CSI Christ Church

One of the oldest churches in the city, comes under the CSI Central Kerala Diocese. Sunday worships start with the Tamil service (At 5:45 am), followed by English (At 7:15 am) and Malayalam (at 9:45 am). Hindi evening worships are also conducted. Church compound is surrounded by roads on 3 sides. An ancient coffin bier (ശവമഞ്ചം) has been refurbished and preserved in a see through, well protected glass shed. Lush green and eco-friendly campus. A lot of trees and are tagged with their common and botanical names. Quite a few uncommon trees mentioned in the Bible are also seen. A Centenary hall, Common vault, a small upper hall above the washroom facilities and Children's play area are also a present at the premises. Parking areas can accommodate less than 50 cars.

A peaceful place, even though it is surrounded by busy roads. A cemetery surrounds the entire church. The noise problem with the roads nearby are almost well dealt with.

Behavior of some people in church premises was very disappointing. When i entered the church to visit it a person came and talked rudely by saying me not to visit the church.

Church created for the Christian in you. Built by the British for the Madras Presidency and has the tubular bells which is one of a kind and not present anywhere in the world. Its age exceeds more than 200 years which makes it a vintage heritage.
