If you have some spare time in Asuncion, highly recommend to visit this place. This is a cultural center/museum with exhibitions of Paraguayan popular arts and curated works of Latin American artists (I even found a piece of Botero’s work). Entry is free. From the patio and the top of the staircase, you can enjoy the view of the city and the river.

One of my favorite spots to have visited in Asuncion, especially since the museum curator is incredibly friendly. Former senate building that has turned into a Paraguyan cultural heritage center. Inside, one can find shamanic feather crowns, initiation ceremony costumes, and artifacts from other indigenous groups. They will have an artist's work on display and the upstairs has different exhibits. An interesting one is about the different immigrant groups. Note that all the signage in the museum is in Spanish, but they do have English brochures and the museum workers are very friendly and happy to provide historical context, even using voice-to-speak through Google translate to convey information.

This building houses a wonderful free museum. It is easy to pass and not know that it is open to the public. There is a broad mix but the classic passports and maps are my favorite!

A very gorgeous building with nice exhibits that is worth stopping by. Ask for Vidal to guide you through the immigration exhibit and ask questions. He was excellent!

Interesting museum dedicated to Paraguay's history. Worth a visit, even if it is a bit of an unusual collection. But opened my eyes to some of the good things and good people that make Paraguay what it is today. Free of charge and has air conditioning in most areas.
