I camped during peak season so can't comment on the rooms. I called beforehand to let them know that I would be late (after hours) and the staff were so lovely in how they accommodated me. They are impressively professional, organised and maintain the campgrounds with dedicated ground staff. One of them brought leads and a battery for a jump-start. Thank you! It was quiet and relaxed in a beautiful setting. All campers were respectful and I was fortunate to have super friendly neighbours to boot. I read one review that they may cull some wildlife, I hope this remains a rumour because wildlife is an integral part of camping. If I wanted a wildlife free camp, I'd go to one of the big franchises and I would rate this campground commensurately. You have a point of difference so keep up your classy act, Cumberland!

I love our stay here! The nature and serenity are such a vibe. Plus, the bathroom smells nice! I wonder what room spray they use. If you’re going to stay here, just watch out for the kookaburras—I got swooped at twice while eating my BBQ and ended up having to eat in our tent hahaha. The staff is very nice and welcoming, too! I will definitely come back here!

Beautiful location but that’s about it. For up to $85 for a non powered no water hookup site you get bugger all else. Amenities are basic. Two (rarely cleaned) toilets and two showers for potentially several hundred campers. No camp kitchen but there is a free electric bbq. After a busy weekend the dumpster bins are overflowing with rubbish. Latecomers weren’t able to access the park even though the manager drove in at the same time. Could easily have let these two in and asked them to pay in the morning. Just mean spirited. And the park was virtually empty in any case! Won’t be staying here again and will be warning people off. For the price I would expect a whole lot more! DO NOT STAY HERE.

A great location for nature lovers! This place is close to the beach and a beautiful creek, making it perfect for a relaxing getaway. We stayed for two nights in a 3-bedroom cabin, which was clean and tidy. They provided all the necessary washroom supplies and bedding, which was very convenient. Just a heads up, since this is a camping site, you may not be able to use your mobile phone or high-voltage electrical items easily. Also, it's important to double-check the weather before booking, as you could end up staying during a windy or rainy spell. Overall, a fantastic spot if you love nature and a bit of adventure!

It’s a beautiful place, but unfortunately, we had the worst experience ever. There were too many young people staying there, and they made noise even midnight. We couldn’t sleep for two nights—I felt like I was sleeping in a pub. There was also too much swearing, which was really bad for the kids. Such a shame!

We stayed for a long weekend looking for a nice camping spot near the sea. Ram, Charlotte and the team on site were amazing and friendly from check-in to check out. Site was well maintained and the location, scenery and wildlife were wonderful. Thanks team, we will be back.

Had a cabin, was quiet till a laud group arrived , drunks chatter over whole campground...couldn't sleep much last night heard them through closed windows till late night. Otherwise great place, amazing hikes ,or walks , big lonely beach.

Great spots along the river with a short walk to the beach. Perfect for families and only just out of Lorne. No mobile reception and need to be fully self contained. Staff were very accommodating. Can have a fire.

Yelp
Lorne, just down the Great Ocean Road from Cumberland River, gets a hell of a lot of attention given its awesome location and scenery. But I am sure it also packs out in peak season and for that reason, I recommend travelling a little further to arrive at Cumberland River Holiday Park. The park is situated on a rare bit of flat ground along the mountainous coastal drive, situated next to a beautiful running river and impressive cliffs overhead. Other than the park goers there are no other neighbours apart from the wildlife that inhabits the river, the forest and the ocean. We were greeted by lovely management and as it was the middle of winter we rented a cabin rather than rolling out the swag. The cabin was clean, simple yet functional. There is a gas log fire indoors, an outdoor fire pit and good cooking and bathroom facilities. Due to the remote location, electricity is limited and there was only one powerpoint in the cabin. Definitely stop in here for a few nights to take in majestic scenery, stunning river walks and breathtaking ocean views.
