"Venice's Best Fish “This family-run restaurant on the fishing island of Pellestrina is quite far out—probably 45 minutes by boat. But in the summer months, it’s a lovely ride, breezy and fresh. Once you’re at the restaurant, you sit on a pontoon and see nothing but the spread of la laguna and the occasional boat speeding past. They do wonderful fish here. It’s incredibly fresh and they’ll bring you an array of mixed antipasti to start. The oven-baked turbot on potatoes with baby artichokes and baby tomatoes is fantastic. So, so good.” —Skye McAlpine, cookbook author and Venice native. Read about more of McAlpine's Venice favorites here ."

Had a lovely lunch, sitting in the outside dining area, overlooking the sea. Food was delicious and lovely nice staff. The interior of the restaurant is well decorated too.

The food is some of the nicest in Venice, with an amazing atmosphere overlooking the lagoon. If you have dinner you will be treated with an amazing sunset. Service was impeccable with amazingly kind waiters Wonderful experience Worth the journey.

Not worthy of the money, small portion not good tasty... like not spicy at all. For 2 person 70Euro and you going hungry from restaurant. We was here for the first time, and for the last time. I really like good gastronomy, but here nothing special. Five waiters speak to each other and we have 20 min on table empty plates. We had to refill ourselves by ourselves, waiters to many work with talking.

Delicious food with excellent service. They decorated the table beautifully for the private party we attended. Gluten-free friendly.

Excellent seafood and good service. Book in advance, but possible to get a free table late in the afternoon. Good selection of wines. Nice view of the Laguna.

Top location A note should be done to the food, it seems they feel they have the best location therefore food is not that important anymore

We travelled from Venice by ferry and bus but we had a great time. I suggest that you book for the jetty. It’s under shade, by the sea and very nice. Pasta, wine and dessert were all delicious. Friendly staff too. We had a most enjoyable day

Yelp
Although it has been several months since my visit, it continues to be difficult to find the right words to describe Da Celeste. The usual parameters by which we are accustomed to assess modern dining seem pointless. Eating a local catch (all the better if suggested by the well-informed wait staff), drinking a regional wine, all seated on the terrace overlooking the Venetian Lagoon in the tranquility of the Island of Pellestrina, feels like the most natural thing in the world. It is only afterwards that you stop and realize that what you have experienced is inimitable anywhere else. I am apprehensive to post this review, lest I contribute to Da Celeste being assaulted by the tourist mob that eradicates Venice's history and conscience on a daily basis. But I have resolved to post this more for me to document an ethereal experience more than anything else.
