Great cycling experience, even in the winter! Steve is very knowledgeable and rides at a comfortable pace, sharing interesting facts throughout the tour. I’d highly recommend this even if you’re from Vancouver — you get to see the city’s beautiful areas, but also some of its darker sides, which I think is important since it’s all part of the city’s story.

My family of three took The Grand Tour bike tour of Vancouver. Our guide was ZACK and it was a GREAT experience. Zack shared his deep knowledge of the city’s history, architecture, natural beauty (with a tremendous ride through Stanley Park), and cultural diversity. His special attention to the importance of indigenous peoples and their contribution to Vancouver’s story made the experience extraordinary! Without a doubt, this was one of the best urban bicycle tours that our family has ever experienced. FULL FIVE STARS! ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We rented bikes from Cycle City to tour ourselves around Stanley Park and the many trails of Vancouver. Excellent bikes & staff- so helpful, provided maps, answered any questions, and were on call in case you needed anything. Bikes were an excellent way to get around the city and see the many sights! Would recommend!

We've had a great 5 hour tour with our guide Heidi! Easy bike ride through Vancouver. The best way to see the most of the city in a short time. Enough stops where she told us a lot about the places of interest. A must do for everyone.

I recently did the 18 km Cycle City Vancouver bike tour and it was an absolutely amazing experience! The route was scenic, well-paced, and filled with fun facts and local gems that I would’ve never discovered on my own. A huge shoutout to our guide, Blair, who made the tour not just great—but above amazing! Blair was friendly, knowledgeable, and had a great sense of humor. They really brought the city to life with engaging stories and helpful tips along the way. We had a brilliant ride around Vancouver with cycle city tours. We had around 24 hours in the city and wanted to ensure that we saw as much as possible and this tour helped us do just that. Zack was a fantastic guide. Giving us lots of information at each stop, answered questions well, showing that he had a level of knowledge beyond what he was sharing, which I liked as it felt like he hadn’t just learned to recite the tour. He also gave guidance and instructions before each segment, ensuring that we were safe and knew what we were doing.

I did the 5 hour grand tour yesterday with Emily as the tour guide - she was great and incredibly knowledgeable. I learned so much! The bike itself was perfect (I realised some of the deficiencies of my own commuter bike…!) and we stopped at so many interesting locations. Highly recommend if you want an informative tour of the city. I would have loved a little more time to take photos at each location (and en route), but that’s because Vancouver is such a picturesque city and we were blessed with fabulous weather. Highly recommend!

Great location in downtown Vancouver. The rental process was straightforward and the staff were very helpful. They were thorough and patient in showing us newbies how to operate the e-bikes. Awesome bicycle tour of Stanley Park! I had an amazing 3+ hour bicycle tour with Zack around Stanley Park. As a history major and as a Vancouver native, his knowledge of the park's history, plants, trees, animals and the indigenous people was vast and interesting. Everyone in our group was engaged and appreciative of all the sights and sounds during our tour. There were even people not on our bike tour who listened in on what Zack had to say. The bikes were outfitted with a pouch to carry wallets, keys, phones, and small cameras and or binoculars. There's also a cage for water bottles. We often stopped to see notable landmarks, sculptures, and monuments. For the nature enthusiasts, Zack showed us blue heron nests, Beaver Lake and forest. Everyone enjoyed learning about the various trees (we even spotted a woodpeckers!) I highly recommend this company for a bike tour of Stanley Park!

Why 5 stars? Because it's hard to imagine a better way to see Vancouver. --- --- --- We were only in Vancouver for about 36 hours, so we thought a bike tour would really maximize our ability to see the city. And we're so happy we chose this bike tour because it was great, all around. Daniel was our guide and he did an amazing job. He was educational, funny and really came across as a true expert of the city. We took the 5-hour tour and paid a bit extra to get e-bikes so those uphill climbs were a little easier. Yes, I felt like I was cheating a bit, but I also didn't really feel like pushing myself while on vacation. Everyone we interacted with at the shop was great, too. We booked the trip through Fat Tire tours. So far, every Fat Tire affiliated tour we've ever done has been great, and this was no exception. I can't recommend this enough for anyone visiting Vancouver!

Our tour guide Zack has a history degree and was knowledgeable and interesting and friendly! The tour was so fun with safe bike lanes and frequent stops. The ebikes had 3 settings so you can get a workout if you want low assist. We got to see Vancouver in 4 hours and 14 miles of biking. It was the highlight of our vacation. Thanks, Zack!

Quality and selection of bikes was great. Not great was waiting an hour to pick up a bike I had reserved and paid for at set start time, with staff unable to find registration forms I'd submitted electronically. I then had a repeat performance when I returned the bike when I waited for them to find the forms and void the credit card charge after the ride. Not having a streamlined process for prepaid, pre booked registrations was absurd. I rod for two hours but spent more than an hour picking up and dropping off the bike. Truly disappointing. It might be worth it for a weekend or multi day rental but otherwise don't subject yourself to the administrative bureaucracy.

Had a great ride up to Seymour dam. The team were super helpful on all aspects including the navigation of the ride. Bike was solid and came with tools, helmet and lock and was super smooth. Don't let the half day hire scare you into thinking you have to ride between 12 and 5, picked it up at 5 and gave her back at 830pm, received with a smile. Good value for money!

My sister & I rented bikes from Cycle City for a half-day (5 hours) to explore Vancouver on our own. We reserved the bikes online about a week before our trip and received 10% off. The bikes were ready right at the time we had requested and helmets/baskets/bikes locks were all provided at no additional charge. I will mention, however, that the bikes we reserved online (city touring step-through bikes) were not the bikes we received when we checked-in (city touring roadster). This wasn't a big deal for us, though. All staff we interacted with were friendly and knowledgeable. City Cycle was reasonably priced (and less expensive than some of the other bike rentals in the area). It's located in the Gastown area near a lot of hotels & centrally located to many bike-able sight-seeing. Absolutely recommend!

Great service- friendly staff reasonably priced. Rented 4 bikes for half a day complete with helmets and locks. Vivienne explained how the bikes and locks worked as well as provided a map with key places to see. Will return and rent again. Recommend highly

We had excellent service from start to finish. Lloyd got us going and gave us good directions and advice. The day was perfect and we loved our adventure. Went from the shop to Jericho beach and back. Lunched at Granville Island at The Fish Company. When we came back Connor helped us end the day. Highly recommend the staff and the bikes :-). We'll be back!

Great bikes, well-equipped with helmet, light, lock, and bell. Great guidance on where to go around Stanley Park and the city. Friendly, helpful staff. Reasonable prices. Plus Vancouver is a fabulous city for cycling. (I have bike-infrastructure envy, from my home here in the US.)

I rented a bike for 4 days from Cycle City Tours and Bike Rentals. I've rented a lot of bikes in a lot of cities and they had the best quality bikes that I've ever rented. The helmets were great as well! The prices were also great! The staff was also excellent and very helpful! I requested to return my bike each day after my ride because it was a little complicated storing it at my hotel. They let me bring it back each day and had it waiting for me the next day. Just a top notch place all around!

Did half day bike rental. We did not sign up for at tour. Note: There is a discount online with advanced booking! Check in was very fast even though there were a lot of people (on a Monday no less!). Everyone we dealt with was efficient yet patient enough to describe things clearly with details (bike lock, where to go, time frames, map explanations, listened to what we were interested in and sent us off with a plan). Gave us an extra large bike no extra charge (husband is 6'5"). Amazing way to see Vancouver and Stanley Park. I returned to them because last year, they were very kind and fair to me when I had to cancel not within the timeframe due to a significant injury to one of my daughters that required hospitalization -- they were sympathetic. Very classy of them.

We booked 6 e-bikes from City cycle tours to go it alone and cycle around Stanley Park sea wall path. We also ventured into beaver pond and the totem pole area. We cycled past beaches where we stopped for lunch at 3rd beach where they have bike parking, and we could lock up the bikes. All bikes come with a lock and key so you can rest and play sometimes. We had two 50 year old and three early 20s and one age 16 in our group. We all found it really easy to ride these bikes and had the best time. Lots of beautiful views and clear bike paths from shop to park. You don't need a guide if you want to go riding as there ate many cyclists and clear cycling paths.

Cycle City is amazing. They have high-quality rentals and great customer service. They aren't just a rental business. They truly know cycling. LOVED it!

We scheduled an evening tour of the city a few weeks ago. As luck would have it, the 2 of us were the only folks on the tour, so we had our great tour guide, Michael, to ourselves. If you are going to want to take a tour of Vancouver, seriously consider renting bikes (we rented pedal-assist versions). We went to every neighborhood in Vancouver, including Stanley Park. The pace was perfect and never once did I feel that I needed to take a break from the ride. There are so many points of interest that you stop and look at or discuss that you don't even notice you've been riding around for 3 hours. We also felt 100% safe as the city has seemingly mastered the art of making their city bike-friendly with dedicated lanes and a populace that knows how to interact/live in a city with bicyclists. Stanley Park is amazing. You go from riding in a major city to being in a beautiful forest preserve in a heartbeat. If you're lucky, you may even see an actual, wild beaver working maintaining his dam. We were lucky, he decided to swim out just prior to our taking off again for our ride. I enjoyed the tour so much that I booked the bike again for the next morning to ride around in some of the neighborhoods I wanted to see again. Please note - I am not an athletic, fit bicyclist....You do not need to be to enjoy this tour or rent these bikes. Thanks again to everyone at Cycle City, especially Michael - he was incredibly knowledgeable and kind, to boot!

Staff are very helpful and friendly. We rented e-bikes for a half day, but were given regular bikes by mistake, which we didn't realize until about 20mins into our ride. They ended up sending someone to do a swap which was awesome. The only downside was then the extremely annoying rubbing of my tire on the rear guard which was there for the next hr. Might've kept the bikes a bit longer and explored more of it wasn't for that. Would still recommend.

Flawless! Their customer service is definitely customer centered for your comfort and knowledge... EVERY employee, not just one or two! Check-out -very quick and easy. Location - in the middle of everything, right on a bike lane street. Comfort - bikes, helmets, saddle...better than my bike at home! Check-in - just as easy and quick! Rode casually 27 miles throughout the day. Vancouver is so very bike friendly! Loads of bike lanes, the park is beautiful. We stopped for so many pictures, I wondered if we would ever get around it! Obviously we did! :)

This was such a worthwhile experience and was the best way to explore so much of Vancouver in a short amount of time. If you are into biking I highly suggest looking into a Cycle City tour during your visit. Why it was epic: -Vancouver is SUCH a bike friendly city. We biked for something like 5 hours all over the city and pretty much had a bike path the entire time. The terrain was mainly flat, so don't let the 5 hour bike tour scare you if you aren't an avid biker. I think this tour would be suitable for all skill levels. -The bike and the helmet are good quality. The tour departs from the shop, and the staff at the shop took time to make sure that everyone was comfortable and ready to ride before starting. -Greg was a wonderful guide. So funny and knowledgeable and was really just passionate about all things biking and Vancouver. He even sent our group an email after the tour with a recap on what we learned and a bunch of local recommendations. -Worth the money! I took the Grand Tour which was $90. For the price tag you get a five hour tour and get to see so much of the city. We rode through Stanley Park, stopped for lunch on Granville Island and cycled through tons of other beautiful neighborhoods in between. Vancouver is pretty freakin' beautiful, so the ride is scenic the entire time. Next time someone tells me they are visiting Vancouver I will urge them to book a tour with Cycle City.

Second time renting from Cycle City, and we'll definitely be back again! They hooked us up for the day with a couple great e-bikes and a trailer for the kiddos. We all had a blast getting around Stanley Park, the aquarium, and downtown - highly recommend!

Could not be happier with my multi-day rental of 2 bikes from Cycle City. Great location with a bike lane out front. Everyone who I interacted with was personable and accommodating. The 2 bicycles (City bike and E-bike) were in good repair. I am a cyclist and know that these were quality bikes. They even found and mailed sunglasses that I forgot in a bike bag.

What a fantastic experience! Vancouver is very bicycle friendly and a bike tour by Cycle City is a great way to see parts of the city. The staff were friendly and helpful and the equipment was in great condition. There is a portion of the tour in the city, a portion along the sea wall, and also through beautiful Stanley Park. It's great for all ages. My 11 year old son was able to keep up and my mother was able to do it all also! And the tour guide Marlo was FANTASTIC! Great folks and nice bikes. Think it was $111 USD for two bikes for 6 hours and each bike came with a lock and a helmet. Don't even think about renting the share bikes in the city. They are junk.

We stayed in Vancouver for a few days & wanted to experience what everyone was talking about. Vancouver is known for biking & have amazing bike lanes which are safe to ride on. We called & spoke to Jason who was kind enough to squeeze 4 additional people to his bike tour. We arrived at Cycle City tours everyone was very friendly & helpful. We were assigned Lucas as our bike tour leader he was wonderful & also very informative. It was the best 4 hour electric bike tour we got to see everything. Thanks again Lucas! This was a fantastic leisurely ride exploring most of Vancouver for 13 miles (we did The Grand Tour-Stanley Park, Granville Island, seaboard). KIM was an amazing tour guide for our small group! She was knowledgeable, answered questions, was safe. Perfect for couples or families with older children as there are a few high traffic and small uphill areas. We highly recommend it!

Great bikes and service. We rented the bikes and did our own tour of Vancouver and it was a great experience. The city is such a bike friendly place with tons of flat and paved bike paths. We rented three bikes for 2 hours and had to upgrade because there was too much to see. The check out process was fast and easy. They showed us our bikes and how to use the locks. Then we were off to explore. If you are on the fence on renting, you should look no further and just do it. It's a great time at your own pace. The bike map tells you where it's easy and flat and ad long as you follow it, you will have a great time.

This was truly an epic e-bike tour and one of the best we have been on. Our guide Paulo was extraordinary. He provided a detailed history of Vancouver with unique and entertaining stories. The bike ride was beautiful, covering a large expanse of the city with spectacular views. The e-bikes were high quality and very smooth. We highly recommend this tour and tour guide!

Went on the Grand Tour, 13 miles of pedaling all around Vancouver including Stanley Park - a bit challenging on a couple of quick small hills but our guide Frank was awesome, patient and encouraging as we conquered them. He gave us tons of info about the city and took us off the beaten path. I got to see parts of Vancouver I wouldn't have otherwise seen. Loved it.

Excellent bike rental in Vancouver that offers fantastic e-bikes, helmets, and a city map of bike trails. The e-bikes here are awesome, the quality good, and they have strong batteries. I was able to ride for about 4 hours and used medium to high power the entire time without any problems. The cool thing about e-bikes is that you peddle softly (like in gear 1) and the bikes goes fast (like in gear 10) so it makes going up hills a breeze. I was able to ride around Stanley Park, into Yaletown, gastown, and pretty much make a circle around Vancouver on a bike. This is a fantastic way to tour the city.

If you want to see Vancouver, this electric bike tour is a must. The bikes are state of the art, and the guides give an excellent overview of the history and the personality of each stop along the tour.

My wife and I booked this 5 hour biking tour of Vancouver and had an excellent time. The trip was not terribly tiring and there were only a couple of substantial hills which we handled without difficulty. The tour provides a fairly extensive trip through the various parts of Vancouver mixing history with the present and cityscapes with the natural beauty of Stanley park. Harley did a great job leading us safely and provided excellent background and history with the sites we saw. Could not recommend more highly!

I don't have a comparable place for prices, but their pricing scheme is relatively simple and if you rent for the day without a guide and return same day. It comes out to something like $39CAD. They prorate other times and we found a small coupon from our hotel concierge which brought our day rental down to $139CAD for 4 people, without purchasing any insurance. They offer three bike options which range from fixed gear to 24 shifting option bikes. We chose the bike with the most gears and got it in 3 different sizes for our group to fit everyone's different heights. They put a basket on one of the bikes for free, if you want this you should ask for it before they go and grab any bikes. The bikes were in really good shape and had disc brakes which make it really easy to brake. We used the 24 gears quite often as we did a 30km / 18mi ride around the city. They provided decent maps but it'd be way better if they provided maps which detailed the bike lane routes on streets as well as the route around the outside of the island. All in all we were satisfied and biking in Vancouver is an absolute must in the summer!

We brought our own bikes and love it! Not only was it great to see the city, but a great way to converse with others from around the world. Our small group had a family from Belgium, a mom and son from Colorado, and the two of us from Oregon. Our guide (George) was amazing! He welcomed conversations and questions. You could tel that he loves doing what he does! It came natural to him, and he made it fun!

Due to Covid ,booked a 9am appointment for mechanic to assess new carbon road bike . No mechanic on duty till 10 am says the little guy..I ask "so what's the point of booking an appointment if there is nothing they can do" ? Maybe you shouldn't try to open till 10am ? Taking my business someplace else . Dont waste my time I won't waste yours.#fail

Hidden fees. It's reasonable to charge for labor but I would've liked if they told me beforehand since it turned a $60 bike rack into an $80 one. I could've installed it myself or gotten it installed for free at the bike shop near me where I bought my bike. Literally 4 screws. Lucas should've known since I specifically asked about pricing for all items I purchased. I also dropped $250 on panniers so that hidden $20 fee was just plain disrespectful. Previously I had a great experience getting help from Tom which is one of the reasons I came back to this store. Very disappointed with the experience with Lucas. Lucas didn't tell me about the installation fee and I only discovered it after he did the work and I've already paid. It's a slimy way to do business, you should be honest up front about all charges, not surprise your customers with hidden charges. Not impressed with Lucas and will likely avoid this spot in the future unless they make it right because I feel cheated. Lucas also didn't return the plugs that were in the screw holes in my bike after mounting the rack. It's common practice to give everything back to the customer that you take off their bikes. But it's also common practice to disclose labor fees, but they don't do that here either.. I would probably avoid this place for work on my bike. I'd rather do business with a place that I didn't feel ripped me off. Update in response to Josh's reply (2 Sep 2020): As I mentioned above, I'll clarify again since it wasn't clear: my issue is not that I think that $20 is an unfair value for the service of installing a bike rack, it's that this fee wasn't disclosed before the work was done and I didn't know I was paying it. The bike shop I went to the day before (Comor) offered to install accessories for free, and I hadn't bought a bike in 10 years so I was riding off of that energy. I didn't want to buy an $80 rack with free installation since I knew you could get racks for about $50. Well, I ended up buying a $60 rack for $80 without knowing it, so yeah, I feel ripped off. I was obviously mistaken for assuming that all shops would do it for free. I think it's reasonable for bike shops to set whatever prices they want as fees--$20 or $2,000 for a bike rack installation, whatever they want, as long as the price is clear and the customer doesn't get a surprise at the till after the work is done. To clarify, I do not think that Lucas intentionally or maliciously hid the fee, I think it was an accidental oversight, but when I brought it up with him he didn't attempt to make it right so the end result was me feeling ripped off and that he didn't care. That reaction, combined with lack of disclosure, seemed slimy to me. If I knew the cost was $20 I would've still grabbed the rack but installed it myself. I used to volunteer at community bike mechanic workshops and can patch my own flats, change a bike chain, and other things, so yeah, installing a bike rack with 4 screws is a simple job, relatively speaking, and not something I would've willingly paid $20 for.

Great staff and best way to explore and learn about the various pockets of Vancouver. We started in the pouring rain wearing the ponchos they provide to keep customers dry and happy. Our guide was very positive and kept us on track. Vancouver is so bike friendly that this tour is safe and doable for any level cyclist. After biking all along the waterfront and through Stanley Park we had lunch at Granville Market- so many delicious options! Several of our fellow tourists left halfway through but we kept cycling for another 3 hours- be prepared for a bruised and tender tushy or else bring some padded bike shorts!!! Our guide was very knowledgeable and gave us loads of info on history and trends at various stops all around the city. I believe travelers need to bike tour every major city they visit!

Our family of 4 from North Carolina took the 5-hour bike tour of Vancouver before our Alaskan cruise. it was the very best way to see as much of Vancouver as possible and it made us appreciate the city so much more and wish to return to delve deeper. Kim was our tour leader and fantastic. She kept things interesting for our teens and moved the group at a good pace. She did not sugarcoat historical events. Overall an amazing experience and a fantastic way to spend the day as well as value!!

We spent a lovely day touring Vancouver on the e-bikes. We feel we got to see all of the city and learn about the history. However, I would have preferred to hear a little less about the the politics of Canada. Although Lana did a great job, she may want to tone down all the negative comments about government. Weren't these horrible politicians voted into office??? I thought we had it bad with US politicians, but apparently they are even worse in Canada.

I highly recommend getting a bike and exploring the city of Vancouver. Their bike path system is very well-developed and makes riding around very easy and safe. The staff at city bike was very helpful and approachable. He (sorry I forgot your name) answered all my questions and made suggestions of places to check out. He even gave me a poncho in case it rains. Also, they charge fairly. Instead of making you commit to rent by hour/half day/ full day ahead of the time, you pay when you return. Overall a great experience!!

I've been here a couple of times for service and parts. They ordered a part I couldn't find online, and it was delivered fast. Bike service was same day, even in the height of summer.

It was a pleasure dealing with this company. Very professional and competent. I phoned to check out the rates and availability, making a reservation for the next day for a couple of E bikes for a half-day adventure. Everything went as planned. My bikes are ready, the credit card transaction was seamless. I got a lock and a helmet and 2E bikes, in perfect condition. We we were gone for a half a day and return the bikes as received. They are very accommodating, informative and professional. Highly recommend them.

We had a stellar experience with Cycle Vancouver; check in with Katie was efficient and she was warm and welcoming. Bike fitting was easy and the equipment provided was very good for city riding. Our guide, Rick was exceptional; he was born in Vancouver and knows so much about the city and loves to share the information and his enthusiasm. He took us to places I know we never would have found on our own. He was attuned to safety and I appreciated his knowledge of the routes and pathways. We really enjoyed the other people on our tour as well. The atmosphere that Rick created was fantastic and at the end, there were lots of hugs between the riders. I saw so much of Vancouver and learned so much. I highly recommend!!
