The 22 Best Seattle Cafes To Work In - Seattle - The Infatuation

"At first glance, Current Coffee looks like a humble counter where you tap your credit card for a cortado or one of the Sea Wolf pastries and leave. But that’d be ignoring the staircase on the right that ascends to one of the calmest workstations in town, dripping with mahogany wood and an artsy white and blue doodle mural. They’re only open until 3pm, but if you’re an early bird working East Coast hours, we can’t think of a better morning productivity palace." - aimee rizzo, kayla sager riley

The Best Cafes in Seattle for Remote Work | Eater Seattle

"This West Seattle coffee shop is a serious-about-coffee operation: beans from small-batch roaster Dorothea, Sea Wolf pastries, natural wine for sale by the bottle. But head upstairs and you get one of the coziest remote work spots in the city: quiet, bright, and with great views of the shop’s mural." - Harry Cheadle

Where To Go On A Coffee Date In Seattle - Seattle - The Infatuation

"Current has a two-story design that can scratch different intellects’ itches, between artsy wallpaper depicting swirly abstract humanoids and the chocolatey wood-blasted library stunt double upstairs. Their massive mugs of coffee are always hit-the-spot excellent, and there are some Adirondack chairs outside if it’s not raining." - aimee rizzo

14 Essential Seattle Coffee Shops

"Open daily from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., this one of the best places to hang out or work remotely in West Seattle. There’s upstairs seating that gives you a great view of the mural, Sea Wolf pastries, and some primo beans, including some from Dorothea, a small-batch local roaster that is only available in a few coffee shops." - Eater Staff, Mark Van Streefkerk, Harry Cheadle

Great atmosphere great neighborhood. I liked sitting down the wooden big chair and having relaxing time with fresh air. The biscotti is real big!! Love it. Coffee is tasty. Barista is friendly Had a great experience!

Google
Excellent lattes! Pleasant atmosphere. Comfortable loft space with books and games. Outdoor Adirondack chairs will be great for the warmer months.

The upstairs area is nice and cozy, great for reading or work. My experience here was decent, no complaints but nothing to write home about either. We got there over an hour before closing and they had no pastries left, not sure if that’s the norm or we were just late. It’s also on a quieter strip in west seattle so not very walkable if that’s something you’re looking for.

This shop has been on my check out list for a while and I have so much regret for not visiting sooner because I am enamored. The atmosphere is bright, blue, with beachy accents and a very fun wallpaper of people drinking coffee. There's a downstairs where you order and a moderately sized upstairs lounge with a good amount of seating, puzzles, books and games. Their retail coffee selections rotate from the best roasters in the northwest like Boon Boona, Luna, Olympia, Camber, Dorothea and I love seeing a shop really boast what our region has to offer. I ordered an espresso of Luna's washed Honduras which had an extremely smooth body yet popping notes of pear and strawberry, and also ordered a blackcurrant scone which hit the spot. Overall, the service was impeccable, the atmosphere is very relaxing, and the coffee was mind blowing. Will be back again soon!

Google
Absolutely my favorite coffee shop in Seattle to chill and get work done. Also a great space if the toddler is with you for the afternoon as they have a little play nook to keep them busy for a few hours. Excellent space design with great light and work areas upstairs, I love to sit on the bar and look down into the cafe for work. Also great multi roaster selection of great coffees and teas from Boon Boona, Dorothea, and many more PNW gems. Can't recommend it enough thanks for all the great writing vibes.

Google
Really impressed by their coffee, especially the single origin. The coffee shop is also great for a small group in their upper seating area. One of the better coffee shops I’ve been to in Seattle.

Google
I've been looking for other good specialty coffee places in Seattle, and this one was very good. A nice space, with a small mercantile, and a neat loft area above. Only downside I would say is I can see how this space would get excessively warm when it gets hotter out, the upstairs is definitely warmer, and that's where essentially all of the seating is.

I went to Current Coffee with my grandmother today and really enjoyed it. The building and interior design are just gorgeous. I loved the mural and the library-esque upstair vibe. My grandmother ordered a latte and I had an Americano with steamed oat milk. Both were delicious and tasted quite high quality. The owner is a very friendly fellow who chatted with us for a bit. Definitely a cool spot in West Seattle that’s worth trying out.

Yelp
We went to the West Seattle Farmers Market and decided to grab some coffee afterwards and was suggested to this place. I got a cortado, it was nice and balance. My partner got a vanilla oat latte, it was interesting, tasted different than other places, more floral. Good service. I gave this place 4 over 5 stars because the vibe was off and probably wouldn't come back. It felt more like a concept space than cafe.

Yelp
I came here on a Saturday around 11am to get some work done and absolutely loved it! The ambiance, the service, the atmosphere, all of it was just great! You order your drinks and food on the first floor and then can head upstairs to enjoy it. I'm not a coffee drinker, so apologies because I can't speak to their coffee, but I did get a 12 oz hot chocolate and was decently surprised that it was less than $4! I feel like you can rarely find that these days. Plus it was a good hot chocolate Their upstairs area is quite nice, a good amount of seating and there's enough people heading in and out that I don't think it'd be common to not find a spot to sit. It's a great place to come study, get work done, or just hang out.

Yelp
This place is honestly one of the most inviting coffee shops I've been to in a long time. It's Seattle so coffee shops are everywhere, West Seattle coffee shops have a more unique character than other parts of the city in my opinion and Current Coffee is top tier. Their coffee is great, I've had hot and cold options and they're all good. Their staff is very friendly, even if it's a little busy, and inviting. I've never had trouble finding street parking and the neighborhood is super cute.

Yelp
My favorite spot! I love their seasonal drinks and everyone here is always friendly. Space doesn't feel small inside and there is an upstairs seating area where you can sit.

Yelp
Love the ambience of this place! I can get so much work done, the lighting and the music are perfect. WiFi hasn't been working well recently so I would just bring a book or a hotspot just in case. Seawolf baked goods are available, I would love to see some vegan options. The coffee is also delicious and I truly enjoyed my dirty chai on my last visit.

Yelp
We came from North Seattle to try this trendy coffee shop. It's a quaint little shop with beautiful decor. The coffee is delicious. The staff is very friendly. We will be back.

Yelp
Friendly customer service and chill atmosphere. They have Doce Donuts which are delicious !!! I recommend the tres leches donut. I recommend this coffee shop if you're ever in the Admiral West Seattle area.

Yelp
There's a reason they have five stars. It's because everything about this place is charming, and wonderful. The coffee is TOP TIER. Spectacular. Easily makes the top five on our "I'm a coffee snob*, and so is my spouse" LOL I've had several of their drinks poured every which way. All are 10/10. My spouse is more of a specialty lattes only type. They usually offer one per season, and she has enjoyed every one so far!! They get donuts twice a week from Doce and pastries from somewhere else. It's a nice touch. The wine selection is equally fabulous. Pick up a bottle for later when you grab your morning cappuccino The community support is also very recognizable here. Plenty of familiar faces. Once saw the entire fire depts sat out front in chairs sipping on a variety of drinks. Everyone is friendly, the space is perfect for reading, working, or hanging out with a friend / partner. *not actually a snob, just an appreciator of a good brew, and can tell when it's above and beyond good

Yelp
Pro: good coffee, great treats from Sea Wolf, very cozy seating areas upstairs and outside with a dedicated nook upstairs for little kids. Friendly staff. Cons: line out the door most mornings! Oh no! Too many coffee snobs in this neighborhood, oh well.

Joanna J.

Yelp
Loved the ambience scones and coffee. Will be back. Its a great place to be able to sit and work too

Yelp
Traditional coffee house with good techniques to their drinks. Their pastries are delicious and usually are sold out around noon. They also sell wine and have an upstairs lounge area.

Yelp
With some seats outside and a cozy space upstairs, Current is a perfect spot for getting some work done or reading a book. The barista was so lovely and friendly. They made a fantastic cortado. Highly recommend. Oh they also serve sea wolf pastries which are my favorite! When I'm in West Seattle, it's a great spot to stop by.

Yelp
Ambiance excellent. Quiet, comfortable and pleasant. The owner is very friendly and welcoming. Lots of power outlets for devices. Food was minimal and the drip coffee was not that good, but I do recommend this place as a Starbucks alternative in North Admiral.

Yelp
Easily and without doubt the BEST coffee in West Seattle and possibly even the entire city. The ambience, flawless. The decor, minimalistic and clean. The milk, velvety. The espresso, brilliant, bright, and flavorful. Staff is incredible and knowledgeable. Just come here for the highest quality cup of coffee.

Yelp
This is a great, cozy spot! Not only is the coffee delicious but it is a nice spot to come and work. The vibe is calm and serene making it easy to focus. The coffee menu is seasonal with a good amount of options. And the service is excellent. Very fast and helpful when deciding on what kind of coffee.

Yelp
Great cafe had us covered while in town for a few days. Espresso was very tasty, presentation beautiful, and the space was a nice zone to hang out. The chocolate chip cookie with salt on top also very good. We'll be back on our next trip to town!

Amanda P.

Yelp
We love this coffee shop in North Admiral. We've been coming here since it opened and it is consistently excellent. The staff are always engaging and put a smile on my face. We also love to sit out front in the Adirondack chairs and talk about life.

Lindsie H.

Yelp
Amazing coffee! Amazing customer service! Amazing atmosphere! If you're in west Seattle this is a must try coffee spot, you won't regret it!

Jen B.

Yelp
We were in west Seattle for a soccer game looking for a coffee shop that used something other than hersheys or Ghirardelli or basic chocolate for their mochas. Found this cute spot and had the best mocha ever!! We didn't have any food but the coffees we had were excellent, the staff friendly and the ambiance five stars for sure!

Yelp
Current is down the road from my office, and after discovering it last year, I've been a regular several times per week. It's not exaggeration to say that the owner and his skilled/knowledgeable team of baristas, along with their carefully curated selection of beans from local roasters, has actually caused me to fall in love with coffee again. The coffee drinks they prepare are scientifically constructed and artfully presented, and I'm always enlightened by our discussions of the coffee I'm about to imbibe. I also buy my beans for home from Current, because I know every bag they put on their shelf will be an unexpected, beautiful, and diverse flavor experience. Plus, they're just really cool, friendly, laid back folks over there. Great space to hang out upstairs, amongst a wall of books and friendly chatter. Every bit of the shop has the feel of being carefully considered for your enjoyment and sense of welcome. I can't recommend this coffee shop highly enough. It's the best coffee in West Seattle.

Tiana R.

Yelp
Fantastic coffee, top notch pastries from Sea Wolf and super friendly owner that's always welcoming. They always have some dog treats for the pups as well. Our new West Seattle favorite.
