Went to Cuco 2 times during this trip with my girlfriend, would have been done to visit more regularly if I stayed closer.
Charming restaurant with friendly staff, food was one of the best ones I had in Brazil. Considering the price tag, i personally find it to be the best bang for the buck in Salvador for me.
Below was the first review I wrote right after the first visit.
What a pleasant surprise! I did not have much expectations for this establishment, but the codorna recheado à moda do chef (stuffed quail) was truly one of my most memorable dishes in Brazil so far.
The rice showed the Arabic influence to Bahian food, with the choice of spices and raisin. The quail was wrapped in bacon and came with reduced jabuticaba sauce, which added a nice layer of sweetness and acidity, complemented the quail meat elegantly. My only critique is with the stuffing, which could use a bit more flavour. However, combined with the sauce, it harmonized without taking away from the rest of the dish.
