junior suite on the fourth floor as compensation, but the experience didn’t improve much. The suite’s carpet was stained, the bathroom was small and poorly designed, and to my surprise, the hotel doesn’t offer small face towels. The air conditioning vents were filthy and emitted an unpleasant odor, though not as bad as the third floor. To make matters worse, the bed was as uncomfortable as cardboard, offering no support or comfort. On a positive note, the staff was friendly and accommodating. However, the hotel itself is outdated and desperately in need of remodeling. I wouldn’t recommend staying here until significant improvements are made.

check in at 5 pm and room not ready (20 min waiting time). Hot water in shower not present, after complaining, nothing changed for the entire stay, water was basically just lukewarm. had to ask twice for a second towel (with 2 ppl occupancy) in two days. The room was quite dated with spots in the bathroom. Elevator stucked with only 4 people inside (no signs about maximum weight or people). Pros: Very good breakfast and friendly attentive staff, free and secure parking. Overall would not stay again specially because of the shower issue.

The first room I was given had a strong, unpleasant smell, probably from humidity. The second room also had the same smell, but it wasn’t as strong. The carpet on the third floor smelled bad and looked poorly maintained. Despite this, the staff’s service and the quality of the food were excellent.
