The Best Antique Stores and Flea Markets, According to the Pros

"Why it's great: This place has a number of dealers spread over four floors, who sell a bit of everything, including furniture, lighting, and collectibles. What to look for: One dealer, named Designs of Modernity, specializes in Scandinavian, British, and American 20th Century design. My father and stepmother just purchased a lovely rosewood and black leather sofa by Hans Wagner there."

This place is an absolute treasure trove for anyone who appreciates history, craftsmanship, and unique finds. The building is packed floor to ceiling with an eclectic mix of antiques—from elegant Victorian furniture to mid-century modern pieces. Highly recommended for collectors, decorators, or anyone who just enjoys beautiful things with a story behind them!

I love a good antique shop! It was my first time here, and I can appreciate the efforts behind these hidden gems. It's located on top of the hill in Crystal Palace and just off the triangle. I was amazed at how big the place was, with three stories of beautiful items and a good array of choices and would recommend a visit 💯 You can park in and around the area reasonably straightforward but would suggest going at a less busy time for access reasons around the area, and Crystal palace station is a few minute's walks. Friendly staff and welcoming, see you again soon. Solid A***** LDT x

Wow, this is such an amazing warehouse packed full of antiques, mid-century modern and vintage furniture, lighting, decorative objects and home accessories. it is a must visit shop if you are looking for something amazing for your home, a prop for theatre of a film. Make sure you visit. I took a lot of pictures for a story I wrote in my blog, so am posting quite a few for you to take a look.

I have been coming here for years. The reason I return is the antiques are top quality, presented in an attractive way so you don't have to hunt for what you need. Furthermore, the antiques are often so unusual and often exceptionally stylish. There is a large range of mid century furniture often designer and then you will also find antique furniture from other time periods in smaller quantities. The furniture and accessories can range from all over the world but is typically English. You won't find a lot of smaller knick knacks, this is more a place for furniture. In comparison to other places you might find antiques most of the furniture is restored or in excellent condition. The furniture is well spread out so it is possible to cast your eye for what you want. It is spread out over three floors and a basement and will take approximately half an hour to see everything.

Spread over 4 ? floors a miscellany of mostly household furniture, light fittings, mirrors, decorative objects with “wood” probably the defining denominator. Largely covering the ‘well-traveled’ 19-20th.Century period - the usual stylistic terrain - mostly in good condition or professionally restored. Impressive depth and arranged advantageously for appraisal.

This is a lovely place.. absolutely a treasure trove of fun things to buy! We bought a Japanese pine tea table and a shoe rack which we are repurposing as a dining bench. The people who work there are also do friendly... And helpful

I'm a huge fan of Crystal Palace Antiques. Sited in a former warehouse, just off the "Triangle", there are four large floors of antiques and collectables. The emphasis is on furniture and decorative items like mirrors and pictures. There is something for everyone with Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian alongside vintage and fabulous quality mid century modern. I've bought lots here over the years.. and I always go in to browse when I'm in Crystal Palace. Oh - and very friendly and helpful staff.

Yelp
Brilliant service, good range of antique and more modern furniture all reasonably priced. I purchased a chest of drawers about 11am Sunday morning, and it was delivered 3pm that afternoon. Bearing on mind I'm about 8 miles away, I was pleasantly surprised to get that level of service. We'll worth a visit, and definitely worth the 45 minute bus journey to get there. I'll be back.

Yelp
Like Katie, I'm very tempted to give this a 1 and say 'it's rubbish, don't bother' because I want to keep it a secret. But she shared it with me, so I should spread the love. I've spent far too much time exploring this cavernous place searching for the ideal [insert current interior obsession here]. The prices are actually very reasonable and anyone with a passion for vintage homewares, antiques or just plain old good value bits and bobs for the home should definitely give it a go. The only thing I would say is it's a bit difficult to know who to talk to about buying things and to work out what's for sale and what's still being touched up because - like so many places in Crystal Palace - it's so small and friendly that I never know who's an employee and who's a shopper!

Yelp
I'm torn between wanting to tell the world about this excellent 4-storey antiques warehouse that stocks hundreds of reasonably-priced second hand stuff that you usually pay 3x more for in Spitalfields, and wanting to keep really really quiet about this hidden gem of a shop. After all, the busier it gets, the fewer lovely antiques there are for me and the rest of Crystal Palace to fill our flats.

Yelp
Can't afford to do out my flat like a ww2 war cabinet bunker, but when I can I know where to go.

Yelp
An interesting place which is tucked away and cavernous. I would say that it is more akin to a junk shop rather than an antiques shop. The pricing is somewhat hit and miss but that is part and parcel of what you would expect.

Yelp
Most of our funiture came from here. The range of stock is vast but the turn over is really quick so if you see something you like buy it there and then or someone else will have it. The staff/dealers are very knowledgable and from my experience enjoy discussing anything antique related. Also if your looking for something specific and they don't have one at that time they will take your contact details and try their best to find it for you.

Yelp
I really enjoy browsing through Crystal Palace because you just never know what you might come across. There are so many hidden treasures there and they are reasonably prices so I had no problem turning one of the small rooms that I didn't really use in my apartment into a war bunker cabinet. The best part is that even if they don't have the specific thing that you are looking for they will put a lot of effort in order to find it and give you a call when they do.
