Cruisin' Genoa

It has been a while since we visited this restaurant. And I would like to say that the team working last Friday evening was fantastic. Our server.Mara was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and very efficient in her service. Everything was delivered as we asked. We ordered two appetizers the crabcakes and bruschetta both very good and also very filling. The soup we had was excellent and my wife had a sandwich which was excellent and I had the chicken tenders which were probably the best I’ve had in a long time. I would also like to complement the manager, Jess, who also did a fantastic job at keeping things moving in a very busy environment.

The food is always excellent here. They have a large selection of sides including potato pancakes. We love their fish fry .The shrimp and fish are fried perfect. The prices are more than reasonable for the amount of food you get.

Bartender was very personable. Ordered meatloaf meal. Yum!!!!! I will be back. Had an appletini, good but at Lil on the sweet side. Of course I guess. Cute Lil place for some "home cooking" recipes.

Nice little place! Both my husband and I got the smash burger and it did not disappoint. Server was great, friendly and didn’t miss a beat. Would go back again!

I stopped in town to visit a local heroes grave (1LT Brian Slavenas), and decided to visit the downtown for dinner. A great community, great food, and amazing people. Genoa should remain a proud small town. Thanks Brian for calling me here! God bless.

Had the best pulled pork sandwich with the perfect balance of smoke, sweet and flavor with a really excellent quality of meat. The fries were perfectly crisp, lightly golden brown, and a generous portion. The staff went out of their way to ensure I was completely satisfied with my meal and made it a pleasant dining experience. I highly recommend this place if your looking for a good fashioned American cuisine meal

The place is cool looking and the staff was super friendly. The potato pancakes were essentially hash browns in my opinion but the Meatloaf was so good. Next time in the area will be back.

Such good food and drinks for unbeatable prices! Love coming here to dine in, they sometimes have game nights and other fun activities that are fun. We have ordered take out before, drove all the way home to see half our food missing so I guess double check your bags if you’re doing that. The staff is always so nice and quality is consistent.

I really like this restaurant and bar. It has such a nice comfortable relaxed vibe. It is decorated really cool too. All the staff was nice. The chicken wings have crispy skin yet are juicy. They were cooked just right. You can get them tossed in a bunch of sauces. Probably some of the best wings I have ever had with yummy blue cheese dressing. The patty melt was delicious with perfectly crisp tater tots. My burger was big and good. The prices are very reasonable. I'll be back!

Prompt service and delivery went excellent . Price was reasonable and food arrived still hot. The food was edible and tasted well. I ordered buffalo wings and wasn't wild about them they were for me not crispy like I prefer not the blame on them.

we were out for a drive and ended up at Cruisin for lunch. The decor is super cool and our server Jennifer was very nice & attentive. We felt right at home. I chose the Friday cod dinner special and my hubby got the smash burger. His burger was juicy & delicious complimented with perfectly seasoned fries. My meal was fantastic. The fish was huge and was very crunchy. It was so large that i needed help To finish it. Plus the generous salad and potato. We will definitely be back! I wish I could share the photos I took.

My husband and I have been eating here for 4 years. Last week I found out they were hiring and Jordan hired me. Yesterday was my 1st day and I was over the moon happy. The food and plate presentation is amazing, the restaurant is very clean and the most important the staff was very helpful, great teamwork and polite. If your in or near Genoa Illinois this restaurant is a must try, a gem in a small town.

One of my mom's favorite go tos for our Friday night dinner! The food is always very tasty and hot! Service is exceptional it's kinda like Cheers where everyone knows your name! I love the oriental chicken salad! The dressing is a little sweet and slightly spicy, but very filling! Mom always gets the steak sandwich and it never disappoints!

Place was great. Really really good food, shockingly good actually. Nice ambiance, super friendly and attentive staff. Good times. Highly recommend.

The meals wear great everything very fresh and the taste was great, the service was very good the waiter was very polite and did a great job taking orders and also the bar and restaurant had a great atmosphere

Response from Cruising did not deal with what my main concern is with them! We ordered their rib dinner special & the Ribs were overcooked, the fries we're not fresh & I mentioned that the coleslaw had been consistently bad. We had previously ordered this when it was not on special & when it was. Both times the ribs & fries were very good. I tried to contact this restaurant at the time we received the poor quality ribs & fries but no one would answer the phone. This was a pick up order & did not bother to drive back there. I wouldn't have responded now if they had not tried to make it sound as if the only problem I had with their food was the Coleslaw!

I admit that I've cruised right by this place a million times and never stopped. Perhaps it was the sign and the nondescript facade, I just had the impression it was more of a bar that served a couple of burgers than a restaurant that served beer. I recently found myself hungry in Genoa and decided to stop. I was elated to see that it's a hidden gem of a family oriented restaurant that also has a bar. We had the steaks and broiled chicken, fried green beans, asparagus, mac and cheese, and mashed potatoes. The food was promptly served, tasted great, and I will return. The place was very clean like it's just been remodeled, and the barmaid/waitress was friendly, informative, and timely. She said they are offering nightly specials on social media to encourage people to stop in and give them a try. The prices are reasonable for the current climate of food costs and the dining experience was worth the price. My only regret is denying myself this friendly atmosphere and delicious food for so long. I will definitely be Cruisin' back to Genoa to try their burgers next time.

New in town. Stopped here for it's a friend to grab a bite to eat. Loved it, nice people and great tips with the menu. I brought my family back which they enjoyed it as well. Definitely a nice place to be. Warm welcoming and cozy.

Year 3 of this place having no AIR CONDITIONING!!! Not a way to run a restaurant. Just drive by if the garage doors are open keep on driving! Maybe if the owner stopped flushing what ever low profits he makes into the slot machines they could hire a repair man!

Food was cold. Lacked taste. My chicken wrap was soaking wet instead of being dry. I ordered onion rings and they were by far the worst onion rings I had.

Stopped in with a large group. Everything went smooth. Orders taken, waitress followed up to make sure we were having a good dining experience and super friendly and professional. We all ordered different fish and everyone was extremely happy. I had the French onion soup and it was very good!!! We all want to go back and try the pizza. It looked amazing.

Visiting my in laws and we decided to try this place. It's relatively new and their menu is massive. My in laws had tried it once before and loved the wings and pizza. This time we ordered the surf and turf as well as some others items. Everything was delicious and kept well for carry out. Great flavors and fresh food. The filet melted in your mouth. Two small complaints but one of the steaks was very rare and was supposed to be medium, even still it was good meat. The other big one was one of the servers was maskless. That's a big deal for us even when picking up fold, because my FIL has emphysema and we're extra careful. Put the mask on and they'll be back regularly for carry out!

Rude staff, was told to leave immediately after walking in for the very first time. Would absolutely not recommend

I gotta say, I love this place! They opened right before shutdown and have just kept getting better and better! I love the steak sandwich and spinach artichoke pizza if you're hungryyyyyyyy! Nice servers, too! Good locally owned business who seems to have a very happy crew, xoxo thanks for the good vibes!

I quite literally have never had a bad experience here. The worst thing to ever happen to me there was not getting to eat there. When I'm there, I feel out of place in such a heavenly establishment. Food is always a 10/10 and the service is impeccable. Everytime I go I get the same waiter and be might be the coolest guy I've ever met. I'm pretty sure this restaurant was conceived by the avatar of a celestial deity.

My husband and I were so disgusted with this establishment we may never return. While out for our date night at the bar we had a front row row seat to left of us to watch one young man standing around picking his nose and putting his fingers in his eyes and to the right of us a second young man openly discussing with customers how he was ill and working while his mouth was killing him because he had sores all over the inside of his mouth! We were appalled. This young man was touching everything in the area with no mask on at the same time. I complained to the manager about losing my appetite and received excuses about the first young man just having his nose pierced. In the end our meal was credited but my husband and I will probably never return after the lack of concern on their part for health guidelines and proper procedures to protect their customers and food from contamination.

Four stars because of the Italian beef pizza! Order a side of Au Jus for dipping. The Cesar salad was good. Decent joint if you're look for tasty no frills food. We had it delivered so I can't comment on the atmosphere.

Great food and friendly staff. Best steak sandwich around. The pizza was really good as well. I will be back often.

This place is very cute. All the food we ordered was very tasty. The prices are ok. The service was excellent!

Can't see making it back. Food was OK. Could not get drinks refilled. Disappointing considering the amount of staff they had there. Cleanliness, well.....

Very disappointing! Came there for the pizza but decided to get the fish fry once we heard a server apologizing that the pizza oven was backed up and there was a long wait. Waited over TEN MINUTES for my cocktail and my husband's beer after our server took our order and MULTIPLE servers were just standing around before we finally received our drinks. Very frustrating. Finally got my shrimp and they were more than half the size smaller than normal. Almost like popcorn shrimp. Would've ordered something different if I would've known. Used to be great. This place has really gone downhill since the last time we visited. Doubt we'll go back again.

I went to Cruisin this week for the first time and it was delicious! The food was hot and yummy. I had the fajita wrap and my husband had the Chipotle wrap. Mine was amazing and his was good, but he said it didn't have enough spice for him. Either way, it was really good food. The service was fantastic and it's a really cool place with all the diner decor. We will definitely be back soon.

Good food, reasonably priced and very nice staff. Good place for a quick meal! They're cream of chicken rice soup with green Chili's is amazing!

After hearing about his place being highly spoke of i decided to give it a try and the very first order i make is a nightmare and mediocre food. Not to mention every single order was wrong, lack of reading simple instructions as easy as no tomato was messed up. And to top it off, i had asked for delivery and when they arrived we had missing items so they had to drive back and bring the missing item in another 15 minutes. A very simple order turned into a nightmare. I'll be spending my money somewhere else.

Ordered around 5:40pm they said it was going to be about 1 hr 30 minutes that was fine but then they came without the pizza which was mostly for the kids good thing my husband was able to catch the driver before he left and told him about it so we had to wait longer to get the pizza. The food was ok nothing special the pizza was literally butchered the ranch dipping sauce tasted like fish not worth the $80

This place has really great food and a good variety. The staff are very nice and friendly. Only issue I have is forgotten items. We didn't receive guacamole and dressing once. And our sandwich didn't have the extra cheese on it. We were charged for it but didn't want to go back. The food was too good. So only removing one star for a few missing items. We double check all the food now. Overall a great place to go.

Two friends and I were visiting the winery, Prairie State Winery, across the street. We loved our visit there and tasted some wonderful wines in their beautiful back patio. Unfortunately, their dining was closed but we were offered the opportunity to order from Cruisin. We had potato skins, steak fajita wrap with their onion rings and a veggie wrap with sweet potato fries. Everything was delicious and the portions were more than ample. We called in our order from the winery and a pleasant gentleman delivered the food directly to our table on the patio of the winery. Wonderful to see two establishments working so well together.

Whet there with my best friend got great service won three pounds of bacon and the food was amazing love this place Genoa really needed this! I even applied here for a job I loved the environment so much!
