Get ready to have your jaw drop. The art is just amazing. There's that WOW factor about this place. Be prepared to be mesmerised. Amazing place for sure. That made me appreciate art for sure. Artists deserve every penny.

The Cultural Heritage Center in Arusha is undoubtedly the largest and most encompassing art theatre in Africa. From the moment you step onto the grounds, you're immersed in a breathtaking celebration of African creativity, history, and diversity. This iconic center showcases an extraordinary range of talents and cultures from across the continent — from intricate Makonde carvings and vibrant Tanzanian paintings to rare artifacts and contemporary African sculptures. It’s not just a gallery; it’s a living museum, a marketplace of ideas, and a sanctuary for artistic expression. The architecture itself is stunning, with its majestic dome and expansive layout that invites exploration. Whether you're an art lover, a history enthusiast, or simply curious about Africa’s rich cultural tapestry, the Center offers something unforgettable. The staff are knowledgeable and passionate, always ready to share stories behind the art and guide you through the experience. And don’t miss the gemstone gallery and the craft shops — they’re a treasure trove of African heritage. If you're in Arusha, this is an unmissable destination. It’s more than a cultural center — it’s Africa’s artistic heartbeat.

It's a pretty nice place that has a lot of art pieces from many different artists. There's a nice gallery with lots of nice paintings to see. Unfortunately, it's pretty much a big tourist trap. All they do is try to get you to buy things. The items here are all pretty expensive compared to what you get in the markets. The art pieces are very cool though.

It is an amazing place & a must visit place while in Arusha Tanzania. The place is beautiful and filled with amazing world-class artworks on display. You can spend lots of time just appreciating the wide variety of pieces there and most definitely you will not leave without something.

Located in Arusha Tanzania, it contains a huge collection of African Artwork of different types.. sculptures, paintings, artefacts, traditional items from different cultures. It also has several shops selling the artworks, though not cheaply. If you love Art, this place will greatly inspire and fulfill you. The design of the building both exterior an interior is an artwork by itself.

Lovely place for tourists, so much art and crafts from all over Tanzania, and you can even find "African Mona Lisa". It’s expensive, but the staff are super friendly and even show you around. The best part? Mike Ghaui’s Serengeti Simba’s, the lioness that watches you from every corner. Truly the African Mona Lisa, stunning!! Entrance is free.

This is a must! A wonderful art gallery which will get even better once the new Jane Goodall wing is open. If it doesn’t take your breath away I don’t know what will. Stunning

Beautiful African art. You need a couple of hours to admire it all (half a day if you want) and you can buy most of the items (expensive of course I.e. Thousands of $$). In front of the museum/gallery, you can find souvenir shops for items made of wood (ebony) and beads and Tanzanite. Magnets, bookmarks, mugs, small statues, and so much more.
