The place clearly takes a lot of pride in their food. The meat ragu was done very well with the pasta cooked perfectly. The dessert was excellent and not overly sweet and is a must order. Ask for the “Chef’s Symphony”. On top of that, the bread was also done really well. The service staff took excellent care of guests, always friendly and helpful; keeping the dining experience fun and enjoyable. You can tell they truly enjoy what they do. The place offers unhurried dining experience. I will come back again the next time I’m in Melbourne!

Returning to Danoi after 27 years was such a special experience. The food was as delightful as I remembered, and the rustic ambience wrapped around us like a warm hug. I noticed they've updated their menu since my last visit; gone are the days of the blackboard menu, but it's comforting to see how they've evolved while still holding onto their old charm.

A spectacular 7 course degustation menu - handcrafted by the chef just for us - what a special evening. Delightful service from the owner and another young lady. The creamiest, smoothest Jerusalem artichoke soup, charcuterie board par excellence - farm raised meat from the owner’s farm 2 hours from Melbourne. Duck breast, mash and chicory. Gin and pepperonata sorbet. And Mille feuille with fig and cream. Such a special dinner - a wonderful find! And the ambiance is so lovely, like sitting in the most inviting home being taken care of by a doting staff. Bravo Da Noi 👏🏻👏🏻⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I took my mum to Da Noi for lunch and we had such a wonderful experience. It was so fun to go on a food adventure featuring delicious produce from the Da Noi farm. Everything was fresh and seasonal, and made with a lot of care and skill. I’m gluten intolerant and after one too many disappointing GF pastas I usually avoid Italian food, but they were very accommodating and the pasta was a highlight. The atmosphere and service feels so old school Melbourne hospo. A great place for a special meal.

Incredible Italian dining in south Yarra, Melbourne. Small, cozy restaurant with warm, homely ambience and incredibly attentive service. Handmade pasta with fresh ingredients from the owners Sardinian farm… say no more We enjoyed the Ragu pasta and the prawn pasta. Both had good portion size and tasted phenomenal. Our only comment was that the tiramisu portion was too small, and we’d love for it to be bigger for the price. Thank you very much for an incredible dining experience. We will be back!

One of my go to restaurants for Italian food. The waitresses who were there are very helpful and friendly, she managed to explain the menu with details! The seasonal menu is also exceptional, the food was really good!! There’s heaps of wine and cocktail selections. I give Da Noi an 11 out of 10 rating for food, service and atmosphere

Loved the vibe and the intimate setting - no too many tables, so makes it feel special. Food was good - the portions are huge, so you get your moneys worth! Wine selection was nice, from both Sardinia and Italy. Service was excellent.

We had an amazing experience at Da Boi for a birthday dinner! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, ensuring we had everything we needed. The food was absolutely phenomenal – authentic Sardinian flavors, fresh ingredients, and beautifully presented dishes. Every bite was a delight! The pasta was perfectly cooked, the seafood was fresh, and the dessert was the perfect ending to an incredible meal. We truly enjoyed every moment and can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend for anyone looking for an unforgettable dining experience!

Yelp
I cannot believe there are not more review's on this fabulous Sardinian restaurant. The menu is hand written daily depending on the produce the Chefs get in. The Waiters truly know their stuff, let them recommended a wine. If available, try the Beef Tartar with Egg Yolk.

Yelp
Easy to miss this tiny shop front in Toorak Road which in a former life was Brummels photo gallery and cafe. We had an early booking as they were fully booked and were warmly greeted with offers of Prosecco. A lovely bottle disappeared very quickly. We had the degustation menu which is always a good way to get the feel of a restaurant. Many courses of antipasto arrived, small servings calamari, cuttlefish, Vitello tonnata and melanzane parmigiana etc. a small pasta dish followed, perfectly cooked spaghetti in a small mound with crab, cherry tomatoes etc, meat was a traditional Sardinian lamb stew thickened with egg yolks served with crispy roast potatoes and salad. Dolce was a delicious raspberry gelato, panna cotta and chocolate bavarois, Service was efficient and very pleasant. Highly recommended for a modern take on traditional Sardinian/Italian food.

Yelp
This a fantastic Sardinian restaurant. A very unique experience if u are will to pay around $85 a head for four courses. The food was outstanding and each new dish that came out was better than the previous one. Definitely recommend this one!

Yelp
Da Noi is a sweet little Italian place on Toorak Road in South Yarra. To be specific, it's Sardinian and they specialise in preparing and serving food grown on their own farm. I had the degustation lunch in the front dining area which has just enough room for tables along each wall with a narrow aisle between. Floorboards and textured cream walls added a rustic feel. I asked the waitress to chose a wine for me and a couple of minutes later she was back with a fresh bottle of La Tense Nebbiolo. Very light, and a good start to the meal. Three dishes arrived at my table almost immediately after the wine; a small portion of eggplant lasagne, a plate with a seared scallop topped with poppy seeds on a pool of very light fresh tomato mousse, a little bowl of fried whitebait and a side of diced tomatoes, and a third plate with two slices of rare roast beef covered in a very mild tuna and caper sauce. Excellent starters, but the scallop and the beef were standouts for me. At least until the next course arrived. This was the special of the day; duck pasta garnished with shaved truffles on a creamy truffle and pecorino cheese sauce. Delicious. Next up was a piece of pork belly served on celeriac emulsion with a reduction of myrtle berries (mirto in Italian) which are grown on the family farm. This came with a side of baked carrots. Never been a fan of pork belly, and honestly probably never will be, but this was one of the better variations I've eaten. To finish, I had a lovely, soft Corsican sheep's milk cheese with an ash and rosemary rind served with apple purée, mandarin segments and almonds. Once again my waitress came to the party by choosing not-too-sticky dessert wine to accompany it - a gorgeous Sardinian white called Angelus. The five course set lunch menu costs $55 ($70 for me as I upgraded to the special of the day) plus wine. The chef here has a very subtle touch and every dish was well balanced with interesting flavour combinations. Da Noi means "our place" in Italian, and I certainly felt right at home from the moment I sat down. My definition of great service is that no matter how busy the restaurant is (and the day I went every table was full) the staff make you feel like you're the only person there. And that's exactly how the staff at Da Noi made me feel. Great restaurant and definitely worth another visit.

Yelp
Amazing atmosphere. We were tucked away in the back with a suckling pig slowly rotating on a fire. The gummy shark and honey tart were also highlights. An authentic Sicilian experience.

Yelp
Walked past this place with friends and thought it looked like a cute little Italian restaurant and it definitely did not disappoint us at all! The menu is changed daily depending on what they could get on the day, and food is made fresh daily! I had the Tortellini with lamb which was wonderful, and friends got the fish spaghetti and duck which were also delicious! Desserts were excellent too! A very pleasant experience with interesting waiters! Will go back again to try their other authentic menus!

Yelp
Valentines disaster. After almost 2 hours we still hadn't had the main course from the set menu, in fact all our food courses were delayed. When we complained we were then told that our food hadn't been ordered and was forgotten about. Usually this place is a good restaurant, it should be with its high prices, but on 14 Feb it was a disaster. One star is one too many.

Yelp
This restaurant might have been great some day in the past, but now it is simply trading on its past reputation. I invited another couple to join us for dinner. This place is brazen to say the least, in its exorbitant prices for the sizes of its meals. Amongst four of us we paid 200.00 with- no entrees, no desserts! Three of us had a pasta dish. Serves I would consider neither an entree nor a main, but more a 'sampler' size. Being italian I know there might be some work in preparing a boar ragu sauce, but pasta comes cheap-and there was little of that! You would serve your child more than what we got on each dish. As for my dish it was a snapper fillet topped with lentils and mussels. It was nearly 40.00, and I couldn't see much skill involved. The wine alone was 60.00- a hefty markup no doubt. Would I go again- no way! Would I recommend it- no way. Even if you have cash to splash, spend it somewhere where there is skill, technique, flavour, excellent presentation, complexity or even inventiveness. This place has few of those.

Yelp
Absolutely superb, one of the best meals I have ever had. Simplicity personified, with absolute freshness and sophistication at the same time. We matched Italian wines thanks to our friendly and professional wait staff. Even the coffee at the end was perfection, Caprese.

Yelp
Omg so perfect. Value for money doesn't mean inexpensive. Great food, charming staff and very pleasant ambience. My favourite.

Yelp
If you know what Sardinian food is like, and why you shouldn't expect to compare this with your 'pretty good' neighbourhood Italian restaurant, then you'll love this place. It's a Sardinian restaurant, and they do a fine job of serving sumptuous Sardinian food, some of the finest cuisine on the planet. It's one of only two Sardinian restaurants in Australia, and totally worth the journey. It's a shame I can't get to Sardinia itself more often, that place is heaven on earth.
