It is a very pretty building with 3 rooms. It has a very authentic feel, really clean, and well equipped. It's close to the centre of the city in a historic location. Not for those who want international hotel chain accommodation, but if you want to get a feel for the culture of the place, it's an ideal choice and great value. The owner is really helpful, but you need to let her know your arrival time in advance. I would visit again, what more can I say.

We stayed only for one night there. Very cooperative host. We were in contact while coming from south Cyprus and we arrived around 8pm. It's like 15-20 minutes far from the Ag. Dometios border. The reception lady was already there and waiting for us. This place has only a few rooms and it seemed like there was no one else staying there for that night. The room was well equipped and very clean and quiet. We also found car parking on the street Ike 2 minutes far. Some restaurants and small shops are close, so we also enjoyed a nice dinner.

The rooms are super clean not even an insect in sight, nice and cozy. Bathrooms are clean rooms are spacious the reception and mini garden are well decorated and well maintained. We were received by Ms. Dudu ... a lovely lady, very friendly and sweet. Neighborhood is quite most of the time. Some nice restaurants, taxi stand and stores are close by too.

It was fine, I wouldn't stay again. Not sure I'd visit the town again either. (To be fair we were only there from 4pm-6am, so didn't have a chance to see too much). Price good, Room clean, shower hot and didn't leak, close to old town, kind of cute, AC worked good, beds not bad. It's just 4 hotel rooms around a tiny court yard. The room was very dark with bad lighting and one small window. All together room was small, just unimpressive. We didn't sleep well. Kind of felt like sleeping in a cave, weird vibe, weird load banging late at night for an hour- like hammering. Kind of a run down neighborhood, but that might be everything around here... There were lots of kids in the streets but I still was happy I was not a woman alone walking around here. Staff shows up just to let you in, so lobby is empty and dark at night and in morning (my advice: leave a small lamp on so guests don't have to stumble around in the dark). Very unhelpful with recommendations. I called and messaged about advice for catching a cab from laranaka airport, they provided no advice both times we talked but then kind of laughed at us for being overcharged for the ride when I arrived. But they did call us a cab that showed up to get us at 6:30 am for our flight so I was very grateful for that- because it's a kind of quiet area... I don't think a cab would have just drove by. Safe not attached to anything so it is useless - someone could just pick the whole thing up and walk away with it. (You are supposed to screw it down).

Very simple and nice accommodations. We were much closer to the main street (5 minutes walk) and markets (15 minutes walk) than what we assumed from our first impression. The streets are very safe from what I can tell too. The host was kind and gracious. The hotel itself has a very unique green that is authentic to the locale.

We booked the Cypriot Swallow following great reviews, including the Lonely Planet recommendation. However, it unfortunately ended up being one of the worst ‘hotels’ we have stayed at (calling it a guesthouse or apartment would be more accurate). ||The owner very kindly let us check in later (around 8pm) which, combined with the beautiful building, is the reason for 2 stars rather than 1. However, the check in was quite awkward and slow whilst she calculated how much we had to pay. Once this happened, she was keen to leave quickly, giving us little information and just saying ‘make sure to give a great review’. ||The room itself wasn’t clean covered in dust. It looked like it hadn’t been touched in a long time. The safe didn’t work, and on the second day, the shower didn’t either. We didn’t see any staff members until check out (where we were again told to ‘leave a great review’ without any questions about how our stay was) so these issues could be easily fixed - we would have been as well staying in a cheaper AirBnB. ||The worst part was undoubtedly the noise. Understandably, because it’s an old building, sound proofing will never be great. However, our room was right next to reception and we could hear absolutely everything. On our first night, a small group kept on ringing the doorbell after midnight before giving up and leaving. This made us feel unsafe. There was then a group, alongside the receptionist, who were very noisy at 7-8am each morning. Because there were no curtains, it was already light at this time so it was hard to get back to sleep (meaning we got less than 6 hours sleep due to the late night disturbances). There were also smokers in the courtyard and the smoke seeped quickly into our room, making it hard to breathe. ||We would’ve brought up these issues during our stay but there were no staff in the hotel to bring this up with except via WhatsApp. We’d highly recommend staying in North Nicosia but unfortunately not this hotel as the good reviews did not at all match our experience.

Cypriot Swallow Hotel is situated in a superbly renovated building and has 3 rooms that open onto an internal courtyard. The whole interior is bright and cheerful, it has been charmingly decorated, is full of plants and interesting objects and feels very homely. The whole hotel was spotlessly clean. We had the Bougainvillea room - the room itself was not huge but there was a good sized wardrobe and drawers and we also had a small private entrance lobby which gave us quite a bit of extra space. There was a fridge, kettle air con, hairdryer etc - everything you need. The double bed was comfortable and the wifi was good. The bathroom was well equipped and plenty of hot water in the shower. There was a little noise from the street during the evening but it stopped about midnight and didn’t cause us any problems. Service was good although we only met one member of staff - Dudu gave us a great welcome, plenty of advice, and helped us find a parking space for the hire car. There was no private parking and we had to park a couple of streets away so were sllightly worried about the hire but everything was fine. It was no problem to leave our luggage for a few hours after check out and come back for it later. The breakfast was amazing - a traditional Cypriot array of different cheeses, jams etc which were all freshly prepared and we could choose what time we wanted it. It is served in the courtyard if the weather is good or in the inside breakfast room if not. Location is good - it is inside the city walls in the northern Turkish part of Lefkosa; 3 minutes walk from Kyrenia Gate, and is close to the historical centre and the main attractions. It is close enough to the Ledra Street border crossing to walk even with a lot of luggage. It is easy to find when driving as long as you have a good map. Other people have complained about the area but we did not have a problem with it, it was poor but old and authentic and the people were friendly. The price was more than we normally pay but comparable with other properties so no complaint. We only spent one night here as a stopover before crossing to the south for the second half of our trip but would love to come back and spend longer another time.

We stayed for 2 days at the swallow boutique hotel and we really loved it. The location is amazing and it's very easy to reach the city center. The boarder is also very near, if you want to visit the greek side of Nicosia.||Our host took really good care of us. She even upgraded our room, gave us very helpful information about the city and nice places to visit and serverd us an outstanding & very delicious, typical cyprus breakfast.||The room was as lovely as the time we spend there. ||We want to thank our host for the amazing stay and are looking forward to visit this beautiful oasis - situated in the middel of Nicosias everyday people - again.||All in one we highly recommend the swallow boutique hotel!||Lots of Love, ||Sarai & Raphael
