"Lined with about a mile of white sand and backed by scenic mountains, Crystal Lake's rich history dates back to the 1700s. The bathhouse with restrooms and a concession stand is made from granite mined from the nearby hills. The lake's cold waters are filled to the brim with rainbow trout, smallmouth bass, pumpkinseed, and yellow perch, among others, making it great for anyone who prefers to spend their beach days casting a line instead of swimming or serving a volleyball. It's a wonderful place to spend the night. There's an on-site cottage stocked with all the necessities (including a canoe) available for rent." - Travel + Leisure Editors
It was closed for the season, but we parked at the school / church playground and walked down. Got some great fall pics even with the rainy looking sky.

Crystal Lake lives up to its name. Beautifully situated between the hills this lake has water that you can see through to the bottom (which the kids loved), sand all the way out in the swimming area, a clean beach with plenty of space, and picnic areas and ample parking. A great place for a day on the lake and perfect for families.

It is a beautiful clean lake. The state park on the north end is easy parking beautiful sand and a nice large old building for bathrooms and changing. Also, I find that everyone is surprisingly nice there.

Crystal Lake Park has a nice accessible beach for swimming and kayaking. Kids love it. They have a small entrance fee per person. The lake is crystal clear hence the name.

Easy to access, inexpensive, great for a quick dip - there are restrooms, playground, beach and picnic tables.

Update: july ‘23. Visited last july. Same as below. There is a grill so you just have to bring your own grill cleaner and charcoal. Picnic tables are ample.
Clear water. Grills are a bit rusty. Carpark is spacious. Cleanliness is fair. View is awesome, worth the $4 entrance for an adult.

The lake is in fact crystal clear! Plenty of room for parking and setting up your picnic blanket or tent. Grounds and beaches are well maintained Important to note though that the concession stand is CASH ONLY. So if you need any snacks, drinks, sweets or park merch you definitely want to have cash on hand.

Beautiful park! They make it super difficult to rent a kayak or paddle board. It's almost like they don't want to be there. The only take cash at the actual rental house but you have to go back to the entrance to use a debit or credit card. The person running the rentals was on lunch and it was going to be less than 2 hours to be able to rent anything anyway. Plus there are no garbage cans by the picnic tables or anywhere other than maybe inside the building. Plus $4 a person for what? 🤷🏼
