D'CoalPot BVI Restaurant Bar & Grill

This was, without a doubt, the most amazing dining experience I've had. Ginger, my server, was extradinary. The perfect combination of watching over me without intrusion. The food, waza. BBQ half chicken. Sounds ordinary?? Far from it. The plantins, rice and coleslaw, all so flavorful. The sunset.......like something out of picture books. You were dining in heaven. A must go restaurant in the BVI. Thank you for a memorable evening. Oh, I almost forgot......the Mango Margareta to start. Thank you, Thomas

Worst experience in Tortola. Has high hopes, and the location and atmosphere were lovely. Our appetizer was given to another table. We asked to have that removed because our food was imminent. When our food arrived, it was ice cold. My conch was inedible. Really horrid. Sent it back and just went without dinner. The 2 bites made me actually throw up later. Waiter never asked us if we wanted more drinks. We sat forever waiting and finally asked for the bill. This place was beyond disappointing.

The restaurant is perched over the shore, great views. We ate when the sun had already set and the breeze was perfect. This was in December. The salmon in dill sauce was very good, not dry. The BBQ baby back ribs were good as well, mild but with a little kick. Our waiter was excellent and very professional. We did not have trouble parking but as is usually the case the parking space isn't huge. The picture of the inside does not show the entire seating area. There is a lot of room.

What a fun establishment! The brightly painted wood and awnings and festive lanterns and lights made foe a whimsical atmosphere. We sat on the veranda right next to the rocks with water lapping up at sunset. The food was delicious! Both my husband and I had the BBQ back ribs. The sauce was fruity and tangy with a spice that snuck up on us. Yum! Somehow, we felt like eating dessert and asked for decaf and tea to go with it (crazy on a hot day!). The young waiter was so kind and brought us choices, and then the milk we asked for was heated. All in all, it was a lovely evening!

We just arrived to the island and missed the sunset. Our waitress, MJ was delightful. Every single one of her recommendations hit the spot. The Jerk Chicken wings were fall off the bone and the spice was wonderful. There are only 3 wings, but they are whole wings, so 6 in American restaurants. Iona’s ginger wine chicken, family recipe, was great. A thinly pounded chicken breast sautéed, with a special sauce that was fantastic. The curried coconut fish dishes were also very good.

We had a wonderful dinner at The D’Coal Pot and it was one of the highlights of our trip. Our server recommended the ginger wine chicken, and it was outstanding — full of flavor and perfectly cooked. The setting made the meal even more memorable. The restaurant sits right by the ocean, so you can hear the waves while you enjoy your dinner — it’s the perfect combination of great food and a relaxing, authentic island atmosphere. If you’re looking for a spot with delicious local dishes and a beautiful seaside vibe, The D’Coal Pot is not to be missed.

The food here was exceptional and we came back multiple times. The Jerk Rib eye steak I had was excellent and the Roti I had was the best I had on Tortola. The view is incredible, the staff is very friendly, and the menu rotates based on availability. Highly recommend

Holy cow the food was amazing! I personally recommend Iona’s chicken - I literally ate everything on my plate! The service was on point and the environment, right at the water’s edge, was so beautiful. Put D’Coal Pot at the top of your list of places to try, you will leave full and happy!
