Lovely meal here and the house wine is delicious. The setting is lovely and very authentic. Service wasn’t very personal but everything came out in good time.

I got the gnocchi alla sorrentina and it was pretty good. My husband got the green shrimp gnocchi and he says it was pretty ok. The fries and the baked potatoes were enjoyable. I didn’t realize we ordered everything potato until halfway through eating LOL. We had leftovers because it was very filling.

Google
I ordered a lemon pasta with shrimp and asked clearly if it was made with lemon juice or cream. They said cream. The pasta had no lemon flavor. It wasn’t even salted. I had to send it back. When it came out again, they had just thrown some salt on top. Not worth the price.

Google
We had an absolutely delicious meal at Da Gigino. The pasta dishes were delicious and fresh, and the house wine was a great choice as well. One of our best meals in Sorrento!

Google
This is a cozy little spot off the beaten path in downtown Sorrento. We had the Catalana di Polpo e Gamberi and the Scialatielli Al Frutti di Mare. My son had the former, and it was his first time eating mussels and clams. He demolished it. Servers were indifferent to our presence, which is the only reason this wasn't a 5-star experience.

Google
Absolutely amazing food. Seafood risotto and the crispy octopus were to die for! Easily the best food I've had in Italy thus far. And affordable compared to tourist traps on the main strip.

Google
We were wandering around the side and back streets of Sorrento and came across Da Gigino. We tried both of their ravioli dishes, a Ravioli alla Caprese and a Ravioli Genovese. Both were good, but we both liked the Genovese better. We shared an antipasto- prosciutto with mozzarella and melon. They fresh cut the dish in the front of the house, including shaving the meat. The night we went, there were a lot of Americans in the restaurant. They do try and pull tourists and seem to be successful at it. Takes a little away from the ambiance. Some of my fellow citizens are a little much at times. Sigh...

Google
This place is a family owned business, I definitely recommend it. The service was great and the food was delicious. They also offered us Limoncello.

Yelp
After disappointing pizza at Da Franco, we came here for a napoletan pizza. And I can happily say that my stomach is happy and satisfied! Pasta-homemade pasta with seafood was ok that I would not recommend.. the texture of pasta was too al dente.. regular spaghetti noodle may be better. So glad to have napoletan pizza before heading homem

Yelp
This place was recommended by a friend of a friend. I had the lamb shop dish. It was really good. It was nice to eat something different from pasta and pizza. The waiter was very courteous. The restaurant is more of a casual place. It's a nice chill spot to pick up some good food.

Yelp
This was one of the best meals we had while in Italy. The place is small but cozy with inside and outside seating area. We decided to eat here as the place was packed with locals and best decision by far! We ordered the impepata do cozze, prosciutto and mozzarella and two gnocchi verse with provolone sauce and shrimp. The impepata was fresh and big with lots of mussels! The prosciutto and mozzarella were delicious! The mozzarella was soon good! Super fresh! And the bread basket was also super good! The gnocchi were one of the best I ever had! Freshly made and the provolone sauce..uff so freaky good!!! The service was on point too. If you are in Sorrento, check out this place!

Yelp
All the food we tried was amazing!! The service was great and the entire staff was friendly. I will definitely be back when I'm in town

Yelp
Cute little seating area, food was mid. Last night in Italy (been here for 9 days now) and could clearly tell our pasta was not fresh. Although the limoncello drinks were the size of my head so that's a win!

Yelp
One of our favorite pizza spots in Sorrento. Food is always good, family run, great outdoor seating and accommodating.

Yelp
We had lunch at Da Gigino when we were in Sorrento. The service was good, and we were very welcomed. The food was average. I can say it was one of the best meals we had in Sorrento, but it was good. We had the lunch gnocchi and it was good, but a bit too much sauce, so it felt a bit soupy. The pasta itself was very good. The street seating was great to watch people

Yelp
100% cotton napkins, it begins very positive. The place was very crowded downstairs. Apparently there was a second floor with 12-16 tables. It quickly got filled by the time we were eating our second course. Great food, nice demure service, with nice ambiance. We ate seafood with pasta. Very tasty.

Terri J.

Yelp
Friendly service and delicious food!! We had lasagna and spaghetti vongele plus grilled local fish - all very tasty. I really liked the Lasagna. Service was good and pleasant. Definitely would recommend this restaurant. Price is reasonable.

Yelp
Delicious and simple! Found this in the alley on a rainy day. Highlights: Grilled squid - so fresh it was juicing Seafood risotto - mixed with muscle, clams and calamari Linguini seafood - a red tomato sauce with the above listed 10/10 on taste and freshness and definitely coming back! The owner is a sweet older Italian man. He tried his best to make sure we weren't getting soaked in the rain

Yelp
Make a reservation and go here. One of the more authentic restaurants in Sorrento. First came here for dinner. Appetizer of tuna and eggplant tartare with cherry tomatoes and buffalo mozzarella - delicious and light. Fresh big tube pasta with monkfish and a light tomato garlic sauce - oh my god this was so delicious, we practically licked the bowl. The pasta was perfectly cooked and so fresh. Fish with garlic tomato sauce was so delicious and fresh with crispy bread for dipping. Came back for lunch two days later because we were trying to find authentic pizza. Having enjoyed dinner the night before, we knew it would be good. Arugula salad with shrimp and tomato was light and fresh. Mounds of shredded parmigiana Reggiano cheese on top - yum! Shared a frutta di mare pizza. It was crispy and thin, perfectly seasoned. Delicious red sauce and not too heavy. The fish was perfectly cooked. This is real Italian food. Having had two meals here, this is a must do if you are looking for a causal and fresh meal. *This review was part of a 10-day eating binge, I mean vacation with my mother. The summary here reflects both of our opinions*

Yelp
Second dinner in Italy and first dinner outside of Rome. After carefully searching through Yelp, I decided to come to this restaurant based on its rating, reviews, and photos. Almost every dish was fantastic. Well, all except desserts. Wanted to come back again, but had to try other places first. 5/5 seafood risotto - hands down, best risotto I have ever tasted. Shrimp, mussels, and clams. The rice was so flavorful that I wanted to cry. Really thought about ordering another plate of it to go. If you could only order one item, this would be it. If I come back to Sorrento again, I'd come back to this restaurant for this! 4.5/5 spaghetti with seafood - clams and mussels. This was amazing, but overshadowed by the risotto. 4.5/5 fried calamari - pretty good calamari. Just the right amount of batter and the squid was not hard. 4/5 Grilled fish (sea bass) - not a bad dish, but really didn't stand out compared to the aforementioned dishes. 3.5/5 lemon cake - the lemon flavor was present, but overall was just an okay cake. 3/5 tiramisu - my first time trying this in Italy. I really wanted to like it. I make a pretty awesome tiramisu myself so this was a letdown. Alcohol was a bit overpowering and parts of the cake were too wet. Perhaps this is how tiramisu is in Italy? No, it can't be! I'm sure there are better ones. It did have chocolate chips in the middle. Hmm, perhaps I should add that to mine next time.

Yelp
Recommended by our driver, Da Gigino can be easily overlooked. It is located off of the main shopping area down an alley. We arrived fairly early, around 7:30 and all the outdoor seating was full. It was full inside too but we were told to go upstairs. Upstairs was empty save for us. By 8 pm the upstairs was full too. That says something. I decided to go with a seafood salad to start. It was 100% seafood, no greens; mussels, shrimp, clams, calamari, and polpa (octopus). Everything was super fresh. I also got spaghetti con frutti di mare which was excellent. Spaghetti was perfectly al dente. Al dente is softer in the states it seems. Domenico and Fulvio alternated wait duties with both providing quality service. Don't overlook Da Gigino.

Yelp
Food was pretty good, but nothing super special. At around 6:15 pm, there were a good number of people in the restaurant already. The menu isn't too long but has pizza, pasta, meat, fish, salad. I got prosciutto and mozzarella, and a spinach side. The dish comes with a lot of cheese:) the prosciutto has a nice flavor that's not overwhelming salty! The spinach was pretty disappointing-undersalted and overlooked. The pizzas seem pretty good, but very salty.

Yelp
My Fiance and I ate here twice during our stay in Sorrento; once was for dinner and the second time for a quick lunch. Dinner service was good the first night, very crowded but we were seated in a timely fashion and the service reflected the amount of full tables. Restaurants in Italy can sometimes be a little light on wait staff during peak meal rushes so sometimes you will have to wait just a little longer. Together we got a calamari, prawn risotto and the beef tenderloin. Neither of us really cared for the calamari, however the risotto was very good and the beef was a dream. We got a liter of both of the red and white house wines... the liter pours were closer to 1.25 liter each and we ended up sharing with a nearby table as there was more wine then we could drink. Both were right in line with quality Italian table wines. Our following visit we had pizzas. Both were sizable, fairly priced and very fresh. My only complaint was both pies were pretty soggy in the middle, possibly from an overload of fresh mozzarella (which is a blessing and a curse at the same time). Overall a solid 4 stars.

Yelp
Mediocre food and service. Ordered a pasta dish (primi) which they brought out with our mixed grilled seafood as a secondi. The kitchen held the fish, but by then it was so over done that I could not have tried the squid if I didn't have a sharp pocketknife. Only saving grace was that it was not expensive. STAY AWAY!!!!

Yelp
We liked this restaurant so much we ate here twice on our trip to Italy. The service was great and the food very delicious. The margarita pizza was excellent, we ordered it both nights. I also ordered the seafood pasta dish the first night and the risotto seafood dish the second. While both dishes were great, the risotto was my favorite.

Steven ..

Yelp
Best meal i had in Italy! The wine list is super wallet friendly. Excellent service as well!

Yelp
Great place in the heart if sorento. We got the Parma ham and mozzarella appetizer, two pizzas and two part dishes. My 15 year old thought the lobster pasta was great and the pizzas were blithe delicious - I really enjoyed the bolognese pizza - magnifico! Good place with reasonable prices and an quaint outdoor seating area

Yelp
On my last night in Sorrento, I have been craving seafood and of course, being in Italy, I had to have some pasta. After doing a bit of digging online, Da Gigino had some pretty decent reviews and I had to check this place out myself! It was a busy Sunday evening and I waited for about 15 minutes before being seated. I ordered the Spaghetti al Frutti di Mare (spaghetti with mixed seafood) and a bottle of sparkling water. The pasta was pipping hot, but it was well worth it! The seafood was fresh and cooked with the perfect amount of time. I am so happy my last meal in Italy was just as I have imagined!

Tami M.

Yelp
Friendly staff and great service! Prosciutto Melone appetizer was delicious! Lobster linguine was very good! Authentic vibe

Yelp
What a beautiful place! We happened across this restaurant. The entire place is CLEAN! The waitstaff was prompt and courteous. We had lasagna, ravioli, and the red house wine. I'd come back if I had the time!

Yelp
Wonderful food and authentic feel. It was recommended by our host here and we are grateful because I don't think we would have found otherwise!

Yelp
Arrived to Italy late and we were hungry after checking into hotel. Reception recommended this place for pizza and it was a short walk from the hotel. Great pizza!

Yelp
Helpers know their stuff! The rating I'd accurate. Fabuloso service. Prices are reasonable and in line with other establishments. Artichokes were young, tender, and fresh as a side dish. Pasta, of course was quite good, just tossed in enough sauce. OM Gosh, the insalata di mare had generous portions of clams, mussels, shrimp, octopus, and calamari. All of it was so tender. No rubbery texture! Veal with the lemon sauce was well -balanced. I chose to mix in the artichokes and buttered spinach in with the veal sauce. Yummy! My friends had the roasted chicken with baby roasted potatoes. Very simply prepared and so flavorful. Ok....gotta go walk this off in the bustling streets of Sorrento. Ciao!

Yelp
Hands down one of the best Italian food I've tasted. Both pizza and pasta was excellent. Service was great and on top of everything the had the best air condition in Sorrento. I truly recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
This was literally the best pizza we had in Italy and we were in Italy for over two weeks and had lots of different pizzas I got the four cheese pizza which was crazy cheesy super yummy my friend Sherry got the margarita pizza and she loved it and my other friend Cheryl got the pizza Bolognese and hers was my favorite and this place is without question the best pizza in town -Sorrento we even got told by all the locals that they had the best pizza in town, if you're in Sorrento you should definitely go it will not disappoint! By the way everybody knows this is the best pizza in town so get there early they don't take reservations

Yelp
This was our first meal in Sorrento and it did not disappoint! I had the pasta with eggplant and it was very good!

Yelp
Sorry yelp'ers, we're not on the same page for this one. I can usually count on a 4+ star review to pan out, but I was disappointed by my visit tonight. There were five in my party, so we tried many different dishes, such as ... - Caprese Salad - Lasagne Cannelloni - Tagliatelle - Pasta with eggplant - Ravioli - Grilled Salmon - Filet of steak (w Gorgonzola) I believe that about covers it. The bottom line is that nothing really stood out. It wasn't terrible, but the pasta didn't taste homemade, the mozzarella tasted like it was cut from a local grocery, the steak wasn't seasoned, the salmon was uninspired, etc. Sorrento is densely populated with restaurants and tourists. The location for this place should have caused my tourist trap radar to squeal, but I'll claim jet lag and a day on the water as excuse. My penance is this review. Look for yourself. Be wary of the glowing 5 stars. Happy travels friends.

Jasmine R.

Yelp
This place was great! We loved the fried calamari. Our main dishes of the monk fish ravioli and the lasagna were delicious! The pasta bolognese was okay (probably wouldn't suggest this, on the boring side). The mixed seafood appetizer was good. Best dinner in Sorrento!
google avatar

Zara A.

Yelp
We were looking for a seafood place close by and this place come up! They had a lot of pictures of the seafood risotto so decided that's a must have. I wish the risotto was a little softer, it felt a little hard. The seafood was fresh and the sauce was great. Overall a good seafood dish. Pizza was yum! It was super cheesy. Sitting outside in a tiny windy street was the perfect ambience. Overall, cute place !

Matt V.

Yelp
My wife and I popped in during a shopping stroll and Da Gigino was wonderful. My wife thinks the ravioli was the best she's ever had. I enjoyed the grilled branzino and vegetables. We also shared a couple appetizers. All the food was delicious. Service was attentive and friendly and the atmosphere was also very nice. Well worth a visit.

Yelp
My husband and I decided on this restaurant based on prior reviews. The reviews were accurate in some aspects including making a reservation due to there being long lines without a reservation. This tip was very helpful for us in order to skip the line at a high traffic time, 8:00pm. We enjoyed our entrees of green gnocchi and seafood pasta. However, we found the service to be subpar. They rarely came over to us, or any other customer for that matter. When they did come over to the table they were friendly and helpful.

Yelp
I am 60 years old and eat Italian food four times a week. This is bar far the best Italian restaurant i have ever been to in my whole entire life. Let me put in perspective, I live in Beverly Hills and go to best Italian restaurants, I have been to Italy 9 times. I have gone to Italian restaurants all over the world, I have been to the best in NYC but none come close to this restaurant. Simply amazing Ps. I couldn't believe the prices, four people are like royalty and had two beers and desert and cappuccino and total bill was 61 euros Amazing
google avatar

Michael L.

Yelp
Came here via yelp recommendation and it did not disappoint. Waiter handled 12 tables outside that seem to be seated simultaneously and he got everything taken care of promptly. Eggplant Parmesan was excellent, the fettuccine Bolognese was perfect and fish and artichokes though a little bland was very good. House wine was excellent. This place has great food great value and great service.
google avatar

Connie S.

Yelp
Don't get the house wine it's fizzy and bland. The caprice was good and the spaghetti with seafood was ok. Hubbys linguine with seafood was good. Service was ok Atmosphere was ok Not sure I would return

Yelp
Came here our second night in Sorrento found on Yelp what a great place not too far from the centre of town.We arrived around 8:30 and were invited to sit right away by Giusepepe(Pepe) ,the service was excellent and the food was amazing. Fresh, homemade, and delicious. Half a litre for house wine red or white 7 euros.cant be beat! The atmosphere was lively but not too loud.

Yelp
Stumbled on this jewel in the small street of Sorrento, seems that tourists know about it. It was backed with tourists. The food was amazing and reasonably priced. We had the dishes in the photos below, all were above amazing. Only problem is that they need extra help to deal with the load. Will return for sure.

Alli B.

Yelp
Fabulous place. We had amazing risotto and pasta here and we are so happy we did. Just wonderful, homemade comfort food. The staff was so kind and truly made it a wonderful experience. They were so kind and gave us some great tips and background information about Sorrento. They treated us like family. I'm still thinking about how good the risotto was! Creamy and tasty and cooked to perfection!

Yelp
Fast and friendly service, waiters were accomodating. Food is average, moderately priced.
google avatar

Yelp
Gnocchi Verdi with shrimp was one of the best things I tried on my trip to Italy. Located in a back alley it's a little off the main streets. Totally worth checking out for a great meal. Pizza was very good as well.
google avatar

Jiyea C.

Yelp
This is the only restaurant that we dined at twice during our 10 day Italy trip. The (complimentary) bread sticks are delicious, and the house white wine goes so well with probably everything. We were tempted to ask whether we could purchase a bottle or something to bring back home. Octopus appetizer was so fresh, not at all rubbery or fishy. Highly recommend. I had my first fish-filled ravioli here (monkfish) and I liked it more than I thought I would. The butter sauce definitely made the meal. He had the daily fish special, which was a whole sea bass. Yum. Pizza is made to order in a brick oven, and if you're lucky you'll get a table right in front of it so you can watch the pizzas go in and out of it. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Siska N.

Yelp
This restaurant is tucked inside the market. If you're busy shopping around in sorrento you'll find this restaurant tucked well inside it. Like many restaurants here, it's very touristy and a bit overpriced. We ordered fish and some pasta. My fish were over cooked and a bit dry, the pasta were good enough. The service was okay nothing to remember. I think the convenience of this place earn the stars but I might have been spoiled by other food I tasted in other places in Italy before I came to this restaurant.
google avatar

Brian S.

Yelp
So after reading lots of reviews and a rating this good I thought we would try after eating down the road at Emilia the night prior. Service was fine, no issues. Food was bland. Ordered the Gnoci and house made pasta with seafood. The prawns on my meal were so undercooked they were raw; transparent. Unacceptable. Neither had any flavor just heaps of salt. The green salad we ordered as well was just straight salty ice burg. House wine was good. Overall wish had gone else well but that's traveling. Hopefully you don't make the same mistake.
google avatar

Stephanie C.

Yelp
Bomb mushroom risotto here! Take a break near the shopping allies and relax on this quiet street. Servers here are friendly and we had a nice time kicking back here.
google avatar

Danielle M.

Yelp
They were pretty good. Food was good. We also purchased a bottle of wine for 18 euros. The pizza was really delicious, the pasta was great. They didn't rush us out. There was outdoor seating or inside. We sat inside they had AC! Thank god. I definitely would go back again if ever returning to Italy. Try the pizzas, the raw ham and mozzarella was a god send. It was absolutely amazing.
google avatar

Paul O.

Yelp
Second best meal of the trip so far. We had the green gnocchi, a pizza, liter of wine and seafood risotto. Everything was great but we cannot seem to get the pizza right. I want prosciutto and we get deli ham. Damnit!!! I didn't come to Europe for deli ham on the most awesome pizzas in the world. Wine was cheap and great, risotto was a little too saucy for me and I got a very sandy clam to start it off. Overall, great food and atmosphere. The servers were very nice as well. Sweet location.

Yelp
My husband and I stopped in for pizza and beer after hiking to Bagni Regina Giovanna. We were starving by the time we got there and their pizza really hit the spot! Great service, too! The tables out front were nicely shaded, which we appreciated after having been in the hot sun all morning.
google avatar

Yelp
Great little spot for casual dining. Tip: if you don't want to people watch, ask to sit inside in the air conditioning. Also, the portions are geared towards Americans. My husband and I both ordered pasta and it was so large that even if we had split one portion, we never would have been able to finish it. Albeit delicious!
