Crunch gym has two types of clubs: Signature and non-Signature. Signature clubs offer a few perks that non-signature clubs don't offer (i.e. steam room, sauna). A basic signature club membership is $120 a month. A non-signature club membership is $22 a month.
I'm a member of Crunch Rochdale, which is a non-Signature club. Crunch Rochdale is clean and there are a plethora of machines. The people who go there, however, are annoying. There are guys hog the bench press. They'll do one set, spend 5 minutes on their phone, and then do another set. They also use a few NSFW words. The women at Crunch Rochdale are wannabe influencers who make lame Instagram videos.
I wanted to quit Crunch Rochdale and join a Signature club. However, I wasn't willing to pay $120 a month to work out. I devised a plan. If you're a member of a non-Signature club then you can buy a day pass for a Signature club for $10. With that in mind, I decided to go to Rochdale 3 times a week and Midtown East twice a week. I would do light workouts at Rochdale and heavy workouts at Midtown East.
Midtown East is clean and full of people who are serious about getting into shape. No one hogs the machines. It's right next to Grand Central Terminal. And after you're done working out, you can take the elevator to the lobby of the Lexington Hotel and hang out with high society people. My only complaint about Midtown East is the price.
