Not 5-Star Luxury — More Like 3-Star Basic
I don’t understand how this property is rated 5 stars. At best, it’s equivalent to a standard Holiday Inn in the U.S. It’s clean and sufficient, but far from a luxury experience.
The staff have a very “no” mentality, and assistance isn’t offered proactively. For example, there’s no ramp at the entrance, so you have to carry your luggage up the stairs yourself. Reception mentioned we could use the clearly marked handicap elevator, which felt awkward rather than accommodating.
Our sea view room is about the size of a cruise ship cabin — very small, with a noticeable musty smell. The pool is tiny with just a couple of lounge chairs. We read that there are more facilities, but staff didn’t provide any information about the property, amenities, Wi-Fi, or restaurants. We’ll have to give ourselves a tour.
The lobby bathroom could double as a housekeeping closet, which says a lot about the lack of detail.
All in all, this hotel is fine if you view it as a 3-star property with 3-star service. It’s functional and clean, but there are no frills, and it should not be marketed as luxury.
