Nathan Chicago Hot Dog with "hots" was Delicious!! 🌭😋 The Custard was creamy smooth + yummy! 🍨 I love that it's Gluten + Trans fat Free! 👍👍 The seating area is festively fun. 🎉 And the girls working the stand were friendly + helped me decide from all the great choices! Thanks for a great lunch break! 5⭐️

Google
Curly’s Frozen Custard offers a cozy atmosphere, tucked into a neighborhood where families casually stroll in for a sweet treat. The menu is packed with options almost overwhelmingly so but that just means there’s something for everyone. My son and I took on the challenge of choosing, and while he enjoyed his lemon custard with gummy bears, my pick didn’t quite hit the mark. I’ll definitely be back to redeem myself with a better selection! Overall, it's a great spot with plenty of variety and a welcoming vibe.

Google
Stumbled on this place and I'm glad I did. Great atmosphere and service to match. The food was great. The outdoor seating was clean and comfortable for a quick bite.

Daniel Lee

Google
Pleasant outdoor seating area, especially if you come later in the evenings. The frozen custards are good, felt it was a little on the pricy side overall but a nice experience and defintely popular with the locals.

I went tonight for the first time. The drive thru line was long, which was a good sign that it’s good. I got a vanilla custard with brownie bites and raspberry. It was delicious! I will definitely be back!

Brian Carpani, GeckoMediaGroup

Google
Nice and friendly staff with quick service in the drive thru. The custard itself is decent but the mixing are a bit off. The cookie dough had a very chalky texture and wasn't great.

Jamie Hoffman

Google
This was so good! I’m not a big chocolate ice cream fan, but the German chocolate was so good. My dog is even a fan

Google
Literally soooo yummy! Service was fast and sweet too. 10/10 recommend!

Madelaine T.

Yelp
First time at Curly's and will definitely be back! I ordered the dairy free vanilla custard with cheesecake bites, and we also had the Tropical concrete. We got single servings each and that was more than enough! My dairy free vanilla/cheesecake bite custard was delicious! The tropical concrete was also amazing! The young lady at the window was very friendly, and everything was so clean! I also loved the little outside area to sit.

S D.

Yelp
This my second time coming here on my lunch break. I order the hot dogs and let me tell ya it's delicious eachtime and the bread is fresh and I could eat it alone. Simply delicious

Stacy C.

Yelp
The custard is delicious and gluten free! It's hard to find good desserts that are gluten free, so I am very thankful we could this place!

Geof T.

Yelp
We've heard from friends/online that frozen custard is a Fort Worth/north Texas specialty so we were dying to try it out! We took advantage of curly's to cool off from the 100 degree weather and it definitely hit the spot! Best of all, we didn't even have to get out of the car into the blazing sun because they offer a drivethru! We got the Oreo deluxe sundae and a vanilla cup with crushed KitKats mixed in. Both were very good! The Oreo was definitely more decadent and indulgent with a hot fudge syrup at the bottom and chunks of Oreo at the bottom. The vanilla kitkat was more refreshing and light! They have tons of flavors available so I'll definitely be back to try more frozen custard!! Careful getting out of the drive thru as it's pretty narrow and steep and so many cars in front of us curves their tires

Larry N.

Yelp
Usually just order a chili cheese dog when I go to Curly's. It's always outstanding! Also like their custard, but I don't order it very often.

Michael K.

Yelp
My wife and I stopped in for some ice cream on a warm Saturday afternoon as we were leaving town for the lake. They offer many ice cream sundae and shake variations along with the ala carte menu to build your own. We went with the latter for somewhat boring hot fudge sundaes. The sundaes were ready in no time. It's always a race between the fudge melting the ice cream and the ice cream hardening the fudge. We quickly got at it but found we couldn't finish them. The staff were friendly. There was plenty of outside seating and parking. We enjoyed our visit and will probably stop again on our return trip.

Reid R.

Yelp
Shows they close at 11 PM. Already closing for the night and won't take any customers even though it is 10:15 PM. Total crap. Not wasting my time more money at this place ever again.

Sunny P.

Yelp
Came here and got a double order of chocolate with some toppings. I will say that only one topping being free for a double is a bit silly to me as I would've expected at least two. If you want to customize your own custard with toppings, it can very quickly get pricey compared to going to a self serve frozen yogurt place or even most ice cream places. The serving was quite large but I found there were no toppings in the bottom 1/3 or too 1/3 of the my cup. All of them were in the center which was quite annoying. The custard itself is quite rich and decadent. The parking area near the drive thru seems quite dangerous since it's so steep and I watched a few cars go bouncing through the narrow area. The main detracting factor is definitely the service. The person who took our order was quite rude to us and didn't seem pleased we asked for a minute even though it was our first time and there weren't that many people. It kind of soured the mood of the place for us. Don't think I will be returning because of this interaction and the high price for toppings.

Yuri A.

Yelp
Service was good. They charged me for a double sundae banana split of which I ordered but was only handed a single cup. Soooo why was I charged for a double????????!!!!! The little girl responded with that's how are sundaes come after I asked her "so where's the other cup of sundae then?" Rip off joint never again.!!!!

Corina S.

Yelp
Hot dog was cold but we tipped in advance. Not fair. So sad. Nathan's would be disappointed.

Bec S.

Yelp
Nothing like getting home with your chili cheese hotdog upside down with no cheese or onions as ordered

Liz C.

Yelp
Don't breath when you get to the window it smells inside bad. Also, sitting next to the window window waiting for my food. You can smell it outside too.

Janice E.

Yelp
The service at the window was very nice. The food, not so much. I got their Specialty Dog. Bread was barely warm and dry. Fried onion pieces and sprinkling of cheese helped but it was very disappointing. Very bland. A side of chili did not help. What was that? Very disappointing. On a better note, the single scoop of custard was very good.

Haiden T.

Yelp
Loved the sundae and it's so cute to sit at their picnic tables under their huge tree.

Yelp
A Fort Worth classic!!! Andy's but better!!! Local custard that is so delicious!!! The custard is extremely creamy and the perfect amount of sweetness! The perfect treat for any day and the variety of toppings and flavors just make it that much better! Highly recommend checking it out if you're in the area!!

Holly H.

Yelp
Stopped by here because it had both savory and sweet options. Of course the main appeal is the custard, so I bought a custom one to eat later: vanilla with butterfinger as my one free topping. I also bought a hot dog, but there were other hot dog options with different types of toppings. I kept my selections simply because I was looking for a quick dinner and dessert in a pinch. The hot dog is just your regular old hot dog, nothing special. The custard is very similar to ice cream, once again nothing special about the presentation nor the taste, but it did its job at satisfying my dessert craving. There is plenty of outdoor dining (only options are outdoor dining and drive through, the indoor area only consists of the kitchen).

Eric W.

Yelp
Pretty good. Not too impressed with presentation. This was the German Chocolate. Outside of cup was a mess. Nice, shaded, outdoor area to enjoy a custard... or a Nathan's hotdog. Bottom line: This place has been here a long time.

Russell R.

Yelp
Curly's Frozen Custard is a west side FTW institution. My late mother took me there first time in 80s-90s. Can't remember. Asked her "they serve pudding?" No silly goose pudding is not frozen custard. She went on to explain when she was growing up custard was the best. Reminded her she never passed this information on to any of her nine (9) kids. Anyway been going there once or twice a month since. Great hot dogs. Delicious frozen custards. Fun atmosphere. If you're on Camp Bowie before Hulen stop in or drive thru for a marvelous meal.

Tonya K.

Yelp
Great option for a cozy outdoor space by self or with family or friends. We loved our Oreo Cookie Fudge sundae! So good we forgot to get a pic. Friendly service and happy customers!

Lauren F.

Yelp
Love this place! ! Friendly staff and great custard options. Please bring back Birthday cake though!

Chris S.

Yelp
Skip the food... stale hot dog bun, one side rib hard to even eat, still wondering why they would even serve it . Hot dog it self was so tough, didn't even finish the first bite. Got my sundae to go with a lid and bagged, they didn't place the lid on correctly so it was spilt all over the paper bag ... just trashed it as well... wasted $16. Staff was friendly but recommend they pay attention to small details like stale buns, way over cooked hot dog and sealed lids... first and last trip to Curly's.

Pita S.

Yelp
Great custard! Sometimes the options are too much to chose from! Service is great and they get the custard out quick.

James D.

Yelp
Great location, friendly staff and the custard hits the spot on a hot Texas. The kiddos love coming here for a treat.

Labritt L.

Yelp
If you haven't had frozen custard, please go to Curtis's and start with a basic custard. Then your next time treat yourself to a mixture of their ingredients to make a special custard treat. I love this place it's great.

Marianne C.

Yelp
At first bite, you could tell that there is something really special about their vanilla custard. It has this depth of creaminess that i usually crave and miss. I have learned that Curly's have a proprietary blend of Indonesian vanilla flavoring and a couple different secret ingredients for their custard. It was almost the same creaminess I can remember growing up... it has more natural taste to it. I can't really explain the complexity of the flavor but you should really give them a try. I had their Very Berry which is made of vanilla custard, strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries. It was so perfect! Creamy, not to sweet and full of berries. My only complaint is, I should've ordered the bigger size. :p When in Fort Worth, Curly's is worth stopping by. Staffs are friendly and they are also fire baby friendly.

Amy D.

Yelp
My partner and I came here after shopping at Archie's Gardenland on a hot day. Frozen custard never sounded so good. We ordered Curly's Crunch $3.59 and the Strawberry Shortcake Sundae $4.59. We sat on the patio table waiting for our name to be called, which only took a couple of minutes. This is definitely a popular spot as evidence by the consistent trail of cars in the drive thru. I loved my strawberry shortcake sundae. It was a large and probably meant to share, but I ate almost all of it. Try to get a bit of everything in one bite. It is better that way! Also, I liked that fresh strawberries were used and not the canned, soft kind. The curly's crunch was also delicious. It was the perfect balance of peanut butter. I did not order it for myself because I don't like the texture of cold chocolate chips, but they used mini chocolate chips which was better. I think peanut butter by itself would be the bomb.com. I may order that next time. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting on the patio table by the fountain enjoying our frozen custard. This is the perfect afternoon spot on a warm day to hangout with the kids or with your significant other and enjoy life's simple pleasures.

Stephanie V.

Yelp
I am always astounded by how busy Curlys gets with the line of cars backing up into the street. Every time I come hopeful for something amazing only for Curlys to fall short of my expectations. The custard is average, nothing super special. Recently, I ordered the peach custard with some cheesecake bites for the topping. The custard itself had no peach flavor although the artificial orange coloring was far from lacking. I found the cheesecake bites to be better than the custard itself. Maybe I will find better luck with the savory items on the menu? The service has been great each time but not a drawing factor.

Ashley G.

Yelp
Super yummy custard! Lots of options for sizes, toppings, custards, and specialty cups. They also serve food. Fast service!

Kathryn R.

Yelp
My absolute favorite ice cream place in Fort Worth!! Curly's is a great local spot where families can go get some food and ice cream, and there is some great outdoor seating. I go to Curly's all the time, usually on a late night ice cream run with some friends. I love the custard so much-- it is so rich and smooth, and I would even argue that it is better than Andy's custard! Servers are usually very friendly and fairly fast. Be warned though -- Curly's is a popular spot, so if you go at night, be prepared to wait in the drive-thru line for a fairly long time. If you're looking for great ice cream in Fort Worth, go to Curly's!!

Lauren B.

Yelp
It was fine but I probably don't need to go back! A fun little spot for frozen custard! It was yummy but a bit overpriced. Our bill was $24 dollars for 3 ice creams and a Diet Coke. Our favorite part was probably the plain vanilla custard. No add ins needed!

Blaine H.

Yelp
Drove by this place and figured I would give it a try. Service through the drive through is extremely slow. Hot dogs are lacking in flavor for both the chili dog and Chicago dog. The bread has the potential to be good but it was stale and hard. I ordered a ice cream sandwhich and even got asked what flavor I would like, but that was pointless because they forgot to give it to me anyways. I would give it 1 star, but the custard/ice cream might be good if I had had it.

E. R.

Yelp
This review is for the drive-thru girl. Lida or Lina. Whatever. We've never met a person with such a horrible rude tude. I'm not sure it was her shark week or she just got dumped but girl, please chill! Life is not that bad. You're too young to be so bitter. On the other hand, the ice cream is cool

Hunter W.

Yelp
The custard is phenomenal! I will never go to any other custard place again. The prices are much better than any other place I've been and the custard is creamy, not overly rich and flavorful. Something Curly's does well is their toppings. I feel that the toppings never take away or overpower the custard. The menu is great so many options to choose and always a fun flavor of the month to try as well. The hotdogs are high quality beef and have good flavor. They are a little pricier in my opinion though. The drive thru is always packed but the line moves very fast. The ambiance as a whole is fantastic. It feels very backyard hangoutish and very relaxing and a good way to enjoy the Texas nights. Though make sure you bug spray The only thing from Curly's that I have had that I did not like is the lemonade. Other than that it is amazing and my wife and I love it and it is one of our favorite date night spots!

Ivy D.

Yelp
Custard is good and convenient, but not too much more than that. Not sure if it's the hype of always seeing a line of cars or maybe just the idea of a cute, drive-in custard place. Part of me wonders if the line is long because they are kind of slow with the orders, but then again it's never so bad that I'd rather drive off. One thing that has me puzzled is how many times they've gotten my order wrong... I've been here 10+ times now and they've messed up my order 4-5 times. Like peaches with coconut, and then no coconut. Or strawberry with banana, and then they give me strawberry with peaches instead. It hasn't been a big deal since they remake it. If I had allergies, I would definitely be a lot more worried.

Haley B.

Yelp
We came in on a Saturday night around 9:45. We walked up and ordered, and there was no wait. I ordered the bananas foster sundae, my husband ordered the Curly's crunch, and my daughter ordered the German chocolate. They were all really yummy! The staff was friendly, and our order came out pretty quickly. We liked that they were open late enough to swing by after dinner, and we will do so again!

Marcus K.

Yelp
Curly's has got the potential to be a dope custard joint. However, the custard isn't quite as creamy as I would prefer. When I order custard I expect to have years of flavor and texture and creaminess... it just wasn't there. Additionally, they heavily shorted me on my mix in. Mehh I've eaten all the custard. It's my favorite dessert, and I've eaten it all over the great state of Texas. There are some better options out there. Just saying.

Shelby F.

Yelp
Saw a recommendation for this on Instagram and stopped by here after dinner down the street at Lucile's (highly recommend them). We ordered a vanilla with cookie dough and a vanilla with hot fudge and pecans. We each took one bite of our orders and immediately decided to throw them away. The vanilla was super sour, to the point it tasted like lemon. We are big custard people so I'm not sure if someone forgot to clean the mixer after lemon was ordered or what, but we threw the cups away and drove to Melt on Magnolia Ave. Both employees we interacted with were extremely kind and helpful, but we would never return here. There are too many other good ice cream spots in Fort Worth to waste money on this place. Wishing I could have my $12 back.

Sherry S.

Yelp
I walked with my 3 year old grandson to Curly's this morning for a treat. They would not take my order at the walk up because they didn't have a money drawer there. She said I would have to go thru drive through. I told her I was walking. she said I could not walk through drive. she was not accommodating at all. They were not busy. we left. Very disappointing.

Cheryle M.

Yelp
Every time I go to the museum district in Fort Worth, I try to eat at Curley's. Most often the food just ok, but the custard, the wonderful little outdoor seating area and the view while eating make up for the subpar hotdogs. Today all things were about the same ... hotdog bun was actually hard on one side but the Nathan's dog was good, the seating area sported new tables and the custard was full sized and excellent. One new really bad feature was the STRONG smell of Fabuloso cleaner that blasted out of the window when my order was taken and again when being served. I'm glad they're cleaning in there, but the smell of cleaner should never be stronger than the smell of what I'm ordering. Next time I'm in visiting the Kimball, I might just eat there.

Eat T.

Yelp
I hate to give this place this rating after having been a regular for years now but man, the quality of the final product and customer service just isn't quite the same. Please give us what we ordered in its entirety. This is the 3rd in a row - not first, not second - where an ingredient was missing from a specialty custard order. I get it takes time to peel back and slice that banana, but is it too much to ask for at least one slice, if any, in my Banarama?! Not the first time, management.

Scott A.

Yelp
Have you seen a place about a 1,000 times but never stopped or went it. Well I've driven by this place and have missed out in a big way. The sundae I had last Sunday was amazing. So good for my waist line I better not go back for awhile. And update dairy free option Vanilla is on the menu. Reese's round up is over the top and so good. The only issue I have is I might order this for the next five years and miss out of all the other great things they serve. They have other food but I would put categorize this as a after dinner or lunch spot. I just wished I would have stopped here sooner.

Mary T.

Yelp
I've been here twice within days of visiting LOL. The original frozen custard flavor is addicting, I can't stop craving it! I love that it is such a friendly environment. The street to get to it, can be a bit tricky depending on which street you are on. Small parking lot. Fast service. Cute area outside patio area to hang out, eat your custard and catch up with friends. There are a few shops within walking range for you to check out as well. There's plenty of flavors and toppings to choose from! As well as an option to have it in a cup or cone. The frozen custard is so creamy! (Better than frozen yogurt omggg.. where have I been all my life LOL). I haven't had any issues with my order. My husband really likes the original custard with chocolate chip. You can walk up to the window to order, or go through the drive thru.

Jeremy T.

Yelp
I stopped by after dinner with a friend since it was close and he said it was one of the best custard places in FTW. It was a cold breezy night and we actually had to sit in the car to eat it. Their overhead heaters on the patio weren't working. Most customers were in the drive-thru. I hear their patio is a great space during the non-winter months. I ordered the German chocolate concrete and thought it was pretty good. I normally order vanilla-flavored custard, but this time I was just in the mood for chocolate. Hard to compare to other concretes I've had, but it was still no Ted Drewe's. Portion size was questionable. My concrete was served in a small Styrofoam cup and half the size of my friend's cup. His was filled all the way, while mine was filled only half way. Our orders came out at the same time. How do you have such variation in portion sizes?

Matthew C.

Yelp
Ever since being in Fort Worth, I have fallen in love with Curly's after finding it visiting. The prices are reasonable and the vanilla milkshake with Oreo topping has been delicious. Service has always been good when I have gone.

Sunny C.

Yelp
The vanilla custard was very good. There is only outdoor seating so drive thru may get crowded during hot summer days.

Rick D.

Yelp
*First, please understand that "Yelp" is a place for disgruntled people to complain. The vast majority of happy customers don't write reviews, it's mainly those who have issues. For fun, look at a negative person's profile and see if they are primarily a complainer, or is they have a fair amount of positive reviews. We love Curly's Frozen Custard. It is not just a regular, weekly treat for us, but is a place in which we bring friends to treat them for their maiden voyage (if they've never eaten there). Share the love... don't cha know. Now, get out there and talk about your favorite places. Small businesses need your help right now. If they dropped the ball, (as all of them have) tell the manager or owner. Don't whine here unless you've already notified the management, and gotten an unsatisfactory response. Excuse me while I write some more positive reviews.

Donna N.

Yelp
Totally disappointed. Two out of four staff wasn't wearing facemasks or gloves. One girl was wearing black gloves and she kept touching her hair and then touching everything. One girl was wearing her mask under her chin and breathing on everything. The guy working the window didn't wear a mask and then put a bandanna around his face when he went to interact with people at the drive up window. The ice cream portion was 50% smaller and a disappointment. For two small servings It was a little over $8. Definitely not worth it. Too many other ice cream stores in the area with better portions and better value. I do not recommend Curleys.

Jana B.

Yelp
After waiting in line at the drive through for -0 minutes, I had my first single of vanilla custard with Heath bits on it. ($3.99) Delish! Others ordered mint choc chic with ores which I heard was a great combo. Wish I lived in Fort Wirth so I could come more often! Also wish they had inside seating.

Mike C.

Yelp
Do not order online, they do not answer the phone when you get there or apparently check for online orders.
