Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad, Akron

The dome car was great! Fantastic views! They should have adult only cars though. Crying, whining kids really ruined the peaceful ride today. It’s also better to get seats on the western side of the train for better national park views. It’s very close quarters too. Wish we had bought all 4 tickets at our table instead of sharing our space with strangers.

If you get there a half hour early like suggested the wait to get on isn't very long. It's a soothing scenic ride with good views of the area. The dome car is a great viewing area.

It was a nice experience. Train crew were so caring and nice. I felt dome was little small than I expected and seats were too tight. Cleanliness could be improved. The whole journey path didn't have much exciting views which I can call scenic. But overall it was good.

Wonderful little trip. The ride was comfortable, the staff are knowledgeable and the concession prices are out of this world expensive, LOL! There were 8 of us on the train, all family members who hadn’t seen each other in a significant amount of time so the train ride was great way to get everyone together. We didn’t really engage much in the scenery, as we were all too preoccupied with one another. Lovely afternoon ! I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the restrooms on the train. Hilariously small area similar to an airplane toilet but very functional and very much appreciated. In the 2 hours on the train, I think most of us had to use the facilities and glad we didn’t have to hold it in until we got back to the station. Haha. Also, they were very clean !! Thanks!

The volunteer trainman talked the entire ride, he was friendly and knowledgeable but it made it hard to relax and enjoy the views. I couldn't have a conversation with my friend sitting across from me, he was talking so loudly.

Also fun to find a train ride. The scenic ones are normally the best. The staff are all volunteers and are super friendly. The snack bar was the second stop after the bathrooms when boarding. Super clean restrooms. Coming from IN to do some other things between Columbus and Cleveland we were able to fit this in this afternoon.

Definitely an experience to remember. Tickets for all 4 in the most basic car were nearly $100. I was very surprised at how completely empty other cars and even ours was. Our car was kinda smelly like old... the car was clean just smelled old and musty. The other cars we walked through didn't smell as bad as ours. It was an enjoyable ride overall. We made our way up to the concession car and got some popcorn and snacks. Not too many fall leaves early October but still good views and it was fun waving to cars and people along the trails. Masks are 'mandatory' but not strictly enforced which was good because we were clearly distant from other riders. It would be easy to take some light snacks and beverages even though it's 'prohibited'. Really just all about the experience and a good experience overall. Made for a great afternoon day.

I took my daughter here for her birthday because neither one of us have ever been on a train ride and I thought it would be something special. I was unfortunately wrong. It was supposed to be a 2 hour train ride scenic views etc the only good scenery was right at the beginning of the train ride and the rest of it was woods and stops to pick up pedestrians sat in the lounge was supposed to have a guided tour as we went through and their comms were broke somebody forgot to charge it so we found out no history, like I thought we would and expected.
