Cypress Cottage

Overnight stay en route from Knysna to Cape Town. Central location. Heritage property. Comfortable warm room, well appointed and dog friendly. Etienne our host was great and we appreciated the lounge area and welcome sherry with Wimbledon tennis to view. Off street safe parking. We opted for the English breakfast which was excellent value.

Cypress Cottage is a beautiful building with a lovely front garden welcoming you in. The owners and staff were very welcoming and made us feel at home. Indeed the guesthouse had a very homely feel to it, we loved our stay there. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The weather was very hot during our visit so we welcomed the air conditioning in our room and the dips in the swimming pool. There was the convenience of being able to park onsite as well. We booked in for breakfast, which was very tasty and we enjoyed it sitting on the front veranda looking at the beautiful garden and watching the world go by. We would highly recommend Cypress Cottage to everyone and look forward to returning on our next trip to South Africa.

We had a short one night stay at Cypress Cottage. The owners who also live on the property were very friendly. Electric blanket on a very cold night was a great plus.

We spent one night at Cyprus Cottage and had a very pleasant stay. The room was spacious, practical, and pleasantly cool, offering great comfort after a day out. The parking is excellent, and the small pool in the private garden is a nice feature—perfect for a quick refresh.||The host was welcoming and provided useful information about things to do in Swellendam and the surrounding area, which we really appreciated.||A great place for a short stay—highly recommended!

We loved this place. The owner was fantastic and so knowledgeable about the whole area. The rooms were immaculate and beautifully decorated and the breakfast was out of this world. The only thing we found was the mattress in the room we had was way to hard, but this is more personal preference. I would recommend Cypress Cottages to anyone
