My biggest tip is to take a taxi up to Sant Luca then walk down through 666 medieval porticoes back down into the city.
The chuch is beautiful. We did not pay to go into the crypt for even better views as it was foggy & they were about to close for lunch (at 13.30.)
Each porticoe is numbered and there are little shrines along the walk.
When we visited parts of the porticoes were being repaired so you had to walk on temporary platforms (these can only take a few people walking on them at any one time. These were also quite slippery when wet so exercise caution.
The views are breathtaking, even on a misty day.
I believe that on Sundays, pop up cafes serve lasagne but on other days please ensure that you take some water with you, especially if it's hot.
