This is such an amazing location. First of all, I love that it’s in Tribeca! So close to my job! It’s new, clean and super hip. I first heard about Cutler through my stylist Emil. He was looking for a new space to explore new experiences and I was immediately excited about the idea. There is so much to love about this place. What I I appreciate the most is the washing station. They have these amazing seats that are almost like beds. You never have to worry about that “heavy head feeling” while getting your hair washed. It’s the little things that matter when you get your hair washed more than 3 times during 1 session. I can’t say enough about Emil, he’s just the most thoughtful and caring stylist I have ever met. They are rare, especially in NYC. During my recent appointment with Emil I was worried about dying my hair because I’m expecting a baby this time around. It has been so stressful to have bleached hair and have my doctor tell me that I have to stay away from my best friend (bleach) for a while. So I decided to take a hair therapy session with Emil and share my concerns. Emil knew just the right things to say and promised me that he would be super careful. He suggested partial highlights (with the least amount of bleach) and a toner. I was feeling very self-conscious about my hair and I just wanted to feel like myself again. Well I ’m back baby! I feel amazing! It was a very subtle update yet it made such a huge difference. Thank you Emil!! I just arrived in NY and didn’t know where to go to get my hair nicely done. I wish I remembered the name of the girl who worked on my hair because she did an amazing job. I was very worried because I was going for some highlights on dark hair, but she did a really good job, the end result looked so natural. Both girls that took care of me were really friendly, it was a great time and a great job.

Kiyo did a phenomenal job with my hair. He is so patient, thorough, and gave me exactly what I wanted. I’m a bit of a perfectionist so to have a hairdresser who takes his time and cuts really well is hard to find these days. Thank you much :)

I love this new location. It is bright and hip and very convenient for me. I have been seeing Gaby B. for my color for over four years. She is an excellent hair artist and truly know how to make me look my best (See @brushupnyc). I would follow her anywhere and its a great perk that this new spot at the Arlo is awesome!

So happy Cutler has this location downtown now. Being a Battery Park City and Financial District resident for many years, other than Cutler Soho, there aren’t many options. The best part is Gabby, ”the Goddess of Highlights” is here on Wednesday’s so I was able to walk to her and back home today to get highlights without battling the horrors of TrumpTown on 5th Ave. Gabby has been doing my highlights for over a decade and I would never go to anyone else. She takes her perfectionism to a degree I’ve never seen before. I see so many highlights on celebrities and I wonder how that can happen - but I know how - before Gabby I went to so-called celebrity colorists who made my hair brassy and uneven. Gabby is the best thing that ever happened to my hair - the color is perfect and my hair is super healthy. Bonus: She’s just a great person to be around. Win/win!

Complete professionals with the exception of the woman at the front desk (1.23) She was rude and unwiling to help with anything, including help in tipping through Venmo where she insisted everyone was listed when they were not. No hello. No goodbye. No nothing. Get past her and you are in good hands.

Had my hair cut by Andrew Daum Chung at Cutler. As a working actor and print model, how my hair looks is important and Andrew delivers! Met him at a photo shoot for a major magazine, was impressed with his professionalism and attention to detail even when dealing with a lot of us guys on the set. He really thinks about how my hair behaves and works to get a great look. The cozy space at Cutler at the Arlo is bright, comfortable and everyone there is nice!

Emil at Cutler is my go-to hair stylist for cut and color and I always leave super happy. I like to switch my hair up a lot and he always performs his magic. I've had purple, pink and platinum blonde hair. He is also so much fun to talk to so you leave inspired every time! The salon is very clean and beautiful and the staff is super friendly and professional.

My new favorite salon! I got my hair colored and highlighted beautifully by Chezney and a super cute hair cut/trim afterward by Assunta. Both are exceptional at what they do with a graceful touch and personable too. Easy, smart booking as well. Great salon overall!

The most cool and chill place in TriBeCa. Staff is amazing! Emil was the one in charge of my hair and damn he did a great job! Knew exactly what I wanted and did it so precise. I recommend this place any time! It's my place to go now!

I went and saw Cami for my hair cut and color and she did exactly what I showed her I wanted. She is so talented (trained by one of the top hair colorist in NYC!) and she is so sweet to boot. I highly recommend going to her and can't wait to go back for more!

First, let me start off by saying that it is rare that I will get what I want when it comes to a haircut. Not to get technical, but I feel like most people don't really assess my hair texture, face shape, and the way my hair naturally lays, which I believe are pretty essential to a good cut. I got a cut with Andrew (AC) and he is ON POINT when it comes to all of this. He took the time to really understand my look, what I am going for, my hair type, etc and gave me his professional opinion and a variety of options to go with. I am SO happy with my hair, I love it SOOO much! I got so many compliments on my cut, the way it perfectly frames my face, AND he even made it seem more volumous! He is so seasoned in his craft and knows exactly what he is doing! The only person I will go to from now on to get my hair done.

I don't really review much on Yelp but wanted to take the time to write my thoughts on Cutler (Arlo hotel location). First, I'm an asian dude, and my hair is essentially long and straight and difficult to manage in a way that I want. Secondly, I am a native New Yorker and have lived in Manhattan my whole life, which means I have certainly had the time to rove from barber to stylist to barber to stylist and what not across 3 different boroughs (Staten Island and the Bronx are too far). I became Emil's client a little under 3 years ago. For me-when it comes to hair-that is a long time. I actually first became his client at another salon, and followed him over to Cutler when he moved. I can essentially boil it down to this...Emil "gets" my hair in a way that no one else has been able to grasp before. The first time I went to see him (which was by pure luck...I didn't know any of the stylists and just popped in on my way home desperately needing a haircut) he immediately comprehended the issue I was facing (beyond my hair simply being "too long" as many other stylists have inanely mentioned) and actually laid out a strategy and plan of how to manage my hair. WTH? Strategy and plan? I had never heard those words before with regards to my hair and I was damn sold on that approach. To sum up, when I see Emil I'm at ease that he knows how to handle my hair and correct, shape, manage, etc. whatever happens to be going on with it as soon as I walk in. His massages when he washes your hair are also killer.

High cost for a mediocre hair cut. I was Looking for a big change to my long hair so I went here thinking I would get a quality cut. I waited 30 minutes past my appointment for Jenny, and while she was working on me she left the salon twice then started working on another client halfway through my appointment. I showed her a photo of the length I wanted and she cut an additonal 5" off my hair. $160 for a cut I didn't want. Not what I would expect from a highly rated salon.

This was a very good salon I really recommend going to the Best hair Cutter there was Greg Greg gives exactly what you want and he just exactly how you say show him a picture andHe will it exactly like the pictureI really recommend going here and it is the best salon the world

WOW! What an amazing experience, I never write reviews but I had to after going to Cutler and getting my haircut by Emil. This guy has it all, he listen to what I wanted and have me a great cut! This guy is 100% real deal. I will continue to go here for a long time.

Andrew Chung is great. I have been cutting my hair only with him for 4 years. The layers are incredible and I get tons of compliments on the cut always (shape, layers, etc.)

I'm new to Cutler Salon. Recently started coming here because they hired a great stylist named Emil. Smart move. Emil is the best. Super skilled, and he listens to what look you want, considers how to apply that look to your specific hair type, and then takes his time to execute that vision. Never rushed like at many places. As a guy who for a long time had a hard time finding a place to get a consistent cut, happy to say the search is over. Give Emil a shot - you won't be sorry.
