I stopped in for breakfast randomly because I had to wait for a customer down the block. The staff were very friendly , mostly locals in the old school diner . The food was good , just got some eggs, bacon and home fries. I tried the chocolate chip pancakes and they were very good. Would recommend and definitely go back if In the area.

Cozy diner buzzing with customers when we arrived, but we snagged a table for two since the food came out fast. Breakfast was outstanding, especially the perfectly seasoned home potatoes. Reasonable pricing and great service.

Stopped in for breakfast with the wife on the way to Greenport on a late Tuesday morning.Thought it might be a bit before we received our meal as the place was hopping. Boy was I wrong.The wait wasn’t long at all! Great service & Good food! If you are headed out to the end on the NOFO,and are looking for a place to stop and grab a bite to eat,This is the place. A+

Super cute diner. Luckily got the last table when we walked in. Food didn't take too long even though the place was packed. The home fries were delicious. I got breakfast but did see several people getting burgers and they were gigantic. I would definitely recommend this place. If I lived here I would frequent it.

This was a nice small town diner with a traditional menu, and possibly short staffed. I was taking a few days out of town and wanted to grab a quick breakfast at the diner. I'll just say it was good food and a reasonable price, the service was decent, and the bathroom was clean. While I was eating I was joined by a ant or two on my creamer, wasn't a big deal, but still it was ants.

Classic diner with all the classic options. The place is always busy but they always have some space to squeeze you in. The building is gorgeous having been landmarked by Southold Township some years ago. I highly recommend the grilled cheese with tomato.

What a perfect original diner! As soon as you walk in the door, you can see why the Cutchogue Diner is a Landmark for the town. The food is perfectly done, the portions are right, the staff is excellent... go and enjoy a wonderful dining experience!

The food is Excellent and the Service is Excellent excellent And the atmosphere is genuine 1950's perfect. Needed to sit down for a while with a great breakfast and Tea and coffee undisturbed and catch up with a friend!

I was sick for a week after eating there. I had food poisoning that caused me to have diarrhea for better than 5 days. My system is still not settled yet and it has been 2 weeks tomorrow. Clean up your surfaces and check the age of your products. Clean the fuse box surface there is some black substance on it. Check the cleanliness of your ice machine. Give the place a washing from stem to stern. And my burger was dry for a rare cooked burger. Other than that you are quaint

This is an update. Cutchouge Diner is the bomb. I have been coming here for decades and nothing has changed including the quality of the food and the friendly service. It is a must-stop when I get back into town and they have the best link sausages I have ever eaten. Stop here enough mornings and there will be somebody who knows your name. Avail yourself of a bit of nostalgia of eating in an old-fashioned American diner while they still exist.

A throwback. A typical diner, nothing fancy but good food. I had a meatloaf sandwich and my wife had a tuna fish sandwich. Good service with a smile.

A great diner spot, very classic and vintage reminding you of the way that old school 50's boxcar style was like. Place was super busy when I walked in, so I got a seat at the counter, which had plenty of stools available. Had a standard breakfast, good spinach/veggie omelette, fresh coffee, water refills, jams and jellies for your toast. A great breakfast really. 5 stars. Enjoyed this place. The classic diner experience.

Nice quaint diner. Delicious food, friendly mom and pop service, and great ambience! The coffee was extra delicious! Homemade pie for dessert also delicious! Bought a T-shirt for my son who treated his mom. Highly recommended.

This has, for decades, been the stopping off point when we are headed to take the Ferry to Connecticut at Orient Point. It is one of only a few train car diners on the island, and the only one I know of in Suffolk County. Moer to the point, the food never disappoints - good wholesome stick to the ribs comfort food. On our latest visit, I had a turkey dinner with all the trimmings/ It was all great, but the potatoes and stuffing were absolutely to die for. Service is always pleasant and efficient. May they keep going for decades more like this.

My husband and I pass here all the time back and forth to the ferry. He has said for years he wanted to stop here. So we did. The place is very small in the front but there is a back with tables. The tables are pretty much on top of one another. The man behind me kept moving his chair and banged into me each time. The table we sat at rocked every time we used a knife. The decor needs a much needed facelift. It's a very old diner, but come on! Clean it up a bit. The food was ok, nothing special but not bad. The eggs were cooked over easy, as ordered. The home fries were delicious. The kielbasa was just ok. Their French toast is made with thin bread or it's flatten down while cooking it. It was thin but good. The sausage was a big link and ok. We would not return here.

I did not have a chance to eat here. I stopped in to see if they were open and was told they were closing at 3 and we would have to be quick. It was 2:33. I said we were just having sandwiches and there would be three of us. When the server glanced around I said my handicapped mother would be in soon. She looked out and saw my mother coming with her walker and said by the time she gets in here there just won't be any time, with an "ugh" to boot. I was ushered out the door. There will never be a review from me as I will never eat here. I have run restaurants my whole adult life and I would never treat a handicapped person in that manner. My mother almost burst into tears.

Closes by 3pm! This diner is classic. Friendly and kind waitresses. Portions are not overwhelming large. Just right.

First and last. We ordered meatloaf and it was tasteless and served with an overcook broccoli. How are they not ashamed to serve a plate with a yellow broccoli to their clients? Shame of them.

A top, local favorite! Always fresh, always timely, and always a pleasant experience. It is also nice that the owner is on hand and present during business hours.

I haven't been here in years, man what have I been missing? I picked a nice, sunny & most importantly of all quiet late Wednesday morning to enjoy this landmark diner in the center of the north fork. Needless to say I enjoyed the whole experience as much as my breakfast it self. If you haven't seen this establishment it is an old school silver stream style diner. Check it out, you won't be disappointed.

I give it a five because it has good home made food. It is Not one of those 200 items on the menu diner. Built in 1941, you will step back in time. Great coffee. I had pancakes that were light and perfect. Place hasn't changed in the decades I have been coming. Formica tables. Waitress very friendly and attentive. I love coming here during the week Roads too crowded on weekends now until November.

Wow! Just wow! An unforgettable diner experience, the Cutchogue Diner has a peaceful atmosphere, excellent service, and superb food. I was promised "the best bacon", and they delivered! My new favorite spot on the North Fork. If you're thinking of anywhere else for breakfast, you're making a mistake; come here instead! Highly recommend the Chili Cheddar Omelet!

Very cute little place. It is an official historic site and definitely has that authentic diner feel! We arrived during a busy Sunday lunch rush and were lucky to get a table. They also have seating at the counter with very cool old stools. We seated ourselves and had to wait about 5 minutes before having our drink order taken. They were very busy though, so we didn't mind. Both waitresses were pleasant in an old diner way. We had the turkey dinner and grilled cheese. Grilled cheese was tasty. The turkey dinner was good as well, although it would have been nice to have fresh vegetables (they were either canned or frozen, mixed veggies). I believe the stuffing and mashed potatoes were homemade, but the cranberry sauce was canned. There was a good portion of turkey and gravy. Overall a very filling meal!

Perhaps my favorite diner for breakfast or lunch. Everything is delicious. The servers are very friendly. Prices very reasonable. My wife and I often make a trip here for breakfast and local stops. Well worth the 45 minute drive. The potatoes are delicious, egg dishes, fresh kielbasa, homemade muffins... Getting hungry writing this. Anyway, stop there, it's great.

RUDEST SERVICE in all my 45 years! I would give zero stars if I could. I walked in at 11am today and the diner was crowded. The two waitresses behind the counter ignored me for 5 minutes as I stood waiting patiently. Finally, when my son walked in after parking, I asked for a table. The lady barely responded and barked that there was a table in the corner by the bathroom . I asked if I could wait for another table that was empty but not cleared off yet. She became irritated and insisted that I take the table by the bathroom. The angry face on the waitress and her rude tone was too much. We left.

Stopped by from out of town with extended family in early August. Classic diner car with booth, table or bar seating. It was very clean and retro in appearance. Classic diner food with breakfast, burgers, sandwiches, etc. Nothing exciting or special. I did request my burger to be medium and it came out medium-well plus. The plate also came with fries and a small cup of coleslaw (which was yummy). The waitress was efficient and kind. She refilled our drinks once and worked in a clean fashion. Bathrooms are located in the back, and they are a bit more roomy than other retro diners.

Solid diner food. Friendly service. Eggs any way you like 'em. These are the basic elements of any good diner (in my book) and The Cutchogue certainly fulfills these requirements. We stopped in here on our way back to the airport in Islip, looking for delicious fuel for our travels ahead. Thankfully, the diner provided us with just what we were looking for. I chowed down on a breakfast sandwich that was totally satisfying and tasty; egg and cheese on a fluffy roll. Delicious and completely filling. Home fries accompanied my sammie and they were seasoned well and added a great flavorful aspect to my order. The bf is an oatmeal fan, so he ordered the instant oatmeal (the waitress made a point of telling us it was instant when we ordered- props to her for that!) with a side of home fries. Thankfully he loved the home fries, because the oatmeal just wasn't too appetizing. Honestly, with instant oatmeal the expectations can't really be too high, so I wouldn't really recommend it unless you cant eat eggs or pancakes, As others have mentioned, the diner is truly an old mobile home made into a restaurant, with additions created to accommodate additional patrons and the kitchen. It's super casual and welcoming. Parking's available in the back lot, so it's not difficult to abandon the vehicle for an hour or so. If you're in the area and looking for standard American breakfast, then give this place a shot. The bfast Sammie just may surprise you.

Welcome back to the 1950s! No, this isn't a themed diner, but rather it's still a chrome-plated teensy tiny diner in an airstream! Very cool greasy spoon, but the quarters are a little tight. And parking is a nightmare on the main drag in Cutchogue. It's fun for a one-time visit.

We're taking it back a few decades... welcome to north fork long island, circa 1950s. Farms, hicks and wide open land Huzzah! Cut-cha-geew diner reminds you of this and stays true to its roots. The decor is traditional and most likely original, minus a few upgrades like the seats and such. You can see they tried to match it all up. Me and two very good friends stopped in here for a bite before wine tasting for the day. It was sweet, the service was personal, fast and smiling. The food was A-OK (thanks yelp for the expression), your typical diner fare. The place is tiny and there isn't much parking but it's worth the nostalgia trip. I'll be stopping in again, im sure :)

I've eaten at quite a few diners in my time, having been a teenager in New York City suburbs, and I had a good diner time at the Cutchogue Diner. The waitress was friendly. The menu was simple but had all of the requisite diner dishes. The food came quickly and tasted just fine (I had a very filled ham and cheddar omelet accompanied by curly French fries). The sodas came with free refills, of which we got three, without having to ask! I also liked that as I ate my food, "The Cutchogue Diner" slowly revealed itself on their personalized plates. It was a nice touch. When I visit my friends in the spring and summer for wine tastings and beach fun, I will definitely make a point of coming back here.

I stumbled on the Cutchogue Diner on my way into the North Fork touring wineries. What a great, truly local experience. I enjoyed a meatloaf sandwich (as listed on the Specials board, and on the advice of the server who said it was "good today"), and would have loved some dessert had the sandwich not been so filling! The pie list was simply classic. It's the kind of "local flavor" place I crave when traveling, and I'd easily go back were I in the area again.

Great old style ny diner! Don't expect classy meals, but do expect nice friendly service, and the usual diner food. Top quality, and you have to get a shake while your there!! It is a great stop if your heading to the Orient pt ferry to New England, or through wine country. The diner is sure to please. I would reccomend traveling to this diner, either in the fall while the trees are changing, rt 25 is beautiful that time of year, or the spring/summer as the sights are nice, but beware of traffic in the nice weather.

This is the best diner I have ever been to. My girlfriend and I try to come out here as often as possible. Whether we get breakfast, an omelette(kielbasa omelette is amazing), pancakes, or hash... Or if we get a gyro, meatloaf sandwich, or burger, there food is always amazingly perfect every time. Even there coffee is great. It's worth the 30 minute drive every time. Some of the best service I have ever had, great small town diner feel... You won't feel like a stranger when you eat there.

This is not good, My business partner and I were out east and saw this old style box car diner and thought it would be cool to stop in for lunch. It was around 12;30 and we were the only people there. We ordered 2 burgers deluxe and within minutes the place had a very strong smell of bacon. I think they turned on the grill and the remnants of breakfast was still on the grill. Needless to say we ate the food, and it was ok nothing great and the small burger is placed upon a very large kaiser roll (the burger was lost). Glasses for drinks were plastic and looked kind of dirty or just old. A few hours later we were running to the bathroom. The grill needs to be cleaned before the two services(breakfast and lunch) too much grease left over from previous service. Will not be returning any time soon.

this place receives 4 stars because as Yelp would say, "Yay! I'm a fan." And that I definiately am...this is my usual spot with my north fork wine tasting buddies as we're heading out east to be on "all day liquid diets" enjoying lovely livations from Strong Island's north fork. This diner was built in 1940... Since calories and carbs aren't my friend, I typically will spring for an egg sandwhich on whole wheat or omelettes and this place will never disappoint in either category. I'm definitely the typical french froo froo foodie but don't mind kicking it back to ca.1947 in this really old style themed diner....it's got quite the charm! Red is my fav color as most of my friends know, the entire interior decor is classic red/white diner decor...love it! great pancake specials and waffle specials, but as I mentioned earlier, my metabolism sucks and calories/carbs aren't my friend so i typically have to order more healthier items :) the ladies with me however, can afford ordering these really yummy treats and they love them everytime! just a warning though...this place is quite popular and is small on the inside so finding a seat may be difficult :) go in with expectations of it being a diner and you won't be disappointed... FYI - THE GOOGLE MAP ARROW IS INCORRECT, THIS IS ON MAIN ROAD (THE MAIN STRIP IN DOWNTOWN CUTCHOGUE VILLAGE) :)

I live in Cutchogue and I've been coming here my whole life. As someone else mentioned "the diner" (as we call it) is an authentic mobile car with an addition extending it in the back. Theoretically, it could be attached to a truck and rolled away, in which case I, and many others, would be forced to form a caravan behind it. I have a lot of memories here but I won't go into all that. Let's focus on the rating criteria. It's a very casual, cozy place on the old country, "downtown" Cutchogue strip on the Main Road. It is elevated with windows running along the front which makes for great people and car watching and sunshine. The staff are warm, welcoming, accommodating and very local. The food is good and the old school milkshakes are to die for. As demonstrated by their restaurant in Dumbo, the owners are completely capable of serving a more gourmet menu. That is simply not their vision of a landmark (seriously) diner down the street from the Amish furniture shop, the Cutchogue Library and Wickham's Fruit Farm. They are keeping it real, authentic and delicious but focused on the overall experience, not just the food quality. Woop!

I have serious nostalgia from going here throughout my childhood. I love the servers and the furniture and the menu with the classics always there. This place has heart and has shaped my understanding of comfort food. There's nothing like it out there. Hope it lasts for many more years!

Love this place. Family run diner with a classic feel inside & out. Good service and they have great local pies. The place fills up from noon to 1pm so if you're more than 2 people call right before you head over to make sure there's space. Well worth it.

Good old fashioned American diner food. If your hitting the wineries on the North Fork, this is a great place for breakfast or lunch. History with good food.

Passed by this little place so many times in our travels. Finally stopped for breakfast and were pleasantly surprised. Great menu. Delicious fresh food and speedy friendly service! Debbie is so sweet. We will be back for lunch next time as they put up the specials up while there and my husband saw they have an old fashioned Reuben!

i love the concept of diners but am always wary that the food is bad. we were checking out north fork one winter morning and drove by cutchogue diner past our lunchtime and decided to pull over. of course looking at menu, i want everything and then saw the specials board and got chix potpie. the guy got fried chix in a basket. both were great as i'm sure everything else is excellent, for a diner. the place really started filling up as we were eating. very friendly workers too! place closes at 3pm. i heard other patrons who couldn't decide on what pancakes to get that ended up ordering 1 banana, 1 choco chip, 1 apple. someone else wanted one egg sunnyside up, one scrambled. it's cool that they let you order whatever you want--never would happen in the city! be sure to grab a blueberry cream pie at briermere farm (in riverhead) on they way back to NYC.
