Very good cappuccino with plenty freshly baked options on the side. Welcoming atmosphere and good service. If you are lucky in winter some sunshine too!

Grabbed a matcha and a Swedish bakery I believed. Great customer service and the atmosphere is really chilled.

The place serves excellent coffee, and I especially enjoyed their pour-over option - it was perfectly brewed. The pastries were fresh. The space is quite tiny, with no comfortable seating for a long stay. While charming, it’s better for a quick coffee stop than an extended visit. The staff is friendly and very welcome. We will be back ;)

Overall lovely and quaint cafe…super cute and chilled with it being down a side street. Love love loved the toasted sandwiches, coffee was also delicious It was just a tad bit expensive but more than happy to pay when at such a chic little place

As we walked around, we came across this magical place! We didn't expect to find the best cinnamon bun in all of Sweden here... the bun was fresh, tasty, and soft. Yummy 🤤. Also, the sandwiches were good and I highly recommend the goat cheese... and the coffee is great too... I will definitely visit again. They have cakes and more pastries... the staff were really friend and the food was served quickly... they have vegetarian options and the atmosphere of this place was quiet and relaxed. Good to enjoy with friends and family.

Definitely the best coffee I had in Sweden. Also the barista was welcoming and seemed to enjoy her job and put in real effort for the coffee.

I used to really like De Matteo, but yesterday (around 12–1 pm) I was shocked. The café was very dirty – tables were not cleaned, and there were dirty cups and glasses with leftover food. What was especially sad was that an elderly woman was sitting at a table with dirty cups next to her, which no one cleaned up, even though the staff saw it. They were standing nearby discussing where to hang a picture instead. I’m sorry to give only one star, but I haven’t seen such a level of dirt in a long time.

Really cozy cafe with super friendly staff. They also have outdoor seating but the space inside is a bit congested if you have a lot of people waiting in queue to order. The Americano wasn't good, but the Chai Latte and Espresso were great.

Great coffee & food in a chill atmosphere! This is my go to spot every time, right right after I check into my hotel in Göteborg!

Nicely made cap with soy. Friendly baristas and reasonable prices. Espresso choices are a darker complexions similar to European espresso shots or a medium roast that's more fruity.

Best espresso based coffe bar in Gothenburg. They have several venues of which this one is the nicest. It is in a small passage between two street in a great neighborhood. There is indoor and outdoor seating here. The coffee is really good, especially if you go for their single origin bean. Cakes, pastries and sandwiches are nice but not what you should be coming here for, as they can be found in great quality all over the city.

Obviously I am not one of the hands down fan of Da Matteo in Gothenburg. Yes, the coffee is good (and you can get it at many other coffee shops around, just look for the signs) and this time it was actually hot. Goods are rather expensive (for what you get) and this specific spot is very tiny. Crowded during weekends and the outdoor seating is cute and open all year round! Wintertime you get a quilt. I had the apple pie served in a super tiny thin wooden box with vanilla custard on the side. Cracking hard but - yeah - good, you have a piece of pie and dip in the custard? When ordering it is a bit chaotic, but they seemed to get everything right. You must not be stressed out when going. Get here on a less crowded day to get the best experience. Placement of WC is stupid - you get the queue right between chairs and tables and people sitting. Not very nice - for anyone. Free wifi!

Nice little cafe. Tried a cappuccino, two fruit juice, chocolate ball, and raspberry cake with cream on the side. After walking on a shopping street, it is a nice little spot to take a break. Cappuccino design was really cute, and very comforting taste.

Da Matteo is a little independent coffee shop chain in central Göteborg. I was at one of their shops and greatly enjoyed my breakfast there. They clearly know what they are doing. Da Matteo probably most closely resembles the sort of independent coffee shops with high-quality coffee that I know from London. From my admittedly limited experience with coffee in Göteborg, Da Matteo is definitely the place I can recommend most. The staff at the Da Matteo branch that I visited were really friendly, the coffee tasted great and the food was delicious. There is not much more you can expect from a coffee shop. For sure, a place to remember when I will be in Göteborg again.

Great specialty coffee shop in Sweden. They have a few shops around and the price is very reasonable. Will definitely come back. On PAR with the international coffee scene. However the barista need to get their beans right. She might have messed up our order and what she served us.

Delicious strong coffee in a little place on victoriapassagen. Coffees offered in three sizes, decided by you. They also offered a large range of pastries, especially their 'kanelbulle' (cinnamon bun). Very cosy shop with coffee from ethiopien, very friendly staff and the best pics on top of the coffee! Like it!

Good coffee and sweet treats. It is a small place though that quickly gets crowded. If you manage to get a table though it is a great spot for peoplewatching. I particularly like this place because it is different from the usual large chain cafes but there is no compromise on the quality of the coffee.

Cozy spot, especially when you can sit outside. Great coffee and good food. My kids enjoyed watching guys get their hair cut at a nearby barbershop. Enjoy!
