Don't listen to the negative comments, it almost put me off booking, but I'm so glad we went for it anyway! Good communication for the owners, we arrived late & they left us an envelope with instructions/Pitch number. Site is so so beautiful, even when full! We had no issues with facilities, didn't queue for toilets or showers once and the place was sold out. The beach opposite is gorgeous, we did swim & was lovely! Saw kangaroos on our first night here and the surrounding cliffs & river are just beautiful. Would highly recommend!

Really disappointed with their communication. Booked a week. Arrived and spoke with office staff. We then set up the caravan, but then the power didn’t work. We noticed all the power boxes had signs saying they’re not working. Went back to office and was told that their generators aren’t working and they don’t know when they will be back on. Apparently, that information was posted on their website. But we went back on-line and couldn’t find any notice about having no power. We then had to pack up the van and move to the Lorne foreshore caravan park. We didn’t even get the full site costs returned to us. Pretty disappointing.

We stayed in a 2 bed cabin over the weekend. Overpriced for what you get or should I say don’t get. No toaster in the cabin and only 1 power outlet that only accommodates charging your phone. If you try to use it for anything else it cuts out. I get they are on a generator but perhaps installing solar panels on the roof would solve this issue. Aside from that this is a breathtaking place to stay. The river and the cliff face are beautiful to look at , on a clear night the stars are spectacular.

I booked a cedar cabin. I appreciated that the heater was on and the cabin was lovely and warm when I arrived. It was very clean and cosy and comfortable. The park was quiet and every staff member I met were friendly and happy. I recommend this park. Bonus...friendly wildlife, kookaburras, kangaroos and too many others birds to list.

Excellent location if you want to get away and not be bothered by your phone etc. as there is no mobile reception within the site.|Facilities are quite basic with limited or no water & power. Friends satying in cabins werre not allowed hair dryers or toasters due to lack of power. Showers in the toilet block are timed and cut off automatically.|Customer service was poor with zero flexibility on number of cars or checkout times eventhough the place was almost empty during our stay. They are there to make money, not service their customers needs.

Couldn't recommend this place more! We had the best stay here recently. Service was exceptional and accommodation of a great standard the cabins and clean. Best spot to stay and explore as a couple or young family.

No mention of tent sites right in front of deluxe villa porch. You get to see people camping, not a clear view of nature that you had paid for. Loved the nature but not the service and facilities.

If I could give this place zero stars, I seriously would. It takes an awful lot for me to write a bad review, but this place has pushed me to this point sadly. My partner and I were meant to stay here last week, yet upon arriving we found the bathrooms to be in a totally disgusting state. They have been sprayed by insecticide, and there were dead bugs absolutely coating the floor. The smell in there was unbearable and breathing in the poison for even 5 minutes has left my partner and I with a cough and irritated throats even days later. I asked many times for the staff to issue a refund as we were not able to stay there and left right away, and they all refused to do so, literally laughing at the request. The disrespect and blatant disregard for their customers safety is shocking. There are so many lovely places to stay in this area, PLEASE avoid this one at all costs as it is a truly awful business to support. I have refuted the charge with the bank and even they are disgusted in this failure to comply with fair trading, and health and safety regulations and laws.

Yelp
Lorne, just down the Great Ocean Road from Cumberland River, gets a hell of a lot of attention given its awesome location and scenery. But I am sure it also packs out in peak season and for that reason, I recommend travelling a little further to arrive at Cumberland River Holiday Park. The park is situated on a rare bit of flat ground along the mountainous coastal drive, situated next to a beautiful running river and impressive cliffs overhead. Other than the park goers there are no other neighbours apart from the wildlife that inhabits the river, the forest and the ocean. We were greeted by lovely management and as it was the middle of winter we rented a cabin rather than rolling out the swag. The cabin was clean, simple yet functional. There is a gas log fire indoors, an outdoor fire pit and good cooking and bathroom facilities. Due to the remote location, electricity is limited and there was only one powerpoint in the cabin. Definitely stop in here for a few nights to take in majestic scenery, stunning river walks and breathtaking ocean views.
