The atmosphere was very neat and cozy like home. The staff friendly offered us an english menu. Worthy place to try authentic japanese curry.

Grilled curry with seafood. A popular restaurant located within the Kawabata shopping arcade in Fukuoka. It’s like a baked oven rice with grilled curry sauce. Not spicy at all although the spice level can be adjusted. Wanted to get the three meat option but they ran out so I settled for the seafood version.

What can I say. The best seafood curry I have ever eaten! I just stopped because I can't eat anymore. It's like Japanese curry with a bit Paella soul. Also design of the restaurant is quite good. Ambiance is well thought and have vintage vibe. All in all completely recommended. And could be a good place for dates also.

The best japanese curry ever! Normally curry is served with cutlet but this restaurant is different. They serve roasted pork rib and seafood in clay pot, which is really tasty and unforgetable. There are cheese and eggs on top. You should try this place. 100/10 recommended. Lets the picture tell the story.

This place deserve a 5 full star… I stumbled upon this Resturant and walked in to try. We order their salad with cured ham, seafood curry claypot rice with cheese and egg, original curry claypot rice with cheese and egg & Spare-rib curry claypot cheese and egg. The salad came with a variety selection of veg, cured meat that’s not too salty and the dressing (Japanese) was done to the perfection. All our curry claypot rice were top in taste. The cheese over the rice was bake to golden crisp and the surprise came when the egg below the cheese ooze out, dripping n spreading over the rice below. Amount of curry n Taste wise was indeed done to the perfection!!! The waitress was super attentive in serving and very kind in explaining as we were all foreigners. The ambience was a total nostalgia fr the 70s… love it.

The meats are well caramelized, the seafood is good as well as the curry. The cheese on top is also a good combination with the curry. Would be better if the place is a little cooler since the food is hot and spicy. Nevertheless, highly recommended.

An atmospheric and quaint Japanese curry house in the covered Kawabata shopping arcade next to Kushida Shrine. Had their famous baked curry which was excellent! The spiciness is customisable - I opted for Level 3 which packed a punch, in the nicest possible way. English menu available, and wine by the glass too. A must-return-to kind of place when I next in Fukuoka!

I thought roasted curry would be something you expected. Just curry. No it’s not!!!!!! It’s so delicious. Curry roasted in the ceramic pot maintain the heat! Surprised me so much !!!!!! 5-Stars. Roasted curry 🍛 is also one of the famous food of Fukuoka! I love it and enjoy it very much. Thank you.

I followed the Yelp reviews to this place... Great food, but the smoking inside was a big turn off. Unfortunately, we had already ordered when we someone started smoking, but waiter was very nice, noticed our angst, and offered to move us as soon as a table further in the front of the restaurant became available. An English menu was available which helped, but the waiter also spoke enough to guide us through the menu. We had the seafood curry, chicken curry (daily special), and an order of the curry bread. Only a few pieces of chicken in the lunch set, but all of the dishes tasted great! Loved the added spice in the seafood curry and the runny egg on top! Also, the curry bread alone was worth the trip!

The first restaurant I found using Yelp and it's a really good one :) I wanted to eat grilled curry (焼きカレー | Yakikarē) again for a long time and was happy to find this restaurant just 5 minutes away from my home. We went there for a late lunch so there weren't much other guests. I liked the shop as soon as we entered. The interior is mostly wood with many cute decorations everywhere. This creates a nice and warm atmosphere. The prices for grilled curry are between ¥850 - ¥1100. Grilled curry is usually Japanese curry with grilled cheese on top, but this restaurant also adds an egg, what makes it even better. They also have normal Japanese curry (for around ¥850) and curry soup (for around ¥900). There are some side dishes like Yakikarē pan (a bun with curry filling and topped with grilled cheese) and salad, too (¥200 - ¥400). When ordering any of the curry dishes you can choose how spicy you want it to be. There is one option milder than standard and one spicier, that are without extra charge. If you want it even spicier you need to pay an extra charge of ¥50, ¥100 or ¥150, depending on how spicy you want it. We ordered the Special grilled curry (スペシャル焼きカレー), which has beef, pork and chicken and the Seafood grilled curry (シーフード焼きカレー). Both dishes are from the recommended menu and costed ¥1000 (we went for the free of charge spicier option). And both tasted so good! We will certainly go here again :) I also like that the dishes looked exactly like the pictures on the menu, since many restaurants show only photoshopped pictures. Here you can be sure to get what you saw before! :)
