Really great museum, located right in the heart of downtown and around a 5 minute walk from banwaldong station. This museum, though mostly in Korean is very interactive and here you can learn all about oriental medicine and the role it played in the local area for free!!

Amazing experience. Fantastic displays and history of herbal medicine in Korea. Had the medicinal foot bath and made herbal soap. Beautiful public foot bath right outside that is still being used daily.

Fantastic museum! Even though I wasn’t able to download the English audio guide, I was able to watch videos with the English subtitles and learned about this history of the area. There are a lot of interactive exhibits where you can smell the herbs, or play stories or games. I highly recommend visiting this unique museum if you are in Daegu!

Here is the museum where you can learn about the history of medicine development in Korea. I was amazed by all the details, and the best part is you can drink ginseng water and try wearing a doctor’s hanbok for free hehehe.

An interesting and informative place to learn about the history and tradition of Korean herbal medicine. The museum offers a well-curated look into Daegu’s long-standing role as a center for oriental medicine, with exhibits on medicinal herbs, ancient tools, and traditional healing practices. The interactive displays and detailed explanations make the experience engaging even for those without prior knowledge of the subject. It’s not a large museum, but it’s thoughtfully organized and worth a visit if you’re curious about Korean culture, traditional healing, or the city’s historical trade in medicinal ingredients. The area around the museum also has herbal shops that complement the visit nicely.

Highly encourage everyone to visit this place! It is very educational and interactive for families. Minimal fee of $2 for herbal soap making and $2 for herbal foot bath.

You can visit the museum for free. In this museum you will learn the history of oriental medicine in Korea. You can also try the Hanbok for free! I dressed as Dae Janggeum from the korean drama "Jewel In The Palace", the first female physician in the Joseon Dynasty. I also tried the Royal Guard Uniform hahaha. For male, you can dressed as Heo Jun which is also a famous physician in the Joseon Dynasty.

If you have an hour or two, go to this free museum for an educational tour. Make sure you book the herbal feet bath when you get there as it can be fully booked quickly. Good for 5,000 W.
