Custom Meats is hands down the best butcher shop I’ve ever experienced. The quality is unmatched — beef, pork, chicken, lamb — everything is local, pasture-raised, and grass-fed, and you can truly taste the difference. If you’ve only ever had grocery store meat, you don’t even know what beef is supposed to taste like until you’ve had theirs. It’s rich, clean, flavorful — nothing like the typical CAFO supermarket stuff.
They also carry cuts you would never find in a regular grocery store, which makes cooking so much more interesting. And the sausages are unreal. Creative flavor combinations and every single one is delicious. We’ve never had a bad one.
Beyond the meat, their homemade bone broth, sauces, and pickles are outstanding. You can tell everything is made with care and intention.
On weekends they make incredible made-to-order sandwiches that are worth planning your day around. And they’ve recently started offering sausage-making and beef butchery classes — we attended the sausage-making class and had an absolute blast. It was informative, hands-on, and we left feeling as stuffed as a sausage casing.
Yes, it’s a little pricier than the grocery store — but you truly get what you pay for. When it comes to high-quality, nutrient-dense, responsibly raised meat, it’s worth every penny.
