The food here was great. We shared the bread basket starter; this was good, although I would expect the butter not to be those little pats one might associate with hotel breakfasts. I had the roast lamb special whilst my dining partner had fish and chips, and we both enjoyed our food thoroughly - the portions were huge, and neither of us managed to finish. We did have desserts, which were definitely homemade - the sticky toffee pudding was so fluffy and light, and is the best sticky toffee pudding I've had anywhere. We finished with tea.
What lets Cuttlefish down is the service. I tried to book in two different ways - through the contact form on the website, and through the Fork app, which is what Google recommends. Neither of my reservations were confirmed. Nevertheless, when we arrived, the restaurant was empty, so we were promptly seated. About halfway through our service, the waitress took her break and was replaced by a waiter, and we had to call him over each time we needed him rather than him coming over. As a result, we were actually in the restaurant for two and a half hours.
Overall, the food was excellent, the price was good relative to the quality and portion size, and the service was okay. Would recommend.
