On the Grid : Curzon Cinema

"Formerly the Renoir Cinema, the Curzon is an iconic venue in Bloomsbury. Opening in 1972 the cinema originally had 2 screens and was dedicated to showing small independent films. Now housing 6 screens with a 320 person capacity, the Curzon Cinema still screens some of the smaller releases with one screen exclusively showing documentaries. The fusion of state of the art development and its historic roots makes this cinema unique. Visually, the interior is heart achingly beautiful with a brutalist influence - raw materials such as concrete and brass dominate throughout and execution of typography/signage is perfect. As if this isn't enough already, films are shown via the latest 4K high-definition digital projectors. They also do a mean pre-film G&T." - IYA Studio

A big thank you to curzon Victoria! A week ago I and husband enjoyed a late evening film and forgot to take our embrella with us when we left. It is an item of functionality as well as much emotional value to us. We went back to the cenima a couple of days later to enquire about whether someone had found it and kept it for such enquiries. Indeed, Mr Stefan had done exactly that. With the help of Aisling and Josephine, we got our embrella back. We are thrilled and full of gratitude. It is such small but kindest acts by the staff that make us feel welcome and comfortable going to Curzon in Victoria. Thank you all. We look forward to our next visit.

I visited for a coffee and cake with friends so can recommend the café. The foyer is nice and light, the chocolate brownie and coffee were good, with a combined offer price under £7. There's more comfortable seating upstairs. It's a nice quiet refuge compared to the chain coffee shops nearby. I can't comment on the cinema itself as haven't seen a film there for years

It was a while since I visited a Curzon Cinema and it’s something I will do more. This location is comparable to an Everyman experience cinema. It’s cozy, and has good choice of food and drink. Sofas for waiting are comfortable. Chilled and waited for film to start. Popcorn has a great taste, location was great, I didn’t find it hard for parking but I can imagine on weekday this could become a problem so picking right time is advisable. I was in walking distance to a choice of other restaurants for food. Right next to travel by train or bus….opposite, so extremely good. Had a Shake Shack burger just close by. So ticked all boxes for before and after a visit to this cozy, very comfortable cinema. Staff were friendly and place was clean.

Amazing Cinema, the seats are super comfy and the staff is super kind! My partner and I were full of luggage and they held them for us to allow the best experience. Also the bathroom is beautiful, every stall had a quote inside! I absolutely will come back next time I'll visit London again :)

I attended a 17:15 screening and the screening room was not ready on time. Staff told us the room still needed to be cleaned, yet there had been no film showing in that room beforehand, which makes the delay even more unacceptable. We were only allowed in around 10 minutes after the scheduled start time, with no real explanation or apology. For a cinema at this price point, basic punctuality should be a given. The screening room itself was small and had poor acoustics. The echo of people eating popcorn was constant and genuinely distracting, making it difficult to enjoy the film at all. Overall, this was a frustrating and below-standard experience. I expect much better from Curzon.

Google
I visited this cinema around early July, I found the staff friendley and helpful, and the atmosphere very nice, the only negative was I found the main bar downstairs a little dingiky lit, overall I loved the experience and will come back in the future. Service:4/5 Atmosphere:4/5 Decor:5/5 Overall:4/5

It's a cozy and stylish theatre. When I first arrived, I thought I might be in the wrong place because it looks like a bar. The cinema is downstairs, with a bar on the ground floor where you can grab a beer or wine while waiting for your film. I watched Inside Out 2 on a weekday night, and it wasn’t crowded at all. The staff were friendly, and the whole experience was fantastic.

Google
Beautiful space to hang out and watch movies in the spacious sofas whilst enjoying your drink, with a feeling of having your own personal space. There is a bar and restaurant, so that even if you are a bit early you can relax outside. The layout across the floors is spacious and the membership deals are good. The screens were themselves well maintained and very clean and so we're the toilets.

Yelp
Good indie cinema in London center. Grab a coffee here and the gourmet hot dog. Spot on. Took a star away for the seating but put it back for the special Curzon preview short.

Yelp
This is a great independent and spacious cinema. The building interior is well designed, sleek with comfy reclining seats in the auditorium. The cinema tickets are pretty pricey, however I am impressed by the lounge/bar areas and especially the internet/lounge area. They actually provide films with headphones so you can watch films on TV, and it's a nice place to come if you needed somewhere cool to do some work or just have a drink while you checked your emails when it's not busy. Wifi here is free.

Yelp
Comfy, classy cinema near Victoria. It's a tad on the pricy side, but given the seats include sofas you can share as well, super comfy seats and little tables to put your drinks/snacks on, it's more of an experience than just a trip to the cinema. The showings during the day tend to be pretty empty, so if you have the day off and fancy a viewing almost (if not entirely) to yourself, it's a great place to pop in, especially given it's not far at all from Victoria Station.

Yelp
Great movie theatre. Free wifi and wonderful bar. If you are a member, the price is only 5£

Yelp
This is our local cinema - looks great, extremely sleek, you almost wouldn't know its a cinema! But oh so expensive its almost ridiculous... Sure the seats recline, sure you can bring your drink in but at that price ?! Drinks are reasonably prices, especially compared to cinema ticket... Its a lovely independent cinema, but honestly for me what does it ia its location.... Wouldnt be going there for anyother reason - but i do appreciate everything around it of course

Yelp
For the first time I watched a movie in an independent cinema. Very quirky - the seats are more comfortable as my own sofa. The bar looks amazing, but didn't have any alcoholic drinks. Amazed by the interior. Don't know exactly why I am mentioning it: but the washrooms were very clean. Loved it. Will recommend at any time to anyone. Absolut a winner for a date.

Yelp
A fantastic place to watch a film. Small, high quality auditoriums. Worth the extra cost.
