I recently travelled to Carrick-on-Shannon for a night away and had made a confirmed booking online in advance. Upon arrival at the hotel, we approached reception to check in as any guest normally would. However, we were informed that the hotel was fully booked and that no room was available for us, despite our valid reservation. We were advised to contact the online booking agency ourselves to arrange a refund.
Unfortunately, we also found the attitude and manner of the staff to be very poor and unhelpful during this situation, which made the experience even more disappointing. Based on how we were treated, we felt unfairly handled and left questioning the circumstances around the refusal. Overall, this was a very negative experience, and I would not recommend this hotel.
