"This tiny joint on the Big Island serves what many consider the planet's best poke (raw-fish salad). In fact, Yelp ranked it No. 1 among America's top 100 places to eat in 2014. Go traditional with just salt, limu kohu (seaweed), and inamona (a roasted-candlenut relish) for toppings. Or opt for a more contemporary twist with anything from onions to avocado aioli, perhaps paired with a side of crisp kimchi cucumbers. Be forewarned: This casual spotruns on island time so don't expectexact adherence to business hours."

Food: Super fresh and well seasoned! We got the small poke bowl as the price is a bit high there but definitely worth trying! Their shoyu flavor is REALLY good. We tasted nothing fishy and only the balanced seasonings. Ambiance: they only have 2 outdoor seating and it’s easily got taken by family during traveling season. Service: nice and helpful. Not very easy to park as they located in a residential building.

We chose this restaurant because it had a high rating with many people reviewing the restaurant. The shrimp and tuna were very fresh, but the taste was way below my expectations. The staff was very informative, friendly, and efficient. The price is standard Hawaiian food, expensive :)

05/01/2025 (Thu) We’ve tried poke from many places across the Big Island because we absolutely love it, but Da Poke Shack stands out as the best we’ve had so far! 🌺🐟 We went a little after 10 a.m., and it wasn’t too crowded. We were able to grab a seat at one of the outdoor picnic tables, which was perfect for enjoying our meal right away. We had a poke plate and tried several flavors — sesame, spicy garlic, shoyu, and creamy scallop — and they were all incredibly delicious.🤤 Although their posted business hours are until 4:00 PM, they operate on a "sold-out, close-up" system. That means once they sell out of poke, they close for the day — even if it’s still within business hours. So it’s best to get there early to avoid disappointment!🏃=3 The shop itself is quite small, and there’s no indoor seating. However, there are two long picnic tables outside the entrance where you can enjoy your meal. The location is tucked underneath a residential building, and while there is some parking available, it’s unclear whether it's reserved for residents or open to customers — so just be mindful.🚙 If you're looking for fresh, flavorful poke, this spot is definitely worth the visit. Just remember: come early, and come hungry!🐟

They probably have the BEST poke on the island. I’m so glad we were able to go on our last day in Hawaii and we were lucky there wasn’t a big line. I got a poke bowl and they give you a lot of poke. The poke was amazing and the fish tasted so fresh. My favorite was the Shack Special. They even have pork dishes for those of you who don’t like ahi. Parking can be a little tough here. I would recommend parking on the street or by the market and walking over.

Google
I have to say this place is a insane spot for lunch and you have to go if you are looking for fresh fish and poke. They catch the fish fresh every morning and the fact that it gets sold out almost everyday before 1pm says something about how good it is. I have a shellfish allergy and made sure to ask about all the different options and the staff was super kind to make sure that there were no issues with what I chose. Make sure to get it for an early lunch so that you have the most options. I would also reccomend either walking to get here since parking is so limited.

Google
First off the poke is absolutely delicious. I got 4 different kinds and each one was unique and delicious!! The tuna melted in my mouth and the octopus was just the right amount of chewy. Now for the price, $44 for a plate which comes with 2 rice scoops, 2 sides and 4 pokes is crazy!! I shared this with my fiancé and we were still hungry after. Delicious but over priced for sure.

Google
some of the best poke i’ve ever had. make sure to go through the building to the ocean side to eat. seaweed salad and fish was amazingly fresh.

Came here to experience the quality based on high reviews. Drove 20 minutes to get here. Ordered 2 plates 88 dollars spent. We had 4 people in our group, 3 adults and 1 toddler, so I asked the lady behind the counter to gave us two paper plates. The lady simply said no and told me to tear the plates apart. She even forgot to put the sea weed seasoning on top of the rice. When asked, she reluctantly put a touch of seasoning on the rice. Clearly some bad server can ruin the reputation of a brand and her service ruined our day. In terms of food quality and freshness, honestly this place is not any better than the poke we can find in Southern California. Also be aware no public restroom and parking is extremely limited. We will never come back again.

Yelp
One of the BEST POKE IN THE STATE!? I have tried poke from Oahu to Maui to finally the Big Island and while I've had a lot of good poke this was drool worthy after landing back in the mainland. Must order: all in the name, their shack special is an absolute MUST. It has this perfect hint of sweetness from the honey to offset the salty and spicy. Also the clam and scallop poke were delicious! I was amazed by how there was not a single speck of sand in the clams which I always fear when eating clams in general. The rice is the good ol short grain and the mac salad was fresh and creamy! I was so sad that the hours are so short and they're not opened on some of the days of the week or else I would have made the hour drive and ate here every meal! Highly recommend! Also huge plus it's right next to the beach!!!

Yelp
Decent poke spot with outdoor seating and dedicated parking lot The fish here was fresh, but we preferred the seasonings and flavours elsewhere. Here they felt over seasoned. Whether it was too sweet or too salty, the seasoning did not feel balanced. The warm rice is really nice though!

Yelp
It's time for an update on one of my all time FAVORITE poke joints on the Big Island......Da Poke Shack! If you ever find yourself visiting the Kona side of the Big Island, if you love poke, Da Poke Shack should be numba #1 on your list! If you stop by here, garans you'll get da freshest island poke!!!! Da Poke Shack has quite an impressive Poke selection. You may wanna do your Yelp research, before coming here, that way you'll be ready to get your ordering on. The poke prices have come up a bit since I last came here, but hasn't everything gone up quite a bit, especially the last 4 years? Inflation is killing us all! The day I came here, I ended up getting a poke bowl with spicy garlic ahi, taegu, kim chee, & brown rice. To wash down my poke bowl, I got a bottled water. All of this plus tip set ya back $23 bucks and some change. Considering it fresh poke (not frozen), the prices here are very reasonable (as compared to prices on Oahu). Da Poke Shack is more of a grab & go kinda joint. There is very limited seating if you choose to dine here, but they do have two large covered picnic tables by the front entrance of the shop, as well as a small bar type table inside the shop. Service here is friendly & on point. If you do come here, may I suggest you go early (like when they first open), as they get supah busy here! Da Poke Shack does not take cash here (see my pic of the sign by the entrance), cards only. There is free parking in the private parking lot, but parking is very limited (another reason on why you should come early). If your a fan of fresh poke, Da Poke Shack has got ya covered!

Yelp
Lunch in Kona, Big Island, Hawaii... My friend had this place bookmarked, so I drove her here. It has high ratings, so it looked promising... Poke Shack has free 15-minute stalls in the front. It's basically a takeout only place with some picnic tables and benches for convenience. I had to eat standing up inside the shop because outside was too humid, in my opinion. Service was efficient. The gal spoke quickly, so I had to have her repeat a couple of times. I got the Poke Bowl for $18.25, and my friend got the Poke plate for $35. I'm kinda picky about Poke. The Shack Special was a bit too sweet for my liking. The Wet Hawaiian was better for me with some slivered onion. The shredded, picked daikon with carrots was refreshing! Overall, it was an alright experience.
google avatar

Yelp
The service is very quick expecting you to have some sense of what poke you want. The ambiance is very "get in and go" with tables outside for eating. The food was very good with the Shack Special being my favorite Poke I've ever had. The shrimp was my second favorite so definitely try that out as well! This plate made this snack an easy 5-star for us. The Kalua Pork was also pretty good with a bit more saltiness than I'd like. It was a decent alternative for folks adverse to raw fish but this doesn't seem like their speciality.

Yelp
Poke by the beach? Say less. Was able to stop in on a sunny day to get poke for lunch. There wasn't a line when we went, so we were in and out. Fresh fish, amazing toppings/seasonings, some sides and rice? Not sure what else you need. Can't remember what we ordered, but I know we enjoyed every last bite of it. Love the options and portion size. Don't forget to grab a drink with your poke!
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious poke!!! It's a really small store with limited chairs/tables for dine in but it doesn't matter because you can literally get poke and eat it by the ocean. They have a 2 scoop option which was nice compared to the other poke places. The fish was fresh and everything was delicious. Only issue is it's a little bit pricey compared to others. The store is located in an apartment complex so 15min parking only and it's very limited. Also have unreliable hours (closed Sat/Sun) but online it says they're open 7 days.

Yelp
Since our first lunch on island this time around was poke, seemed fitting our last one would be as well especially when I can enjoy it on my room's oceanfront lanai. There is no ambiance at all on site so getting it to go to enjoy on the beach or back in your room is the way to go. The poke plate is up to 4 choices of poke with 2 sides and 2 scoops of rice. I recommend Da Shack Special and Wet Hawaiian and you can never go wrong with Shoyu. I was not a fan of the Dry Hawaiian however. They had limited sides that day and not what I had my heart set on so just went for the normal seaweed salad and cucumber salad. Once you have had poke in Hawai'i, it really does spoil it for all those Mainland poke spots that has popped up over the years. There is something about using the freshest fish and knowing how to marinade and coat those choiciest pieces so you don't need those toppings for flavoring.

Yelp
I was so excited to try some local poké while in Hawaii and this spot was easy to find, plus highly rated on Yelp. It was definitely busy on the Tuesday we went for lunch. They have a small parking lot that was almost full on our visit. To-go is the only option and there are a couple of tables outside. We found a picnic table right at the beach and ate there. Our poké bowls were so good and so filling. I couldn't finish mine. The spicy options definitely pack some heat- I was impressed. My husband devoured his bowl. I wish we lived here so we could go more often!

Yelp
Da Poke Shack is such a unique place -- by far the best poke on the Big Island if not the world! The fish is incredibly fresh and their poke flavors are all delicious. My personal favorites are the Wet Hawaiian (more standard style poke where you can taste the freshness of the fish) or Pele's Kiss (nice if you prefer a mayo mix). If it's your first time ordering here, I recommend getting the plate and trying four different poke flavors so that you can see what your favorites are. Parking is limited and there's usually a line when they open at 10am. But it's totally WORTH IT! Closing time is whenever they run out, so keep it on the earlier side of the day if you don't want to be disappointed. There's only outdoor seating and it's like two picnic tables so I recommend walking a hop and a skip over to the beachside and enjoying your poke overlooking the ocean. Definitely worth a stop if you're on the Big Island, and honestly...you'll be back for more!

Yelp
Tasty and fresh poke! Generous servings of fish in their poke bowls. The only thing I didn't like was that their rice in the bowl was hard and crunchy. Most likely I'd just pick up the poke and use fresh rice at home next time.

Yelp
So good we went twice over the span of 3 days on Big Island! We came in around 2pm our first time and only had 1 party in front of us and around 10:15am when the line nearly went out the door. When you come by, there are a handful of parking spots with 15 minute time limits though it didn't seem to be strictly enforced. When you order, you pick either the poke bowl or poke plate which is twice the amount of the bowl, slightly less than 2x the price. For the bowl you get to choose 1 side and 2 poke, with the plate you get 2 sides and 4 poke. Both come with either brown rice or white rice and you can get furikake sprinkled on top. My favorite was the garlic spicy poke but I think overall it was a touch salty as every visit left me extremely thirsty. Overall recommend and would visit again when I'm in the area!

Yelp
This was my first stop on the island after getting off the plane! I've heard amazing things and was super excited to give it a try. It didn't disappoint! It's a small establishment, as there are only two outdoor tables for seating but it's a great place for grab n go. The poke options and sides are all displayed with helpful descriptions of their taste profiles. I ordered a poke plate with brown rice and sides of seaweed salad and macaroni salad. For the poke itself, I got the shack special, shoyu, and wet Hawaiian along with garlic shrimp. Everything was absolutely delicious. The poke was so fresh and the flavors were all perfect. I couldn't pick a favorite. Possibly the best poke I've ever had!
google avatar

Yelp
This place is perfect for grabbing food to go before heading to the beach. Even though our broken English led to some mix-ups with the order, it didn't matter--everything was delicious. The only downside was the portion size options, which were either too small or too large. Maybe that's just because I didn't know better. Still, as my first poke experience in Hawaii, I was completely satisfied.

Yelp
After a failed beach outing due to the weather we stopped by for lunch. I would recommend coming early because it looks like they sell out of things pretty quickly but there were fortunately enough options for us to be happy with. Between the three of us we shared a poke plate (which is massive by the way and totally worth the $35) and some extra poke on the side. The plate is a great way to sample a variety of their poke and unique sides such as kimchi mussels and octopus. They had already sold out of several of their poke flavors so we just ordered one of everything that they had left with a separate order of shack special on the side. Of the ones we tried, the shack special stood out the most to me! There are a couple tables outside and the parking lot is super tight, so I'd recommend grabbing your poke and enjoying it at a beach nearby. If it wasn't raining, we would definitely do the same! This place is pretty popular so the line may seem intimidating, but they do their best to move the line along. One of the best poke bowls/plates I've had!
google avatar

Yelp
SO good fresh poke split a poke plate with one other person and we were full most of the day! Shack special was the best one by far, spicy tako also very tasty
google avatar

Yelp
If you're looking for the best poke in Kona, this is it! We loved it so much we had it twice during our week stay in Kona. For a bowl (~$19) you can choose one side (I got seaweed salad) plus rice (brown or white) and 2 poke (I like the shack special and shoyu but they have other options like spicy creamy too). Come early they open at 10 and do run out later in the day. Easy free parking lot.

Yelp
When in Hawaii.... Great place to poke! Great options for poke and toppings, my apologies I was drooling and so hungry I literally said to the lady working behind the Yes Yes and yes.. It hit the spot, husband and I sat outside and devoured our poke. Several picnic tables outside. Limited parking but we didn't have issues finding one. Overall it was great! If you're in the area and needing a quick bite grab a poke and hit the beaches near by.

Yelp
This is the best poke I have eaten. Ever. My husband had eaten here on a trip 7ish years ago, and it had remained his top poke ever - so naturally we came back here on our trip. His sentiment rang true - this was the best poke ever, and it had ruined me for all other poke because it doesn't even begin to compare. All of their fish is fresh caught, and you can definitely taste the quality of it. Delicious ahi. This place is pretty much busy from start to finish, and even though it says closed at 4pm, they're really only open until they sell out - which they pretty much do every day prior to their actual closing time. Definitely recommend coming no later than noon to ensure you get your poke and you have plenty of options to choose from. Line can be long, but they are efficient inside so be prepared with your order. The poke plate is the way to go - $35 for four scoops of poke, 2 sides, and a generous serving of rice. Great deal for such good poke! Macaroni salad is a must for a side, and the fried rice is a delicious option. All of the ahi options are delicious - loved Pele's Kiss and the Shoyu Poke. They don't have indoor seating, but they do have a few shared picnic benches outside if you want to eat there. Otherwise, it's well-packaged so you can take it to go and eat it elsewhere. Came here multiple times on our trip. Highly recommend coming here.

Yelp
One of the best poke bowls I've ever had. The shack special is life changing. Uniquely sweet with tangs of honey and salty goodness. Pick up a bowl and drive 1 min down the road to Pāhoehoe Beach Park and enjoy with the sound of the waves
google avatar

Nathan P.

Yelp
We came because it was highly rated and on the way back from the coffee belt. It was towards closing time and they didn't have too many options. Got a 1/2 lb of shoyu. It was just ok. I've had better, but it could be just this batch, since this place is highly rated.

Yelp
There are a ton of reviews for this place, and the ones that say this place is hella good are right. Food: We went to Da Poke Shack on our fourth day in the Kona area, eating poke once a day, and so far it's the best we've had on this island. We got a plate for two of us to share, and it was the perfect amount. You do NOT want leftovers; eat it fresh. Speaking of fresh, the fish was super fresh and the flavors were really good. Our favorites were the Shack Special and Pele's Kiss. Shack Special is exactly what I want in poke. I wanted to try the Hawaiian, but at ~1130 on a Thursday they were sold out. The other two flavors we got were Wet Hawaiian and Spicy Garlic. If/when we go back I'd skip the Wet Hawaiian. It was good but my least favorite of the ones we got. Might skip the (not very) Spicy Garlic too just to try another flavor. Parking/Ambiance: The parking lot is tiny (15 minute time limit for the spaces) and it's called a shack for a reason. It's in a building, but it's a small place and can get crowded fast, so go early to avoid things running out and not being able to park in the lot. The only place to sit down and eat are a couple of picnic tables out front. Service: Service was efficient and friendly, but to keep the line moving I highly recommend knowing what you want before it's your turn to order. There was only one person in front of us when we got there, but by the time we were finished paying the line was to the door. The person taking orders was nice, but I could see how she (or anyone really) would get a little impatient if there was a line to the door and the person who was up next was still hemming and hawing about what to get. If you're still deciding, let someone else go. Ordering is pretty simple. -Pick bowl or plate. -Pick white or brown rice (I recommend getting the nori furikake seasoning). -Pick your side(s). 1 for bowl, 2 for plate -Pick your poke. 2 for bowl, 4 for plate If you're on the Kona side of the island, it's worth a trip to try it out!

Yelp
Fantastic poke! Quick and efficient service! What more can you ask for!?! The only downside is that there's only two benches if you want to eat here and parking is limited (not many spaces). But don't let that deter you from eating here. We ate here twice and would've came back more often if we had more time on the island!

Ashley H.

Yelp
The poke here was really fresh and the sides were really delicious. I will say that personally I thought the sauce poured onto the poke was a little over powering. It took away the flavor of the actual fish. But the overall quality of the fish was a 10/10.
google avatar

Jay H.

Yelp
Damn first stop and it's a hit. Little spot with outdoor seating but the most important thing is the poke that is super fresh and delicious. Dont miss out if you're near here.
google avatar

Esther M.

Yelp
Did not disappoint! The fish was super fresh, had no fishy smell. The best thing was the tako/octopus to be honest. It was so tender with the right amount of chew. We got here the first day we arrived to Kona. Luckily, it was around 1pm on a Wednesday so when we got here they still had poke in stock. We tried going back on Sunday but they were sold out by the time it was 12pm so please make sure to get there early if you go there on the weekends. I shared with my bf and it was good portion for both of us. Everything we got was super delicious and most importantly fresh. I typically don't rave about the seaweed salad but omgosh the seaweed salad here was the best I've ever had in my life. Something about the seasoning, it was so good.
google avatar

Liz F.

Yelp
We popped in here around 1:30pm and they were pretty low on options already. Overall, good though! Pretty standard poke spot and prices a little steep, but normal for this area. We ordered bowls with rice and two scoops of poke. The shop is tucked into the side of a condo building and has a few picnic tables outside. The staff working were fast and to the point.

Yelp
My favorite place to eat on the big island. Hands down. I recommend this place to everyone I know. I can honestly say when I come back to visit I eat da poke shack once a day since the poke on the mainland is just not the same. Service is quick as long as the people in front of you in line know what they want. When the tourists come in waves, it can take a long time. But the staff try to get them in and out quick which I really appreciate. Some tables right outside in the front if you want to eat there, but I recommend picking it up and driving 5 min down the road to eat it at the beach. Please don't stop what you're doing. And I'll keep wearing my "da poke shack" merch with pride
google avatar

Brandon W.

Yelp
I ordered a Poke Plate, which included four scoops of poke. My favorite was wet Hawaiian because it was marinated in shoyu and included limu. My second favorite was Shack special, it was shoyu and a sweet flavor. My third favorite was shoyu. The Hawaiian was not marinated and was mixed with limu, so I ended up moving the plain Hawaiian in left over shoyu and ate at the end. I shared this poke plate with my SO, it's enough for two for lunch. Parking in the lot could be difficult, I waited on the street to watch four cars playing a game, cue the Benny Hill music! There are a few spaces on the street. I Highly recommend this place
google avatar

Yelp
This humble little place may not look like much and when it comes to poke on the Hawaiian islands, there's probably multiple shops on each block that you are able to get it at. Let me tell you the truth though, you're not going to find better poke anywhere on any of the islands than at Da Poke Shack! Their portions are large and the variety is amazing. The service is quick but make sure you go early as a lot of their famous flavours will be sold out by the time you get there. The tuna is super fresh and my favourite one is the shack special of course with sweet hints. If you're into spicy, make sure to try Pele's kiss. Da Poke Shack not only offers tuna poke but other seafoods as well. I really enjoyed the spicy scallops. Just to note that they offer a side dish and the best one in my opinion is the spicy crab salad...can you tell that I enjoy spicy? You could opt for the classic potato and macaroni salad that Hawaiian restaurants love to offer!
google avatar

Yolanda M.

Yelp
Fast service and fresh poke! You can definitely taste the freshness. They close at 4 pm so make sure you arrive early. We came a different day and they had sold out. The taste and freshness definitely explains why they sell out. I recommend you get your poke to go and enjoy it at the beach. There are only a couple of picnic tables located directly outside of the restaurant if you plan on eating there.
google avatar

Yelp
Da Poke Shack is the real deal man!! Fresh real poke served to locals by locals. This stuff is fresh. Served with a soup nazi attitude. "What do you want" "What's your side?" Pro=tip, get a table in the shade first and then order. Love this place.

Yelp
This was 1 out of the 10 the restaurants on Hawaii that I would ever recommend and return to. 1. They were open when they said they were going to be open 2. The food was good! From fresh poke to cooked kalua pork. 3. The price was really good compared to the other restaurants we've been to that overcharges. 4. The tiny place had AC! Thank the lord, super nice while you wait in line. 4. What I had in my mind of that "Aloha" spirit I definitely agree with other yelpers about this location being hard to locate. I was driving from the south direction and so I really couldn't see their restaurant that was facing north. I would recommend to others if they're driving from the south, to drive a little bit past where google said the restaurant was, and then u-turn and you'd definitely see it then. Parking was also little to non-existent so have a buddy to stay in the car while you get the food. I went a little bit after they'd opened and there was a few people ahead of me. Despite the line, I got to order within 15 minutes due to the great system they had. I ordered the poke plate, 4 diff poke to choose from and 2 sides. You can hear the female employee asking every customer "pick 2 side from the top row, and 4 choices from the bottom row", the bottom you can visually see through the display case the different poke. All 4 poke I chose were great and even though the spicy muscle side was a bit salty, it was still tasty. I also got the kahuna plate with kalua pork and lau lau, both porks were tender, tasty, and perfectly salted. I doubt we'll visit the big island again but I will recommend this place to friends.

Yelp
I have been here twice and it does not disappoint! The staff is friendly and helpful. The place is small but is clean and there's picnic tables to sit and eat at. The food is absolutely delicious. The fish is fresh and each option I've tried is super flavorful. This is a must try! Worth it!

Yelp
Fresh food, friendly service, and sometimes long lines. It is literally a shack on the side of the road, but very popular with locals and visitors alike. No ambience.
google avatar

Ada Z.

Yelp
Small parking lot. We ended up parking on the side of the road and walking over because there weren't any spots. There was a long line inside too, so we ended up waiting 25-30 minutes for the food. We ordered their poke plate and kahuna plates. The poke plate was very fresh. The shack's special was our favorite, but we found their poke a bit less flavorful than what we're used to back home in Cali. The Kahuna plate had both lau lau and kalua pork. The kalua pork had a nice smokey taste to it, but the lau lau was a bit bland and dry. We heard some locals say that it was the best poke spot on the island. We did think it was good, but it was pretty pricey. Closer to 4.5/5, but I rounded up.

A definite must stop when you're in Kona. I saw many TikTok's raving about this place and had to check it out. They open at 10am and we got there at 10:30am with a line out the door. The line moves pretty quickly, but the parking lot is very small. They are constantly making fresh poke. I had the bowl, which had two poke options and one side with rice. The plate is double the portion size. All the poke was so good and the Mac salad was amazing. The customer service was great as well and they moved as quick to get everyone's order. There is no seating inside, but they have limited outdoor seating. I wish we had found this place earlier in our trip as I would have come multiple times.

Yelp
Love this place! Recommended by a local, this was some of the best poke I've had. Arrive early, the line is out the door by noon, and with good reason. No frills, and seating at picnic tables, but it's all about the amazing poke.

Yelp
Fresh & delicious poke that you can order as a plate or by the pound. Prices are on the higher side compared to other places, but the poke is soooo fresh and there is a great variety of selection. There's a few picnic tables outside, but mostly it's a grab and go place.

Yelp
What. The. Heck. This place is a freaking gem. Had a couple of the "plates" (4 choices and 2 sides). Yes it is slightly bit more pricey than other places in town that serve poke but they do have a love of options to choose from. There are a couple of tables outside, but unfortunately we were really able to enjoy the use due to them being covered in bird "stuff"- there's also a small bench you can use watching the waves crashing in while you eat just a few steps further. I highly recommend anything that's tuna and the spicy octopus.

Yelp
Fresh and yummy poke on the Big Island! This poke was fresh and flavorful that I couldn't help but go back a couple times while visiting the island for a few days. The parking lot is a bit small but I got lucky with parking both times so I hope you will too. There are a couple picnic tables right outside the "shack" for you to enjoy your poke or you can grab and eat on the beach, of course. I got the poke bowl (~$18) which included 2 scoops of poke, 1 scoop of rice, and choice of side. I went with the spicy garlic ahi and the wet Hawaiian; both flavors were beyond delicious and had a kick! The rice was warm, soft and fluffy sushi rice topped with furikake so needless to say, I was in heaven. I opted for seaweed salad for my side and it complemented the fish and rice well. I hear the lines can get long during peak hours so be prepared for the potential of that! Otherwise, it'd be safe to visit at non-peak times. Also, they may run out of popular fish and/or sides towards the end of the day (they didn't have a couple items when I visited.) Regardless, Da Poke Shack is a must visit!

Yelp
I got a bowl with the spicy garlic poke, shack special poke, and seaweed salad. Everything was good, but I definitely preferred the shack special poke which has a sweet soy flavor. The shop is small so no place to sit, but there's some picnic tables outside.

Yelp
It's easy to miss this place as you drive down Ali'i Dr -- it's nested next to an apartment complex and definitely not near a busy part of town. But the line out the door should tell you that this is a well loved spot and indeed, we had a great lunch here. You can get a poke bowl, but if you have 2 people willing to share, getting a poke plate is the better way to go -- more choices, less pricey. On the day we were there, there were at least 6 flavours -- we got the sesame, pele's kiss, shoyu and wet Hawaiian. The fish is so fresh that we actually preferred the sesame because the light dressing showcased the fish way better! Pele's kiss is a close second but I wanted it a touch more fiery. You also get to choose some sides to go with your plate. The options are huge and honestly difficult! You can go the seafood route (octopus and crab salads), the protein route (different preparations of tofu), or the greens route (edamame, seaweed salad, kimchi). There's no wrong here, but I did love the seaweed salad quite a bit! Honestly if I live around here I would be getting pints to go. Actually even if I'm in an Airbnb I'd be getting pints to go. The seating is outdoors only and could be crowded at peak hours. If it's raining you'd be out of luck! Their opening hours are also very short and on weekdays only.

Yelp
According to the signage on the front, they are not opened on the weekends. Their website and Yelp, as well as Google states that they are. Just an FYI, if you're trying to check out the place!

Yelp
I would eat at this place everyday while in Kona, if it was open 7 days a week (They are closed on Saturday & Sunday). Get there early because they can run out of several poke flavors by 1pm. There are two picnic tables outside, so it is best to plan on taking your selections to go. Everything is fresh, fresh, fresh! I have enjoyed all of their poke flavors but my favorites are the shoyu and Hawaiian. Their macaroni-potato salad combo is fantastic! They do not accept cash payments but will take cash tips. #sturdygirlstyle

Yelp
The poke was very fresh and delicious ! I absolutely loved the flavors and you can definitely tell the fish used is high quality! It is on the pricier side but overall worth a try!

Yelp
Exactly what you want your poke to be! The poke is fresh with so many options and sides to make yourself a delicious plate! Thankfully when I went on a week day afternoon it wasn't too busy, as I read reviews it can get pretty packed. There's a small parking lot and a few tables outside to eat at. Service is quick and you're out the door ready to devour their delicious poke!

Yelp
Such an amazing local place to get poke! I felt honored to have it shared with me. The sashimi was delightfully fresh and much less expensive than other places. Mahalo for your existing.
