Went mid afternoon so restaurant was quiet. It's small but styled beautifully, lot of really nice touches, glass ware, menus etc. Food was fabulous, best meal I've had in ages, large portions also, we were stuffed. Had pasta this time, have had Pizza before via takeout, also very good. Very friendly service. Highly recommend and I'll be back.

The pizza had an amazing taste and quality products but it was cold!! We will definitely give it another try because since it was the six nations day, maybe they had too many orders.

Here’s an improved version of your review: Absolutely the best food I’ve had in Bergamo! The dishes were served promptly and were truly stunning—10/10! While the service could have been a bit friendlier, it was satisfactory overall. The atmosphere was delightful, with simple, classic, and elegant furniture and decor that added to the dining experience. Highly recommend!

Google
The food is delicious and the portions are more than enough. We didn't have to wait for long before we were eating. The staff is very kind and and the place is lovely. Bathrooms are very clean, spacious and have a baby changer which is difficult to find in many restaurants. We will definitely come back.

Google
Food was nice. Really big portion sizes. We had the calamari and caprese salad, then the carbonara pizza and spinach ravioli. Wouldn't really recommend the carbonara pizza. It's probably the richest thing we've ever eaten, and a tad too rich for our tastes. It's kind of like eating mooncake pizza with the salted egg yolk. We kind of regret not noticing the specials written on the wall. Looks like it changes daily. What really makes this place shine though is the service. So on the ball. Speedy, friendly, and super attentive. And they also cleaned our table between courses like a fine dine place.

Very nice small Italian restaurant. Only a limited number of tables. The service is fast and the food is excellent. Can recommend going here when you like Italian food 🇮🇹

Google
Food was great! Starters - it was supposed to be chicken bites but instead it was chicken wings, they were fine. The tagliatelle beef ragu for mains was amazing! 10/10 for it. Diavola pizza was also really good. Nice red wine. Good service. Only negative is how squished the tables are. Food made up for it though.

Google
Great food, nice selection of pastas, pizzas and desserts. Large portions, great value for money! The service was exceptional. The place is small and can get very busy/noisy so booking is essential. We tried two of the pastas and the daily special dessert which was a homemade profiterole. Absolutely delicious!

Yelp
While in Dublin, we were just looking for a restaurant nearby with great ratings, and this came up. We walked in with no reservations on a Saturday night, and we got seated immediately in a very packed restaurant. It was super snug - like really close seating next to other parties. However, it was really nice and intimate, and the service here was great and friendly. We got the salad with a baked block of goat cheese, and oh my, it was heavenly. Served with mixed greens, tomato, garbanzo beans and drizzled in olive oil and balsamic. The pizza was really great too, really simple and the bread on the pizza was perfect (the restaurant has a huge pizza oven so you know the pizza here is made legit). Saving the best for last, the past of the day, which had prawns, zucchini, tomatoes with bucatini, and the sauce is white wine, but it was like a creamy red, and no complaints. This is probably the best pasta dish we've had in a while and we were so satisfied. So glad we found this gem during our short stay in Dublin, and if you're craving good Italian food, check this place out.

Yelp
Passports, visas and inoculations in order, we ventured to the wild east of Dublin 3 to meet with Northsider friends at Da Mimmo. I jest. The neighbourhood has been decidedly gentrified in the past number of years but the North Strand is still, shall we say, different. We were seated pretty much immediately and then reseated because I wound up sitting beside the door which, every time it opened, sent a cold draught down my spine. It didn't help that the door never properly closed without manual intervention. Anyway, one cocktail in and I didn't notice any more. The room was small but very cozy, service was efficient without being pushy so all good. The food was fantastic it has to be said. Italian, as the name suggests, throughout. My companion and I shared a bruschetta al pomodoro which was so moreish I was sorry we hadn't ordered one each. Two of the party opted for monkfish with pappardelle which was cooked to perfection. I had the penne with salsiccia which was superb and plentiful. A couple of bottles of montepulciano reserva later we headed back across the river sated and satisfied. We'll definitely be back, visas or no visas. Highly recommended.

Yelp
ok I can only give 4 stars because we didn't actually get to sit down and eat here. We didn't think we needed to make reservations but the place is small, so call ahead. Luckily, we could still get take away! We wound up sitting next door at a pub called Cusack's and eating there. It was an interesting variance from the rest of the touristy places we have been at, but let me get back to the food!!! So we didn't have a ton of variety, only the best Margarita Pizzas and Penne Arrabiatta that I've ever had. Seriously. ok, maybe the pizza was top 10, I'm from Chicago though and it was thin crust. It was still delicious. The penne arrabiatta though was amazing with cut up Serrano peppers. I seriously started googling recipes after we left, determined that wasn't going to be the last time I ever ate that dish! There wasn't one noodle or crust left, we devoured everything. I was a little disappointed that we couldn't have eaten there, I know there were reservations, but there were still a few empty tables when we walked by after eating. I don't blame the owner, she was very sweet, but the ambience seemed quaint and I would have liked to enjoy it. Venture out here if you're visiting Dublin, it was a short taxi ride, and although in kind of a rough neighborhood, Dublin is very safe, exactly with the taxi app, it was a short, easy trip.

Yelp
First time trying Da Mimmo and wasn't disappointed. The Pizza's are definitely the highlight of this place gorgeous wood fired pizza authentic Italian way. The pasta is nice also cooked perfectly with tasty tomatoe sauce. Reason it doesn't get 5 start is I was let down by the garlic bread it's €5 for basically two burger buns with garlic butter on top. All in all definitely recommend.

Yelp
Updating my earlier review. They're now in a bigger premises so they can feed more people, and I'm happy to say, everything is great. It's pretty snug in there when it's full, and it's full regularly. Was there last night (Wednesday night) and it was pretty full. And here's why : the food is great, and it is reasonably priced. While I normally go for their excellent wood fired pizzas, the last few times I've had one of their pasta dishes. Brilliant. Anyway - go there, it's a fantastic example of a great neighbourhood restaurant.

Yelp
My girlfriend had been trying to get me to go here all Summer. I'm not the biggest fan of Italian food (the pasta side of things, not the pizza. What kind of weirdo doesn't like pizza?). I finally relented and we made the trek all the way out to North Strand and I only wish I had done it sooner. This place is absolutely amazing. The restaurant is tiny; it could probably only seat about 12 or 15 people in total. It is nice and cozy but still well laid out enough so you don't feel like you are on top of your fellow diners. We were seated promptly, given menus and water by a friendly waitress. We ordered a small antipasto plate each, with a mushroom bruschetta and some garlic bread on the side. We were brought boards that had so much food crammed onto them it was probably unfair to describe them as "small". Cured Italian meats, olives, roasted vegetables, arancini and many more things. My girlfriend, who is a vegetarian, got the veggie platter where all the meaty things were replaced by even more delicious vegetables and other goodies. The garlic bread was a fairly hefty sized focaccia sliced in half, lathered with garlic butter and sprinkled with mozzarella. This was the most tasty garlic bread I have ever eaten. I will dream about how delicious and garlicky this bread was. Even now, I'm having gastronomic flash backs. The mushroom bruschetta was my girlfriend's (I hate mushrooms with a fiery passion). It looked nice though (if you like that sort of thing); it was piled high with various wild mushrooms. If you like authentic Italian cuisine this place is for you. As we ate, we noticed the waitresses decanting wine from a wooden barrel into a carafe. Everything about this place just seems to be the proper Italian way. There is not a thing wrong with this place and I will be returning for definite to try the pizza. If it is even nearly as good as these antipasto plates then I will be very happy.

Joe C.

Yelp
In Dublin, there isn't a huge amount of quality Italian restaurants. There also isn't a huge amount of quality restaurants on the Northside. This place bucks both of those (sweeping) statements. Excellent food, properly cooked and served. Wide range of dishes for all tastes and appetites. Staff are friendly and atmosphere is cosy, place is tiny but they pack them in and it adds to the local restaurant feel. Always busy, reserve a table if possible.

Yelp
"Da Mimmo" is the BEST Pizza place! the best Delivery I had in 12 years in Ireland. Careful...it can be addictive. You can also book a table and eat there. It's not a big place (there are 4 tables: 2 for 2/3 people and 2 for 4/6 people) but the food is GREAT; a bit of Italian music in the background, and a friendly environment Delivery can take between 40min to 1hr (depending how busy they are) but the waiting is worth it (a suggestion: ask for home made tiramisu' , available for delivery...you will thx me for that) I like the fact that when you eat there, they give you (included) a little starter made of Foccaccia bread and Peperoni (please don't confuse peperoni with salami!! when Italians say peperoni they mean ONLY this: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_jyTDU3H7U4A/TKxclAFBoxI/AAAAAAAAABg/grVJHOcZPc0/s1600/peperoni.jpeg) You can also buy focaccia there to bring home. in conclusion: as a delivery 5/5 as a place to eat: 3/5 jut because it's small (but i remind: it's not a restaurant) value for money: 5/5 P.s.forgot to mention: real italian style margerita 8€; I also suggest to try "Calzone Farcito" and "Tiramisu'"...you have to :)

Yelp
It's so good. SOOO good. It was like I had been eating styrofoam all my life and stumbled on de Mimmos and the real taste of food was suddenly revealed in all its pesto-crusted glory. And it's a grown up restaurant: You make a reservation. You relax at your table for the night. The table has room for your glass, fork, knife, plate and two elbows (quite an achievement in Dublin). There's lots of good wine and the prices don't make your eyes bleed. It's not pretentious, expensive, trendy, posh or divey. It's just what eating out used to be like before eaters became critics and before celebrities became chefs. The bottle of Sicilian wine (26 euro) was ever so slightly warmer than normal, which I loved. The waitress was SOUND. I had a vegetarian antipasto (12 euro) which was everything you'd want and more. But the red carpet and the trumpets goes to the side of wild mushrooms ordered on a whim. I can't stop thinking about them. Days later, I'm sitting on this couch in a mushroom daze, trying to conjure up an excuse to go back and just eat those mushrooms again. Damn it, I don't need an excuse. I'm going back tomorrow, head held high (and with a table reservation)

Yelp
Small Italian restaurant in North Dublin. It feels like being in Italy. You should definitely need to book in advance since it's always packed. Tasty pizzas and amazing antipasti. Friendly staff. I would strongly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for an Italian food experience

Sabrina J.

Yelp
This is a little gem. I love food....especially good food. The food here is authentic, tasty and moreish....possible even more so than the food in Italy itself. The menu is full of pasta and pizza dishes with some amazing specials. The colours, freshness and aroma of the ingredients are enough enough to make your mouth water. Would definitely recommend...if you like Italian, then you have to go here!! Amazing The size of the place is small, so I would recommend you ring ahead.

Yelp
This is a hidden gem for Italian food lovers ! Small place to eat in so prob advised to book before u go . Prawns and calamari starters are to die for , so nice ! Pizza is generally nice but the sea bass is well recommended , price wise is good , staff very friendly and they do take away also !

Yelp
I ordered pizza for collection with my friends on a Sunday night. They said it would be ready in 12 minutes. My friend hung up and we dashed to the car. Already an exciting start! I ordered the capri-something with artichokes, anchovies, ham and mushrooms. I'd recommend that. Nice and tangy/salty. The friends got simple mozzarella and tomato and one with extra anchovies. It took all my willpower not to start eating in the car. The base is so thin and delicious. One pizza per person was just the right amount. I'd like to eat in the restaurant. The deli counter has a good display of the antipasti. the restaurnat itself is small-maybe just 5 tables so you should make a reservation before hand. It was full which is surprising for a local place on a Sunday evening. I can't wait for my next pizza. Puts other takeaway pizza to shame.

Joelle F.

Yelp
The best pizza I have had!! Absolutely delicious! If you're planning on going out for food, it's a must to book the place. It's very small, with only a few tables, and can get cramped fast. Most people opt for a takeaway, judging from the traffic that goes in and out. It's pure Italian, owners and staff, and serve only Italian beer and drinks. They had a huge variety of pizza, they are great portion size, you do leave feeling stuffed and satisfied. I've recommended this place so many times and so many people know about it already. For that extra bit of a drive, it's totally worth it over any dominos/apache pizza!

Jasminka G.

Yelp
Really, Da Mimmo? I get off the bus early just so I could have a quick pizza. Only to be told that, since i've no reservation, I can't get a table. Despite of at least 4-5 empty tables. I'm going now to Forno 500, they always greet me with a smile and sort me out for the table, reservation or not.

Sarah P.

Yelp
Wow what a find! I admit living on the southside means I rarely travel across the water for many things but this is a time I'm so glad I did. Tiny little place. Probably only 7 or 8 tables in here and from the outside looks like a little greasy spoon cafe that you would walk past, but inside the smells wafting towards you are just delicious. Great selection of antipasti and main courses that I wanted to try everything but had been told areal about the pizzas so that was where my head was at. Didn't mean of course I couldn't try other things as well!! Started with the calamari and prawns and they were amazing. Succulent calamari in a light batter with extremely tasty dipping sauce. Not sure what they had done with the prawns but they were amazing. Slightly crunchy on outside but soft and tender and melt in your mouth. How was it possibly going to leave room for the pizza!! The pizza arrived and oh boy it was a big one! Topped with pepperoni and chilli and soooooo much cheese it was just out of this world. My eyes were definitely bigger than my belly and I had to admit defeat after half. Although happily I got to take it away with me and it was just as tasty the next day!! The house wine was not great but I'm willing to let that slide due to the great food. I shall be back :)

Jack J.

Yelp
I made the right choice of booking ahead for a Sunday night as the place only has space for about 6 tables. I like the size of this place though, it means that the friendly waiters are always ready nearby to explain the daily specials. Started with the calamari and the small antipasta between 4 people. The €8 antipasta was made up of very high quality meats, cheese, bread, pestos etc and plenty of it. Calamari was perfect and sat on top of a lovely rich sauce. Plenty of food for all of us. Although we were quite envious of the generous, tasty looking pasta dishes on other tables, none of us could resist ordering pizzas. They were perfect: big, thin, crispy and loaded with fresh toppings. I had a massive calzone packed with ham and mushroom, I was full about halfway through but it was so good that I kept eating til my plate was clean. Carafes and bottles of wine were very reasonably priced, coffee was lovely and strong. Between the friendly service, great quality food, atmosphere, and relatively cheap price I can't think of any reasons to give it less that 5 stars. Easily one of the best Italians in Dublin.

Michelle R.

Yelp
If you fancy Italian food and happen to be in the area then do check out 'Da Mimmo'. This place is an absolute gem. Small yet intimate, friendly staff and wonderful food made from scratch - A taste of heaven in your mouth. The tiramasu is worth getting! Oh yum.. my mouth is salivating just thinking about this restaurant.

Mark W.

Yelp
Ate here a few weeks ago with the wife and kids (fussy teens). We rang in advance just to make sure we could get a table as the place is tinchy. Its really takeaway size that accommodates a few tables. The best thing about the place is the warm friendly welcome and the beautiful display of foods. They say you eat with your eyes and if thats the case you would devour this place. The menu is trully authentic. Fresh well made Italian fare. The waitress was very attentive and the chefs where within earshot. I had the calzonne (folded pizza) which was absolutely gigantic, but seeing as im a big fellow I felt it would be rude to leave it so I ate half and got a doggy bag. I saw others being served and was envious that I had not ordered what "they where having" It wasn't cheap though for what we had but thats not a compalint simply an observation. If we wanted cheap unauthentic italian thaeres plenty of chippers about. I will definitely be back with the missus for an intimate date night!! Its always busy so this is testament to the quality of food and the service. Booking advised ;-))

Sinead C.

Yelp
If you are looking for really great, fresh, authentic italian food then this little gem is worth checking out. Fairly innocuous from the outside, not a usual sort of place Id have tried alone but a friend recommended we did so in we went, with no booking and managed to get a table for 2 and we were told it was ours until 6 as they were fully booked. Fine As you walk in the first thing you see is the fridge full of amazing fresh anti pasti, at this stage I was so hungry having missed lunch that I was drooling over the visions of griddled courgettes, sundried tomatoes, fresh pesto etc. We ordered calamari and gamberi (my friend) and the small antipasti for me to start. Ive never liked calamari but we shared our starters and I think im converted! Not a hint of rubbery and served crisp and piping hot alongside a piquant tomato sauce to dip. My antipasti was divine - a pot of fresh pesto and a bowl of focaccia chunks for dipping, Sun dried tomatoes, pickled red onions, grilled aubergine and courgette, salami and Parma ham....amazing For mains we went for risotto with speck and porcini (my friend) and I had penne Al salmon (smoked) Both were delicious although I preferred my own, the fresh tomato sauce was spiked with cream and just so fresh and tasty every mouthful was perfect A lemon cheesecake tart followed and I would go back for that alone. With 2 glasses of wine the bill came to €68. Not the cheapest meal but worth every cent.

Sibhéal T.

Yelp
Yummy yummy! Haven't been here in two years since I stopped working nearby but wow did I miss it! The place is always hammers so make a reservation The staff are so friendly and great you warmly with a smile on their faces. Good price for a date night if you are a student so lads grab your gals and bring them here!

Siobhan T.

Yelp
Great food as always terrible service and that's being kind very disappointed with our experience yesterday

Julie W.

Yelp
Went here for lunch a couple of weeks ago and it was a total surprise. Who would have thought that such a great little restaurant would be found on the North Strand. Staff are very friendly and I had a nice chat with the owner about the history of the place. For lunch I had the special which was Bruschetta and Pasta which was delicious, filling and only €7.50. The only down side is I had no space for dessert.

Guian M.

Yelp
Da Mimmo is "Da Bomb"!! A cozy place with few tables, genuine Italian atmosphere! Their stone owen pizzas are off the hook! Altough, as a student I wanna go for a pizza and a beer, this is more pizza and red wine kind of a place cause the pizza is quite pricy. Nevertheless is mos deff worth a visit!!

Tonya M.

Yelp
I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of food at this restaurant. I felt like I was back in Italy. They serve legit and authentic Italian food. No matter your food choice, you cannot go wrong. My husband and I had their wood fired pizzas while visiting. They were perfectly crunchy and thin crust with a good amount of toppings, but not too much to overwhelm the crust: topping ratio. Overall a good place to visit for Italian food. The locals rave about it as well!

Liam O.

Yelp
We live nearby. This is our favourite restaurant in the area. Exceptional food, excellent service. Only downsides are that it can be tough to get a table, definitely at the weekend. Also, there's usually kids there so it can be very noisy. Other than that it's my favourite restaurant on the Northside.

Frank K.

Yelp
They were nice enough to deliver my pizza after closing. But the bacon was completely uncooked and inedible. Other than that, it was still good pizza for the area.

Brandon L.

Yelp
The outside of the restaurant looked appealing so I made a quick decision to have my lunch there. The inside is fairly small but had plenty of room between the tables. We ordered the da mimmo penne and the lasagna and both were very filling. Both dishes were packed with minced beef and the lasagna was heated to a perfect temperature.

Sophie C.

Yelp
Lovely little Italian in North Strand, great pizza and pasta, Cheap and cheerful and casual. Good little place to stop off on the way home from town.

Aoife C.

Yelp
I've been a regular customers of Da Mimmo's for a good while now. I've loved the place and have recommended it to friends and family. This time around the service wasn't acceptable. Myself and a friend went for dinner and made a reservation a number of days beforehand. When we arrived we were late getting out table. This was not an annoyance or a problem, the family had a small child and we given a complimentary glass of wine while waiting. We sat down for a 3 course meal and a bottle wine but throughout the dinner we felt very rushed. Plates were snapped up with little time left for us to enjoy our meal or our wine. When we were ordering dessert, I asked the waitress was there a problem or when do they need the table back. She replied (rather sharply) we needed it back 20 minutes ago. I was a bit taken aback since we were never given a time when we made the booking or when we were being seated. On top of that, by her timing, that would have given us an hour for dinner. If we were told that while booking we would have arranged a different time. I would like to emphasis that the food was great as always, but service was below par. Felt like we were being thrown out of the restaurant, despite paying for a €28 bottle of wine and three courses each. We happened to be walking past the restaurant less around 20 minutes after we left and through the window we noticed that no one was occupying our table! Disappointing, considering all the great meals we've had there.

Muireann N.

Yelp
Went here last night with mother and uncle following recommendations. Very good Italian food and very enjoyable atmosphere. The waiting staff had the service level just right, leaving us with our conversations. The food was so good - the pizza base was perfect (Mafiosa) and the toppings of spinach, Italian sausage and ricotta were a great balance; Pasta perfectly cooked and gorgeous roasted potatoes with the chicken my uncle had. Desserts were gorgeous with healthy portions given - but that was okay because my uncle got to takeaway his left over tiramisu to enjoy again later. It was busy and we were lucky we had booked because they were turning people away - a healthy sign on a Tuesday evening. Looking forward to going again to get my taste of Italy

Eoin H.

Yelp
I love this popular local Italian restaurant on the north strand in Dublin. Great spot close to town with an authentic Italian feel. The pizzas are amazing however I typically go for one of the ever changing specials on the menu. Dublin needs more restaurants thus size. Excellent value and the staff are super friendly. I highly recommend this place for a slice of Italian cuisine on the North side of Dublin.

Sofia D.

Yelp
I was there with 2 friends. It was a Wesnesday evening around 8 and thank God I have called earlier to make a reservation because it was full! Very small and appreciated place, it is very noisy but it makes you feel like you are family!! We had Penne arabiata and another plate of pasta and the third dish was the vegetarian pizza, Mmmmm! EVERYTHING was excellent. It was the best Penne arabiata of my life (very hot and spicy) and the pizza crust was very light and crunchy! Perfect!! The staff is nice and helpfull and the owner of the place came to see if we were happy. I highly recommend this place.

D J.

Yelp
Great pasta and pizza it's really authentic. The atmosphere here is lovely with friendly staff, if you didn't look out the window you'd swear you were in Italy!!!

Arianna Z.

Yelp
My friends and I went to get pizza there, since a lot people recommended it to me if I wanted a really good take out pizza. The place was packed with people and there were several others waiting for their take out pizza too. It was a busy Friday evening, but we only had to wait 25 minutes to get our pizzas, which is okay enough I guess on a busy weekend evening. I would have waited a lot more in Italy! The pizzas were really good and I'll definitely go back. They also make deliveries in D1 and D3!

Eoin M.

Yelp
Da Mimmo do a great pizza. Thin base and with proper good quality toppings. In my opinion one of the best pizzas on the northside. I have eaten in the restaurant only twice and on both occasions found the food, house wine and staff top notch. Restaurant is a tiny one but I think it makes for a more personal meal. If you are thinking of going yourself make sure you book ahead as any time I have attempted a last minute bookings its been a no go.

Shauna M.

Yelp
Could not fault food or service (or wine). However it was a bit crammed... I'm dying to try the newly opened area next door, more leg room, yay!!

Elaine V.

Yelp
Possibly the most authentic Italian in Dublin. Their homemade pasta is unreal and the anti pasti is moreish. It's such a gem of a place.
