Positives:|The property is modern, clean, and well-appointed. Amenities such as robes, slippers, reusable bags, water bottles, coffee, tea, and a personalized welcome note with chocolate in each room reflect thoughtful attention to detail.||Negatives:| • Noise Issues: Second-floor rooms are directly adjacent to the breakfast preparation area. Starting at 6:00 a.m., we were consistently woken by clanging pots, dishes, and staff conversation. Evening disturbances were also a problem, with guests using speakerphones outside our room and playing loud videos through an open door into the lobby — with no staff intervention.| • Misleading “Terrace” Advertising: The waterfront terrace prominently featured in the hotel’s online marketing and corporate emails is not part of the hotel. It is located at the owner’s private residence, a few minutes’ walk away. This was not disclosed at check-in, nor were any hours provided when we inquired upon arrival, as we expected to see the terrace on-site.|When we attempted to find and use the terrace, a hotel housekeeper who communicated by walkie-talkie in Spanish to the hotel helped us gain access. We entered through a laundry room and a side alley with linens hanging to dry, creating an uninviting and awkward experience. Later, we were informed the terrace is “closed” on Sundays and that our use was an exception — confirming that we were effectively intruding. We were also told it is typically accessed through a restaurant, but none of this information was shared with us at check-in.| • Housekeeping Miscommunication: Despite a direct request to the front desk, one of our rooms was not serviced. The guest returned midday to find the room untouched and had to settle for fresh towels.| • Dinner Reservation Mishandling: The hotel arranged a dinner reservation for us at a restaurant that was closed and covered in tarps. Staff blamed the restaurant for the error and we found another place to eat dinner.| • Lack of Ownership: Across multiple issues, staff consistently shifted blame rather than taking responsibility or providing meaningful solutions.||Bottom Line:|While the rooms are attractive and amenities well-considered, the guest experience was significantly undermined by excessive noise, misleading advertising, and a lack of accountability from hotel staff. We booked three of the hotel’s seven rooms and collectively encountered repeated service failures during our brief 1.5-day stay. Guests seeking a quiet, restful, well-managed environment may wish to consider alternative accommodations in Santa Cruz.

Cucuve is an amazing hotel. It is boutique and so well maintained. The front desk is efficient and thorough. The rooms are super cleaner. It felt cleaner than the name brand hotels I’ve been in. The breakfast is incredible. The woman who cooks in the am is fantastic. The location is awesome.

This hotel was in a perfect location in the main area of Puerto Ayora. |The hotel itself is gorgeous! The room had air conditioning, a ceiling fan, and a balcony!|Filtered water available at all times, as well as a high end espresso machine that you are encouraged to help yourself to at anytime! Milk and almond milk are available also!!!!They have stocked mini bars. The breakfast is phenomenal, and Ana is a wonderful manager. So friendly and helped us get a cab to the pier when we had a lot of luggage!

This was our best stay throughout the duration of trip to Galapagos, wherein we stay on three of the main islands multiple days. Hotel Cucuve should be THE standard for all the other "boutique" hotels within the park. The room + the price point actually matched and we were super impressed with the comfort of the rooms as well as the layouts. Everything about the rooms (we stayed in two due to having to extend a day) was well thought out and delivered excellence. The staff, over the top, they helped us coordinate taxi to Baltra, diving, and land based tours on Santa Cruz. They also had some insight on other islands and stuff do there as well. Not to mention, the breakfast + to-go breakfast pack for early tours/ferries was a huge hit. Truly made our trip that much more enjoyable. Thank you.

This was more than a hotel during our vacation. It was home. Our room was immaculate and spacious. The bed and pillows were super comfy. The balcony hammock was dreamy. Every breakfast in the morning felt like it was prepared just for us. The hospitality was top notch, thought went into everything. When they heard it was my birthday, they treated me like a princess. I will never forget their kindness. I am adding this trip back to my bucket list just so I can go back to the hotel and visit my friends there.

Everything about our stay at Hotel Cucuve was wonderful. The rooms were clean, cool, and comfortable. The lounge area by the water was the perfect way to relax after a long travel day and enjoy the wildlife and breeze. And the best part was the staff - Ana and Cristian especially made our trip wonderful, providing recommendations and making us feel like we were members of their family. They even helped us track down my dad's lost shoes that he left on a boat on one of our day trips - it was amazing! Thank you Hotel Cucuve for making our trip so great.

Please consider this hotel! It is beyond lovely! Room was fantastic. Service is A++, especially Ana, and breakfast cook!! They aim to please. Location is PERFECT. Includes breakfast and use of a beachfront terrace down the street which has an excellent restaurant attached! Bahia Mar. They have a very nice, easy to use espresso maker that you can use anytime of day and it tastes great! Also have milk and Almond Milk available which I appreciated so much! I can’t say enough good things about our stay here. Thank you Ana and staff!
