We got here around 1:45pm on a weekend and the line was pretty long. It took over an hour just to get seated. While you’re waiting, a staff comes by to show you the menu and takes your order a bit later.
We went with the spicy beef curry. For a spice lover like me, it wasn’t really that hot, but the curry itself had a nice deep flavor. Since I grew up in Korea, the taste felt pretty familiar. It reminded me of those old-school Western-style restaurants I used to go. Honestly, I wouldn’t wait an hour for this again, but my friend who was trying this style of curry for the first time absolutely loved it.
They serve potatoes and butter first and everyone at the table basically inhaled them before the curry even arrived. We got three small potatoes. I read somewhere that the pro tip is to melt butter on half of them and mash the other half into your curry. Personally, I thought the rice portion is huge, so the amount of curry felt a bit lacking in comparison.
There were a few things that felt awkward, especially the seating. In the room to the right, there’s a large 6 person table where you have to sit side-by-side with your group. I ended up staring right at the people across from me the whole time. It was super uncomfortable and I don’t get why they set it up like that.
Heads up. They only take cash, so make sure to bring some!
