The food was absolutely amazing, and the atmosphere was exceptional: authentic and incredibly homey. It wasn’t just the warm and welcoming staff that made it special, but also the beautiful decor that added so much character. We truly felt like we had stumbled upon a hidden gem. I recommend making an effort to speak with them in Italian if you are a tourist!

Google
Genuinely the best meal of the whole trip!! Such an authentic italian family meal. Everything tastes so fresh and homemade. Not touristy at all. Such a hidden gem. 100000% recommend. A must try when in Rome. The gnocchi and carbonara were to die for.

Google
There is a reason why pasta is from Italy. it’s the best pasta we have had (including other countries of course) and we will probably never be ever to eat pasta again. Thank you so much 🫰

Delicious homemade food, not tourists one. Really nice service and friendly atmosphere. Best carbonara I've ever had ❤️ and really affordable prices

Google
Beautiful old family driven restaurant. The room is filled with paintings , and the staff of father, mother, and son did a very good job in making us feel welcomed. We enjoyed our late lunch with soup, varm seafoodsalad, and pasta. The food was made with love and was very tasty.😋👌 The tables are very close and I love it because we heard our neighbours on our left side having a very interesting discussion in Italian and we did not understand anything (maybe 10%), but just listen to Italians talking is sooo 👍, yes. So we started talking to the guest on our right side and had a very nice talk with an American couple that was on their first trip to Italy. Oh, I just love these moments. 💖 I can recommend this restaurant and I'd love to eat here again next time we're in Rome.

Google
This Italian restaurant has the charm of a small, family-owned spot with an emphasis on homemade food, yet it falls short in a few key areas. The atmosphere is pleasant enough, and the service was friendly, but the overall experience didn’t quite match the prices on the menu. Desserts were a similar story—the tiramisu was okay but felt more like an ice cream. Interesting approach on that one.

Google
We celebrated my wife's birthday here and it was one of the best dinners we had in Rome. The food and service was excellent! A quaint restaurant on a side-street, near the Spanish Steps. A must-try when in the area.

Google
This was the last place I ate at during my recent trip to Rome and I wish I found it sooner. The jewish artichoke was great but the Roman style artichokes were even better!! Then I got spaghetti with clams and one friend got the seafood spaghetti in tinfoil. We were just so happy with our choices, i miss it already. Other good dishes were the eggplant pasta and the seafood risotto. One friend didn't care for the spaghetti with ricotta and artichokes but I didn't try that one. He said he was suprised both starter artichokes were tasty but the pasta lacked some flavor. Overall great food and so much more on the menu that sounded good too. If I can come back to Rome, I'd love to eat here again.

Yelp
We loved this spot in Rome. It is down a quiet alley. So we grabbed a table outside for lunch and enjoyed the atmosphere. It is a family run restaurant. Service is great. They are kind and have a sense of humor. Even though we barely speak any Italian, we were able to relate to them and enjoy the interactions. Good was delicious! We tried the carbonara and the prosciutto and melon. We loved it all. Affordable wine. Great spot for lunch or dinner.

Yelp
Went here for a chill dinner, the chicken was nothing special it was supposed to be spicy but it was just normal grilled chicken. Besides that the food was good, they had a great tiramisu. Nice spot to grab a bite to eat after hanging around the Spanish steps but nothing special.

Yelp
Food was amazing, wonderful family who runs it. We enjoyed a great bottle of Lambrusco with our pasta lunch. Definitely would head there again if in Rome.

Yelp
Came here after seeing so many recommendations on Instragram. Its has a fairly casual atmosphere, you'd be fine dressing in jeans or shorts. Service was OK- didn't really seem like we had one assigned waiter, and at times we had to ask for more water, to order dessert, etc. We ordered pasta and a main each, expecting the pasta course to be smaller. Could have each order pasta and split the main as the pasta dishes were large. For pasta we had the Spaghetti with clams (which they are known for) and lasagna. I really wanted to finish the whole plate of pasta with clams, it was that good, but I knew we had main courses coming. For mains we had the saltimbocca and sliced beef with potato. Beef came cooked rare and very tender. The saltimbocca was also good. We finished off the meal with the strudel and tiramisu-both of which were OK. All of that food and a bottle of wine was about 200€ which seemed a bit high for the casual atmosphere, but the food was delicious.

Yelp
6days in Rome and 11days in Italy...as good as Italian cuisine is, being from Los Angeles, the constant Italian cuisine was getting a bit routine. But tired and just looking for a quick bite, we found this "hole in the wall" near our VRBO. And WHAT A FIND?!?! The food was delightful and delicious! Fried calamari was full of flavor and fried just perfect. The lasagna, gnocchi, baked sole and spaghetti with clams for our primi...portions big enough to have on its own and worth every bite. But...the grilled shrimp we got on a whim....OMG....so TASTY! And to top it off with a crème brûlée and tiramisu both homemade were worth stuffing out already full bellies to cap an unforgettable dining experience. The service from the family (father, mother and son) made us feel like we were having dinner at a Roman home. Grazie Edy!!!

Yelp
Fantastic gem of a find! Highly recommend this place for a great locals experience. Artichokes, pasta and meat sauce, and meats and potato dishes were great

Yelp
Best Amatraciana I've ever had! I've had it in Italy about 6 times, and this was definitely the best.

Jeremy W.

Yelp
Located off a Main Street with plenty of shopping, this spot had amazing dishes! The bruschetta was deliciously seasoned. The carbonara and lasagna were both very tasty. Worth trying again for sure. The staff were all extremely friendly.

Yelp
OK so I am an American tourist. That's embarrassing enough. My mom and I are staying in the neighborhood where this restaurant is located and we ran across it by accident. It looked nice and they had a great menu so we thought we would try it. Plus, we were so jetlagged we needed to eat. The food here is amazing. That's all I can say! It was so good that we went back two days in a row. The staff are super friendly as well. The female owner doesn't speak much English (but she tries)and why would she? We are in Italy after all. She is so friendly that makes up for it. Her son does speak English and he is wonderful as well. The service is impeccable, and the food is exceptional - especially their seafood. They have wonderful Italian dishes, appetizers, wine, etc. I noticed a lot of locals go here as well, so that proves that it is good! I highly highly recommend.

Yelp
Good place for lunch . Pasta and meat dishes are very tasty. Good service and cute decor. Recommend the seafood pasta in tinfoil

Yelp
An excellent experience. Great food, outstanding service at very reasonable prices off the main street so quiet surroundings with only an occasional car passing as we sat outside.

Yelp
Great service and ambience - lit up outdoor seating with candlelight on a quiet street. The food we got was pretty good! Fried artichoke, a grilled cow's cheese with potatoes (tasted smoked!), lemon butter sole fish (very delicate and lemony) and saffron lemon risotto. Very satisfying. The barolo wine was also incredible. Highly recommend! Much better than all the touristy places in the area.

Yelp
This hidden gem is worth the visit!!! It's in the high end shopping area but off One of the small side streets towards Via Margutta. The spicy chicken was cooked perfectly. The pastas ( we got the tagliatelle bolognese, linguine pesto and ravioli pomodoro) were perfect portion and delicious! The restaurant is ran by really cute couple - so friendly!!!

Yelp
Their food was the first meal I had a few years ago when I visited Roma for the first time. Back then arriving so close to the closing time, she kindly let us in and order something quick. I was starving and so stressed out that day, their food felt so comforting and felt so much better after finishing a plate of pasta. I told myself someday I would like to come back and eat proper dinner here so I did today. Melon tasted so refreshing during hot day, it helped me with my appetite. I ordered the same pasta as the first time and it was as good as I remembered to be. I thoroughly enjoyed their food while having flashback memories from previous visit. Lamb was seasoned and cooked well. Crunchy on outside and juicy on inside. Service was good. They were very patient with my limited Italian, and took time to understand my poor Italian language. Whenever I requested more of something, two ladies were on it right away. BTW, they do speak English well, they just chose to speak to me in Italian as I was trying to practice my limited skills. I stayed here for about two hours, started with appetizer, salad, pasta, main and finished with tiramisu. Their house wine was actually pretty good. I don't know the name of it as I didn't bother with wine list (no way to finish a bottle alone). I appreciated their hospitality then and today.

Yelp
The food, the service and ambiance are topnotch at Edy. We've been coming here for 15+ years every time we are in Rome. If we're in Rome for two nights, we eat at Edy both nights. Anything you order from the menu is fresh and well prepared. There are some outdoor tables but you must book early to get those. But the ambiance inside is just as nice!

Yelp
This place you will need reservations for. Thankfully, our hair stylist is friends with the owner/manager and called ahead for us to have a table. The outside seating area was beautiful. She ordered grilled beef with roasted potatoes and I had the spicy chicken dish (both pictured). The food was excellent. I was not as pleased with the staff overall. They seemed either overwhelmed, distracted, or maybe just disinterested. We were served bread but had to track someone down for the balsamic vinegar and oil. I kept having to look flag someone down we needed something.

Yelp
This place was recommended to us by a tour guide that lives in Rome. We are so glad we stopped here! Like most places in Rome, you can sit inside or out. Since it was a beautiful night, we sat outside. It's far enough off the main drag that it's quiet and romantic. We started with a dish I'd been wanting to try: carciofi alla guidia- artichokes Jewish style. The artichokes are seasoned and fried in olive oil. It's a simple, tasty starter. I ordered cacio de Pepe and was in heaven! The pasta was perfectly done, the sauce was divine! My husband got the saltimbocca alla romana. The veal was so tender and the sauce was on point. Our server was very friendly and spoke English very well. This is a wonderful example of Roman food and should be visited if you're near the Spanish Steps!

Yelp
One of the best dinner we've had in Italy so far. Lots of local people eat here and not just tourists. Very fresh and tasty authentic food. Chef even gave us dessert on the house.

Yelp
This place was recommended by our local tour guide so we went with somewhat higher expectations. He suggested to never go to places that are right in front of a tourist location instead go just a few streets down and you'll get far better food for less. Edy's was the perfect place to end our long day of touring. Great food, great service, romantic and just a stone's throw away from a major piazza and shopping area. My husband had the saltimboca which he devoured. I had the pasta amatricana which was excellent. The pork cheek is a bit fatty but that's what makes it SO good.

Vincenzo T.

Yelp
Had lunch there today with a friend and all dishes were excellent along with being served efficiently in a friendly manner. Don't miss the chance to stroll along the Via Magutta next to it. A very famous spot filled with art galleries that was the setting for Roman Holiday and housed such luminaries as Fellini and Picasso.

Yelp
Fantastic meal for our last night in Italy. I had the grilled prawns (recommended by the waiter, he described them as "very fresh" and I have to say, I agree!) and my husband had the seafood risotto. We also shared a 1/2 liter of house white wine for only 7 euros-- not bad at all! The prawns were delicious and cooked perfectly. My only complaint is that I wish there were more (I believe I got 6 prawns for 22 euros, which feels a bit steep). My husband thoroughly enjoyed his risotto, which came with cubed fish, calamari, and small shrimp. Highly recommend for an upscale seafood or pasta dinner!

Yelp
I'm almost weary of sharing because this place is so good!! The best pasta I've had in italy (and I've had many) super nice people and great prices. We had the pasta with mushrooms, pasta with artichokes and Nioche. All amazing, if you're in Rome stop by, you're in for a treat.

Yelp
Edy! We still call out your name with longing as we review the meat and pasta dishes at local Italian restaurants in the US claiming to have authentic italian food!! Oh Edy, why can't you be closer than a ten hour plane ride? You kept us well fed on our honeymoon, made us actually ENJOY pulpo, make us continuously wish that our time in Rome was extended by weeks and weeks... Please know we didn't want to review you at all for fear of giving away one of the best kept secrets in the arts district, but your food is too delicious not to call out your name for all to hear....Edy! Edy! Edy! We miss our nightly meals so, Us

Yelp
A wonderful meal in a tucked away side street!! Came here by chance on a Saturday night at 7:30 without reservations (though I would recommend) and we were able to get right in. The place is small but extremely charming and slightly fancy, but is quiet and unsuspecting from the location of it being tucked away at the end of the street. The food was AMAZING and was quick too. I got the fillet with peppercorn sauce and potatoes and it was absolutely delicious and so so so tender. Prices were reasonable for the quality of food that you're getting. I'm not sure why this place has so few reviews!! It has been the best meal I've had in so long and I've been traveling through Italy for over 2 months. Definitely go here!! You won't regret it.

Yelp
A very quaint little restaurant with fabulous service and amazing food! I found it walking around Rome looking for a restaurant near my apartment and thought it was the perfect place to stop and eat at for a nice dinner. Sadly when I discovered it I was un able to eat there for they could not take more people (it was Valentine's Day) they where completely booked! So I decided to go visit it the next day for dinner and the service and food was impeccable. The service was quick, and they got my food to my table in a timely manner. And the food was rich and delicious, the flavors lingered in my mouth.I highly recommend for anyone visiting Rome and looking for nice dinner.

Yelp
Tucktaway on a side street this charming place had everything I was looking for melon with prosciutto , Eggplant with cheeses, and homemade pasta with mushrooms; it was everything I hoped for interstellar wine selection

Yelp
Great food. We stopped in for a late lunch with no expectations. Low and behold we were presented with a rich an flavorful meal that tasted like home cooked goodness.

Yelp
So amazing! So flavorful, traditional. Hidden gem filled with locals. Great service, highly recommend the seafood spaghetti!!

Yelp
Just chanced upon this great little place on our first night in Rome. Excellent bruchette and House-made pasta. Friendly service as well.

Yelp
The first time we came to this restaurant was in 2001. We loved the place then. To come back 13 years later and for everything to be the same is wonderful. The food is delicious. We started with prosciutto and melon and artichokes with roasted potatoes. I requested pesto pasta with roasted chicken, which wasn't on the menu, and it was perfect. Their Panna Cotta and Tiramisu are our favorites. During the summer everyone wants to eat outside and the staff is constantly moving tables outside on a small side street to accommodate everyone's request. The place is crowded and filled with Italians.

Yelp
Get the Spaghetti Al Cartoccio. My lord. One of the best meals I had while recently in Rome. We had this same dish 8 years ago. Went back. Exactly that the same !!! There's a reason they've been there for almost 60 years. The restaurant is in an incredible neighborhood just past the Spanish steps and hidden. Via Marguta is gorgeous and quiet. Totally check this place out and its surrounding neighborhood.

Yelp
Edy in Rome - Absolutely the best Italian cuisine I've ever enjoyed. Their roasted artichokes with potatoes - brilliant & the Carbonara was to die for! We all loved it so much booked it again for tonight. Life is good this week. -- at Edy.

Yelp
Food is amazing, I had their seafood pasta with lobster and it was delicious! Lovely atmosphere at this restaurant because of a quite street location, but there is only one person serving outside so the service is way to slow.
google avatar

susan f.

Yelp
how do you get in touch with this restaurant no email address to make a reservation?

Syrah S.

Yelp
Ordered the "gnocchi with mozzarella and basil" and it was incredibly bland with ONE piece of basil and what looked like shredded supermarket mozzarella on top. Dessert I had the tiramisu which was basically soggy cream soup. We asked for the check TWICE and still waited 25 minutes after our dessert dishes being cleared before our check was actually brought to us. Not the servers fault per se however, because there were only two working for a decently sized restaurant. Definitely go somewhere else if you want decent pasta.

Declan H.

Yelp
The painting of the naked pregnant lady was a bit unappetizing. None the less the food was good. I'd recommend the bolognese.
google avatar

Kevin G.

Yelp
Our best meal in Italy so far. Lasagne melts in your mouth. Great off the beaten path location. We will surely come back.
google avatar

Keith M.

Yelp
Good meal, typical Rome food. However, the veal and lamb dishes were very good, meat not overcooked which I often find in Italy. Two fettucine dishes (one carbonera and one artichokes) were nicely done, pasta cooked perfectly. We did not have a reservation, but still got a nice table outside. The best feature is that this is a relatively quiet side street with very little traffic. Waiters were friendly enough. English spoken.
google avatar

Yelp
Cute little restaurant, friendly staff. Awesome roasted lamb and fettuccine frutti di mare. Fall-off-the-bone tender lamb + roasted potato = perfect bite! Così delizioso!

Yelp
Edy's was recommended by our local driver and we happened to stumble across it. Service was slow at first (this is Italy) but was very personable. Food was great. We both had beef dishes and were very satisfied with the amount of food and taste. Wine was good too. The terimasu was served differently from how we have ever seen it but also good. Cappuccino was ok. Over all a good experience and recommended.

Michael J.

Yelp
This is a great place for dinner with a quiet patio. Food was amazing along with the service. By far my best meal in Rome.

Rafi E.

Yelp
On a normal night the maître d' will ruin your dinner with his typical attitude... at which point the food will no longer matter...

Peter S.

Yelp
Great place. Best Italian food in Roma.

Erik F.

Yelp
Unexpectedly our best meal in Rome, especially anything to do with artichokes. Also in a surprisingly quiet location between Piazza del Popolo and the Spanish Steps.
