Google
Ran into these guys for the first time at a beer festival a couple of weeks ago. The brewer here definitely knows his way around a black lager! In a world overrun by IPA's, a decent lager that isn't a hoppy disastrous IPA in disguise like a lot of craft beers in Alaska is a refreshing find. Good beer, knowledgeable staff, and a cool vibe in the tasting room. Give them a try. You will not be disappointed.

M M.

Google
Love the brew but the place a little bit too quiet. Friendly staff. Reasonable priced. Usd 7 for a pint. I do like the t-shirt. Will get it next time

Chris S.

Google
Expertly crafted brews, warm environment, and generally not as crowded as other breweries in Anchorage. Cynosure is a great brewery if you’re into a variety of brew styles and is owned/operated by two of the nicest people you’ll ever meet. It’s got great seating options (nothing outside, sadly) and a great ambiance for grabbing a beer sign friends. There are food trucks occasionally too!

M Z.

Google
Nationally recognized, gold medal winning beers on tap. The black lager is 10/10. The owners and staff are kind, friendly, and knowledgeable. There is a relaxed, casual, and comfortable tasting room space often with food trucks available for quick bites. Always a pleasure to visit.

Amanda H.

Google
Great brewery. Loved the beer. They have Alaska chips from next door which my kids love. They had crayons and a few little toys for the kids. Even bubbles. Loved relaxing on the couch with friends

George C.

Google
We’re back in town and looking to try out some of the newer microbreweries in Anchorage. Cynosure was recommended by a friend and we slipped away from some family gatherings to see what Cynosure had to offer. Right away we liked how open, airy, and comfortable the taproom looked. The staff were welcoming and super nice. No problems with getting samples of their product. Turns out they make some very tasty ales and Belgian style beers and Cynosure is now on our favorite Alaska Breweries.

Levi O.

Google
Great beers and relaxed atmosphere. They are one of my favorite places for Belgian style beers, love their Triple the most, and the Cold IPA second. My only critique of this place is that they do not experiment enough, it is pretty rare to find a new beer on the menu. But this is very much a Me problem because we go about once a week! Also, beers are fairly priced, and growlers are super cheap.

Alexandria W.

Google
Lots of great beers and the people here are super nice! The bartender is awesome and always happy to give beer advice. I like how Cynosure always has a variety of beer styles on tap. They also have a crowler canner in case you want to take some home!

Yelp
Cynosure has great seating and lots of beers on tap. On nice days they have some patio seating in the parking lot. I tried the apricot sour which was amazing! They also have a really yummy lemon lime homemade soda. This place seemed very lowkey, only 2 other groups here on a Saturday. We will definitely keep this place in mind when we go to the breweries in town!

Yelp
Selection of beer is always great. New release, Pumpkin Porter is well balanced and yummy. Recommend it, as it won't last long.

Yelp
First time visiting--nice little brewery and they were hosting a Yelp event. The Hazy IPA was a hit! Not super hoppy, nice citrus notes. Great non-alcoholic options, too!

Yelp
Such a nice and cozy environment. Stopped in on Saturday night. Was greeted with the most friendly lady serving beers. I appreciate they have some small snacks for purchase. Cozy couches, tables or longer tables available for hanging out and socializing. My only complaint would probably be parking when it's super busy. But once inside - it's such a great place! Plus the beer is delicious!

Yelp
Stopped in for a Yelp event..first time at Cynosure Brewing! Exciting! I wasn't quite sure what to expect but let's just say..glad I stopped in. The location caught me by surprise, no worries..I love surprises (sometimes)..this was a good one. The parking lot up front was full so I parked around the side of the building because I am guessing that the snow covered all the wonderful lines we take advantage of, that guides us in the correct spot. I was on the go, so I knew I would be quick in and out. As soon as I walked in..the place is so cozy, warm, and fuzzy; all that good stuff that makes lovely thoughts appear in your head..that stuff!! The layout is nice, very open with seats meant for drinking and gathering..I thought the layout was very clever. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. I thoroughly enjoy beer knowledge, it makes the drink taste better..it's taste appreciation at best, basically. This place, staff and beer has my appreciation for sure. The beer that I had the opportunity to indulge in was the Saison..it was hoppy for sure. I really liked it. Next time I am in Anchorage with time to spare, I will stop in and try the flight. This is an amazing place and experience, worth trying!

Yelp
About a year ago a guy at work was drinking out of a tall boy... which begged the question of what was he drinking at work out of a brewery's can? It was kombucha from Cynosure and I added a mental note that was lost in the shuffle, so what a hit of deja vu when I walked in and saw the cans and the kombucha on tap and it clicked! We got a 32oz of the lemon lime shrub they had on tap and were not disappointed, reminded me of a lime rickey(a Baltimore staple, so some nostalgia there) and they can the growler right in front of you! Super cool detail, and I believe at the cost of 6 bucks not too shabby at all. They are so nice and friendly at Cynosure! We're definitely returning to get our hands on some of that kombucha, trying their ginger beer, and seeing what brews they have on tap.

Yelp
A week before leaving Anchorage and AK, I discovered Cynosure. That's unfortunate for me because the beer is excellent and the they've created a nice little place to have a beer.

Yelp
YIKES just realized I never reviewed this brewery! Complete oversight on my part. I first visited Cynosure in the spring of 2018 when I had just moved up here before I ever had the honor of Yelp eliteness, and was hellbent on making sure I visited as many breweries as possible. Coming from working at a craft beer bar in the suburbs of Chicago I was so excited for everything that the Anchorage beer scene has to offer, and I'm still to this day always insanely impressed with the Alaska craft beer community. I instantly was excited about Cynosure's menu as they had many of my favorite Beer styles (tripel, saison, quads, dunkel). I sampled a flight, and really liked their tripel. I remember thinking the beer was really delicious, and the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. I have only visited twice since then, and I must say shame on me. After finishing my crowler of triple this Friday I was reminded that I really like Cynosure's product like it's in my type 5 Anchorage breweries. The brewery is admittedly in a part of town I'm normally not anywhere near, but I definitely need to make it a point to at least stop by for some crowler once in a while! Cynosure is not an Anchorage brewery to miss visiting. They brew a quality product, and have tons of styles to select from. Extra bonus points for a friendly staff who is always excited to talk about all things beer!

Yelp
My husband and I made this our first stop when we arrived in Anchorage. The bartender was super friendly and welcoming and provided excellent service. I had the Aye Yai Yai IPA which I really enjoyed. My husband had the pale ale and the black lager. He liked both. The brewery itself is super cool and has various seating options including some comfy chairs and couches. The brew tanks are out and visible for you to check out. Would have loved to stay longer but we have lots to explore in a short time!

Yelp
Just wanted to shout-out this brewery again, for hanging in there and adapting post-COVID. We went on a Friday night to check out the "Melt' foodtruck. (they were sold out, oh well) The brewery is still run by the same two kind-hearted, friendly, helpful individuals. The beer is starting to get a little more diverse. While Cynosure used to focus almost exclusively on lagers and belgian ales, they have now joined the "haze craze" and offer a hazy IPA called "IPA #005". It uses Simcoe, Citra, and Idaho 7 hops and it is incredible! I'm glad they decided to branch out a bit. The process: go inside with you mask, order your beer, take it outside and drink it. It's got a wonderful vibe. It feels like you're drinking with your neighbors...the good kid of neighbors, not the whiner busy-bodies on Nextdoor. Give 'em a shot!

Yelp
Not gonns lie, i didnt know this place existed before. Came due to a yelp promotion. I was surprised to find this joint in a small quiet neighborhood. Super friendly staff who answered all my random questions. Easy ordering to go. Or you can stand outside accompanied by heat lamps. Black lager was nice and smooth and creamy. I would definitely go back again to try a different one too, or just the same.

Yelp
Great beer, fantastic service and magical ambiance. Kid friendly, petting zoo optional, drink limit and a beautiful collection of plants to enjoy. A very enjoyable place to stop for a meet and greet.

Yelp
Visited this brewery for the first time during a Yelp Elite Event. It is located on E. Potter Rd next to Alaska Chip Company, almost directly across the condos my spouse and I lived in, as newlyweds. It's a cozy space, with beautiful live plants. When I visited they had a full house. The employees were kind and efficient. I was geeked to see children and glad to know it's okay to bring mine. Belgian/wheat ales, as well as Hefe's are our favorites. The 9% Tripel is elite here. I had one glass and was toasty. I ended up purchasing a growler to-go. I can't wait to return. Thank you Cynosure Brewing.

Yelp
I met up with a friend at Cynosure - great experience. Very accessible and a great selection of beers. I went with the darkest on tap (a lager) which was great. They also have their 5 anniversary brew out (Vijf) as well. The ambience is great. Off to the right, there are the vats of beer-making goodness and picnic-style tablets where you can sit and feel like you are in the middle of the brew-making experience. Staff are very friendly and will guide you with your beer choice. Easy parking.

Yelp
Cynosure is one of my favorite breweries and they are doing a wonderful job with takeout !
google avatar

Robert K.

Yelp
Cynosure Brewing company is a nice place to grab a beer! The Belgian and Lager style beers are very tasty. I'm glad there are different beers on tap rather than IPAs. Maybe I'm a but bias because I work here but. American Porter is a very easy to drink, pretty roasty. Also the brewery is very small and cute. There is additional outdoor seating. Also food trucks that park there are very nice because you don't have to travel to other places for food! Hope you stop by to try the new beers and the ones on tap or bottled!
google avatar

Eammon B.

Yelp
Congratulations to Cynosure for celebrating 5 years! They've done nothing but get better and better each year. It's so nice to be able to pick up bottles and crowlers to go along with the growler options. This is one of my favorite places in Anchorage!

Scott B.

Yelp
The Cynosure IPA is super clean and good. I'm a fan. Not a ton of space here, it's more of a brewery tasting room than a pub.
google avatar

Sarah C.

Yelp
I was finally able to visit this brewery and I cannot believe I waited this long! They seem to be a specialty brewery, specializing in a variety of both Lagers and Belgian beers. (Lucky me, these are two of my favorites!) The brewery is small and intimate. When you speak with the owners, you can tell this isn't their job... it's their passion. I cannot wait to go back!

Yelp
This was my first time to come to Cynosure. Business has been running since September of 2016 operated and managed by a husband-wife team Clarke Pelz and Cindy Drinkwater. We came for beer tasting starting off with their Pilsner. The Pilsner is an award winning bear in 2018 with ABV of 5%. It is a lager that reminded me so much of Red Horse-a Philippine beer. We were also served Noe, a Belgian dark strong with ABV the of 8%. I enjoyed it better than the Pilsner or the Grissette which was a little bit too bitter for my taste. They will have sour apricot wit in about 1 to two weeks so look out for that. This event was very educational. Really enjoyed my time here. This is a must go for beer lovers.

Yelp
ok Covid stuff .... is this still going on? They All have mask and wear them the way the CDC tells you to. Over your mouth and nose. They have sanitizer and the place is so clean! The way they have it set up work very well for the space and makes it easy to have access to the goods! I have been here pre-covid you know the before times... before the Empire. This space is great, has room for you and a group. They have a great selection of quality brews. They get so great sours from time to time as well. What brings this place over the top is the friendly staff and education you get. They are friendly but that special kind of friendly. Like the group of friends you have had since high school. They are knowledgeable and will share this knowledge if your willing to listen. If they are not crazy busy ask what things do or are they will educate you on it. I love to learn more about my beers so it's nice to know a little more. There are some great locals here that you will enjoy meeting so come down and visit. They are only togo at the moment but still worth coming down to check things out and pick up a good beer.

Yelp
Classy local craft brewery craving out their little part of the world! Right off the Campbell Creek Trail
google avatar

Greg M.

Yelp
A hidden gem in Anchorage. Possibly the most solid brewery in town. Comfortable environment and the owners are genuinely amazing people. The beer is very drinkable and crafted well.
google avatar

Carrie G.

Yelp
Have been to this brewery twice now. First time we didn't find one we liked a lot but when we had another chance to go they had some new beers that we really liked. Rumor had it that they were coming out with a sour in a month or two so we will be back. They have some picnic tables to sit at and a collection of beer books to read while you sip. They also had some izze drinks if you want something non alcoholic.
google avatar

Victoria G.

Yelp
What a hidden gem! The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and passionate about their beer! I tried a few samples and it was honestly so hard to pick just one so of course I took two home. Speaking of taking beers home... the crowlers are filled and canned on the spot! If you're looking to enjoy your beer on location they also have a spacious heated outdoor seating area with a fire pit and heat lamps.
google avatar

David S.

Yelp
A great selection to taste, friendly and informative staff, and a very pleasant experience. Since I was driving we shared a single flight of 4 and let the staff pick flavors for us. We enjoyed the outside seating in the sunshine. I am not a huge fan of ales , preferring lagers, but what we sampled was interesting and fun. We sampled Helles, Black, IPA #008 Blackberry, and Wit. You can read the descriptions on the attached photo. We had a pleasant afternoon and enjoyed the interaction. Oh , and by the way, I am tough to get 5 stars from --this was 4 stars because the table we were seated at outside was so wobbly on the uneven parking lot surface that our beers sloshed out of the glasses when we sat down. Something to check before seating customers at a table.
google avatar

Chantel B.

Yelp
The space is really nice, the people that work here are cool and will chat with you about beer. There's typically a food truck out front too! No one will judge you for going to town on a yeti dog like it's your last meal. I love the variety of beers. Not just for IPA lovers!
google avatar

Benton M.

Yelp
Stopped here on a Saturday night after 7pm. Was pretty quiet with just a few other people here. We were able to get our beer flight quickly, bartender was friendly. I like to visit breweries when I travel to get the vibe of different places, and if I lived in town, I would come here regularly. Beers were fine, nothing exceptional, but something for everybody. Can't say anything bad about this place.
google avatar

Janice B.

Yelp
So far every brew I've tried has been great! Counter staff are friendly and helpful.

Chris K.

Yelp
Every time I come to Anchorage I try the brewery scene and Cynosure, by far has the best beer. Great counter staff.
google avatar

Shawn P.

Yelp
Located a bit off the beaten path in Anchorage, Cynosure offers a selection of beers that seems a bit more varied and eclectic than most breweries in town. They usually have one or two good seasonals available alongside some staples. The saison is unusual but quite good. The small but comfortable tasting area is filled with couches on which to sit and chat with friends.
google avatar

Clara B.

Yelp
Their covid measures are solid and they are asking all patrons to sanitize with provided hand sanitizer upon entry. Everyone is sitting apart from each other- there are enough seating and space for that! I love that they offer a "crowler" option. I was able to sample a teeny bit of some beers I was considering. I settled with a farmhouse ale which I really liked! It's little spicy (really teeny bit) but makes the ale engaging for my taste buds. It was a perfect Friday treat! The bartender who was working in the taproom was super friendly with me and patient enough to let me write from my phone (I'm deaf). I'll be back to get more of that ale!
google avatar

Judy H.

Yelp
I visited this brewery after a hike. They had a lot of great beers to choose from. I even got some delicious chocolate there. They have outside seating too. There were a lot of dogs there and I pet them all! I even got to meet the owner and her puppy! She was very nice. I can't wait to go back again! I just wish these breweries could stay open later. Go check it out!
google avatar

Susan M.

Yelp
This microbrewery delivers. Great variety of lagers and beers. Reasonable pricing. Great vibe! Great tour available for groups up to 20 with prearrangement. Must see!
google avatar

Katherine S.

Yelp
I like this place. It seems like they are still new and getting their feet wet in the brewery business. Not a whole lot of variety here, mostly lagers and Belgian style ales, but the beer is decent, they have food trucks, and it's a very small laid back easy going environment.
google avatar

Alex S.

Yelp
Tried their fest which is a cross between a lager and ale. Beer was light and well done - the ale cut through nicely

Martin T.

Yelp
Cynosure has become my favorite Anchorage brewery for their quality, consistency, and fair prices. The top-notch service is a bonus but I'll keep coming back for the beer.
google avatar

Jennifer H.

Yelp
Absolutely fabulous beer, clean taste and unique brews! Atmosphere is warm and inviting. Always festive. A delightful experience.
google avatar

Rory S.

Yelp
After a long waited opening Cynosure brewing has finally opened! These guys are awesome. Pretty cool brewery in the industrial area off of potter. They mainly brew a selection of belgiums and lagers that leave you thirsty for more ;). In the brewery there is where the magic happens on one side and a very well put together tasting room, awesome decor and places to sit included. This brewery is definitely going to make it far here in anchorage, it's really exciting having these guys here finally, and even more exciting to have these new selections to fill my growlers with ;p
google avatar

Les B.

Yelp
Terrific. Very clean and tidy, however it is SMALL. An awesome bartender was there to greet me. There's no sign, so make sure not to miss it! It's a Belgian brewery so don't give your hopes up on a stout... Food truck parked outside with a decent menu. Seems like they're only improving too. Cheers!
google avatar

Kimber A.

Yelp
Love this place! Great beers, very kind and informative owners. The atmosphere is pretty cool, especially the 'all gender' bathrooms. Their pilsner and stout are my favorites, but everything they serve is great. Parking is a little bit limited, but it's worth it!
google avatar

Jennifer M.

Yelp
Cynosure Brewing is such a unique brewery and welcoming environment. They have handmade growlers and mugs inside, food outside, and plenty seating. If you haven't you should go check them out.
google avatar

John P.

Yelp
Excellent selection for the size. They have about 7 different types of beer on draft, mostly belgian-style. It's definitely a good brewery close to my place so I'll be back!
google avatar

Katherine B.

Yelp
The service was fantastic. They took the time to talk to us and find the beers that we would enjoy. They even recommended the sour that I didn't think I would ever like and it was amazing! The back story of the owners is cute and they are very friendly. I plan on making this a regular spot.

Zack W.

Yelp
Great new brewery to add to the Anchorage line up. Specialized in more German style beers. Several lagers were on tap the two times I have visited. Hopefully they will add some more summer ales as we approach the spring/summer seasons. Great spot to relax and enjoy a crisp ale. Their hours are limited, so be sure to check out their hours before going. Great owner run place! Will be back.

Joel B.

Yelp
Top notch! Every beer here is mature and complex. None with overpowering or strange flavors. Definitely a pleaser for every palate. My faves, Fest (is best) and the Black. All of the finishes and decorations are beautiful. The food trucks have been a welcome addition. Thank you Clark and Cynthia for making our lives happier and better!

Robin D.

Yelp
Great new brewery in town! Clarke (was the Moose's Tooth brewer) is making truly wonderful beer. And the place is great- casual. Bring your growler. He did a fundraiser for the Alaska Botanical Garden and everyone loved the place and more importantly, the beer.
