Here is a beautiful castle right on a cliff overlooking the sea. A must to visit this huge estate that was once a private home and to see how the wealthy once lived there. It’s fully restored with lots of extravagantly furnished rooms. There is a huge collection of pistols and weapons to see, a fine display on the walls. It has a walled garden, a large grass garden and forest around it with many trails to walk and to enjoy the sea views. The staff were very good and eager to answer my questions. There are places to stay on the estate and they also host weddings and corporate event events and private parties. It’s a busy place. Of course there is a coffee and gift shop and there was lots of parking, but it does get very busy with tourists.

This is such a lovely place to visit, we stayed at the campsite nearby and came twice, but still didn't manage to see everything! We all loved it as there is so much to do, there are lots of walks and trails, a brilliant kids play area, the kids would have spent hours in there if they could. The walled gardens were so beautiful, and the fruit and veg that they grow there can be bought in the shop. Lots of interesting information to learn, and the people in the castle were friendly and very knowledgeable. We always take our own food, so i cant comment on cafe or price of food, but I would highly recommend visiting to anyone, you can't go wrong!

Love bringing the family here! Our little boy loves hunting out all the rock pools at the beach. The food at the various cafe’s are all really nice. The outdoor play park is also amazing! There is so much to do here - something for everyone!

Fabulous National Trust property. Decent size castle with lego figure trail for kids. Had food in home farm which was delicious and reasonably priced. Second hand bookstore was open too. The walks are great with extensive gardens, trails down to beach and around Swan Pond which is more like a lake than a pond. This also has a cafe and ice cream stop and toilets. Lots to do and explore and can easily spend the whole day there. Will go back again.

It is amazing place!!! I am in love with this place. magnificent view of the sea, nature. and the photos are just fabulous! and the gas house by the sea is like from a fairy tale book! I will come again and again. Only if you go by bus - it goes not very often

An amazing place. Just so lovely inside and the walks around outside are brilliant. Llamas and deer, beaches and adventure playpark. Well worth a visit.

We stayed on site in a cottage and loved it. For our dog it was like doggy Disneyland with a beach and 600 acres with miles of paths and trails to explore. We also enjoyed the cafe on site and shop. I got ever so slightly hooked on empire biscuits while I was there. Definitely one we will be revisiting.

Amazing place to visit, easy to find with plenty of parking, every staff member we spoke with were very friendly and helpful. The castle itself was beautiful and obviously very well cared for with plenty of information available about the history of the area and staff in many of the rooms to give extra information and answer questions but if I'm honest the grounds were what really stood out, the deer park, the walled gardens, the swan pond and the woodland paths were stunning and very well cared for and maintained. We drove an hour and a half to get there and it was definitely worth the time and I would recommend to anyone for a visit

Yelp
Nothing short of perfect. A testament to the rich history that is Scotland. It is so magnificent both inside and out that words simply cannot describe the splendour of this castle. The castle overlooks the Atlantic Ocean and on a clear and sunny day like today you can see the Isle of Arran! Aye - a truly magestic place which we will ne'er forget!

Yelp
Truly one remarkable location. I got tired of hearing myself say "wow" over every thing. But it was all I could say. We stayed in a wonderful room overlooking the water. My favorite part is the beach (path is slightly hidden) just to the north. Keep a sharp eye out for washed up jelly fish. But the rocks and shells create a virtual painting of nature. We had high tea, and it was such a living fantasy. Great memories.

Yelp
They have been so accommodating. It does take some time for them to respond but that's likely due to our time difference. We are so blessed that we found such a beautiful castle to share our vacation.

Yelp
Great castle with outstanding views and beautiful gardens. It was designed by the famous Scottish architect Robert Adams for the powerful Kennedy family (no relation to JFK)

Yelp
Loved the Castle and grounds, even on a pretty wet day. The coastal view is amazing, and the various buildings have been beautifully restored. The docents at the palace are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the family's and palace's history, though if self-guided is more your desire, there are placards that give an overview of the most important aspects and pieces in each individual room. The visitor's center can likely be skipped since it provides just minimal information, though the cafe there is a nice midday stop, and has coffee, bottles beverages, pastries, sandwiches, potatoes, and a few other hot dishes of the day. The prices are also fairly reasonable, as we paid £15 for 2 sodas, a casserole, sandwich, and brownie. If hiking is more your desire, there are also lots of pathways available, and there were many individuals and families that had their dogs along too. Highly recommend this castle that is on the coast about an hour/1:10 from Glasgow.

Yelp
During our last trip to Scotland, my wife dragged me countless castles, abbeys etc., but Culzean was the only one that really stuck with me. Beautiful grounds, great location, very friendly staff and so much to see. If you only see one castle in Scotland outside of Edinburgh and Stirling, make it Culzean.

Yelp
We travelled to Culzean for my brothers wedding. The ceremony was a beautiful affair held on the grounds with the dinner and dancing held in the castle. It was a truly beautiful experience but the best part was staying overnight in the Eisenhower apartment. The only drawback was that it was unseasonably warm and there was no ability to get air through the rooms which caused for a very uncomfortable nights sleep. But that was certainly out of their control.
