This modern ryokan brings the traditional ryokan experience into our time. The rooms are spacious (for Tokyo), very clean and very beautiful. You are greeted with a nice drink and snack as is customary and then you may move in. I reallz liked the rooftop onsen. It was a windy day, the Tokyo skytree was lit up in Sakura colors and the water was hot. Perfect! ||We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come again.

This ryokan was hands down the best part of my Japan trip. The service was incredible — we were greeted with tea, cloths, and red bean snack, with an explanation of this ryokan history and more. Mizuki led us through this and she was so kind and incredible! Our group had to leave early in the morning before they provide the complementary breakfast, so they prepared for us different bread pastries which was not necessary but shows the over the top incredible service. The onsen experience was great too with a beautiful view. The rooms were also amazing with comfortable beds and beautiful ambiance. I would choose to come here every single time — I had the best experience ever!!!!!!!

On previous trips to Japan we have stayed in hotels in Ginza. Having stayed in a ryokan in other parts of Japan, we wanted to experience this style of accommodation in Tokyo. This ryokan exceeded our expectations. Great location in Asakusa, an excellent area to base yourself in with many little restaurants and a very local feeling. The accommodation itself was so comfortable and really gave us an insight into the thoughtful Japanese philosophies around functionality, minimalism and everything having its place. Rooms were small but this is pretty standard in Tokyo I’ve found. The highlight for us was the staff who were incredibly friendly and helpful, and the Japanese breakfast which was amazing. We stayed for 2 nights and loved it.

Unfortunately, my experience with this Cyashitsu Ryokan Asakusa was disappointing. Despite booking well in advance (November 2024), my reservation was automatically cancelled (April 2025) due to an alleged issue with credit card pre-authorization—without any prior contact or opportunity to resolve the payment issue. I did not receive any notification that would have allowed me to update my card details or clarify the situation.||This approach does not reflect a partnership with the guest and raises concerns about the fairness of their practices. It gives the impression that the hotel can claim a payment problem at any time in order to cancel a reservation and force the guest to rebook at a much higher rate. Such actions create unnecessary suspicion and discourage trust in the property.||I would strongly suggest that, in the future, the hotel allows guests the opportunity to re-authorize or update their card details before cancelling a reservation. This would be a much more honest and transparent approach, fostering trust and a positive relationship with guests.||As a result of this experience, I was forced to book my stay elsewhere, hoping for a more professional and customer-friendly approach.

Loved my 2 night stay at Cyashitsu Ryokan Asakusa! Though the private hot bath, private breakfast, and overall aesthetic were amazing! Yuki, Taiga, Yoko, and Tadashi were amazing hosts/staff making me comfortable, excited, and welcomed each time I went back to the ryokan from a busy day out - they made the experience very wholesome and memorable! Cyashitsu Ryokan Asakusa was an enjoyable stay. The room was a traditional bedroom with a modern bathroom. It was large and comfortable. We requested and enjoyed Japanese breakfasts (with very good coffee). We also enjoyed daily use of their soaking bath. It is in a great location, near the Sensō-ji temple and the Asakusa subway station. We highly recommend this Ryokan!

Cyashitsu feels like a second home! Upon arrival, we were treated to a cup of fresh tea and dessert while the staff shared more about the area and the Ryokan itself. ||The area felt residential and was a short walk to many restaurants and historical sites. ||The rooms are small, but well designed, clean, and comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed breakfast every morning and highly recommend taking advantage of the traditional Japanese spread. ||Make sure to book the outdoor bath in advance! It was extremely relaxing and has great views of the city. We would definitely stay here again!

Very comfortable ryokan in a convenient spot. Service was impeccable. The room was well equipped and cosy but not small. I had half board - dinner was great, and I recommend this option. My only wish is breakfast could start a little earlier than 8 a.m.
