Excellent attentive service, good food. Great setting. Well worth a trip! The fish of the day was excellent (sea bass). Portion sizes were sensible so you could have appetisers, primi and secondi and not be too full. Wine list was excellent. Accommodated dietary requirements well.

Google
A typical tourist restaurant. The food was average, and there was no flexibility to order anything outside of the set menu. At least they managed to bring us tomatoes and mozzarella separately, as they weren’t able to prepare a Caprese salad. The pasta wasn’t bad, the most delicious one was the lobster pasta. However, the most disappointing part was that they added an extra bottle of wine to our bill, which we neither ordered nor drank. When we pointed out that we had only one bottle, they corrected the bill without any issues. Still, it left us with a slightly uncomfortable feeling, as it could have been an honest mistake or something less innocent. The only truly enjoyable aspect was the beautiful garden and its pleasant atmosphere.

Great local food. We had for apetisers au eroine which was not so reat and 16 year old prosciuto with bread and cheese - very tasty! Maine course we had the răzbit with polenta and ravioli👌

Google
Beautiful historic restaurant in Bergamo Alta. The fresh pasta was delicious. Highly recommend their linguine ! The waiter was a lovely Spanish man who was very kind and helpful. The prices are also fair for that part of town, even though I noticed they change prices for lunch/dinner, which I don’t understand

A perfect experience from start to finish! I had the pleasure of dining at one of the best restaurants I’ve visited recently. Located in an absolutely beautiful setting, the place strikes the perfect balance between style, tranquility, and natural surroundings that make you want to linger. The outdoor area is simply stunning — spacious, tastefully decorated, and ideal for enjoying a meal in the open air with total comfort. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. The staff were exceptional: friendly, attentive, professional, and always available, making the entire experience smooth and relaxed. As for the food, it truly exceeded expectations. Every dish was delicious, beautifully presented, and made with high-quality ingredients. Full marks also go to the quick and efficient service, which never compromised on attention to detail. This is the kind of place you want to come back to — not just for the outstanding food, but for everything that surrounds it: great ambiance, warm hospitality, and a genuinely special atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Charming old place ( small hotel). I guess i was expecting better. Two types of margarita pizza, nothing special.Their USP, bread was served in a paper bag ( delicious bread). Expensive

Really nice place with extremely polite and helpful staff. The pizza was very good and they have some really interesting positions on the menu.

Yelp
This place is a nice place to visit, and I would recommend it, but way above the two euro rating. Dress nice or you will feel out of place. We stepped in one evening after sightseeing and I never felt comfortable. The food was good, but not amazing. The wait staff was very accommodating and nice and the menu was wide and varied.

Yelp
Two thumbs up. Delicious fresh cuisine served in an ancient part of Bergamo. Salami pizza was perfect. Superb local wines (Pinot nero, Barbera). Friendly staff is helpful and knowledgeable about wine selection. fresh pasta and salads. Make a reservation or show up early. A good choice for dinner in the old part of Bergamo, Italy.

Yelp
Food: 3.5/5.0 Service: 3.5/5.0 Value: 3.0/5.0 Decor: 3.5/5.0 Overall: 3.5/5.0 Nice spot on the hill. Decent pizza and other items I tried were good too.

Yelp
Great place in the old city of Bergamo, highly recommended for dinner with a group. We had a large group (12) dinner at Da Mimmo with our Italian colleagues and it was fantastic. Since we had a larger party, we were seated at a large table somewhat enclosed from the rest of the restaurant. Our group ordered quite a few starters, I can recommend their cheese plate, their cured meats plate, and a dish the egg and polenta (the name escapes me). For my entree, I went with the lamb chops which were extremely good, and I finished with a Muscato Parfait dessert that was sublime. Highly recommend the Muscato Parfait.

Yelp
I really wanted to love Da Mimmo, but it fell just a tad short for me. 1) The location of Da Mimmo is very central and easy to find. The inside of the restaurant is very nice and the has a nice atmosphere. 2) Service was okay. We had reservations toward the end of lunch service and it was very noticeable that they wanted to get us out of there as quickly as possible. The waiters were very nice, but seemed a bit distracted (also probably because of the timing)... after we ordered, the waiter brought us a bag of bread that contained one small slice of bread for both of us. I wasn't mad because I honestly didn't need anymore bread this trip, but it was funny. He said he would bring us some more... and he did, a few minutes before we got or check. 3) Food was good but not spectacular. The pasta was perfectly cooked, but very fatty and very salty. I got the rigatoni "amatriciana" -- which was there take on my favorite pasta dish. The ration was about 1/3 pasta, 2/3 bacon. The fattiness was overwhelming. I also got the rabbit--which was extremely dry and over cooked, but the polenta was the best I've ever had. My sister had a ravioli dish that was very good but was missing just a little something. Her second course was the braised beef. Perfectly tender but lacked flavor. Overall, it was good, not great. I think that perhaps we just ordered the wrong thing and I would be willing to give it a second shot if I lived close by, but unfortunately, don't have that option. Overall, I think if you have a few days or more in Bergamo, definitely worth eating here, but if you only have room for one meal, it's going to be a toss up. Reservations are a must.

Yelp
My husband and I were reminiscing on our April 2019 trip and this restaurant is one of the shining stars. Not only was the food incredible but it was the absolute warmest welcome we have ever had. The house manager was so attentive and even spoke French to accommodate my husband and I. We think about this restaurant often and are desperate to go back. Best restaurant we have ever been to in food AND hosting.

Yelp
Incredible restaurant. Lines going out the door on Thursday night when I ate there. I had the Zero Kilometer Plate and the unique Bergamo ravioli referred to as casoncelli. Great wine list and fantastic service. No relationship but as good if not better then the Baltimore Da Mimmo. Excellent Price/Value relationship. A must visit when in Bergamo (Old City).

Yelp
What a nice place in La Cita Alta Bergamo. It's a very small place, causy and authentic. They have a fresh pasta in their menu and you can buy many of their products. They have some gluten free options and the service was good and fast!

Yelp
Good sardine tart for starters and pizzas. Looks dressy but you don't have to be dressed up. Good service. Really great location in the upper old city of Bergamo. So much history around here! Very reasonable prices. We didn't need a reservation but they do take them. Don't miss this place.

Yelp
One of the top evenings out of all times. The service was excellent, the food was even better. (And Mimmo was in the lobby greeting people, nice touch). Everything that we tried was surprising, enchanting and very high quality. This was a chance encouter; now we plan to go again in Bergamo; the only reason we even were there was a plane connection.

Yelp
Perfect service and excellent food. In the heart of Bergamo. You have to try the Parma ham with Buffalo mozzarella, simply amazing!

Yelp
We were told by many that this was the best Pizza in Bergamo. Since this was are only pizza I can't comment on that. But I can tell you it was really good. It started out with A glass of Prosecco served immediately after sitting down. The service was good and we really enjoyed our lunch.

Yelp
Stopped here for lunch on a day trip to Bergamo. They have a very diverse menu, which is reasonably priced. We were quickly greeted at the door and shown to a nice table for two. The restaurant was pretty busy for Saturday afternoon and the waiter brought the menus and explained specials. We ordered and withing 15 minutes had our drinks and meals. The food was very good (tagliente ragout & lunch special with polenta), both were quite flavorful. We scooted out as they were closing for the afternoon but would have loved to stay for dinner. Very good restaurant, great service, and good prices.

Yelp
We were at Da Mimmo for lunch last week. Foods and Services are excellent as all reviewers mentioned. However, PRICES are even better. Yelp described them with 4-dollar-sign as expensive. Truth is the price is absolutely more than resealable. I fed my family with less than $10 euros per person. Bergamo Old-town is 10 times better than Milano. You must visit Bergamo and drop by Da Mimmo for pizza. Please see picture of menu.

I visit this place at least once when I am in town. Food and service is fabulous. A must visit place in town.

Yelp
We ate here for lunch. The menu offers a huge selection. We had a little if everything. We enjoyed appetizers, pasta, pizza and great wine. Our server was accommodating. We we're too full for dessert, but I could see the dessert chef preparing plates. Looked very good. I recommend the outside seating.

Yelp
This was the best meal I had in four days in Bergamo! My 22 yr old son and I were there for lunch on a February Monday. We thought we would go to the upscale restaurant on one side of the street but went to the cozier shop/restaurant across the street. Be aware there is "cover charge" per person added to the bill but Italians don't expect a tip. The staff is very helpful - when I asked if the paste e fagiole soup was a main course size the waiter said yes and when I looked disappointed he asked if we wanted a smaller portion. We weren't incredibly hungry so I immediately said "yes please ". We ordered the vintage sounding fizzy drinks: chinotto and limonade. The first is a really unusual taste, more bitter than sweet, very italian. Bread came to the table, four slices in a paper bag! Not what we were expecting but WHAT BREAD! Great flavor, chewy texture and lightly crunchy crust -yum! Then the first course of vegetable patties (polpettine di verdure) four plump patties breaded and fried - two with root vegetables and two with brocolli and spinach. Both fillings were very tasty and smooth. Then the soup- so clearly homemade with love. Thick, full of vegetables, herbs and of course pasta (small soup type) and creamy beans. Even the half portion was a very filling first course. My son had the local small stuffed pasta: casoncelli in a butter and bacon sauce, which he thoroughly enjoyed. I had tagliolini (thinner noodle than tagliatelle) cacio e pepe: very creamy thick cheese and pepper sauce, but just the right amount to coat the pasta, not drown it! The bill was €42 which I felt was great value for money given the very high quality of ALL the food. The only drawback: no room to move! I got (lightly) bumped multiple times during the meal. Not surprising given how relaxed the atmosphere is and the really tasty food. Go for lunch or make a reservation for dinner. We were too full for dessert but they looked exquisite!

Yelp
I'm so sad about this place. This was the first restaurant I ate at during my 10 day trip to Italy and this was by far the best meal I had. I'm sad because it set a high bar that no other place could even match and I only ate there once because I thought I would for sure find other equally amazing restaurants. The service was stellar. I came in during a horrid rainstorm. The town and the restaurant were mostly empty. The server sat me, got my water and wine order, and left me to peruse the menu. I noticed they had pizzas, but it seemed a little fining dining-ish for a pizza place. I wound up ordering the handmade macaroni with eggplant. The macaroni wasn't like ours, but was delicious and fresh. The dish also had olives, tomatoes, and possibly a hint of anchovies. So very good. I also got a side salad which was giant and some local wine. A great meal that wasn't too expensive. I'm still disappointed that I didn't go back there for dinner.

Yelp
Impeccable service and incredible food at a lovely restaurant. Started with the Zero Kilometer platter, a tasting of local items, including one local cheese with honey and another as a fondue on incredible polenta, thick sliced local salami, and toasted homemade bread with rosemary and whipped bacon fat (incredible). Then Bergamo raviolu, with a meat mixtue and slathered in butter, sage and lardons - bursting with flavour and rich without being heavy. For me, this is a must - go in Bergamo.

Yelp
Absolutely huuuge and bustling restaurant that's clearly built on the reputation of this family business that set up shop here in 1957. The grand matriarch still sits at the front reception looking after the takings :) Clearly popular with tourists and locals alike, Da Mimmo prides itself on pizza, promising the classic, unchanged recipes first devised 60 years ago. And yes, they certainly serve good pizza. Prices are towards the higher end for pizza and the service is a little on the formal side, but Da Mimmo is a solid choice when exploring the plethora of eating options in the old city.

Yelp
Love it. Every time I come to Bergamo I go to DaMimmo. I get the same thing too - pizza and local Bergamo pasta - and love it!!!! I usually came for work but my wife and I came to see the under-publicized city of Bergamo. Was not disappointed. Highly recommend a visit

Yelp
Waited for an hour to get the dishes we ordered (and the place was only quarter full). After such a long wait the dishes arrived and it turns out they forgot 2 of the dishes. And the food was not anything to write home about. Most disappointing.

Yelp
Excellent service with excellent food, not over priced! Complimentary glass of prosecco doesn't hurt to start off the meal
