Curry-Ya Uptown

Let me start by saying, save yourself wasted time and just go to Go Go Curry on 125th and Broadway. The only thing good about this place is the presentation. The food is extremely overpriced for the amount given, not to mention the inflated price of the so called "sides" (for reference, a small amount of corn costs $1.50). Although the taste of the curry wasn't terrible, it was far too spicy to be labeled mild. The chicken katsu was all dark meat and fat and the pork katsu was just okay. Another disappointing aspect of our trip was the fact that a majority of menu items were unavailable. For example I wanted the seaweed salad and was advised "oh we dont do that here anymore. The menu is a little outdated". For an authentic japanese curry experience, just visit Go Go Curry as we visit several times a month and have never been disappointed.

Amazing baked curry rice - rich in umami with lots of Smoky overhang. Rich and addictive

Pretty good food, if a bit pricey. The pork sausage topping was better than the chicken I had in my curry. This place will definitely come in handy when I crave curry but don't want to travel all the way down to St Marks. The lady at the counter was friendly too. Suggested the place next door when I asked for gyoza (which we also purchased).

Decent food, but way overpriced. We ordered one hamburger curry and one pork katsu curry. The food was actually pretty tasty to be fair, but the curry came with zero veggies of any kind and all the portions were very small, especially when the total for the two dishes was over $30 ($36 with tip and tax). Disappointing.

Delicious, authentic Japanese curry! I work at City College and love the new addition to our neighborhood. I do wish they had cheaper lunch deals (smaller portions?).. I would come more often.

Great local Harlem place for really good Japanese curry. Love the baked curry dishes which are served in cast iron. The dinner salad is awesome with an Asian vinaigrette and pickled veggies. Really good place, and clean, with a slick industrial decor.

I am SUPER happy there is a Japanese curry place, FINALLY uptown! Especially Curry-Ya! I was first introduced to it downtown, and was bummed how far it was to get to as well as taking cash only. His location? • They take credit card!; • Low-key at around 13:00 [1:00 p.m.]; and • I ordered takeout. Of course, those pictures would not do it justice, so I need to dine in next time. A tad pricy, so watch out miscellaneous additions. I orders the pork cutlet with the additional croquet. I thought the croquet was a bit smaller, though delicious. I definitely shall be making my way to being a regular.
