A truly delicious meal! Their food was so authentic and tasty! Just what we needed for our last meal in Zanzibar!

The Best Restaurant in Stone Town This is the most reliable place in all of Stone Town for a delicious meal. They serve amazing pizza, plenty of seafood dishes, a great variety of food, and even desserts. We were absolutely delighted by their desserts — even better than those at the Cape Town Fish Market. It’s an Italian restaurant with a focus on pizza and pasta, but there’s so much more on the menu. The service from both the waitstaff and the chefs was outstanding. We couldn’t resist calling over the chef to personally express our admiration. The restaurant offers both a veranda and an indoor dining area. If you visit the restroom, you’ll notice a touch of good humor in the decor. The music here is fantastic, featuring classic Italian pop hits from years gone by. I was thrilled to recognize the voices of Toto Cutugno, Adriano Celentano, Eros Ramazzotti, Zucchero, Riccardo Fogli, the group Ricchi e Poveri, and, of course, Al Bano and Romina Power. It was simply wonderful! Sorprendente! Once a week, they have a special deal — order one pizza and get a second one free. On our first visit, we happened to catch this offer, and it was such a pleasant surprise! During our entire week in Stone Town, we kept coming back to this restaurant, skipping the chance to try new places. That’s how good it is! Grazie!

As a resident, I know this restaurant since their name « La Taverna » : pizza and food is honestly amazing ! We tried a chicken pizza which was the best I had since long time 😮 After that, we got beef lasagna and penne with salmon. Both very very tasty and well cooked. However, the waiter we had doesn’t really know dishes on the menu (what they contained), and I got only one WiFi code even if I was having 3 devices : that can be improved, I am not going to steal WiFi 🙏🏽 The atmosphere is really chic that is really different compared to before ❤️

Ordered a crab pasta and an arrabbiata and the food was below standard.

Me and my husband had a great dinner in this restaurant! Our waiter Farage (sorry if I misspelled the name) was so nice and attentive. We chose grilled octopus and rigatoni (pasta) with fresh passionfruit juice and cocktails - everything was delicious. After dinner I finally had coffee after two weeks in Zanzibar! My husband had tiramisu. Definitely worth a visit. Atmosphere is nice! The only problem we had was some bugs, but eventuallg they did not bother us.

Authentic Italian food nicely presented. Great menu; pizza outstanding maybe the best I had south of Italy. Wednesday two pizze for the price of 1. Noisy street and smelling from the neighborhood so I prefer the stylish interior rooms. Great waiters! Ask for the peeper mill and for the spicy oil. And for the limoncello. Really strong espresso coffee. Awesomeness.

Really bad service. We waited 50 minutes for pizza and 3 of them were wrong. We got new ones, but the dough was raw. We told them 2 times that we wanted to pay, but didn’t get a check. We had to go up to them to ask, and then one of the staff members started arguing with us, because we wanted to pay half cash and half on card. He told us that we created a problem for them even tho we told them in the beginning. Such a bad service and definitely not worth a pizza that’s only “okay”.

We had a very pleasant experience in this Italian restaurant. We came here for dinner and we were lucky that this restaurant was having a live jamming session. The food was excellent (a bit pricey though, especially for Tanzanian standards). Highly recommended.
