Absolutely delicious! We tried the Thalappakatti Biryani for the Easter special and it was a hit with my entire family. The food was packed with flavor, and my friends had highly recommended this place—and they were right! A big thanks to the chefs for the amazing meal. We’ll definitely be coming back again and recommending it to everyone we know!

Omg! This place is a gem. Even though I’m from Sri Lanka I love their taste. And prices were very reasonable! You can find Sri Lankan type rolls, egg pastries, parippu vada etc. Kerala fish curry and chicken biriyani were also so delicious!

Ordered carry out for the very first time. I was extremely disappointed in the quality and flavor of the food. We ordered butter chicken and paneer tikka masala with naan bread and that experience did not go well. Butter chicken had no butter flavor and was cooked in some strange looking light yellow sauce with a very bold coconut flavor. It was not even close the butter chicken sauce. Chicken was not marinated and it almost felt I was eating boiled chicken in some creamy sauce. Paneer tikka masala has the exact same negative feel to it. Paneer was hard and was cooked in the exact same sauce like butter chicken and tasted horrible. (Take a look at the pictures I posted). I kind of felt sick eating their food. Finally their naan bread was not fresh. Naan bread was the kind you can buy frozen from the store and microwave them. Triangle shaped naan bread cut in to half. Overall I will not recommend them. You will pay the same price as good India restaurants and the food here taste outright horrible.

We bought a couple of items today. Including a ginger pickle which was expired like 4 months before. Owners are not careful about removing exp items from the shelf. It would be great if we get a refund for it. Buyers please be cautious, make sure you check the exp date.

A ver good grocery store. You will love it if you are shopping for Indian groceries, food to take out etc. They have a lot of south Indian items and frozen items. There is also frozen fish. You can find very good guality frozen jack fruit, grated coconut etc. Food items to take out like Biriyani, appam, vegetarian curries are yummy and really worth for the price. You may also find middle eastern food item al faham.

I’m seriously hooked on this food! When I tried this place about four months ago, some dishes were great, while others were just okay. But now, something has changed—they’ve truly taken the flavors to another level. Whatever they’ve done recently has elevated the taste to pure excellence. I ordered takeout and tried the Chicken Nirvana and Payyoli Chicken Fry (both new additions), along with the Squid Roast and Beef Fry, made in traditional Kerala style. Every dish was packed with authentic flavors, perfectly spiced, and cooked just right. The quality and consistency have improved significantly, and it’s now among the best Kerala food I’ve had. Even though it's a takeout-only spot, the food traveled well and tasted just as fresh at home. If you're looking for the best Kerala food in Chicago, this is the place. Highly recommend it to anyone who wants to experience real Kerala flavors. 5/5—I’ll definitely be ordering again

Curry Leaves Restaurant has truly stepped up its game with an incredible variety of dishes! They now offer a wide selection, including Valluvanad Chicken Curry, Dragon Chicken, Shrimp Pickle, Chicken Porichadhu, and Pepper Chicken—all absolutely delicious. The flavors are rich, authentic, and perfectly balanced. My friends also tried the Angamaly Pork Curry and couldn’t stop raving about it, calling it a must-try dish! While I don’t eat pork, their excitement was enough to confirm how amazing it must be. If you’re looking for authentic, flavorful food with an extensive menu, this place is a top choice. Highly recommended!

Yelp
What most Americans think of as Indian food is really Punjabi regional cuisine, food heavy on cream and butter. That's what almost all Indian restaurants here serve. Indian food is so much more! Kerala cuisine, from the south eastern coast of India, is tropical cuisine with Portuguese and Arab influence, due to historic ties. Lots of coconut, fish, beef and pork. That's correct! 90% of Indians in India eat meat and a significant portion of them eat beef and pork. Go to Curry Leaves on a Saturday around lunch time and pick up freshly made, piping hot, authentic Kerala cuisine. Say hello to Rashmi and ask for her help in picking the right food for you to try. You won't be disappointed!

Yelp
As an elite yelp I tend not to leave one stair reviews if it possible, this place from the outside looks immaculate. It is very clean inside very nice to people are very friendly and they seem to have a really good selection. This review is for the prepared food only. My son and I went there Sunday afternoon last week. He had a taste for Indian and a number of the places were closed that Sunday so on our way home we spotted curry leaves in a Strip mall. They have a number of dishes such as butter chicken chicken biryani chicken 65 that sort of thing already prepared and to go containers on a table, I thought it was kind of weird that food was not hot but I was told it was just freshly prepared. This I doubt very seriously. Now my son gets Indian probably about once a week from different places, he loves Indian food. So imagine our surprise when we got this food we're going to Coachella home and a couple of hours later he felt I'll, four days later and still not going to school we got to the doctor's office he is now on antibiotics to kill a bacterial infection and is:. Since we had identical food the two days previous the only thing different was he had Indian food and I had Popeyes chicken clearly means the Indian food got him sick. Another thing that struck me funny that I remember is when I purchased the food to go they charge me five dollars extra to go fee, this seemed rather pricey and unfair. I highly recommend avoiding the food here as my son is still sick from it, if you want to go ahead and I take my advice that's up to you but I would avoid this place like the plague.

Yelp
I just want to leave this review for those people that might not realize it's catered food. They make large batches of food that are convenient to take and go for people that are familiar with REAL Indian food. That is why it is already prepared, so people can grab it and warm it up at home and eat it. I'm pretty sure you can make it to your liking if you call and ask if "biriyani can me made for next week without nuts". If you're looking for more restaurant type of a situation, then there are many Indian restaurants around the area. Everything is clean and tidy! I would suggest going on the weekends for the freshest food.

Yelp
Very nice and friendly grocery store with a huge spread of ready to go takeaway food. The owners are very friendly and treat you like one. That's reason good enough to go there. The food here is kerala cuisine. So it might be a hit or miss with non keralites. I love the snacks, Parotta, beef fry, alfam rice are my favorites. The biryani is not to my liking.

Yelp
Small Indian grocery shop having Kerala items. Snacks, plus they carry pre made refrigerated dosa batter. Everyday they put out cooked meals to take and eat such as beef fry with coconut, shrimp fry, biryani, meat cutlets, etc. dishes have authentic Kerala taste. Very clean. Call to see what time they are putting cooked food out and what dishes they have that day.

Yelp
Consistently good Kerala food for pick up. Had traditional food (sadya) catered from here, and it was really good. Try their pothichoru, fried fish, fish curry and snacks. They have a decent collection of Indian groceries and frozen foods too. You can always call ahead and see if what you want is available, before driving to pick it up.

Yelp
I ordered take-out food for the first time from Curry Leaves - this was through Yelp/GrubHub. The online menu showed several items being available, but 1 hour after placing the order, I kept getting text messages that one item or another was not available and it was being substituted for another. I called Curry Leaves and was rudely told that they did not have any order but to come in and see what was available. I drove to the place and all of the food items were placed on a long table alongside a wall - they were at room temperature and uncovered. The meat, chicken, fish etc. had been placed in plastic containers without any lids and people were walking alongside the table picking things at random - I saw a couple of people pick and put things back - very dirty and unhygenic and unhealthy given that we have just come back from covid. I decided to cancel my order and was rudely told by the owner that he had already cancelled my order as 3 of the items were not available. I would not recommend this restaurant for their lack of courtesy, not having the right items on the online menu, having a dirty and negligent way of storing the food. You can eat this food at your own risk - don't say you weren't warned.
