A sweet restaurant in Oban with great value ratio. The food was with quality and for lunch set, the price was unbeatable. The chowder was creamy and well seasoned, thick and rich. The mussels themselves are fresh and well cooked. The shrimps were a tiny bit over fried though. Servers were nice and helpful. Only thing is there was a bell at the kitchen reminding readiness at kitchen which was a bit annoying when sitting closed to it. Alfresco seems very nice too just over looking at the water front.

Loved this gem of a place. We were 6 people and came for a late lunch without a reservation. 3 of us had the Sunday roast and it was a great price. I had the venison lasagna with cheddar cheese and WOW it was delicious.

Google
Our light lunch at this dog friendly restaurant on a day trip to Oban on a grey December day was the highlight of the visit. Full of Christmas revellers and shoppers, the atmosphere was warm and friendly . The staff on duty were all polite and professional and the food ordered was delicious. The chowder was creamy and well seasoned, thick and rich. The mussels were fresh and well cooked, served in a flavoursome sauce. Last but not least - the Apple and Watermelon Mocktail was delightful. All extremely good value for money.

Google
The mussels at this pub were hands down the freshest and most flavorful I’ve ever had—perfectly cooked and bursting with briny, ocean-fresh goodness. The pub itself is warm, inviting, and full of charm, making it an ideal spot to relax, especially on a chilly day. They offer a fantastic selection of spiked hot drinks, which adds to the cozy atmosphere. Their lunch menu is equally impressive, featuring generous portions at excellent prices, making it a great value for the quality. The fish and chips were exceptional—crispy, golden batter with tender, flaky fish inside, easily among the best I’ve ever had. If you’re looking for a cozy pub with outstanding food, hearty portions, and a welcoming vibe, this spot is a must-visit.

Having a meal with my friend's, it's my first time eating here. I was so disappointed about food, it looks like It stood for a few days and was then heated up in the microwave. Only drinks are good there,

Google
Nice restaurant. Met some friendly people. Service was faultless....we had a young 19 year old lad who was brilliant, made you feel welcome, very attentive and had a great sense of humour. Absolutely made it for us! Food, of course delicious. Would highly recommend prawn and avocado starters and the ribs and bbq sauce were amazing; proper sized ribs, loads and tasty. Cant remember the name of the desert but it had a coconut snowball on top and was delicious. Thanks

Google
We stayed in Oban for a week and ate here twice. The burger I ordered (twice) was the nicest burger I have eaten out anywhere. The staff were lovely and friendly. The gluten free menu was clear and well thought out. Not really a fan of eating out as usually it is poor value for money. That absolutely is not the case here. Cuan Mor is clearly a place where the owners and staff care about the business. I absolutely recommend it and wish you all well.

Google
Despite the description this place DOES NOT HAVE ITS OWN CRAFT BREWERY. You cannot make reservations. The food was good and the service good. We went because of the description but the staff said they have no control over Google Map’s description. Also because of the brisket but it wasn’t as great as we hoped but it was good. We shared a platter between two of us and I’m glad we did as it would’ve been too much for me.

Yelp
Back to Oban! We walked on in to Cuan Mor for dinner (no reservations after 4,:00, unless it's for six or more). Told it's gonna be an hour. It was about 35 minutes. Doable. We just had items from the starter menu. I had the seafood chowder and onion rings. My goodness that chowder! Thick. Creamy. Mussels in the shell. Fish. Potato. Perfect seasoning. That was one great bowl! Onion rings? We've all had lousy ones. These were anything but that! Crisp. Not greasy. Done perfectly! My wife got the salmon pate. More of a smoked salmon spread. Delicious. Menu says horseradish is on the mix. Nether of us tasted it. Not a complaint at all. This was a great spread. She also got the soup of the day, tomato-basil. Luxuriously thick and smooth. Plenty of both tomato and basil flavor. It also has a slight spicy kick to it, which was really nice. Loud and busy place. Service a bit slow. We would come back tho.

Yelp
Yes, please highly recommended by many locals. Unfortunately, for me, even in the off-season, it got amazingly crowded, wait for table was going to be an hour and a half so we passed. I will say the menu look great. The inside is very inviting and it looks very clean environment. Will try it next time we're in town.

Yelp
Waited 45 minutes for our order on a Tuesday night. Order was wrong. Service was inattentive. Food was mostly bland. The best part of my meal at Cuan Mor was the unexpected fried Haggis that accompanied my steak frites. Because I wasn't expecting it, I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious it was! Otherwise the meal was mostly disappointing. My steak was under-seasoned, and sub par quality, although I ordered it medium rare.and it was served as such. It was drenched in a creamy peppercorn sauce, which barely tasted of pepper. The fries were good and thin and crispy, and it came with a few onion rings which I enjoyed, but the steak itself was a disappointment. I did enjoy the mussels we had as an appetizer, but then we had to wait almost an hour for our main course. My kids burger came out wrong and he was pretty sad about it after waiting nearly an hour. Wine selection was sub average for this part of the world. Skip this place.

Yelp
After a visit at the Oban Distillery, go next door and enjoy some great Fried Fish at Chan Mor! FAST Food: I ordered the Fried Sole & Prawns and we also got some wings and fries. The sole is thinner than the usual Cod, but really good. The prawns were fried too and really good. My dish also came with a small corn on the cob. Atmosphere: very nice Pub feel, with current music playing in the background. They have a full bar, which we didn't partake in because we just had our full next door. Service: a truly international team, our waiter was from Hungry, another from Malaysia and of course at least one local. Everyone was very nice and our food was brought out quickly. Tip: grab two tables by the front window and look out over the bay.

Alisha A.

Yelp
My husband and I had an absolutely amazing time at this restaurant. The spicy corn ribs were tasty! My husband enjoyed the Vegan Katsu Curry- he found it very flavorful! I really liked the Homemade Steak Pie- the gravy is amazing. For dessert I had the best Sticky Toffee Pudding I've ever had- I'd recommend getting it with a scoop of vanilla and my husband loved the Speculoos Cheesecake with the vegan cream. We liked the busy ambiance and were pleased that even during a busy evening, our waitress was attentive, food was flavorful and everything came out in a timely manner. We have already recommended to friends and family.

Claire W.

Yelp
A nice meal on a couple of nights, the chicken pot pie was especially pleasing, and the location right on the water meant a nice view from almost table.

Tim S.

Yelp
Came here on a whim and a recommendation of a couple who walked out as we were reading the menu on the wall outside..

Michael D.

Yelp
Our tour guide recommended this place for lunch. After entering I was ignored for a good 5 minutes. When I was finally acknowledged I was seated right away. I ordered the lunch special seafood chowder for about £10. As it was billed as the lunch special I expected the portion to be larger than it was. It was a cup not a bowl. Service was TERRIBLE. The server seemed pretty incompetent and it took 40 minutes for someone to ladle soup into a bowl.

John T.

Yelp
Food is good, we'll made and tasty. The kitchen cares about the presentation of the dishes. The dark wood paneling sets a nice ambience. The staff was friendly and attentive and they helped each other out helping food come out quickly while still hot. I definitely recommend a visit!

Amy W.

Yelp
When you want a great weekend away, Oban is such a great place to be! Island hopping and some amazing food makes this village a highlight for every guest that comes to visit Scotland. One of our favourite places to eat is Cuan Mor! Right on the bay, the atmosphere is fun and the food so good! We just had to have the steak pie and stayed for way longer than we should have...but it really is a great place to relax and enjoy the evening . Well done all!!!

Yelp
Stopped for lunch on a rainy day but managed to sit outside and watch the world go by. Had the seafood soup and skinny fries, was good, rich and creamy. Husband had chicken katsu which he enjoyed (especially since he's had trouble on this trip given he doesn't like fish!). Service was good, no complaints at all.

Lloyd M.

Yelp
Surprisingly good lunch. Had the Haggis Scotch Egg with onion rings instead of chips. Scotch egg cooked perfectly, generous portion of haggis, egg not over or under cooked. Onion rings not too greasy. Price reasonable. Nothing to complain about.

Jason J.

Yelp
Really liked this gastropub style pub (as in, not a traditional style pub) in the heart of Oban. It was very full, but service was still pretty decent. Service in Europe is very different from America so you've gotta modify the bar a little, but we were happy with our experience. We had read online that it used to be a brewery, so we tried to order beers made there, but the server kind of didn't understand what we were asking and what we wanted - but we ended up with tasty relatively local beers that did the trick. I ordered the Steak and Ale pie and it was absolutely giant, and sadly a little bland. Scottish food is often that, I guess. But while hearty and warm and filling it left a bit to be desired. It felt almost incomplete. Perhaps my brain was wanting shepherd's pie and that was as close as I could get and so that was the dissonance. I'm not sure we'll ever make it back to Oban, but if we do, we'd stop here again. Right in the middle isn't bad, it's just not fabulous. Good atmosphere, decent food, good beers. Don't hesitate to check it out!

Yelp
Oban was a lunch stop on the Scottish Highlands tour I took at the end of April 2019. Our driver recommended a popular, beloved fish and chips place but when you have to eat gluten-free, what do you do? I imagined my entire lunch break time would be consumed by a meal here, but I was happily surprised by the quickness of the service on a Sunday afternoon, no less. Two different and pleasant staff members ensured my drink and food orders were taken quickly. I ordered two starters: local smoked salmon with leaves and slices of baguette and black pudding served Hebridian style with potato mash and a soft-boiled egg, sat atop a potato rosti. What can I say about the salmon? As an American, I'm (sadly) used to the overly salted stuff that comes from the grocery store, sealed in plastic and on a suspiciously shiny gold backboard. Oh my word. This salmon was perfectly soft and buttery. I was actually surprised it came with a salad, which was very welcome. Not fishy at all, it didn't need the lemon wedge provided. I like black pudding. I mean, I really like black pudding. I've had it on many occasions around the UK. This one was less spicy and assertive than others I had, but the presentation of the food was gorgeous. Layer upon layer of loveliness were revealed as I sliced through the potato-covered 'snowman' and the perfectly poached egg. On a good day, it must be amazing to sit in one of the tables outside. Yes, I came at lunchtime and could have saved £10 by ordering a land meat enchilada lunch special, I see that one of the commenters did exactly this and moaned about it. But WHY ON EARTH would you order meat at a seafood restaurant???

Kel P.

Yelp
Very lovely lunch joint at town of Oban! The waitress was lovely, staffs were friendly and good thing the food loved up to the standard too! Great value and decent food. Nice pub. Sadly ran out of baileys!

Yelp
Came in here for dinner during our stay in Oban. It was packed, and there was a long wait. We put our name in and had drinks at the bar while we waited. We did the seafood sampler as an appetizer. The Scottish style smoked salmon was outstanding as was the smoked pickled mackerel. The shrimp salad was very mayonnaise-heavy and not enjoyable. The crab cake mix of sorts was great. The regular lox (cured salmon) was solid. For mains, the local salmon fillet was a hit. The smoked cod loin was rich and soft in texture, through the mash potato base added a powdery mouthfeel that didn't work well with the subtle texture of cod making the fish itself taste worse. I ordered the whole grilled sea bream, which was beautiful on the plate with sweet potato fries as a side. The sea bream was slightly overcooked and not really seasoned. The skin could use heavy rock salt but instead seems to have been first basted with soy sauce - a combo that didn't work at all. The sweet potato fries were very good. Our service was very slow but friendly and enthusiastic. They were just totally slammed for the peak tourist season, so I understand.

Yelp
Decent but not exciting, the decor drew me in but the menu could be better. Interestingly, 'Cuan Mor' literally means "Big Bay", whereas the town 'Oban' literally means "Little Bay". Beers are on the more expensive side, and you can definitely find a cheaper brew (and meal) elsewhere, but for £7.99 they do have a good range of lunch specials. My partner and I shared 2 small dishes & a lunch special (chicken pate, smoked salmon, and serve of mussels and chips). None really stood out to me as exceptional but they weren't bad either. I think the mussels could've been fresher, considering Oban is the Seafood Capital of Scotland, but they were still nice. I'd revisit if they spruced up their offerings a bit. All in all, not a bad bite, but I was hungry for more.

Yelp
Nice place, food was good. Cocktails sounded awesome. Cool ambiance. Flexible with the menu (I'm lactose intolerant). Would go back.

Ee D.

Yelp
Good food . Service was also good. The seafood was very fresh. Had a wonderful dinner in Oban...

Samantha G.

Yelp
I liked the food we ordered but am taking away 1 star because of the bathrooms which were odorous and disgusting. Ambiance: Great, right across from the Oban Harbour with great views. Service: Adequate, they have a little gadget to take your order. Took about 45 minutes to get the food and they didn't check in after we were served. Food: Typical pub fare. I really enjoyed the venison crostini as an appetizer and got the fried sea bass for a main. I liked the crisp fish and the new potatoes with a creamy red pepper sauce. My boyfriend got the chicken burger and was underwhelmed. Fries (chips) are coated in something and wedge-shaped. Drinks: Reasonably-priced wine and a whisky selection. Bathrooms: Upstairs and the stench of urine hits you as soon as you step onto the stairwell. Ladies room had plenty of stalls but no toilet seats and metal toilets that look and smell like porta pottys. Upgrade your facilities and clean them up a bit.

Michael G.

Yelp
Good food. Horrible service. We ordered the seafood platter, which was ok. I prefer to have seafood without sauces or be notified on the menu if a sauce will be placed atop. As someone who dislikes mayonnaise, I need to know if a remoulade, aioli, or whatever... is going to be drizzled on. Totally ruined the fresh crab meat for me. We also ordered a sea bass special. It was very good. The problem was we waited about 40 minutes after we got the seafood platter before the sea bass arrived. No one checked in on us. Basically one of us ate the ok seafood platter and the other person, me, waited for the waiter, who disappeared and did not check in on us. After 40 minutes, I was pretty angry and almost cancelled the order since I was going to be eating by myself at this point. The sea bass was very good but unfortunately I was pretty pissed off by the time it arrived.

Daniel K.

Yelp
Really cool pub in Oban right next to the distillery. Place has a much more modern feel to it than other places we visited. Full bar with a great array of drafts, especially since they have their own house brews. Food was right on. Loved their steamed mussels. Nice light garlic flavor in a delicious cream sauce, which we pretty much devoured with baguettes. Salmon was well-prepared. Not too fishy or salty as I'd experienced when it came to seafood in other parts of Scotland. It was tender, just right. They have a lot of other bar foods, including burgers, wings, haddock & chips. Actually, the haddock & chips was also pretty tasty. A couple of my buddies ordered it. Nice, thick pieces of fish, lightly fried with batter. Wasn't the heavy, greasy variety. Would definitely recommend.

Nick B.

Yelp
We didn't think to book anything ahead of time for dinner in Oban, and weren't inspired by our hotel's offerings so went for a walk and found Cuan Mor right on the harbour. I was worried at first about it being seafood-heavy as my other half is decidedly not a fan, but she was happy to get herself a steak while I tucked into scallops. The night did not disappoint. We did have to wait at the bar for a bit to get a table, but no real problem. Strangely we wound up with a succession of different servers throughout the meal, but they were all incredibly friendly. One part of our order did get mixed up, my wife's side came as the potato and haggis gratinee, but she just ordered some chips and I took that. The table next to us got a bit unlucky in that her steak came overcooked and she sent it back - but the manager came out, made sure it was comped, brought them each a cocktail on the house, and offered to make something else for them. It wasn't grovelling, it was a sincere and brilliant effort to make things right and I thought he handled it like a champ. For bonus points, we got a great recommendation for a pub to visit on the way back to the hotel to cap the night off properly.

Hannah S.

Yelp
Favourite place to eat out in the evening in Oban. Gorgeous food and service. Definitely recommend!!

Gordon M.

Yelp
Dropped in for a light lunch, this place is on the main Street off Oban and so gets a lot of folk walking by. Inside its quite dark, lots of wood and steel, nicely done I think, comfortable and if a drinks more in order up the stairs is a brewery bar, quite apt as it's pretty much against the back wall of a distillery. The lunch menu was nicely varied and I opted for the seafood chowder with bread, others had the soup of the day (Broccoli) with bread and a cheese and pickle sandwich, all were superb, the sandwich was huge, the chowder had plenty of seafood and was deliciously creamy.

Clifford K.

Yelp
We came here for drinks because it was highly recommended on TripAdvisor. We had some time to burn before our scheduled tour of the Oban distillery around the corner, and it was conveniently located. Bar staff was quasi efficient, didn't say much, but not bad either. After sitting a while I got the feeling that this was a local version of a TGIFridays or Applebee's, but with above average food (I didn't eat though). Was a bit empty at 3ish in the afternoon. We liked the handwritten chalkboard menus on the walk and the decor was cozy.

Bobby B.

Yelp
We loved this place! It was packed, but we managed to get a seat for two after a few minutes of waiting. My wife and I split the seafood chowder, which was very tasty. She got the fish and chips, which was phenomenal. We tried fish and chips a few times at a few pubs in Scotland, but did not find one that we liked. This was a hit for sure. I elected for the open faced argyle venison burger. It was tasty, but not my favorite. We split the sticky toffee pudding, which was really good. The view here is also incredible! It is right across from Oban Harbor!

Joe P.

Yelp
Can't believe so many people have reviewed here and no one has mentioned that this is a brewpub for Oban Ales! Yes, the beers are made pretty much on-site, you can see the brewery kit at the back of the restaurant up towards the toilets. As it is well stocked for beers, the food is also really good. Very fresh seafood (I had the curry special, excellent) with good portions for the quality and price. Well recommended.

Jill S.

Yelp
Go early in the evening for drinks and snacks as this place gets pretty busy. Service is slow but the staff is nice, the red wine is just OK, but the fried brie is amazing. Overall had a nice time here.

Donald M.

Yelp
Looking for somewhere half decent for something to eat, I remembered the Cuan mor, a relatively new place that had been recommended to me on more than one occasion. On walking in you could see this is a well kept restaurant with the fresh smell of polish in the air, I was seated straight away in a corner seat, with a great view. I ordered the crispy battered chicken Goujons that came with chilli sauce, and the main course the fish tea special, l always test the staff and ask for a side of baked beans on the side , sadly the would not accommodate. The starter was real tasty and could tell everything was fresh. The fish was one of the nicest that I've tasted in a good while, BUT the imitation tomato sauce was a let down and tasted awful, the side of bread tasted like cheap shop bought. For what l would have set a five star meal here was let down by the small things, God service throughout but the bill arrived the same time as the plates where being cleared, even though l still had drinks at the table.

Julie E.

Yelp
Food was fishy and fresh. I watned to go to Oban to see if it really was the Seafood capital of Scotland. It is if you go in the summer but probably not so in wintry January. The 2 fish places I wanted to try were closed as one's roof had blown off and the other was just closed. Eating at the Cuan Mor more than made up for this. The decor inside was lvoely and modern. The waiting staff were excellent and really looked after us. We wanted a good break between our main and desert to drink some tasty beers and just relax - this was not an issue. I had the scallops for my main. There were 5 beautifully plump and fresh scallops with a potato gratin and tomato and herb sauce. Everything was very fresh and delicious. They also have their own beers which were nice and helped to wash down our lovely food. Worth a visit if you are in the area.

Therese F.

Yelp
I wasn't thrilled. I ordered the pork ribs. They tasted a bit like a honey baked ham with BBQ sauce at first. Then I thought it reminiscent of eating a good hot dog. Not an altogether bad experience, but not what I was hoping for. The chips were good. My friends tried the beer and weren't happy with it. The whisky selection was definitely decent. You'll find something you like, though not the more obscure labels.

Susanna D.

Yelp
Terrible food. I took a Spanish pork enchilada and it was the worse one I have ever had. Also the potatoes on the side were burned.

Corbin P.

Yelp
We tried this place during a night in Oban on our trip to Scotland. Based on reviews and photos my hopes were high, but I was very disappointed and underwhelmed. Dishes were under seasoned and not well cooked. I ordered a king prawn appetizer that had 4 small prawn on some sort of flatbread. Salmon was over cooked and had no seasoning. My Partners vegan dishes were just ok. Prices were high for what we got. Service was nothing special.

Paul F.

Yelp
After much walking up and down the high street looking for somewhere to eat, on strength of last review tried Cuan Mor, situated in prime position overlooking the bay. Far nicer and 'restaurant/bar like' inside than the frontage suggests - starters around £6 mark, mains little under £10 - but worth every penny. Prawn Cocktail for her, hot Scotch Egg with piccalilli for me, followed by a chargrilled chicken creamy curry type dish, with nan bread & rice for her (sublime!) and a great big burger with local bacon & cheese, also nastily chargrilled for me! Most impressed with local Oban Beers on tap & bottled - even more impressed with young lass waitress fully knowing about selection! Good selection of wines at clear quality/price points as well. Service & staff friendly and efficient - could not ask for more - top marks!

Assaf Z.

Yelp
We tried that restaurant yesterday night. The dishes we ordered were small and expensive and didnt had any unique taste. We wont try that restaurant again.

Colin D.

Yelp
Cuan Mor was good, but not amazing. The burger I had was tasty and my wife had a steak with mashed potatoes which was also good. The prices were something like 10 pounds for entrees which while expensive my my American standards was slightly cheaper than average during out trip to Scotland. The beer was great for Scotland and brewed in house, so really hard to complain about. The atmosphere was much cozier and more upscale than might have been guessed by the college bar looking exterior. If you're in Oban and you're looking for a good place to nab some food for a reasonable price and not be disappointed, this will do the trick just fine.

Carol K.

Yelp
Okay. So now we are talking! Stopped into Cuan Mor for dinner the other night was was quite pleased with the varied menu, friendly service, and one of my favorite beers on tap! Located on the bay, just down from the ferry terminal, Cuan Mor is a people pleaser. We went with a group of 5 and everyone was able to find something that they liked off the large menu. I had a steak- cooked just right and served with onion rings and fires, and my other friends had the fish and chips, a Thai chicken salad, and a seafood pasta carbonara that was really the winner at the table. But then the desserts came out- the sticky toffee pudding (my fav) the chocolate in a box (interesting) and the berry panne cotta (eh). The food was quite good for being basically a bar. The ambiance is loud and friendly. They will seat you right away either indoors or outside on the street (weather permitting). And our server, Rebbecca was great- friendly, accommodating with plenty of suggestions about her favorites on the menu. Prices are reasonable too. For our group of 5 with drinks, starters, dinner and dessert- the bill came to about £93 which was really reasonable given the quantity of food that we had. If you find yourself in Oban- you have to check this place out. It's a great choice for visitors and locals alike!

Ashley R.

Yelp
My husband and I hit up Cuan Mor while on holiday and we were very pleased. After an afternoon tour of the Oban Distillery and wandering into a few shops we happened upon Cuan Mor and decided to give it a go. We started with the Crab Timbale and aside from it containing a tad too much onion, it was incredibly delicious! For some reason I thought the dish would be served warm, but decided it was probably even better served as it was - cold. The mustard mayo was way yum and I'm going to try to copy it once I'm home =) I decided on the Breast of Farm Chicken for my main course and I'm actually still thinking about how AMAZING it was over a week later! The bacon and mushroom sauce was out of this world and the potato gratin was divine. My husband went with the homemade Steak Pie and it was equally delicious. The mash was phenomenal and we both left our meal feeling fat and happy. Thank you so much for a fabulous meal!

Gay T.

Yelp
Waited longer than told to be seated than even longer to be served. Asked for a round of comped drinks after waiting 3.5 hrs for food and was refused. Food was a mixed bag- not worth the wait.

Charles M.

Yelp
Poor experience for the following reasons: 1. Concierge was rude. 2. Entire restaurant smells funky and is in need of a through cleaning. 3. Bad fried seafood. I don't understand why people enjoy this restaurant. Find another place to try.

Justin D.

Yelp
The food and service here were both phenomenal. All too often, seaside restaurants take their location for advantage and serve substandard or mediocre seafood. Not Cuan Mor! My wife and I shared a crab appetizer, both had seafood entrees, and enjoyed everything thoroughly. As importantly, the staff employed excellent teamwork to make our dinner both pleasant and well-paced. If you're spending the night in Oban, Cuan Mor is well worth your time and money.

Greg S.

Yelp
Wonderful staff! Food was outstanding! Was very happy to stop and eat there!! Was a good way to end a wonderful day in Oban!

Jessica S.

Yelp
Can't say enough good things about Cuan Mor. Right off the water. The atmosphere was wonderful. Staff was delightful. And the food!!! My goodness. Started with the seafood chowder which was beyond delicious. Then got the salmon filet with smoked salmon mashed potatoes. I CANNOT STRESS MORE THAN GET THE SALMON MASHED POTATOES!! They were excellent!! I would absolutely recommend Cuan Mor to everyone who visits Oban!

Jennifer C.

Yelp
We really enjoyed our meal here! It was busy but we were seated fairly quickly after a short wait at the bar. We had a delicious smoked salmon starter. My husband had a smoked fish in a white sauce that was amazing!! And I had a fried sole that was cooked to perfection. We would highly recommend.

Henry L.

Yelp
Cod loin over cooked but delicious dressing on side salad... Haddock not as fresh as our visit in Speyside... But outstanding service & fun atmosphere. Waiting area in bar a bit bleak on a Sunday night... great cost for decent food. Drink options good. Excellent popcorn donut ice cream dessert.

Tara T.

Yelp
Supertasty food. A decent amount of vegetarian options aswell. Very nice staff. Good selection of drinks aswell. And a nice view over the harbour.

Gavin W.

Yelp
An occasional watering hole is all this place has been to me. There was just always somewhere else to eat, but it's pretty much Oban's go-to bar-restaurant, with views over the harbour and Kerrera, and given the weather we weren't too bothered about moving. We had a crafty craft pint to think about it, and then panicked as we saw the hordes turning up we asked for a table. I went for the Award-winning Haggis and Black Pudding to start, and the Isle of Mull Scallops as a main. No complaints with the service at all, the staff seem to be one big happy family. I was a little surprised to see my first course appear. It was two pies sitting on mash and a mustard cream sauce. I was a bit underwhelmed by the pies, one was haggis, the other black pudding. They were small and had thick pastry. I thought they masked the taste of their contents too much, I wanted more haggis and black pudding and less pie. The mash was nice though, but the sauce and the haggis lacked a bit of grunt. The main came and I was much happier, perhaps a bit on the mean side with the scallops, but each of the four was wrapped in bacon, and the pesto and perfectly-cooked veg combination set them off pretty well. I enjoyed that course. A three I think is about the right mark, pretty good and not far away at all from a four!
