I had a great experience at custom PT, it was easy to get an apportionment just an hour ahead of the actual appointment. Very friendly and professional staff to support onboarding etc and the PT was excellent. She diagnosed my injury well and was very understanding of my personal situation. It clicked, and a day later I had all required scans done to confirm the hypothesis. This was amazing to experience a week and half before race-day! It is because of this urgency and professionalism that I may yet run the NYC marathon again! Thank you!

My clinician, Anthony, listened attentively and assessed my condition right away. This allowed him to devise a program for me to work on both in the studio and at home. Anthony is intuitive and highly skilled. I know I'm in good hands with him. Furthermore, I appreciated the warm welcome when I arrived, and, importantly, the calm environment. Overall, outstanding!

I was convinced that I would not be able to run a marathon I had signed up for due to a knee injury. Custom Performance (specifically Dr. Kelsea Masterson) worked with me to successfully rehab and complete my race. Cannot recommend them enough, you’re in good hands here!

Great Experience. Dr. Kelsea was very attentive and knowledgeable. She did a strength and mobility assessment and then a form check which she recorded on video. We then reviewed the video and she identified areas of improvements. After that she showed me several exercises and drills to do to improve my weaknesses. This is exactly what I was hoping for when I made my initial appointment. I can’t recommend highly enough.

A runner’s one-stop paradise! Every PT is super knowledgeable whether you’re running your first marathon or you’re a professional track athlete. My go-to for recovery massage, compression boots, cold tub, physical therapy, anti-gravity treadmill, running-specific strength training, and more. They truly have EVERYTHING. Custom helps me get to the start line of every race healthy so I can accomplish my highest running goals. If you are a runner in NYC, I highly recommend scheduling a consultation!

Custom PT is the best rehab service and customer care. They gave me specific exercises and treatment for my hip issue and now I'm feeling super strong again!!!

Dr. Rhiannon Jardim was exactly the person I needed to see. So deeply knowledgeable, with incredible attention to detail, she noticed every little quirk about my body. Really genius. She also understood me and gave me the boost of confidence I needed as a runner and a human.

I love getting a good shake out/ fresh leg session here. Friendly and caring staff, great service perfect for long distance and short sprint runners!

What can I say about Custom Performance.. No negative feedback from me! One of the best if not the BEST Physical Therapy Offices around! Wendy and all the PT's that work here are Incredible! Greg is the one I work with the most and he really has made my legs and back feel sooo much better!! They have a cold tub for any one to use. I have used it and boy does it help with recovery!! Custom Performance also has had special events take place with Famous runners ( Meb, Des and others) Come in and speak.. and they also have special get togethers at a bar for their running team called Streets 101 and for their community. The office is very clean and they have been and still are taking precautions with covid-19 and Mask wearing. It is a Very Welcoming PT office as soon as you step foot into it. The front desk staff are always so nice as well!

At first I was very reluctant to come here. This logic doesn't make any sense now because I was preparing for the marathon and had pain while running. I had knee pains but my gut told me the pain was coming from somewhere else and I wanted someone with knowledge of the whole body. I've worked with too many bad PTs who only focused on a certain area. Since this was during Covid, my first session we were to be virtual. I declined my first meeting because I had just spent a lot of money somewhere else and the in-person sessions were unhelpful. I didn't think a virtual session would be worth my time or money. After I explained this, someone asked to speak with me. She explained somethings but honestly I only remember being told I could try it at no cost and see how it goes. First one is always free right? Turns out the 30 minutes I had virtually with Andrew was 100x better than any in-person session I've had. It was clear he understood my concern and gave me advice and targeted exercises to get me started. After a few sessions, I was able to run farther before the pain returned. Not only did I feel better physically but there was a sense of relief knowing I could ask any question about my training or anatomy and he would have a solid response. I am impressed at how much Andrew knows and continues to read/study. We discussed my other non-running activities and he helped me to identify the root cause of my pains. When the offices opened up, I went in for in-person consultations. I was pleasantly surprised by how large, clean and bright the space is. There isn't a lot of equipment but they have the essentials. Seeing my gait analysis was incredibly helpful. Small tweaks instantly changed my gait. Because running was so painful, I never thought it could be fun but it can be... if you have the right therapist to help you.

I have been visiting custom performance for the last few months to help deal with IT band pain from running as well as general tightness, pain, and other issues in my quads, hamstrings, and lower legs. I worked with Lisbeth, and she did an amazing job each week helping me improve my flexibility and strength by giving me exercises to do at home that worked well with the PT I received at custom performance. If you are getting into distance running, I highly recommend Custom Performance. They are knowledgeable, helpful, and highly skilled!

New York Customer PT must be the cleanest and nicest physical therapy facility in the city (not that I have checked out many). This location opened just a few months ago in a commercial building in the mid-town area. Wendy, who founded and runs the facility, is a gifted PT practitioner. She specializes in helping runners and also in treating midtown monkeys with broken backs. I have had a lower back pain from keeping a poor posture at work, and Wendy has been working on setting it right over the past few months. My rate of improvement is only constrained by my own inability to diligently follow her recommended behaviors and exercises. During the course of your program, Wendy will teach you routines that you can practice at home or at your gym with a trainer. If only I was able to comply, I would likely be feeling significantly better now. But then I wouldn't have an excuse to visit nycustompt and see discernible improvement from just a 45-60 minute with Wendy, the intense PT guru.

I first visited Custom Performance two years ago for tendonitis in my foot and it was the best decision I've ever made. The entire staff at Custom Performance are experts and focus on holistically treating / healing injuries. I suffered an ankle sprain that I thought would've sidelined me for the NYC marathon, but with the help of the staff and coaches at Custom PT, I was able to complete the marathon. I have recommended countless family members and friends to use Custom Performance's services. I truly cannot recommend them enough!

I've been working with Kathleen for a couple months to strengthen a weak/injured hip flexor and she is a rockstar. She has a fantastic long-term approach that incorporates cross-training, strengthening, stretching, and a running plan with their running coach, Chris Forti. Our sessions are intense and she's great at rehabilitation, but she knows that long-term performance is critical and is helping me hit the pavement better and stronger than ever. The whole team at Custom PT is friendly and helpful. They're knowledgeable, professional, and very caring. They have a beautiful facility with awesome resources/cool technology that aid in the recovery process. For training and recovery, this is really the place to go.

Physical Therapy + Community I started going to Custom PT eight weeks after a sesamoid fracture - my first running injury. Everyone who works there genuinely cares about the people who come in to recover and get stronger. They share great insight via email and blogs; cheer on their patients at runs that are local and not so local (I'm lookin' at you, Boston); and offer a place where people of all different athletic levels - with a wide range of goals - can come to not only restore and repair the body, but the spirit as well. (Cause if you are reading this review because you have an injury - you know how soul-crushing it can be) They get ALL THE STARS in my book!!

Let me start out by saying I have been a perpetually injured runner since I started racing as an adult in NYC in 2011. I have tried many physical therapy clinics and Custom is THE BEST! I am a very active person (fitness instructor, mountain biker, road cyclist, crazy person) and they've been able to help me tailor my training, strength & recovery programs to meet my multi-faceted needs. I have had 2 minor setbacks in my race seasons this year and Kathleen at Custom was able to get me ready for race day & still maintain pretty impressive numbers despite being a bit undertrained. I can't recommend them enough to any runner or athlete who is looking for a place that offers more than just treatments. The staff at Custom is so friendly and they care about all their clients. Sometimes I end up in there chatting after my appointments, just shooting the breeze with the team. They also sent me cupcakes after the NYC marathon. Big ups and thanks for all the support they give. Sadly, I forgot to ring the PR bell so I get a belated ring ( i hope) next time!

Over the last three+ months, I trained for my first marathon with the help of NY Custom PT. They are amazing. Everyone who works there is kind, considerate, and understanding. They took into consideration my past experience and helped me adjust various elements of my running to heal certain injuries, prevent others, and get me to the start/finish healthy and happy. They are intuitive and will listen to your goals and help you reach them. I appreciated not only the physical therapy but mental aspect that they provided. They provide their undivided attention when helping train clients for events such as a marathon or half-marathon or recovery from an injury. I could not have made it to the start AND finish healthy and without them. The facility is top-notch and was just expanded to include a full equipment area. I cannot say enough positive things about this PT clinic and highly recommend checking it out!

I love Custom Performance! Wendy, the owner, and all the PTs are super accommodating and excellent. Everyone is very knowledgeable and friendly, and Kathleen, my PT, has helped me heal from multiple injuries. She's been way more knowledgeable about running injuries than any other PT I've been to in NYC, and is a runner and triathlete herself. She's helped me during long term injuries that left me down, like a stress fracture. Kathleen brought her good humor, and effective treatment methods every time I came in, which not only helped me heal fastest but also kept my spirits up. Thank you all for the great work!

After years of running on the concrete, life finally caught up with me. The aches and pains were unbearable. I needed physical therapy. Cat Fitzgerald identified my physical ailments after the first visit. In addition, she improved my running form. She was great! Cat asked a million questions, put my body through various tests and developed a post treatment routine. All of this was accomplished within an hour. I highly recommend Cat and NY Custom Performance. Your body will thank you. She's the best!!! Gave them an extra star because they played Cradi B during my last workout.

Custom PT is the best!!! Your goals become their goals and they genuinely care and want you to achieve them! About a month into my 16 week training for my 2nd marathon I started to get severe knee pain (IT Band). The pain would kick in after about a mile or two and it made it hard to finish training runs, especially the long runs every week. I started out going to a different physical therapist that will remain nameless, but after two sessions there I knew I would never make it to the marathon if I stayed there. I was extremely frustrated and not sure if I would be able to run the marathon. At this point I googled "running physical therapist" and Custom PT came up in my search. I knew after reading the info on their website this was the type of PT I needed. I made an appointment with Cat and she was amazing from day one. The first thing she had me do was run on a treadmill while she recorded it. We then watched the video and she told me what I was doing wrong, she gave me a couple of cues to try and had me run again and recorded it again. We then watched the videos side by side and there was a vast difference just from the simple cues she gave me. We then went through a series of exercises to strengthen muscles that were weak and not being activated that can cause the pain I was experiencing. The video analysis is such an amazing tool at pinpointing what could be causing the injury. She also encouraged me to do the exercises at home and continue running and training with the cues we had worked on. The cues allowed me to complete my runs without as much pain in the beginning, while my legs were becoming stronger from the workouts. Since my training plan had been disrupted do to the injury she helped me create a plan that would give me the best chance at making it to the marathon healthy and ready. Every time I went in they worked on massaging my IT bands, stretched me out and then put me through an intense workout for about a half an hour every session. The strength training exercises were what I needed and what my training was lacking. During weeks where I logged a lot of miles training they would put me in recovery boots, and they make your legs feel great! I highly recommend Custom PT if you are a runner with an injury and need help getting back on track to achieve your goals. You meet with someone 1 on 1 that cares and wants to help you make it to your race. The entire staff and management are incredible and are super easy to work with. I always looked forward to going to physical therapy and always felt better and stronger after leaving each session. Even missing a few weeks of training due to my injury I still crushed my goal of beating my previous marathon time, my legs felt great the next day and recovery time was very minimal. I couldn't have done it without Custom PT! Thank you Cat, Greg and Jordan who were the staff I worked most closely with over the last few months. Katie is awesome, and very welcoming at the front desk when you arrive!

NY Custom PT is wonderful. I had been battling with major pain while running. Which ultimately stopped me from exercising all together. I tried everything, I was even told that I needed surgery!?!? NO bueno.... Went to NY Custom PT and was able to slowly get back to running, pain free and with a home exercise program that I still follow today. For anyone who is a runner I Highly recommend coming here. Wendy is the best, no nonsense and super knowledgable. The front desk is friendly and professional. Easy to get to and overall great experience.

NY Custom PT is great! I worked with Cat for many months: first to resolve the IT Band Syndrome I was experiencing, then some Posterior Tibial issues, and finished with some maintenance to stay healthy throughout the running/triathlon season. I finished the season strong, running better than I ever have, with many PRs and no injury re-occurrences all thanks to Cat and NY Custom PT's help along the way. I highly recommend their PT services!

Following the incident, the owner Wendy promptly reached out to address the situation. I have since visited them and used the antiG treadmill without any issues. Will be visiting them soon for their other services.

I've been working with Kathleen at Custom PT for several months now and have had a stellar experience. I originally presented with plantar fasciitis developed during marathon training. From the outset Kathleen gave me some great pointers to improve my gait and form and most importantly help me understand what's going on with my feet, tendons, muscles, hips etc. and what exacerbates problems. For me each PT session starts with stretching, targeted work on the issue at hand (thumbs up for Graston technique!), followed by excercise practice (progressing over time) and finally either heat/cold, recovery boots or taping. I feel I'm making real progress building strength and awareness which will hopefully help head off potential injuries in the future. Everyone at Custom PT is ridiculously friendly and helpful!

NY Custom PT is the premiere center for physical therapy for all runners in NYC. I came into this facility 4 weeks ago defeated and a broken man (okay fine, quadriceps tendonitis or should I say squeaky knees?). I was 2 months away from the marathon and running up to the 12th mile before my knees refused to cooperate with me. Luckily, I was under the care of Paul Nasri. In 3 weeks' time, my knees stopped clicking, the pain went away and I was back to running 18 miles again. Paul was with me every step of the way. He offered encouragement when I was down, pushed me to finish my exercises and helped me plan a new schedule to get back on track. He even put it all in Excel. As an accountant, Excel is always appreciated. I am literally standing here today because of him. The results speak for themselves. If you want to feel like million dollar man, I would definitely recommend Paul.

This place is gorgeous! The first time i went i joked that it was the four seasons of PT offices. I feel so lucky to get to go to such a high end, professional, quality place (but the team is like a family and the absolute best!). I have been going to Custom for about 8 months on and off. They have helped me tremendously with strength training, form Correction and injury rehabilitation. I work mainly with Kathleen but they're so accommodating and at times I've also worked with Greg and Cat and had wonderful experiences. They're such a supportive team and have always found ways to accommodate me if something comes up and I need to come in. I highly recommend Custom & their amazing run team Streets 101!

I highly recommend NY Custom PT to all my running friends. I went to them initially for a running evaluation, which was tremendously helpful. Since then, after changing my form my calves are no longer hurting (which they always have), and I'm running faster! I am a more efficient runner and my core is getting stronger. I also came in once I started getting a bit of knee pain while I was running. I was massaged and evaluated and took home some exercises to help alleviate my pain and make me stronger. These exercises were so helpful and I was able to run my last half marathon pain free! Their facility is very clean and the physical therapists are friendly and very professional. They specialize in sports, especially running, which is helpful for me because my last physical therapist was a generalist that didn't know the specifics of runners needs. I'm going to continue to come back to NY Custom PT for all my PT needs!

I highly recommend New York Custom PT. They have a great staff and a great facility. Cat is a great PT. She did my initial running analysis and I've worked with her for the last few months to rehab a running injury I've had for the past few years. We've worked a lot on form which has helped my running tremendously. I'm seeing the results of my work with her and my next step is to plan some race goals.

From start to finish, my experience with Custom was nothing but professional and full of good vibes. In addition to expert advice and care when I was in an appointment, Kathleen made an extraordinary effort to help me with everything outside of the appointment; from offering three options for new running shoes to address my issue and recommending and pulling strings for x-rays. She's a great person and Custom knows their stuff.

NY Custom PT is the absolute best. I have had knee injuries off and on for the past 5 years and I'm finally able to run regularly again now. I saw Wendy and she is phenomenal, as are all of the PTs there. They do everything - massage, graston, trigger point, stretching, strengthening, gait training, VO2 max testing, and I'm sure much more. They work on anything and everything that needs it (which, for me, was a lot after five years). By coming to Custom PT for a couple of months and doing my strengthening exercises (every day), I am so thrilled to be running again. I was starting to think I might never run again, but Wendy convinced me otherwise. When I finished up with Custom PT, they gave me an online training plan to keep up with my exercises and running after I left so I wouldn't re-injure myself, and I've found this helpful in keeping me on top of my exercises. NY Custom PT is filled with smart, talented, and delightful people. They are the best at what they do. I am extremely grateful (and so are my knees)!

I love this place. They have significantly helped me with my running form and also got me back from a running injury very strong. They are the only physical therapists that have actually inspired me to keep going. Definitely recommend. The location is awesome too - right by grand central.

I had a great experience at New York Custom Physical Therapy. I received a personalized runners evaluation in the lead up to my first marathon and gained a great deal of insight and advice on my running style, nutrition and exercises I should be doing. This has been a fantastic help.

The team at NY Custom PT is amazing. I have been going there since October 2016 after hearing about them through my run club, Mile High Run Club. The team is very professional and they are actionable -- if you do the work they tell you to do, then you'll see improvements. I had IT band issues right before the 2016 NYC Marathon and unfortunately had to pull out. They helped me make that decision and then helped create a game plan for a May 2017 marathon. I ended up doing a 23 min PR at that marathon (3:51:29). I'm thrilled with their service and will definitely continue to use them in the future. I also love the perks such as the recovery boots which are really helpful during marathon training.

I was EXTREMELY injured with a hip bursitis injury a month into my marathon training. Kathleen was amazing in the right strategy with a mixture of exercises, alter G running and easing back into running. I was able to complete the marathon because of Custom PT's help and I didn't even have any hip pain! They are also extremely accommodating as I had to change my PT time almost every week. I love it here!

There is really only one way to describe Sports Coach, Greg Laraia, and that is as the quintessential personal trainer's trainer! I found Greg after a running complication that has had physiatrists, podiatrists and physical therapists alike in a shared state of confusion over my reoccurring bouts of inflammation. I must state for the record that I came to Custom Performance by way of an outside PT. I am a veteran personal trainer and intended to have my running style evaluated and go on my merry way. Instead, I hit the jackpot of coaches; I literally didn't want the session to end. Besides receiving insights I could never have realized on my own, it was clear that my strength training program needed a complete overhaul. Over the past 9 months, I have achieved a knowledge of my body, and furthermore, a confidence in what my body can do, that until now I had only admired in others. There is a method in the community of fitness today where we are shown what we cannot do, perhaps in an effort to ignite inner competition with our weaknesses. Greg's method of teaching is based on his supreme confidence in seeing what he will create so that you begin with a non-anxiety attitude of "everything is as it should be". I have imagined Greg's patience, stamina, and abundant positivity is what makes him a runner who has the respect of the community. I also see how he uses these gifts and focuses them on me. The result 9 months later is nothing short of the greatest vacation I ever took. Besides the increase in power, I feel more grounded in this new symmetry, and happier in this new headspace he has helped me define. Greg is a treasure in this community. Born as much to coach, as he is to run!

I have been working with Cat for several weeks now and cannot recommend her and CustomPT highly enough. I had been going to another PT and had plateaued without really improving my badly sprained ankle. On the advice of my podiatrist, Dr Shastri, I switched to CustomPT. The exercises are imaginative, challenging, fun and are really helping.

The team at New York Custom PT are just plain great--super friendly, amazing at their work and very, very positive! Cat is always available for questions and just recently helped me set a target goal as I recover from Injury. The team there works hard to create a sense of community and to that end, supports the larger running and sports community throughout NYC. I highly recommend them for anyone that needs top notch PT.

NY Custom PT & Performance is FANTASTIC! I strongly recommend going there for any physical (and mental!) therapy, or just for simple recovery tools or for running analyses. They are extremely knowledgeable, friendly and well-resourced (e.g., plenty of staff, clothes for you to change into, towels, lots of equipment, etc.). The facility is very clean and they also have lots of healthy snacks. They offer a wide variety of services on top of working with a physical therapist, such as acupuncture, massages, and boot compression, and also has many running specific tests such as VO2 Max and gait analysis. The people are great, and I always look forward to going there (in fact, I always try to find an excuse to drop by). Great experience all around!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about NY Custom PT & Performance Center. I came here shortly before I was supposed to start training for my first full marathon with a foot injury late 2015. I worked with Cat, who has been so helpful explaining the injury and why I should be doing certain exercises, and examined how I was running and what could have caused the injury while making corrections/adjustments to my form. I was able to train and work on my recovery at the same time (other places that do not specialize with runners had a very different opinion- not running was not an option for me at that time). If it was not for Custom PT I would not have made it through that first marathon. I have continued to use Custom PT as I started training for my second marathon (new unrelated injury). The facilities are bright and clean- everyone who works there is super nice and helpful. I tell everyone I can about this place- runners and non runners who need physical therapy should go to NY Custom PT & Performance Center!
