Loved this place! The food is great and the service was better. A shout out to our server, "Sunshine," for his excellent service and menu recommendations. The wife had the Calabash Chicken plate with wedge fries and potato salad. I ordered the Calabash Shrimp with Chopped BBQ, wedge fries, and BBQ Slaw. If we ever get back this way, we will definitely come back for seconds.

Stopped here on our way through Gaffney. Food was good. Hushpuppies were good. Ribs were really good, had a good smoke to them with a nice crust. Our waitress was friendly.

On our way down to GA we decided to stop at Daddy Joe's Beach House BBQ and Grill for lunch. We were seated quickly and our server, Marisa, immediately came over to take our drink orders. She was so personable and attentive. Marisa took our order and our food came out quickly. My husband and I had BBQ sandwiches, my older son had the special Ultimate Hamburger and the younger one had chicken strips with fries off the starter section. The food was delicious and their BBQ sauce was excellent. We even tried to find it online to purchase off their website but it was not available. They really need to bottle and sell that BBQ sauce. The restaurant was busy but not overly noisy. The decor was charming. We will definitely be back again! Oh and Marisa was just terrific! Our drinks were always full and she made sure to check on us during our meal.

Found this place on a lark & I only wished I'd found it sooner! The absolute best pulled pork BBQ I've ever eaten! The sauce they pair with it is sooooooo good! The ribs are AMAZINGGG. When I tell you they melt off the bone, they MELT! Plenty of meat & the flavor is one of a kind - Whoever their Pit Boss is, give him a raise 🙌🙌🙌 Their Baked Beans are the BEST I've ever tasted. We have ate in house once & ordered out 4 times. Take out is just as good as dining in. Dining in, there's a great vibe. They do a fresh, hand squeezed lemonade & it is my favorite drink to get when I'm out ! 💛🍋 The box of hushpuppies is such a great value too! You'd think you were at a restaurant on the coast of Virginia Beach, when you bite into their hushpuppies 🤤 The only thing I have had to say..... The BBQ slaw..... is not consistent. Taste or consistency. One day it's diced perfectly & seasoned beautifully. Another it's chunky diced & flavor is off. If you get it on a good day, it's phenomenal! Best around.

My fiancé and I stopped by on the way from Atlanta to Charlotte after seeing a billboard on the highway. Once we arrived, they were pretty busy but our server Bobby Brown was amazing! You could tell he was busy, zipping around the restaurant but whenever he stopped by our table, you would have never known as he was alwsys patient and super friendly. He never made us feel rushed or unappreciated/unattended to. The service was absolutely amazing! The bbq was really great as well! The pork had a nice smoke to it and tasted great with or without their BBQ sauce. The ribs were fall off the bone, and perfectly cooked and sauced. Recommend trying as the staff is so friendly and bbq is top notch. Thanks again Bobby Brown for adding to our visit, it was an amazing end to our weekend get away!

I would like to say this is a hidden jewel of a restaurant but that's not the case as it has a few thousand reviews already. We arrived on a Saturday night at 6:30PM busy time we were seated in a timely manner. The waitress arrived at our table within a couple of minutes to take drink orders. From this point on we witnessed some of the best customer service from all their employees with customers we have seen in a long time. We were never out of tea our waitress would check on all her tables every time she brought something out. The floor managers I would assume both of those ladies would walk to each table and ask how was everything (twice during our meal). I witnessed one of them personally bring a appetizer to the table next to us and comp the appetizer for them as she said it should have not taken that long which we thought was within a reasonable time. My point is you can eat at a restaurant and have bad service and it ruins the whole experience and makes the meal terrible. But with excellent service the meal just taste that much better. Now our meals were over the moon in taste and pourtions. Most everyone we saw had to go boxed.This will be one that we will be returning to more often as they have every aspect on how to treat customers and prepare a great meal

Atmosphere and service was excellent. However, I am big on food quality. And the pulled chicken served to us was horrible. It was Luke warm and flavorless. You can tell by the picture. And the BBQ slaw was 75% ketchup. This was our first and last time.

We had a great experience today. Staff and service were the nicest. They loved on us and our dog. Food was excellent! Could not have been better!

Great food and service. Family friendly and they serve adult beverages. Our waitress was very friendly and visited our table often with refills and always asked if everyone was pleased or needed anything else. Gave her a good tip! She definitely deserved it. It was very roomy at our table. Very clean kept. Absolutely cooler than if we had stayed home to eat our stakes and salads. Try Daddy Joe's at least 1x and you'll be glad that you did and you will go back!

Barbecue is really good on the keto diet so that was my plan for lunch today. I arrived just before noon on a busy Sunday, getting the last table in the dining room before it was completely full. After a quick look, I opted for their famous chopped pork plate with double cole slaw. I learned later that I got just about the last of the day. Yes, this is fresh and it sells out! And why does it sell out? Because it is really good queue. Moist and flavorful though I think it would have been better without the sauce added in the kitchen. I did have one nibble of a hush puppy. Light and fluffy and just a little greasy. Very, very good. And not keto so I skipped the rest. Overall, really good service and great pork that doesn't need the sauce. Came here for lunch and it was busy but we were seated right away. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Staff was attentive. Food came out hot and fresh. The shrimp was tiny and crispy. The chicken was tender. Coleslaw was delicious and potato salad was creamy. Great place to eat and prices were great.

Very mid food. Basic dishes nothing spectacular or considered omg this is good.. Service was good id even say great. Prices wasn't bad.. The look was interesting and had me looking around.

My daughter and my youngest grandson and I had lunch here today. How do you spell PERFECT? Easy! As our experience here was just that! Although the restaurant was crowded as usual, we got seated promptly. A high chair was provided for my grandson. I had a combination platter of wings and ribs and double fries along with complimentary hush puppies! I was completely in another world as I dined. This was the absolutely best meal that I can remember! I'm not even positive what my daughter ordered. Everything went smoothly and couldn't have been more perfect! Daddy Joe's Beach House BBQ just keeps getting better and better! Count me as one of the faithful here!

We were on a tour through South Carolina and our tour guide included this stop as an example of Carolina BBQ. The first thing we noticed is that even though we arrived before 11:30 it was very busy and was packed by the time we left. My wife had fried fish and thought it was good. I had a combo of ribs and BBQ. The ribs were excellent. They were dry rub prepared and the rub had formed a crust during cooking that really made them stand out. I didn't care so much for the BBQ pork, even though it's their signature dish. It seemed a little mushy and fatty to me. I'm not used to Carolina vinegar sauce and didn't like it much. The BBQ beans were good. I really liked the hush puppies, they were cooked perfectly. I think some come with every meal. I ordered extra as my second side and having that many was too much.

Pretty good barbecue restaurant. The food and service are good here. The prices are similar to other local barbecue restaurants, but I wish the portions were larger.

They have.a huge selection on their menu and even have a Skinny Menu with some of the best grilled zucchini that I have ever had. The service was stellar!! Fast and reliable!! This place has a great seating selection as well. You can eat at the bar, inside or outside, they really seem to have something for everyone!! I will be back!!! Too many things I want to try on the menu.

Great food and service every time I visit I visit at least a couple times a week,the best I think is the bbq sandwich beans and slaw

Cool atmosphere inside and the outside had a fun beach vibe with laid back music playing. We had to wait but it wasn't long at all. The gentlemen we had as a waiter was nice, but he was given a large table and ended up not coming back to check on us. We had to end up asking another server to get our refills and ticket. The food was good. Prices are really good. We will try it again in the future.

Service is polite and quick. We got fried zucchini and chips for appetizers. The chip are very good. Zucchini was bland. I had the ribs and wing plate. Husband had calabash chicken and rib plate.They fell off the bone, heavier smoke than I usually like but they are very good. Chicken and wing very good. Hand squeeze lemonade was delicious.

The service was great..need to say that first. Secondly, if you have an aversion to salt on the kielbasa...don't go here! Waaaaay too much salt on the kielbasa. Homemade onion rings were excellent, coleslaw was awesome too, beans and potato salad were little vinegary. Ribs we're ok. My bf told me we had been to this restaurant a year prior to this visit..l don't remember this place before this visit (we live out of town).

It does not taste like they make their chicken. Tastes exactly like Sam's rotisserie chicken. Pulled pork is quite fatty and tastes boiled rather than smoked. It's ok, but there are many places that do MUCH better on bbq.

When you walk in a place and everyone has ribs...you get the ribs. I hadn't eaten all day, so I did a 2 meat combo - ribs & pulled chicken. Ribs had a light bark, lots of meat and great smoke. They were amazing. The chicken was incredible- moist, Smokey and full of flavor. Sides were good too.

First time and service was great ~ our waiter Bobby had a great sense of humor and took care of us explaining the menu! We had pulled chicken with salad and slaw. Everything was excellent ~ we will return soon with the whole family.

Awhile back, we were driving back from Marietta GA after having a great stay celebrating the youngest Grandson's Birthday. We got a relatively early start and got to Gaffney early afternoon and wanted to stop for lunch. After seeing the signs along I-85 for this restaurant and Bar-BE-Cue, I want to give it a try. This was not an impulse because I've been wanting to try if for some period of time From the outside, it captures the Beach Shack Motif quite well. Walked in and it was packed and rather noisy but got seated in a relatively short period of time. I knew what I wanted but my wife Susan was not sure she was going to find something on the menu that she was going to like. She finally decided on a Mac n' Cheese Soup and 1/2 of a Rotisserie Turkey on Whole Wheat. I had a Pork Bar-Be-Que Sandwich and Beans and of course, the obligatory Hush Puppies. We both enjoyed our lunch. The BBQ was excellent with a nice flavor and natual sweetness without a lot of molassas. I had never considered a Mac n' Cheese Soup but Susan said it was delicious. Service was good and were back on I-85 in a short period of time homeward bound. Fortunately, Gaffney is only about an hour away from our home so were made it home in a reasonable time.

I was in Gaffney Christmas shopping. Looking for a place for dinner, Yelp showed Daddy Joe's with many favorable reviews. Although the decor is odd and hard to tell the type of restaurant, I was very surprised with the outcome. The bartender recommended the 10 Oz ribeye plate. To my surprise, the ribeye was amazing! The baked potato was huge. Along with a couple of cold beers, I had a great first time dining experience.

Great food and great service!! The coleslaw is refreshing and the hushpippies were delish!! We will definitely recommend this to everyone and be back for sure!!

This was our first visit to Daddy Joe's Beach House, and it was absolutely wonderful! Our server, Bobby, made us feel right at home and guided us through the menu, helping us select a delicious spread of barbecue chicken, ribs, and shrimp. The sides and sauces were excellent, too! They also serve ice-cold Pabst Blue Ribbon on tap (many others too):and some seriously good iced tea. The atmosphere is laid-back and casual, perfect for a relaxing meal. If you're ever in Gaffney, be sure to make this a stop on your trip. Highly recommend!

This place was excellent! The smoked meats were fantastic, calabash chicken and onions were fried perfectly, the smoked chicken salad sandwich was one of the best I have had. The service was on point. If you are looking for a place to stop, you will not be disappointed!

Disappointing experience. We were really hoping for a great meal, but this choice fell short. The Calabash shrimp were small popcorn shrimp, Luke warm, although breaded they weren't crunchy and lacked any flavor. Pulled chicken was less than unremarkable...of the three at our table that ordered it, all left a large part on their plates and regretted the choice. Fire shrimp appetizer -- just more of those tiny Calabash shrimp with a few fried jalapeños and sauces. The jalapeño and cheddar hushpuppies were the star of the night. Hot, crispy, excellent flavor, and just the right size.

BBQ is in their name, it's what they've done since they started in a shop next to a gas station. Shaq's loaded chips are delicious- house made chips with cheese, green onions, and bacon. The baked beans have small pieces of bbq and are my favorite side. The ribs can be iffy- sometimes fall off the bone, sometimes they needed more time to cook. They only serve one type of bbq sauce.

I'd give a zero if I could. We are from out of state. Atmosphere is great. In our area we were the 3rd group to be seated out of 8 tables. By the time 3 other groups got their food, we are still staring at each other. We were ahead of the dinner crowd and after lunch. Tons of staff working... no one asked us for even a drink order after sitting for over 20 mins..(by the time I started counting)... Guess we were invisible. Off to Applebee's!!

We were tired from traveling and stopped here. Do NOT let the road front appearance dissuade you from stopping! This is a FABULOUS place. The food is fresh, hot and plentiful. Inflation has not hit Daddy Joe's yet. The wait staff were ever on the ready and so gracious, like they actually liked their jobs.

Five stars from 1992 Lexington BBQ Festival queen . We are pretty picky about our bbq and the bbq slaw and pulled pork were pretty close to be a full state over! The hub's ribs were cooked so tender and the smokiness just shown through. Will def be back to try the beer when we have more time to chill. Such a cute place to hang out with awesome food.

I meet my mom here often as it's half way between us! We love the atmosphere, the free wifi is a perk, they have outdoor seating so when it's not super hot we may bring our dogs. They have birthday brownies though I had brought my own cake. I was also told happy birthday several times and I think that's really nice. I do wish they had other side options as I personally don't care for many of these. But the pork is great, ribs are wonderful, calabash shrimp are delicious, and the chips were great! We will definitely return!

Second time we stopped to eat at Daddy Joe's on our way to Virginia. And second time we left the place feeling happy. Good home cooking and great service. Yes I know, a difficult pair to get these days. I just learned that Calabash style breading it's a flavorful super light crispy coating for chicken, fish, shrimp and veggies. And the most amazing characteristic is that after eating it, you don't have that oily/greasy sensation in your mouth. I love onion rings. But most restaurants served them with a heavy batter coating that makes them super heavy. You must have the onion rings at Daddy Joe's. Magnificent. I had a Calabash chicken and smoked kielbasa with hush puppies and potato salad. Great juicy light crispy chicken with the right amount of seasoning, served with a very balanced honey mustard. But I was truly amazed with the Kielbasa sausage. The best one I've ever tried. Perfect amount of smoke flavor in a really flavorful pork sausage. Tender but with a perfect snap when you bite. Next time will try other sides not impressed with the salad or the hush puppies. Oh and don't forget to try the sweet tea. Good sweetness level with a good brewed tea. Definitely this has become a must stop on our way to Virginia for sure.

Absolutely authentic barbecue! A couple of miles off the interstate, and nothing but locals. The brisket, the sausage and the pulled pork were all fantastic! Try this place.

I'll tell you what. Sometimes you can miss a good thing that's right under your nose. I went to lunch with family yesterday for a birthday meal and boy, was I impressed with Daddy Joe's. I ordered a rib and buffalo wings combo plate with bbq slaw. The wings were plump and tasty. The hushpuppies were hot and light. The beans were a little sweet for my taste but the slaw was very nice. The standout, though, were the ribs. Not "falling off the bones" aka overcooked. They were meaty, tender, had a nice bark and the texture was PERFECT. I kept thinking to myself, "These are darn-near contest quality on a weekday lunch menu!" Great meal, good value, amazing food.

New to area and our first time here food, service and ambiance were top notch! Had bbq in NC a few weeks ago and dry, over salty and flavorless. Not these! The ribs were perfectly smoked, meat fell off the bone and really just PERFECT. Everyone was so nice. Even though we came at dinner rush on Friday we were warmly greeted and found a perfect spot at a table in the bar. Will be back for sure.

Daddy Joe's had some great service. The rack ribs I had were very good I would say an 8 out of 10. They need to work on their pulled pork seasoning but the hamburgers or some of the better ones I've had. I love the decorum with the rustic Southern whitewash and license plates. My kind of place. The best part about it was the service. The manager even came out to make sure we left with a smile on her face.... That's awesome for my book!

Stopped here based on the reviews but felt like the food was just so-so. The server was great, super friendly and helpful. But the food was just alright.

Food was delicious (no matter what ya order be sure to get the jalapeño cheddar hush puppies as an appetizer)! We were passing through on a road trip and will definitely go back if in the area again. Ryan was such a nice waitress and gave us great recommendations!

Deliciousness! Perfect combo plate, pulled chicken, hot wings, baked beans, Cole slaw, and hush puppies! I also had an adult beverage, margaritas and they were wonderful, made perfect.

The food is great with a menu that offers lots of choices. The waitress was super friendly and the manager came around, checking on the tables, which is always a great thing. This was our second visit and this time we brought friends. I'm also impressed with their prices. Our food choices have included the ribs, the prime rib sandwich, wings, and the chopped barbecue and all were delicious. The hush puppies are the best. Will definitely go back.

I live in Hickory and the food at Daddy Joes in Gaffney SC is better than anything I have ate in Hickory. All of my Hickory neighbors this one is worth the drive. I had the blackjack chicken and it was amazing. The chicken is blackened with a great seasoning and it comes with a side and I decided to get the baked beans which was so good.My beer was ice cold and the service we received from the waitress exceeded our expectations. My boyfriend got a brownie with home made ice cream and the brownie was so good that it literally melted In your mouth . They sang Happy Birthday and for seven people it was less than anyone restaurant in Hickory and the food was excellent. I will definitely come back!

Saw the signs on the interstate so decided to stop in for lunch on a Saturday. Atmosphere was fun and reminded us of the beach shacks. The service was very good and the staff were all friendly. We had the salad with bbq pork and the ultimate chicken sandwich, both were very good and the portion size was just right. There were alot of choices on the menu from calabash fish, burgers, bbq etc. so definitely something for everyone! We would stop in again for a meal and would recommend the place to others if you like the beach atmosphere.

Life's too short to eat bad food. On our way home (to the Atlanta area) from Wild, Wonderful WVA) we saw billboards for Daddy Joe's. I immediately opened Yelp to get the 411. So dang glad I did! I love (lean) BBQ with slaw! Daddy Joe's did not disappoint. I like the sweet bbq sauce better than the vinegar, and again, wasn't disappointed. The onion rings are so good. They were served with honey mustard, which, at first I found strange but after a dip, jumped Right on board with- hell yeah good! My Sunshine had the chopped pork and calabash chicken & beans, fried and hush puppies. If the man tells me one more time how that chicken is better than mine, he might be in for a fine verbal dressing down. Our server was awesome! Thank you to the man with the crazy -funky- awesome blue hair! You were right there when we needed anything. Absolutely perfection! The only thing that could have made it better was if the buns were steamed and if the 4 beautiful ladies behind us would have talked a little louder. (OK I admit to listening in on their conversation. Because they were so happy, laughing, so happy to be together and sharing stories. To the beautiful lady in the flowered jeans and cowboy boots...
