Dahlia Daytona Beach

Our first visit here was incredible. Although this restaurant is tucked away in the shopping plaza, it was truly a find! The food is incredibly fresh. I ordered the margarita quesadilla and it was probably the best quesadilla Ive ever had. Alfredo was oir server and he was fantastic. He answered all of questions and always kept our drinks full. We will definitley be returning soon!

Our first visit. This is a fun place with excellent food. We went with another couple on a Taco Tuesday. Loved the shrimp tacos. The other couple enjoyed enchiladas and the salmon. Server, Blanca, made us feel at home and provided great conversation.

Went here for lunch, super good tacos. The margharitas was amazing as well. They had boba-ritas! I never had one and it did not disappoint. I will return again and I highly recommend!

Got the vegan burrito and a side of black beans and cilantro rice for my toddler. The food seemed VERY oily, but had good flavor. Definitely check your food to ensure it’s vegan. They accidentally put cheese on my toddlers, but they replaced it for ua. I would consider eating here again. Fast food and friendly service. Huge parking lot.

Our server Clara was PHENOMENAL!!! 😃 🙌 We asked for custom Mock-tail drinks and she gave us suggestions on the best flavors and what to put on the rim of the glass, and they were just simply amazing!!! Such a sweet, bright, and energetic personality she is! The food was phenomenal too!!! The Garden Quesadilla, Cauliflower Tacos, and Queso for the Chips were truly out of this world! Will absolutely be back here and I highly recommend this place to everyone!

The triple meat (beef, chicken and shrimps) fajita was delicious. You can smell the great aroma right away. Very good portion size. We actually ordered takeout on line. It was ready in 25 minutes for pickup. So, convenient and fast. Definitely would come back here to dine in the restaurant, or order takeout. They have plenty seating capacity. No need to worry about getting a table. Plenty parking too. Very clean and modern looking. And still have very authentic Mexican dishes.

I read a review or maybe it was a picture that said "average Mexican." DAHLIA is as far from average as as the sun from the moon or Sol from Luna in Spanish. I came here at opening 11am on a Saturday for brunch. I sat at the bar since I was a party of one on this occasion. The chips and salsa almost magically appeared before I could sit down and I had a drink in my hand in less than 3 minutes. I ordered the Palomas $5 brunch special. It is a margarita made with grapefruit. I had it with a tahini rim. It was just what I needed to start my Saturday. Loved the ambiance and decor. This place is wasted in Daytona, because it soooo reminded me of MIAMI. From the bachata playing non stop to the general feel of the place. There is room for dancing in the bar area or a band. I can imagine this would be a bomb happy hour spot. There are so many great things happening here. My entree was the barria hash. So very good. Enough for 2 and the flavors were fantastic. The sauce....OMG!!!! I am in the middle of trying to finish my entree, but at this point I feel like I need to be a regular, because I absolutely love DAHLIA!

To begin, this was a delivered order so I can't comment on the restaurant... that being said, given the quality of the delivered food, we won't be ordering from here again, nor would we go to the restaurant. We were craving Mexican food, and we decided to order from here as our usual place was closed. We ordered a variety of different dishes, and all of us agreed it was edible, but that was about it. My friend ordered a birria quesadilla, and they forgot to include the birria sauce. She said the quesadilla was just ok. "Chewy" is how she described it. My other friend ordered tacos, as did I, and both of us had tacos that literally fell apart when we picked them up. The pastor was ok. Smoky. But there were a lot of pineapple pieces and a scattering of meat. I also ordered a plate of nachos and they were almost inedible. I ordered them with beef which was lost by all the beans and other toppings. I ended up dumping my al pastor pieces into it and then dumping most of this into the trash. I've ordered nachos online before, and you can tell how good the quality of the nacho chips are by how well they hold up. These did not. Even the "dry" chips were not crispy nor flavorful. As I said, won't be ordering from here again.

FOOD: - taco Tuesday not too shabby - awesome big margaritas SERVICE: - I was at the bar and the service was slow and it was just us two there. AMBIANCE: - has predictable decor but the size of the place is really big.

The food portion size was good but lacked flavor. The restaurant was well lit and clean. The staff were friendly and attentive.

Tortilla chips and salsa were at our table almost immediately. I ordered the TexMex chicken tacos. Our server, Lourdes, assured me that the chicken was all white meat and shredded. What i got was big, dry chunks of meat with no sauce or seasoning. It was gag-worthy! When paying, I described my disappointment with the food. My partner, who also had a chicken dish, described the same thing with her meal. Lourdes said she would tell the manager when she processed our payments. Upon returning to our table, she said she told the manager. No apology, no concession. Is the poor quality due to this being in a touristy area? I'm a local! I brought 2 of the 3 tacos home and had to shred the meat to make it chewable. Jar salsa helped with the flavor. I'm sure I won't be returning to Dahlia in Daytona, but I WILL go back to the restaurant in Port Orange.

Started out with the complimentary chips and salsa. Server somehow mixed up the salsa and gave us a hot and spicy salsa. Not a great start. Anyway, we ended up ordering a quesadilla and some tacos which were good enough. Time to leave, had to go find the waitress to get our check so we could leave. Not a great ending either. Plenty of other Mexican restaurants in town so we may come back again solely based on all the other better reviews for this establishment.

I don't typically like to leave bad reviews I ate twice, the 1st time it was not good it wasn't bad but it wasn't good meaning I would never go back. The second time I went was only for drinks but I thought hey maybe it was just that dish or idk let me give the food a second chance and I instantly regretted it, and I got something different. I don't feel like the food is authentic I'm not Mexican but I am Hispanic and it was not up to par for me at least. I will not be returning. I looove Mexican food and I really don't understand or see why or how this place is still in business. I will say the place is cute the staff is amazing the drinks are great, I just cannot eat there or any Dahlia's for that matter.

We were looking for a good lunch place after some grocery shopping and ran across Dhalia while searching google. It was the start of bike weekend and I do not understand why this place was empty. Oh my goodness. The business is incredibly clean and the vibes are immaculate! I absolutely loved just sitting in here. The staff was very nice and thorough. The food came out quickly. It was hot and delicious. Our drink had tequila in it and it was a hefty pour! My tacos were good but had a bit of fat in the meat. My son devoured the beans. The kids chicken quesadilla meal was HUGE. The star of the show though was 100% my husband's birria burrito. We'll definitely be back!

We were pleasantly surprised with how much we liked the food here! We came at kind of a weird time (4 PM on a Monday) and it was pretty dead which made us nervous, but the food was all awesome! They have an extensive drink menu. I cannot recommend the birria burrito enough. Wow that was good! Our service was also very good and the chips and salsa were tasty.

It's been a while since our last visit here. It was definitely better than most. The food was good and full of flavor. I ordered the Carne Asada and a Taco Salad w/ ground beef. Both were very good. They had live entertainment which was Very loud but entertaining. People were out there dancing and having a great time. The service was Jimmy John's fast. LOL. Everything came out really fast and hot. The chips and salsa were good. We enjoyed the whole dinner. I recommend.

Didn't even get sat, waited for 10minutes in lobby with no service. Restaurant was empty btw ended up just leaving. Smelled good at least.

Huge place, conveniently located by the hotel we were staying and across from Daytona International Speedway. It was better than expected, some reviews concerned me, and after eating there I do not agree. Service was excellent. I forgot to ask our server his name, my bad. He was attentive, made recommendations, and was patient. My husband and I shared: - The Al Pastor wraps were good. Fresh lettuce, I would have preferred the Al pastor to be chopped smaller and with more flavor, a little spice as well. - Puebla Enchiladas. Was a very good dish, with chicken, spinach, and poblano cheese, and was served with cilantro rice and black beans which we prefer. - They did not have the Dulce de leche dessert so I settled for the Tres Leches. That was a mistake, it was not good. My husband described it as "a hostess tres leches" (stale pound cake covered with sugary stuff) yikes! My drink, a Smoked Ancho Old Fashioned, was interesting and good. Very smokie and tasty. Unfortunately, they served it with maraschino cherries instead of Burgundy cherries. That lowers the quality of a drink Overall we were pleased with our experience

The environment is so inviting, I felt like I was at a Cinco De Mayo party as soon as I walked in I loved it. We were greeted right away and taken to our table, however getting drinks and being able to order did take quite awhile, but once we received our chips & dip and drinks the food came pretty quick after. I got the margarita flight and surprisingly the jalapeño coconut margarita was my favorite. 10/10 I definitely recommend go check them out if you want authentic Mexican.

Stopped in here on a whim. Don't think a better choice could have been made. From the food to the atmosphere, it was an incredible place. Service was exceptional. Would definitely recommend to give this little gem a go.

We went it last night on a Saturday it wasn't very busy. The service was great, we were seated immediately. The ambiance at that time was very quite and chill but I'm sure that can change. The art on the wall was also beautiful. I ordered a passion fruit mojito and the pork belly. The mojito was good. Their rice very flavorful and delicious. The beans were good but lacked a little spice. The pork belly was good but also kind of dry. The cook it with a sticky sauce and give you a little coleslaw with it but it just needed a little something extra. Over all it was good and I'd try the restaurant again.

I was in town for a festival for the weekend and my Airbnb host recommended this place. And overall, it was good food quality but service was so slow and it felt like they had no skip to their step. Except one guy who I felt like was carrying the whole team but unfortunately we didn't have him as our server. When we finally got our food after waiting so long, it was worth it. We all got different dishes and enjoyed it individually. I probably wouldn't go back though because of the service. I wasn't a big fan of it all and it left a bad taste.

My fiancé and I order the chimichangas, my steak was inedible I had to spit it out, my beans were also disgusting I barely touched my food waitress didn't ask and was missing most of our visit. My fiancé did not like her meal either the chimichanga wasn't crispy it was soggy and she didn't have queso on hers. We left disappointed.

Went on Saturday night for the music.started 6 pm. Little too hard for that time of the evening. Margaritas for $5 each well worth it. fajitas were very good but nothing special.

Couldn't even bring us drinks when waiting at the table for over 30 minutes. Overall worst experience ever food most likely wasn't good considering they couldn't take are order while being sat for 30 minutes waste your time somewhere else

Some great Mexican food in daytona beach! We got a tabla de carne and split it amongst the table. Service was quick and amiable, with great, lively ambiance! Would definetely come again.

Oh my, such a cool vibe and great food. First, don't expect sombreros and Mexican paintings on the wall. This is a chic venue with waiters in black t-shirts, dark walls and hipster music playing on the speakers. But you want to hear about the food: Salsa - thicker, for those who like it, and it has a little kick. It was good, but I am a mild salsa kind of person. Grilled Vegetables (side) - so crisp and good, just a hint of Mexican spices, perfect. Black Beans - the sauce they were in was way too thin, but it works and has an AMAZING flavor. Guacamole - I think it is $13, but it is HUGE, plus it is delicious. When I asked why it was $13, someone at another table said "you should just get it", so we did. Glad we did too. It is enough to feed four. Carnitas Tacos - three tacos (my daughter chose pork carnitas) which my daughter devoured. Shrimp Chimichanga - OMG, so delicious. Grilled shrimp in a fried shell. I could eat this everyday. Parking and service are both fantastic.

Located in a very unassuming location just east of the Daytona One complex this Mexican Kitchen seems a little remote even though it's actually just off ISB - After being seated and greeted by our wonderful server Yuris we ordered a Dos Equis Amber Draft and a Casa Dahlia (a frozen strawberry margarita) to start. The restaurant's decor is very appealing and the atmosphere is somewhat calming at least until it's transformed into something totally different after 4:00 PM when the lights are dimmed and the music is turned up a bit for what I was told is for evening dining, it seemed kinda odd being the crowds hadn't shown up yet but I guess it's a proven strategy. We started with the chips and salsa of course as you'd expect but decided to kick it up with an order of white queso which is very delicious but simple, although they do offer a variety of options including a Chorizo version - Yuris shared a few versions of their elevated salsa as well, trust me when I say these are hot hot hot but so delicious in small doses, a little goes a long ways. The entrées arrived before I ordered my second beer we chose Carne Asada and Cheese Enchiladas both came with the traditional rice and bean, pico, lettuce, sour cream and guacamole, some reviewers commented on the portion sizes, I thought they were adequate especially after the unlimited complimentary chips and salsa. The quality of the food in my opinion is somewhat higher than others I've experienced in the area as well as the overall dining experience. The service during our visit was exceptional and I contribute that more to the time of the day since the restaurant wasn't that busy but I think if you are fortunate enough to have Yuris as your server I can't imagine anything less then stellar attentive service which should always be rewarded. We ended our dinner with ice cream and sopapillas, a different version than I expected but delicious and plenty to share it provided a sweet ending - I'd definitely return for lunch, being we were able to experience both the lunch and dinner atmosphere, we preferred the quieter lunch personality of the restaurant...

Since we don't have a Dahlia in Jacksonville we take advantage whenever we pass through Daytona. On our way back from Orlando we stopped today. They do have a brunch menu on Saturday and Sunday. The regular menu seems to have been majorly slimmed down since last time we visited. Still plenty of options. Food was delicious!

Dahlia Mexican Restaurant had a lot of people raving about it. However, here are my thoughts on my visit on Thursday, July 21, 2022 (both the positive aspects, as well as the negative aspects). So, let's get the negatives out of the way first. I gave the date and day because they had a DJ playing in one corner and while the restaurant was relatively empty, the music was pretty loud. Pretty much annoyingly so. It was about 5:00 in the afternoon and the restaurant was relatively empty. So, the DJ should have thought about it and kept the music out a bit lower pace. According to the menu, it looked like they were doing some kind of margarita special that night, so the DJ would probably make sense later on in the evening. Another negative is the price point. I get it. It is right by the racetrack and I am sure the rents are at a premium. Expect to pay anywhere from fifteen dollars to twenty dollars on average per plate. The kids meals are ten dollars a plate. Not astronomical, but definitely a bit higher than what you would pay elsewhere. I am also a big fan of Mexican food and I would say this is definitely an Americanized version of Mexican food. Are queso appetizer was pretty watery and rather bland. I had the chili verde and it was okay. I definitely had better, but on a positive note, I have definitely had worse. The pork was tender, however it could have used a bit more of the green sauce. The rice felt like it had been sitting there for a while. It was just a bit crunchy and obviously was not very fresh. Our server, Melody, was also a positive. She was friendly and helpful. She definitely made the meal more enjoyable. The rest of the staff also were friendly and attentive. The restaurant is rather large. The tables are well spaced out and it is a comfortable vibe. Honestly, I was between giving it three and four stars. I decided to go up to four stars because it could have just been the Thursday night with the loud DJ and as the room would have filled, it would not have been so loud. As for the food, it wasn't bad. It just was not very offensive. I also understand that a lot of people are not looking for extremely authentic Mexican food. So, four stars it shall be.

Another really fantastic meal at Dahlia, our 4th in 4 visits to Daytona this year, would not miss it. Fresh & delicious food, tasty original drinks & excellent service with a friendly vibe. As full & satisfied as we were, it also feels healthy Luis is fabulous!! Blanco was so helpful tonight. It's shocking not all are 5 star reviews as that's been our experience all 4x Highly recommend the Los Cabos tacos, grilled (I sub their yummy tofu for the meat); for margs, we suggest the Diamond Skinny & Top Shelf.

The food was just ok. It was mainly the vibe and the atmosphere that was kinda weird. There was no other people eating here, but there was a ton of employees walking around and sitting at the bar chatting with each other. Over all the food wasn't bad, but I wouldn't come back.

When they first opened they were a breath of fresh air... great addition to the community... unfortunately they went downhill fast... drinks are average at best and food is marginal .. only reason we still went there was due to a very caring waiter that made all the difference in the world...once they opened the one on Dunlawton .. all the key player moved there and it's now below standards.... The dunlawton location is worthless as well....every time we went .. there wasn't anyone that could seat us... the one time that decided sit at bar area .. well after 15 min of being ignored we got up and left and they weren't that busy... poorly run ... average drinks ..overblown food.. not a good place as far as I'm concerned... you be the judge

Dahlia was pretty good. The chips & salsa was very good. The Birria tacos were good too but I've had better. That said, I've never had a bad Birria taco yet. Also most places give you 3 and Dahlia only gives you 2. I would go back and try other things if and when I'm in the area again. Overall if you're heading to the airport and need to kill some time or you want to get out of the airport and you're starving this is a perfect location. The waiter was overly nice and chatty too but I won't fault him for that, it's better than rude.

We stopped by for dinner. My wife ordered red enchiladas that came with rice, guacamole, pico de gallo, sour cream, & lettuce. My wife's plate came out with a black guacamole and old lettuce. We told the waitress who hadn't notice and she took it back. They literally just scrapped the old food and put it next to the red enchiladas. Completely unprofessional. Now we know if we are in a similar situation to ask for a new plate. I ordered the birria quesadilla , nothing special with this plate. It was a little bit overpriced for a simple birria quesadilla. In the past I had better birria plate for less money. Very unprofessional kitchen staff by serving food not fresh to customers.

Stoped in for an early supper. The first thing I noticed was the large capacity. Plenty of room for large groups. We sat out on the back porch. Service was okay but not great. Staff was very friendly but we had to ask for a few things instead of them being attentive. The food was delicious. We ordered the meat platter for two and the meat was cooked perfectly. Chips, salsa and guacamole were our appetizers. The guacamole was freshly made - delicious. My son ordered steak and shrimp fajitas. His meal was amazing as well. The shrimp were NOT over cooked. The grilled peppers and onions were scrumptious. I'd definitely go back.

The food was a major disappointment. Paid $18.00 for tacos(steak) that were so dry it was chewing on leather. I definitely would not recommend this place to anyone.

The food was amazing! Much better than the average Mexican restaurant The portions were huge! The drinks were great! If you're lucky enough to have Daniel wait in you like we did, you'll have a fantastic experience. He's a real professional and we couldn't have been happier.

Had to remove a star from my previous review today. I don't know if it's just the menu change, or if there's a new chef....but the food is just not the same anymore. Today I had pork al pastor tacos. They were extremely bland. Needed salt, seasoning, and acid. And a couple pieces were burnt. My husband enjoyed his carne asada platter, however he ordered the steak medium rare, and it came medium well. Maybe one day we'll visit again and hope for a better experience, but for now I think we'll take a break from this place. Compare the two photos I shared the first is the new al pastor tacos, the second is the old tacos, which were much better.

The food was delicious! Portions were great at a fair price! A return to this place is a must!

Wow!!!! If you love Mexican, you'll love Dahlia's!! The guac is super fresh, cheese dip is super good and creamy, chips and salsa very fresh!!! Birria tacos are amazing (do not get the birria quesadilla, not as good as tacos). Their elote was also super good. I can't wait to visit again!!

I really hate that I'm giving them a low rating. But I notice every time I come for lunch. It's like a similar issue. They open at 11am. I have arrived several times at 12 pm majority of the times im the only customer here but seems like the boss or managers have them running around to where they forget I'm here. Today was that perfect example. I arrived at exactly 12:03 pm. I got a drink to start. The employee disappeared. And I mean the bartender disappeared and came back at 12:30 pm. That's me waiting for over 20 minutes to order lunch. I asked for my tab. Paid $11 for my drink and left to order lunch else where.

I'm disappointed by this place. The reviews from past reviewers are their opinion, and this is mine. Beautiful space, bright and festive with plenty of space. The server was kind and attentive. They only have Chalula (hot?) sauce... I should've left then. The chips and salsa came fast, but this is where I started to get let down. The salsa seemed to be like every other mediocre Mexican restaurant, with no real spice and never enough for a whole basket of chips. I ordered a Mexican Coke (I couldn't find non-alcoholic beverages on the menu), and at $3.25, I about choked! It's like they bought them from Publix at full retail and then marked them up 100%! I know for a fact that they can get a case of the .5L bottles at Restaurant Depot across the street for about $1 per bottle! Even BJs and Costco! Ok, enough about that. My burrito was ok, but nothing exciting. The black beans were delicious but the meat inside the burrito was greasy and the rice was like RiceAroni Mexican rice. I suggest that if you like REAL Mexican food, drive further.

It was okay. I got a burrito. It was ver acidic. The black beans that come with it is good but the chips and salsa were horrible. I would skip this one.

Great food and even better margaritas! In preparation for a road trip to Daytona, I scoured Yelp for the best restaurants in the area and stumbled upon this gem and I'm so glad we tried it! It's in a shopping center but on the end so there are plenty of outdoor seats. Luckily, our hotel was close by so it was easy to just pop over on a Friday night. I got a skinny margarita that came with a black lava salt rim that was just beyond! I've never had anything like it before. I was shocked to see $12 guacamole and I was really curious why it costs so much but we decided to opt for the free chips and salsa instead. The quesa birria tacos were the absolute best I have ever had. My only gripe would be the portion sizes. We left satisfied, but not overly full. The burrito looked massive so maybe we just ordered smaller plates. The quality and freshness was impressive!

To start the place was pretty basic and the lighting was dark which was not the impression when you first walk in. Very clean though including the restrooms. Service was friendly and fast. Had chips and salsa on the table before I could blink. The salsa was fine. Nice bite but probably from a jar. Chips were just ok. Probably from a bag. Definitely not made in house. Black beans were bland. Could have been straight out of can and warmed in microwave. The Chile verde burrito was very good. However, did find a bone fragment in the meat. I did leave very satisfied but I have had far better meals that have cost less.

I'm not sure why folks are rating this place so highly. It's good, but nothing special. The chips and salsa are not made there. You've had these chips in a million mediocre Mexican restaurants. They are from a bag and the salsa from a jar. However, the salsa has a little bit of kick which is nice. The queso tastes good with a slight jalapeño flavor (but not heat), but it is pretty thin. Needed a little more thick cheesiness. I've never seen my entrée on a Mexican menu before, but I liked it. Pollo Del Mar was a thin piece of grilled chicken topped with grilled shrimp and grilled tomato slices. It had a light drizzle of queso which was tasty, but not overwhelming. And it came with black beans and cilantro rice. The rice was light, fluffy and very tasty. I love margaritas - my alcoholic beverage of choice. And they have lots of options. However, they lacked any unique flavor or much tequila. Barely registered a large frozen strawberry margarita which is unusual. The space is big with lots of tables. No outdoor seating. The entry was cute, but it looked like a plain diner inside the dining room. No atmosphere beyond a fun neon wall. Service was great. Granted it was slow on a Wednesday night, but she was attentive and the food arrived quickly. Low FODMAPPERS and gluten-free, good news. There are non-onion options like the Pollo Del Mar. Like I said, this place was nice, but nowhere near a 4+ rating.

This place is a hidden gem... in a little strip mall by Golds gym. We have been looking for a good Mexican restaurant all up and down Florida, we have like many, we love this one. You must try the Flan! Mouthwatering!

I came here for lunch for the first time, but my family frequents this place for both dinner and lunch. I was super excited to try it out, as my family always has nothing but good things to say about it. The restaurant itself was so cute, and they followed all COVID precautions. The food and the staff was great. We had a few serving hiccups, but nothing that made my experience bad. All the minor issues were fixed as soon as they could be. I loved how extensive their menu was, making it hard for me to choose just one meal. I always order fajitas at mexican restaurants, so I went with my gut, and ventured to see just what theirs had in store. They were delicious!! The chicken was flavored to perfection, and the veggies were super flavorful. My family also enjoyed all of their meals. We devoured the chips and salsa that they give prior to lunch, and even ordered a second round. Definitely give this place a try! They have something for everyone!

Okay, so this restaurant is dope asf!!! The atmosphere is just cool. On the walls, they have graffiti type art mixed in with day of the dead. Our server youlin was outstanding!!! I ordered a quesa barria, and my husband ordered the chicken chimmichanga. This is now my new favorite to go to local Mexican food. I would drive an hour to eat here; that's how good the food is.
